Just finished rewatching Black Sails (again) and this time I saw one of the final scenes in a new light.

On previous viewings, it's always felt a little random to me that Mark Reed shows up in the last 10 minutes. As though they wanted to include Reed's story and couldn't fit it elsewhere and so they just slapped it on at the end.

But this time I noticed that when Rackham introduces Reed to Anne, he says "He's come from the continent", with a quirk of his eyebrow.

We know that Reed has heard stories that piracy is still alive in Nassau (he talks about it with Jack in an earlier scene). But, to me, the implication is that Reed has travelled this far because he's heard that there is more freedom in Nassau, freedom from England's restrictive societal rules, from gender norms and expectations. That Nassau is a place that exists on the edge of England's empire, where new rules and roles can be devised.

Flint's war might have died but a sliver of what he was trying to achieve survived.

I don't know... maybe I'm just trying to find some hope at the moment. But this really struck me.

Since it’s almost the end of this year I wanted to post all of my unposted tms art I did this year. (it’s mostly Jon bc he’s my comfort character lol) The reason why some of these weren’t publicly posted was either because I had completely forgotten about them or bc my self esteem issues won :/

Picture #1: This was originally made at the end of June and was originally supposed to be posted before pride month ended, but it never did. It was supposed to be a follow up to my previous tms pride drawing bc Jonathon was confirmed to be graysexual.

Picture #3: An art piece that was originally supposed to be for the tms October challenge (specifically anti-mark week) but it turned out so ugly looking that I never posted it lmao. Kenny and Jon are definitely my otp of all time!

Picture #4: Another art piece that was intended to be for the Tms October challenge this year (specifically the 2nd prompt of the month). The context behind this is that Darcy decided to try making homemade pumpkin spice syrup. Both Leon and Mark tasted the syrup with something (it could either be on pancakes, a pastry, etc) …and you could obviously tell what happened next lol

How does Horror AU!Ben feel about Mark, Kenny, and Jon?

Mixed feelings all around.

Since the horror really starts after the whole Luke thing Ben and Mark don't really speak to eachother. But how Ben feels about Mark is different from canon ofc, it goes between the expected anger to extreme guilt and then to longing for him, so in short a mess.

NOW Jon and Kenny is very interesting. Since he spends most of his time with them, they can see his changes. Like I said with Mark his feelings are all over the places and sadly it doesn't stop with Mark. He can go from normal to angry to tired to just begin... quiet and stare at nothing. Safe to say the relationship between the three is really weird but Kenny and Jon just assume is the whole Luke situation finally setting in and just give him time.
