Yep, it's that time of the year again!
Get ready to show off this fandom's creativity and skills with the 7th ANNUAL TMS OCTOBER CHALLENGE!
Last year was the first year prizes were offered, and that was super fun! So for 2024, there's EVEN MORE PRIZES with the all new addition of the POINTS SYSTEM!
Each day you submit, you'll receive 5 points! The number of points you have at the end of the challenge will determine what your prize will be!
As with last year, these prompts were created with drawing in mind, but submissions can be anything! Art, writing, and any creative form is accepted.
Most of the prizes are merch, and this is the only way to get it until the merch store opens!
Make sure you read the rules if you want to participate to earn prizes!
⭐ Reblog if you’re interested! ⭐
Typed rules, prompts, and prizes list below!
RULES:
1 entry per day, except on make up days. If you're going for the max amount of points and you don't want to make a post every single day that you make an entry, you can combine submissions into single posts but only if your number of submissions don't exceed the number of days that have passed for that specific prompt. (EXAMPLE: 5 submissions on day 1 of a prompt is not allowed. 3 submissions in 1 post on day 3 and 2 submissions on day 5 in another post will still earn you all of the points.)
1 entry = 5 points.
Feel free to complete these prompts without entering if you just want something to do for fun!
On make up days, the number of entries you are allowed is equivalent to the number of days you skipped, plus the bonus prompt.
In order to receive points for your entry, you MUST tag Saveraedae or an official TMS social in a public post. (If your account is private, we can't see it.)
Entries must include at least 1 canon TMS character in order to receive points. (AU versions of canon characters are accepted)
If you win prizes. you will need to provide a valid address to receive them. (All prizes will ship for free. Prizes being sent outside the US should not incur any additional import taxes or fees, but if they do, you are responsible for them.)
────────────
PRIZES:
25 POINTS
Choose from 4 different TMS sticker packs, plus receive a set of 5 TMS pin buttons!
(You'll get a few cool exclusive bonus October themed TMS stickers as well.)
50 POINTS
Choose from 4 different TMS keychains of Mark, Ben, Jon, and Kenny, PLUS receive a special and exclusive poster print!
(What makes it special is a surprise! This won't ever be offered in the merch store. You're curious, aren't you? :) If you really like TMS, you're gonna love it.)
100 POINTS
Choose from 11 different TMS character plushes of the main and secondary cast, plus some cool fun extras!
(Options for plushes: Mark, Benjamin, Jonathon, Kenny, Ash, Luke, Steven, Leon, Darcy, Boss, and Alex)

Fuck Mark, am I right? Just kidding. (Or am I?) Sure, it's called "The MARK Side," but there's so many other characters that are a part of the series, whether their role is major or not! Creativity is encouraged, but remember, this week is dedicated to the others in his life, not him! (You can earn up to 30 points for this prompt.)
★★★★
MAKE UP DAY 4 + BONUS PROMPT 4 (27th)
If you missed any days, you can still earn the points for them! Feel free to submit as many entries as you want for any days you didn't submit something.
OPTIONAL BONUS PROMPT: 404: Ending Not Found. We all know of the Good and Bad Endings, but what if things were different? Create your own AU ending!
★★★★
PROMPT 5: AU WEEK! (28th-31st)
Final prompt! Throughout the years, there's been many TMS AUs people have made to explore different scenarios that wouldn't happen in canon. Choose an AU, create your own new one, or just think of something that couldn't be canon and make something based off of that! (You can earn up to 20 points for this prompt.)

2024 FRC - October 🎃
Hello friends! We just got back from New York! It was wonderful but we were exhausted and then Jay and I got sick. It's been a whole big thing. Anyway - we're glad to be home and hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween with lots of candy and fun.
I've just started beta reading a fic in a new fandom and I'm exited about it. Once it's published, I'll share with all of you. And I'm just about finished the @fanfic-reading-challenge - only have the "monthly" tasks left - so I'm pretty happy about that. As always, I'll drop a rec or two of what I've been reading this month. Enjoy!
A Better Fate by @tm-writes (57/57 E - Daemon/Rhaenyra)
Why you should read this: OKAY - so if you want a fix-it that doesn't include time travel (there are lots of those in the HotD fandom) - then this is the fic for you. Devoted Daemyra with tons of fun intrigue and politics - with some magic and babies and other awesome stuff. And the Greens get what they deserve and that's a delight to read. I highly enjoyed it. It's also massive - so you'll want to climb right in and live in the story. I could happily start rereading it again and I just finished.
Ricochet by @icapturedthecastle (2/2 E - Osha/Qimir)
Why you should read this: Totally AU. It's a political bodyguard situation but it's wonderful. Qimir is particularly fun. Deadly but still fun - which is very in character even in an AU like this. Super fun read. As soon as the final chapter was posted, I dropped everything I was doing to read it. SO good!
One more thing - American friends - please please please make sure your voice is heard on November 5th. Your vote effects not just you (and your children and the generations of children who will be effected by a tyrant being in charge) - but everyone else around the world is counting on you too. Vote vote vote. 💙🌊

2024 Art Summary!
once again there is more of a focus on making physical objects instead of drawings. I guess that's just what i need right now? Whatever keeps me inspired i guess.
Jan: 3d pokemon cards dominated.
Feb: the debut of my month long challenge: The Anti-cringe Crush Challenge (tm)! While the idea behind the accc was (imo) good, i waited until the last minute to present it to others, so nobody really played along with me. Last year's theme was "characters you had a crush on when you were a child". This year it'll hopefully get more traction, because i intend to announce the new theme early January.
March-June: i dont remember what i was doing, but i think it was mostly me working on my granny square sweater and playing video games.
July: during this month i turned all my excess pokemon coins into painted magnets. I learned a lot. I especially learned that i never want to do that again. I'm proud of myself for finishing though, and hopefully they'll sell well when i rent a table at a flea market this year (one of my 2024 goals).
August: more 3d cards! I was really happy with my Dark Scorpion card. It looks so cool in person!
September: Decided to try something slightly different and made a paper doll of Vriska. May experiment more in the future...
October: participated in Cringetober challenge this year and had a lot of fun with it. It had the kind of energy i wanted to capture for my ACCC. I didn't post the majority of my drawings. I really really don't like how much time it takes to post my art , and doing it once a day would've made me stop the challenge altogether, so i just didn't.
November - December: i made a bunch more 3d pokemon cards these couple of months. There's a big project i want to do regarding them, but i want my skills to be a little sharper. It kept me sane through a terrible holiday season. I still haven't recovered mentally.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2024 goals:
🔪Sell at a weekend flea market at least once (1)
🔪Use up more of my physical supplies (paint, beads, cards)
🔪 Finish one (1) of my fanfic wips and post it
Meeting Minutes
FYI- I post all the meeting minutes each time, so you can find them easily.
Southern Dutchess Toastmasters: Minutes from 2024-2025 TM year
Meeting Minutes: September 16, 2024
Attending: Joe Maselli, Eric Schlobohm, Ulric Lestrade, Greg Johnson, Kahlil Thorpe, Janice Dimock
Online: Aman Goel, Wanda Campbell
Guests: Jing Wu (and her two sons)
This was our first time meeting at the East Fishkill Library. The room was very nice, plenty big enough with lots of tables and seating. We did experience a few technical difficulties getting the online portion of the meeting going, but eventually, we got it done.
Joe was our Toastmaster and kept us on track once we got going. We had one speaker, Janice, who discussed healthy aging tips from the Blue Zones.
Greg led us in Table Topics with the theme of choosing which baby animal better suits you. Due to our earlier delay, it was a short table topics session- although we did have one of our young guests, Andrew, participate.
Ulric gave a helpful evaluation and Joe stepped us to serve as general evaluator. He noted that we could use a second camera so the online participates can see both the speaker and the timer.
Kahlil supplied our word of the day: numinous, meaning spiritual, supernatural, mysterious. The word was used 2 times during the meeting.
Our next meeting will be on October 7th at the East Fishkill Library at 7pm. Ruth Ray will be our Toastmaster.
Meeting Minutes: September 9, 2024
Attending: Kevin Shannon, Janice Dimock, Joe Maselli, Ulric Lestrade
Online: Ruth Ray, Wanda Campbell, Eric Schlobohm
Ulric was our Toastmaster with the theme ‘History of Labor Day’. We learned a lot about the holiday that many of us take for granted every year.
Wanda was our wordmaster/ah counter, introducing the word transcend- to rise above, go beyond, or surpass.
We had a brief business meeting in the beginning to discuss moving our club, as our current meeting place is closing. A potential new meeting place is the East Fishkill Library- although as of now, we cannot guarantee that their meeting rooms will be available every month.
Our speaker tonight was Joe, delivering a social speech, titled “Lifetime Achievement Award”.
Filling the role at the last minute, Ruth led us in a extended Table Topics session that everyone participated in.
Our next meeting will be September 16th, at the East Fishkill Library at 7pm. Joe Maselli will be our Toastmaster.
Meeting Minutes: August 19, 2024
Attending: Janice Dimock, Kahlil Thorpe, Mekkat Krishnan, Devaki Krishnan, Wanda Campbell, Kevin Shannon, Greg Johnson, Ruth Ray, Ruwan Fonseka,
Guests: Acheev Bhagat
(NOTE: I did not write down who attended this meeting- this list is from who participated, so if you were there, please let me know and I will correct the minutes)
Mekkat was our Toastmaster this evening with a fascinating theme of International Potato Day. Who knew there was such a thing!
Kahlil once again served as our word master/ah counter, sharing the word fallacy- a deceptive or misleading belief.
Devaki was our speaker tonight, taking on the challenging project, Managing a Difficult Audience. She did a great job delivering her speech and dealing with all the interruptions from her rambunctious audience. Kevin gave a great evaluation which pointed how she handled both the speech and the audience.
Mekkat led us in a potato themed Table Topics session with great participation- including our guest Acheev. We learned a lot about what kinds of potato dishes people enjoy.
Our next meeting is September 9th and Ulric will be our Toastmaster.
Meeting Minutes: August 5, 2024
Attending: Kevin Shannon, Ruth Ray, Wanda Campbell, Ulric Lestrade, Devaki Krishnan, Kahlil Thorpe, Markly Wilson, Janice Dimock, Aman Goel (online).
Guests: Greg Johnson, Sonia David (and baby Julia), Zion Livingstone
Devaki led our meeting as Toastmaster with humor as our theme. We had some last minute roles to fill. Janice jumped in as timer and Kahlil did double duty, already signed up as a speaker and filling the role of word master/ah counter. The word of the day was lethargic, meaning sluggish and apathetic. Greg jumped in as General Evaluator at his first meeting back after a long absence and Ruth stepped up to evaluate Wanda’s speech.
Wanda gave us an inspirational speech based on Nike’s motto- Just Do It! She managed to work the word of the day into her speech as well as the fabulous word, flabbergasted. Kahlil regaled us with his love of the “Scream” franchise of scary movies in his “What’s your favorite scary movie” speech. We learned about thrill seekers and fight or flight movie goers.
Kevin led us in a humor themed table topic session; asking such questions as what was the funniest thing that ever happened at work and what is a funny story from childhood. Our guest, Sonia, participate as well, sharing her favorite funny show.
Our next meeting will be August 19 and Mekkat Krishnan will be our Toastmaster.
Meeting Minutes: July 15, 2024
Attending: Joe Maselli, Eric Schlobohm, Mekkat Krishan, Devaki Krishnan, Kahlil Thorpe, Lizdely Garcia, Janice Dimock, Ruwan Fonseka, Aman Goel (online), Wanda Campbell (online)
Guests: Acheev Bhagat (online)
Lizdely Garcia led us as our Toastmaster for the evening. The theme of the meeting was dining out in the Hudson Valley and Lizdely gave us many great ideas for restaurants to check out in the area (including The Beast and Dutchess Biercafe, Cosimos, Lola’s Café, Kipp’s Tavern and McKinney & Doyle).
We had two prepared speeches- both from the Engaging Humor Pathway. First, Devaki demonstrated the power of humor in the impromptu speech with 2 short speeches- one on 3 keys to a happy life (never compare yourself to anyone else, stay healthy and have reasonable expectations). Then Mekkat entertained us with tales of travels and tribulations when his daughter went away to college but wanted to come home frequently.
Ruwan led us in Table Topics with his scary list of questions. They weren’t quite so bad this time. We heard about giving your life for someone else, doing the right thing, staying healthy, valuing family time, interacting with people and loving people.
This week’s evaluators were Wanda for Devaki and Joe for Mekkat.
Our word of the day was deference- meaning humble submission and respect.
Online Club Officer Training is ongoing on the following dates:
July 25 6-8:30pm
Aug 6- 6-8:30pm
Aug 24 9-11:30am
Meeting Minutes: July 1, 2024
Attending: Kevin Shannon, Joe Masselli, Janice Dimock, Wanda Campbell, Mekkat Krishnan, Ulric Lestrade, Kahlil Thorpe, Aman Goel (online)
Guests: Michael Domoulin, Kelly Anne Kilkenney
Our first meeting of the 2024-2025 Toastmasters year found us filling some roles at the last minute- including the Toastmaster. As usual, our members stepped up and we had a fabulous with meeting which included two pathways speeches.
Kevin gave the Level 2 Mentoring speech, reminding us all that we will need to do this speech for every path we do! He also made us aware of the unseen mentors in our lives by regaling us with stories from his retirement party. Apparently, he hadn’t realized until then how many of his colleagues considered him a mentor.
Wanda delivered a Level 3 on Negotiating the best outcome. She told us about facilitating a negotiation with difficult people. Sometimes you are dealing with unreasonable and irrational parties and you have stay calm and be patient to negotiate the best outcome. The audience could relate to dealing with an irrational party!
Kevin facilitating our Table Topics sessions using cards he found at a garage sale. He managed to find questions that brought us all down memory lane reliving our childhoods. Both guests participated in Table Topics.
Effective evaluations were delivered by Mekkat for Kevin and Janice for Wanda.
Our word of the day was expeditious- meaning done with speed and efficiency, quick or prompt.
Cynata Advances Development of Cymerus(TM) MSCs for the Treatment of Asthma
- Final report of initial preclinical study confirms Cymerus™ MSCs have significant beneficial effects on all three key components of asthma: airway hyper-responsiveness, inflammation and airway remodelling- Additional preclinical study expected to pave the way for a potential clinical trialMELBOURNE, Australia, Mar. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Australian stem cell and regenerative medicine company, Cynata Therapeutics Ltd (ASX: CYP), has signed an agreement with the Monash Lung Biology Network, a consortia involving researchers from the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute and Department of Pharmacology at Monash University, Melbourne, to conduct a further preclinical study to support the use of Cymerus™ mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for the treatment of asthma.
Asthma is a chronic, long term lung condition recognised by the World Health Organisation as a disease of major public health importance due to its global prevalence. Patients who suffer from chronic asthma manage the disease through the use of steroid type drugs, which can have significant side effects and impact on patients' quality of life. The global market for asthma drugs is expected to reach US$25.6 billion by 2024[1] so this challenging disease represents a highly valuable commercial opportunity for Cynata.
In October 2016, Cynata announced compelling initial data from a proof of concept study of Cymerus™ MSCs in an experimental model of asthma, which was conducted under the supervision of Associate Professor Chrishan Samuel and Dr Simon Royce at Monash University. Those initial results clearly demonstrated that Cymerus™ MSCs have a dramatic effect on improving airway hyper-responsiveness. Cynata recently received the final report of that study, which showed that Cymerus™ MSCs also consistently reduced markers of airway inflammation and airway remodelling. The preparation of a manuscript describing these findings is at an advanced stage, and it is expected to be submitted to a leading peer-reviewed journal in the near future.
Leading on from these findings, and consequent to the recent capital raising, the Company will now conduct a further study in collaboration with Associate Professor Samuel's group, which will focus on the effects of Cymerus™ MSCs in combination with and in comparison to corticosteroids. This study has direct clinical relevance, as corticosteroids are the most widely used class of drugs currently used to control and/or prevent asthma exacerbations.
"Our findings so far are encouraging, in particular because Cymerus™ MSCs exerted effects that had not been seen with equivalent doses of human bone marrow-derived MSCs, or other stem cells, in the same model. We are therefore very pleased to be able to continue our collaboration with Cynata," said Associate Professor Samuel.
"The final report of the initial study at Monash has strengthened our confidence that Cymerus™ MSCs could exert substantial disease-modifying effects (rather than just treating the symptoms) in asthma, which is a very exciting prospect, given the large number of people who are unable to gain control of their asthma using existing drugs," said Cynata Vice President of Product Development, Dr Kilian Kelly. "We are optimistic that this accelerated program will pave the way forward for a clinical trial in asthma patients in the near future," added Dr Kelly.
About Cynata Therapeutics (ASX: CYP)
Cynata Therapeutics Limited (ASX: CYP) is an Australian stem cell and regenerative medicine company that is developing a therapeutic stem cell platform technology, Cymerus™, originating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a world leader in stem cell research. The proprietary Cymerus™ technology addresses a critical shortcoming in existing methods of production of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for therapeutic use, which is the ability to achieve economic manufacture at commercial scale. Cymerus™ utilises induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to produce a particular type of MSC precursor, called a mesenchymoangioblast (MCA). The Cymerus™ platform provides a source of MSCs that is independent of donor limitations and provides an "off-the-shelf" stem cell platform for therapeutic product use, with a pharmaceutical product business model and economies of scale. This has the potential to create a new standard in the emergent arena of stem cell therapeutics and provides both a unique differentiator and an important competitive position.
