Really feels like I'm shouting into the darkness, looking for commissions so I can get enough money to afford to live. Starting to feel really pointless now.

Been watching The Terror series while making this, snow seemed fitting. This truly is the dark night of my soul.

hi angels! i’m gonna try and keep this short and sweet. i lost my job in april and have been living off savings since. i’ve been interviewing for new jobs since i was let go, but nothing has come through. i’ve been doing gig work; door dash, instacart, etc. to try and make ends meet.

this month i don’t have money for rent. i had $600 + savings, and blew two tires on my car. since my car is how i do most of my work, i had to fix it. after towing, two tires and an alignment i have over drafted on my bank account. not only do i have no money to survive, but no money to pay for the roof over my head.

i’m asking for anyone who is reading to please help. please donate to help me survive the month. i’m also happy to provide commissions of any kind, please message me! i’m asking for the cost of my rent, all other living expenses i will find a way to cover on my own. all of this has sent my mental health into a spiral and i’m not sure how much longer i can keep going like this. i need every bit of help i can get.

I admire Kunikida so much because he refuses to give up even after everything he's gone through. Not just the Decay of Angels and Vampire arcs, but throughout the story. He's had his ideals challenged over and over again and even had them taunted, and despite that, he completely refuses to give up and it really shows here.

Man needs the biggest, longest break he can get. THEY ALL DO.

I LIVE AGAIN

For most people, one bind does not take this long. However I am a) a beginner and b) the physical embodiment of ADHD (so motivation is a lil hard to come by) (my poor friend has been waiting on her birthday gift for over a month now) (but it's fine)

Edge trimming did take ages as I predicted last time but it's DONE and it looks pretty decent considering I did it by hand with a wood chisel and a homemade press. Also finished reinforcing the spine & added headbands and bookmark!

AND I made the case today! First time using the foil quill pen I bought months ago (thanks to the good folks in the @renegadeguild discord server for the recommendation!) I kept the cover design very simple and didn't do anything on the spine or back, mostly because I didn't quite know how the pen worked yet and this was my last bit of red bookcloth so I was Very Scared of Messing Up

The phoenix design definitely isn't as perfect as it would be if I used a cricut, but for hand-drawn I think it looks p good so I'm happy with it

Making sure the case fits, not glued in yet (that's a job for tomorrow)

Height: 5’11

Description: Tall. Broad-shouldered, curveless, semi-masculine build. Shaggy, wild, mid-back-length brown hair that’s streaked with slightly darker and lighter shades. Dark hazel eyes, missing the right one. Usually wears a black eyepatch to cover it. Body is covered in a wide variety of scars, some more healed than others. Left arm amputated above the elbow.

Bound Object: Chainsaw

Alterations: Starting from her prosthetic arm, her magic is seeping into her flesh and bone and slowly turning it to metal, most of her pain receptors have been either turned off or severely dulled, and her healing factor works fastest and best when connected to metal instead of new organic tissue. 

History: Growing up in a dead-end life, by her teenage years, Veronica was already resigned to dying young, and most likely at her own hands. She became a Diviner as a form of indirect suicide— only to find the closest thing to a passion she’d ever experienced. Losing her arm sparked her obsession with magic and mechanics, though she never fully lost her cynicism. 

Personality: Passionate to a fault, she wholly dedicates herself to things that seem insane to anyone else. While she tends to be something of a loner, it’s mostly because she doesn’t want to let anyone get attached. Because she’s aware of her age and impending mortality, power and thrills steer her life. She wants to go out strong, laughing, and doing something good for the world, even if it never saw much worth in her. She’s kinder than she looks.

Positive Traits: Enthusiastic, practical, cares more than she shows, brave, quick-thinking in a crisis, surprisingly mature, self-sacrificing, determined.

Negative Traits: Unhealthily independent, reckless (suicidally so), morbid, uncooperative with others, overly zealous, fatalistic, thrill-seeking. 

Miscellaneous: She has a smoking habit that she started as a teenager and never fully quit. She’s struggled with mental health (especially depression), self-harm, and gender dysphoria for most of her life. Her left arm was the one with her self-harm scars and losing those was when she first felt free. Her father was a mechanic at a rather seedy auto repair, and that’s where she picked up the basics of her current skills with machinery.

One of the narratives I often rotate in my mind without actually ever putting down on paper is Jason and Tim getting stuck in the Star Wars universe. Tim meets a band of honorable Mandalorians who see a badass teenage warrior all alone and immediately are like "you can stick with us as long as you want, we'll even adopt you if you're down for that." He's not down for that, but he does stick with them because he needs to travel the galaxy to look for Jason or whatever. They bond, they train together, they appreciate the cultural significance that covering your face in public can have. Jason showed up on the other side of the galaxy and is going through a different story. They'll meet eventually and it will be a complicated reunion because I enjoy inserting Mandalorians into situations with fucked up family dynamics
