Maria

Mostly-affectionate tormenting, definitely. Maria is the type who bullies the people she likes... which often means those people will assume the exact opposite. She doesn't exactly know how to hold back with said tormenting, and that doesn't help her case. However, the behavior is partially on purpose, so people won't ever figure out just how much she cares about them.

Lydia

She's very protective toward someone she loves, and goes out of her way to support and help them. Lydia's "big sister" nature means that she tries to look after people she cares about; it's the most natural way of showing her affection, and it's one of the only ways she feels comfortable expressing love for people.

Rosemary

In general, she's awful at showing affection. Her love language amounts to trying to solve people's problems for them... while boasting a bit too much about how she's saving them. Rosemary is incredibly awkward about expressing love for others, so the best anyone gets are some vaguely tsundere attempts to improve their lives in practical ways that show off how intelligent she is.

Darcy

Her love language is doing everything possible to be helpful to someone. Since her mind moves so quickly, and since she can handle so many things at once, it just makes sense to volunteer her help however possible. Unfortunately, Darcy has a bad habit of overburdening herself in trying to make herself useful.

so there's this part of my fic that I just cannot decide on, and it would be lovely if you'd be kind enough to share your thoughts on both pieces. PLEASE!!🙏🙏

Thank you, so I'm confused about which play to play in the fic, and here are pieces from both of them.

Beauty and the Beast. (I was not planning on this, but I got a suggestion and I cant stop thinking about it!

“We’re playing Beauty and the Beast,” he continued, “and you would’ve made an excellent Belle; dead somebody, vaguely tragic past, fell in love with a prince and inherited a castle.” He ended with a finger brushing hair behind my ear.

Ouch.

I swatted his hand away, narrowed my eyes. “Let me guess. You're the Beast.”

“It sounds bad when you put it like that. I prefer to think of myself as a fallen misunderstood prince turned Beast by a cruel temptress to bring out his heart of gold.” His voice got dreamier by the word.

“Of course you do,” I muttered.

 “Great.” He clapped his hands. “Now that we’re on the same page on how I should be projected, we can come up with some great costume designs.”

Wait a minute. “We?”

“Yes.” He gestured between us. Duh. “You and me, we? Not as romantic as you’d like, but still.”

It took a monumental amount of will power, honed through years of ignoring insults, to focus on the problem at hand. “But I’m doing stage design, not the costumes.” I held up a finger. “Hold up a minute, there must’ve been a mistake, I’ll talk to the director.

And then there's this:

“So,” Jameson said with a grin, chin delicately poised over his knuckles, “shall we begin? I have other work to do, after all.”

“Of course, when do you not?” I sighed, like someone whose access had been revoked. There were more than a dozen people working on the stages, no one would notice if I slipped out, instead I was stuck being the personal curator of Jameson’s stupid beast costume.

“Hey, getting into character takes a lot of time.” He knocked my shoulder, and something in me snapped.

“Yes, Jameson, I got it,” I groaned. “It takes a lot of effort to huff and brood and roam around acting all stupid beasty.” My hands clenched halfway in front of me, giving up when realising there was no use of undue displays of anger. “Try getting stuck with something you don’t know the first thing about.” 

His chair, teetering at the very edge of a head smashing fall, loudly slid back into place. There was nothing different about him per se, but when he spoke, his voice was not the silky, careless, you-had-to-lean-in-to-hear thingy I was used to. “You're saying that I don’t have to work or do anything, because, what,” he chuckled humourlessly. “I’m already all that?”

“I didn’t say that,” I said weakly, reeling my shoulders in.

His lip curled, but his voice was hurt. “You know, you might as well have. It’s apparent enough without you having to work for it.”

Then,

Pride and Prejudice.

“We’re playing Pride and Prejudice this year,” he continued, “and you would have made an excellent Elizabeth; small town girl, big dreamer, madly and irrevocably in love with a charmingly tight-lipped rich man. It’s very-” he hovered an appraising hand over me “-you.”

You're not tight lipped, are you, I thought.

I swatted his hand away, narrowed my eyes. “Let me guess. You're Wickham.”

He hit a fist against his chest. “Oh, how the lady wounds me,” he moaned. Suddenly, he straightened, and I realised just how tall he was when he wasn’t leaning or slouching or whatever. He crossed his legs and curtsied, then took my hand and brought it to his lips. “Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberly, Derbyshire,” he pronounced, words thick with a -rather impressive- posh accent.

I blinked, hand still in his, before remembering to snatch it away.

His serious face morphed into a smirk. He nudged me. “I had you for a moment, didn’t I?”

I managed a flat look. “Not even close. It’s just a sad lonely rich man.”

“It sounds bad when you put it like that. I prefer to think of myself as a misunderstood soul, lost in the complexities of high society, bogged down by the tremendous weight of position and responsibility, freed, in a sense, by love for an intelligent young woman.”

“Of course you do,” I muttered.

He clapped his hands. “Great. Now that we’re on the same page about the light I should be portrayed in, we can come up with some great costume designs.”

And its pretty much the same, bickering and what not.

Jameson was always gonna try to go out of his way and prove to Mila and in many ways to her family that he wasn’t the same trouble maker he’d been when he was younger. After their heart to heart he wanted to prove he could be better and not let those negative thoughts of insecurity, swim around in his head for too long. It wouldn't do him any favors and only hinder him from showing that he was all in when it came to her.

Hmmm, what about the questions under people for Darcy?

👁️ EYE - what color are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

Angular and lime green. Her eyes are bright, alert, and fairly expressive, but there's not anything too unique about them.

🤥 LYING - are they good liars? do they have tells to show they're lying?

Darcy is a terrible liar. Her brain moves too fast for her to string together normal sentences, most of the time— and a habit of drastically overexplaining when she's saying something untrue makes it all too easy to catch her in the act. It makes her nervous to have to lie to people, so she avoids it whenever she can.

👻 GHOST - do they believe in ghosts? what are their "ghostly experiences", if any?

That kind of thing isn't entirely impossible. It's hard to believe that ghosts could exist, but Darcy isn't inherently in disbelief of them.

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

Feeling hopeless or useless gets to Darcy badly. She does her best to deal with the situation she's in and be worth something to the people around her, so any sense of failure hits her hard. It's common for her to take way too much responsibility onto herself and blame herself for things that are far out of her control.

😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?

She's a fairly easy crier, but not overly so. Anything that involves other people getting hurt doesn't sit well with her, so she's often found fighting back tears after a particularly intense battle.

👊 PUNCH - are they quick to violence?

Not at all. Darcy dislikes violence and seeing people in pain, so even though she's perfectly capable in combat with Oracles, she'll rarely resort to violence outside of those fights. The only way it might happen is if she's threatened and has no other option.

💢 ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to?

The sheer speed at which Darcy functions makes her a little difficult to deal with. Her brain is always moving a mile a minute, meaning that she's always five steps ahead of any interaction she has. Many people find her nervous behavior, non-stop activity, and constant mental restlessness irritating to be around.

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?

She's the oldest child in a large family, and all of her siblings are much younger than she is. She felt a lot of pressure to provide for everyone, which is what let to her joining the Diviners. However, she's had next to no contact with her family since doing so, and she only reaches out to them to send a portion of her paychecks. It's unclear exactly how she feels about any of them.

😨 FEARFUL - when scared, do they go into "flight" or "fight"?

Flight, usually. When she feels threatened, it's reflex for Darcy to keep moving. Thus, she's far more prone to fleeing a tense situation than staying to fight— or at least, not stopping until she can figure out what she's going to do to save herself.

💤 SLEEPING - do they fall asleep easily? what helps them sleep?

She tends to be much too restless and filled with mental energy to get enough sleep. It takes a complex calming-down routine to ensure a proper night's sleep, one she often has no time for.

It started earlier in the week when he dropped a pitcher of coffee on a table. He'd been lucky it was only half full and the splash missed the sweet elderly lady in the booth (bless her for not being an angry little thing). Then a few days later, his grip on a kitchen knife faltered, catching his thumb in cut that thankfully didn't need a stitch. Sure bled a lot, but he was able to bandage it up and call it a day.

Finn should have known this morning when there was a struggle getting out of bed, and how he swayed on his feet and the brain fog had intensified, that going to work was a bad idea. That being said, he also wasn't surprised when he went to lift a particularly heavy tray of entrees that he went down in a crash of dishes and hot food.

He sits outside the hospital on a bench, looking solemnly down to his left wrist that is newly wrapped in fresh plaster casting. A fracture. In hindsight, Finn blames the stress of finals mixed with the fire at the apartments, uprooting himself temporarily to Aurora Bay Drive. Also maintaining this balancing act of keeping his mother close while simultaneously an arm's length away requires a bit of effort, the pressure had onset the symptoms even while he's stayed on top of his medications. A physically demanding job might not be in the cards for him anymore, as lucrative as it is.

Finn perks when he sees the familiar car in the discharge pick-up area, gets to his feet (carefully of course) and saunters on over with a forced upbeat bounce to his step. "UBER - Barbara Jenkins?" he asks with a shit-eating grin as he pokes his head in her window.

"Just kidding, don't pinch me when I get in. I'm a wounded soldier, and it would be absolutely unfair of you to bully me while I'm incapacitated." There is a pause with a warning look, and then Finn slips into the passenger seat, tossing his messenger bag in the space by his feet. "Thanks for coming to get me. Darcy doesn't drive, and Jameson's at the shop. Not sure what Evie is up to at the moment… but, I appreciate it."

EVENT 005 {JUNE 2ND- JUNE 6TH} AURORA BAY FIRE

It's been about two months since the storm hit Aurora Bay and the town has been cleaned of debris, homes are re-inhabited, and any damage to businesses and homes is completely repaired. And with the flower festival having come and gone and summer just on the horizon, life feels pretty normal in Aurora Bay once more.

However, there has been talk around town recently about what may have happened to the money that was donated to Town Hall to help out the residents of Aurora Bay during the storm.

Some are concerned that not all the money was put to use and a journalist recently put out a report given by an anonymous source that the some of the money has disappeared and informed that this has not been the first time money has mysteriously gone missing. This has caused some residents to wonder just what this money is being used for.

Many have voiced their concerns, plenty of news outlets have written about it, but the Mayor of Aurora Bay, Raymond Ellis, continues to gloss over the issue--even as more records of money for the town seemingly disappearing continues coming to light and have started to have ties to the mayor himself.

Someone in town has had enough of this political corruption and hypocrisy though and has planned an attack on town hall. On FRIDAY, JUNE 2nd at 9PM a fire has been set in Ocean Crest Apartments from the inside, making it look like an accident on the 10th floor. All residents must evacuate the premises. While police and the Aurora Bay Fire Department will be busy trying to tame the fire in the apartment building, Town Hall will be raided by the culprit where they will find documents that prove Mayor Raymond Ellis has been stealing money from the town for himself.

Town Hall will then be set on fire with the Mayor trapped inside, effectively killing him.

An investigation will begin soon after to find out who is behind all this.

This will be the second fire Aurora Bay has encountered. The first having been an accident in one of the abandoned buildings during the town's expansion five years ago. That fire had taken the life of Knox Ridley, an eighteen year old boy who had recently graduated from Aurora Bay High School. The survivors of that fire were Evelyn Watson, Blake Dixon, recently-released convict Jameson Cassidy, and Chief of Police's daughter, Darcy Anthony. No one but those names listed above knows Darcy was actually the one to begin the fire since her father covered up any evidence that led the fire back to her.

Darcy, Blake, Evie, and Jameson are not responsible for this fire at Ocean Crest but since they all live in the apartments and were in the first fire, some may assume it was them.

If you want any of your characters to be suspects you may message the main and let us know. Keep in mind, the people behind this are NPCs only, so your characters and the characters listed in the event are not actually guilty.

If you want one of your characters to get hurt, you may message the main and let us know who will get hurt and how and we will approve or deny based on our discretion. ANY SEVERE INJURIES POSTED ABOUT WITHOUT ADMIN APPROVAL WILL BE ASKED TO BE CHANGED.

Any firefighters in game can play major roles in this event since it will be all hands on deck for this. If you have a firefighter and you don't want to be involved directly with the fire, let us know!

Any detectives or police officers in game can also speak to us admins as far of investigation plots go!

Ocean Crest will need serious repairs after this, so feel free to have characters stay with friends or families in other neighborhoods! There will also be shelters created in the gymnasiums of the schools in town, just like we did with the storm event.

"Hey Darcy..." Mila hesitantly said, as she approached the other. After Jameson's charge, she had admittedly not made as much of an effort with his old group of friends as she probably should have. "You look... like a bald man." Her eyebrow arched. "Who are you? I mean, whoever it is, you're rocking it for sure."
