Some Business Bozo puts a hit out on Vlad. It's one of Vlad's earliest victims, back before he knew how to properly cover his tracks but there were so few metas no one knew exactly what the hell happened. BB had his entire fortune and company stolen and has spent the rest of his life building up enough fortune to hire the best assassin to murder this bastard.

Enter Slade Wilson.

Slade has recently accepted the job to kill Vlad Masters. During preliminary research, Slade discovers Daniel Masters, formerly Fenton, the godchild Vlad adopted after his family died in an accident. The godchild who despises Masters for murdering his friends and family. The godchild who is willing to sell Masters out in a heartbeat if it means being free.

The Terminator and the Ghost Boy strike a deal. Slade even grows fond of the little maniac.

So the GIW is the Ghost Investigation Ward and not the Ghost Extermination Ward, yes? Hear me out, hm? 

See, it’s really hard to study ecto-entities when they’re going all over in and out of the world. Really hard! And of course they aren’t like, sentient, studies for years before the boom in this one town showed this! But, the overgrown not-birds (they’re still debating that) are really hard to watch doing their natural thing when they naturally mimic people around them! 

So! They got this idea, right? Their operatives can capture some! They’ve even made enclosures based off of what they currently know! It’s like containing crows, down to the mimicry & puzzle solving just er, with opposable thumbs and intangibility. 

And they don’t succeed first tries of course (Wow were said operatives frustrated and maybe cursing a bit that might be a bit violently) but then they get some assistance from the Fentons! Trying to hit an ecto-entities’ wings in a way to not permanently injure them is hard, but the new net canons that a ghost can’t pass through? Perfect! 

They have so many specimens now! They even released a few that were very much uncontainable- they rely on technology a bit and that entity kept unlocking all the doors. So catch and release with that one it is!  

They even managed to catch the white-haired ghost! In double! Which might not seem that important, but! As they realize during intake & initial examination (wow are they bitey) the two appear to be young! Something their ectobiologists only theorized about but oh are they excited! (Now if only the two would stop trying to escape their enclosure that’d be swell! Look, toys! Foo- oh dear God that baby ecto-entity is melting- Oh few, okay note taken to raise ambient ecto levels in that room dear god that was horrifying and stressful. … Maybe get some feelers out for feeding unstable energy entities…)

Jazz finding out that Danny has been cleaning up his own 'mess' after big fights

Finding out that after the first time he nearly got caught by their parents in the decontamination shower, he started using the bathtub upstairs as a catch all

Finding out that after he almost created the ecto-equivalent of chlorine gas (while heavily concussed and suffering from blood loss) Danny learned the perfect mix of cleaning chemicals to remove blood stains and ecto-residue, but that it has to be applied BEFORE it dries

Jazz finding out that Danny has to clean the bathroom before he's fully healed because (1) he cannot risk their parents seeing and (2) there'll be another fight before he heals, much less a chance to clean

Jazz stepping up and taking on the duty after My Brother's Keeper. Secretly keeping his parents away from the bathroom; secretly keeping the first aid kit stocked.

After Ultimate Enemy, she learns the cleaning mix from him and some remedies from Sam. She guards the decontamination shower so he can clean himself properly. She does the laundry and destroys gauze/bandages to make sure Vlad can't get them. She tells him to text her "clean up on aisle BOO" when the bathroom needs cleaning.

he doesn't use the stupid code ("mad you didn't think of it first, huh" / "no, it's just dumb!!"), but he does appreciate her helping.

it’s the “Danny works for the Justice League” again but even more wonky:

Danny Fenton is but a simple engineer/ghost expert man

Phantom is but a simple ghostly hero

The Ghost King is but a simple “evil” monarch

so o’course Phantom gets called to protect Danny from the Ghost King

but you know that part where the story expanded so Dani was Danny and the Ghost King’s daughter?

and the Justice League thinks Danny was married to the Ghost King because of the Ring of rage that he can’t take off? so they think he still holds a torch?

Right.

Then, after the “truth” come out, the JL calls Phantom like “did you know about this??”

and he can’t just confirm it or deny it, it would be giving away precious info that doesn’t exist and he doesn’t have 

Phantom is so obtuse about it that the JL assumes he is avoiding the topic because he objected to the wedding was in love with Danny 

“Remember that time Phantom fought the Ghost King? Think maybe it had to do with this? and Danny was like Persephone?”

But then people begin making connections between Dani and Phantom and how they look similar, almost the same

So the people begin to think that Danny cheated on the Ghost King and that is why he’s “after him”

Dani is vibing the chaos, everyone knows she wants to be with her three fathers and rooting for poly, if only they all could meet and talk it out

“Communication is important, Dad,” she says with an innocent grin, “Pops said so.”

Cue meddling heroes conspiring to make the three-- totally different entities, not at all just one person-- do exactly that.

bonus: “What’s the JL thinking?”

danny looking uncomfortable = he is feeling guilty + he is torn

phantom wanting the JL to “leave it alone” + always going “i have to go” or “it doesn’t matter” when the topic comes up = defensive and resigned to unrequited

the ghost king being surprisingly quiet = disappointed and heartbroken + still has feelings and can’t actually do harm + menacingly + wants visitation rights

“Shit, why does that make sense?” 

“Boys, perhaps actually look into your overlay there? Perhaps look at the map as well?” 

“... oh my Ancients, guys, we’re not the players, we’re going to be the bosses of this game.”

The JL Jr team would really like it to be known that they are in fact done with Klarions shenanigans. This is literally the first day school is out for the summer for them! Who even showed him DnD and anime anyway?!
