Danny can't recall many fond memories of his childhood, but ones he did remember often included their summer trips to his Aunt Alicia's in the countryside where he and Jazz would play in the woods just outside the Kent family's farm. The Kent's were a wonderful family who took his parents' ghost talks in stride, and they were always kind to him and Jazz. Danny loved when Clark and his wife Lois were in town while they visited. They always had really cool stories on account of them being journalists. And if Danny seemed to notice that Clark tended to treat everything like it was glass, or that he seemed to hear things way better than he should... well, Danny wasn't going to say anything about it.
It was about a year after Danny's accident that the Fenton family made a trip back out to Alicia's. Clark happened to be in town; he heard the Fentons were coming. He'd heard shouting coming from Alicia's, but had initially thought nothing of it. The Fentons were a loud family, always getting into some sort of trouble. Then he heard the sound of their weapons firing; a little weirder, but still normal for Jack and Maddie. And then he heard a cry for help... that's when he found Danny stumbling through their fields, covered in dirt and blood and green, glowing goop. He had a gash in his side that he gripped at in pain, and his eyes burned a toxic green in his determination to get to the farmhouse. He clung to Clark as soon as he was close enough.
"Please help me," he whimpered through ground teeth. "My parents are hunting me, please you have to help me!" Probably a meta, he thought, angry that Jack and Maddie could do something like this to their own son, meta or not. With gentle hands, Clark lifted the child he'd known since he was a baby and got him to the safest place he could think of for medical attention. It was time to smuggle a child into the Batcave.
OR
Clark has known Danny his whole life, and when an identity reveal goes sideways in the countryside, Batman helps Clark adopt Danny.

Dp x Dc Crossover
Danny and Ellie somehow get tangled with Cadmus and frozen for study later. Obviously it comes to the JL’s attention and they all go ‘oh no another clone’. Anyone’s choice of who they think it is or if it’s a collection of people they took DNA from and meshed together to make these two sassy children.
Would be funnier if they came to DC universe by accident and didn’t have time to really learn about it before capture. The result being they have no idea superheroes are a thing and the heroes just thinking ‘these kids were traumatized and held captive, they don’t even know who Superman is!’ and cue another layer of hilarious misunderstanding.
When confronted about the whole clone thing, Danny immediately defends and protects Ellie. Obviously. Then they notice he was not defending himself, to which Danny goes ‘I’m not a clone!’ The heroes look at each other in clear doubt. ‘Oh he was in denial or seriously didn’t know who he was made from. That will make this harder.’
I may have started something though…
They found a discrete laboratory hidden in plan sight, underneath an office building. When researched, they found connections to Cabmus.
Considering the last encounter they had with the organization, they wanted to be prepared. Hence why when the small team noticed Batman walking down the stairs, Superman followed behind with a tight expression.
“Report.”
Red Robin stepped forward.
“Two cryo-stasis containers holding two nearly identical people. The first a male, approximately 13-14 years of age. Stable. The second a female, younger, approximately 10-11 years of age. Also stable, but her stats are lower than the boy’s.”
“What do you know?”
“Virtually nothing,” Connor says casually. “There are no documents left behind, digital or physical, and there are zero labels on these things.”
They arrive toward the back of the basement where the two frozen containers were sitting upright. One unit obviously smaller than the other most likely holding the girl. Batman has to peer down into the larger unit to see the boy’s face. Frost collected on his eyelashes and black hair like a forgotten doll. No movement from either forms, not even breathing.
“So we don’t know who they are made from,” Superman pushes, clearly displeased.
Batman keeps looking at their faces. The curve of their noses, the shape of their jaws, the positioning of their cheekbones. They didn’t look like Connor. No, they reminded him of someone else.
“We suspect hybrids of some sort,” M’gann contributes. “A mixture of different heroes if I had to guess, but there is no way of knowing with our lack of information without waking them up.”
“Can’t you look into their minds?” Clark questions.
M’gann squirms at the directness and Connor steps forward to defend her. Tensions rise.
“No, sir. They are frozen so there is hardly any brain function except to keep them alive. They aren’t even dreaming.”
She looks them over sadly, obviously distraught with not being able to connect to their minds in anyway.
Batman turns to Red Robin, the younger already watching him.
“You see it too, right?”
Batman grunts. Yes, he saw it.
“Is there a way to move them?” Batman brings back the focus.
“The containers are connected to the buildings power and then a back-up generator in case of emergencies. We’d have to switch the power to something mobile and there’s no telling what kind of effect that would have on the kids,” Connor explains, against the idea of moving them.
“It’s six in the evening. Most everyone in the building above as gone home for the day,” Red Robin helpfully adds.
“Evacuate the rest. Then call a medical team.”
“Wait,” Superman interrupts as the three younger heroes jump to do as instructed. “You’re not thinking about waking them up now, are you?”
“You have a better idea?”
Batman doesn’t even look at him as he studies the stats on the old screen connected to the nearest pod. This one holding the boy. He’ll be the first one out seeing as he’s the more stable one.
“They could be dangerous. They could try to attack us.”
“That’s why we’re here,” Batman deadpans. He didn’t state the obvious that they were children who had been frozen for who knows how long. If anything they’ll need reassurance that they were safe, not weapons in their faces as soon as they wake up.
Clark was not happy with his decision, but as long as he didn’t antagonize them Bruce left him alone.
It wasn’t long before they were ready to begin. Three medical personnel stood several yards back behind the heroes. Red Robin begins the defrosting procedure and they have to wait maybe an hour before the door slides open. There is a breath among them as they wait for his eyes to open. Instead they hear a cracking of thin ice and the boy falls forward without the door holding him in place. Connor is the one to catch him before he hits the floor face first.
Superboy turns him to lay him flat on the floor, the boy’s body still stiff with cold. Frost makes his hair and eyelashes brittle. His lips are a faint shade of blue.
“He isn’t breathing,” Connor informs quickly.
One of the medics push forward first, oxygen mask in hand.
“Bring the thermal blankets. We need to get his core temperature up,” the woman urgently instructs.
They get to work quickly in warming up the boy who is too small and fragile. After several minutes of the medics squeezing air into his mouth and rubbing his limbs and chest to get the blood flowing, the boy takes a breath. Then another. He coughs roughly, his throat scratchy, and starts to shiver.
“There we go.”
He whimpers and tries to move his hand, but the action is jerky and unpracticed.
“His eyes,” M’gann informs them, finally able to get some brain activity. “He can’t open his eyes. The ice-“
Connor takes a water bottle the medics brought and poured the room temperature water over his eyes to melt the ice holding them together. The boy jumps in surprise and tries to turn his head away but Connor continues until he can manually wipe away the ice and water from his eyelids.
Blue eyes. The boy has bright sky blue eyes. They aren’t the Krytonian blue, but they were still familiar.
He blinks and squints and looks around, breathing picking up at the people surrounding him and the unfamiliar environment. M’gann, sensing his distress, kneels down and sets a warm hand on his leg.
“It’s okay. No one here will hurt you. You’re safe now.”
He doesn’t relax, but he seems to at least understand her. He studies their uniforms and then her face before his eyes flick to something behind her and they widen. His breath stutters in his chest, making him wheeze out on the exhale.
They look behind the green skinned girl to see the smaller pod still holding the little girl, no change in her status.
The boy reaches out a shaky hand toward it, scraping against the cold concrete in his lack of energy to lift it.
“She’s okay too.”
He opens his mouth to speak, licks his lips, tries again.
“-ou-,” he rasps. His breath hitches and he’s coughing again. They help him onto his side.
“You want us to get her out?” Red Robin interprets.
The boy squints through the tears from the lack of oxygen at the hero. His expression is scrunched in discomfort and worry. As enthusiastic as he can manage, the boy nods.
“Okay, we can do that. You just have to wait, she needs to thaw out, just like what we did with you,” Red Robin explains to the boy.
He nods again in understanding, his eyes glued back to the girl in the pod. He still shivers harshly and his breathing isn’t regular but he’s not panicking and in no shape to attack them, so it seems like they were in the clear with that one.
While the girl is thawing, they get him more comfortable with warm blankets and get him to drink some water for his throat. He still wasn’t moving much except to curl up on his side and breathe on his colorless fingers. Every time he swallowed he cringed like he was drinking acid, so talking was off the table for now.
The boy was fighting sleep by the time the container door slide open. Connor was there and holding her before she could fall like the boy had.
Superboy lays the girl down close to the boy, seeing the pale hand reaching for her. As soon as he backed away the medics were on her to get air in her lungs and warm her body same as they did for the boy.
The boy watches, quietly holding her hand. Siblings it looks like it. Seeing them side by side was startling. They seemed to be clones of each other, one just younger and the opposite gender, but they were the same.
It was concerning as the number of minutes increased and there was no change. She didn’t breathe or move. She looked dead.
“Get the defibrillator,” the medic ordered, urgent.
The boy surprisingly wasn’t panicking, instead he held a hard determination that made some of the heroes curious.
Pushing himself up onto his elbow, he leaned over the girl and started weakly pushing the blankets out of the way. Thinking he was just helping to make the medic’s job easier, M’gann helped until her torso was exposed.
“You need to back away so they-“
She stops when she sees him tug at the girl’s white shirt to get into direct contact with her skin, hand pressed to her chest.
“What are you-?”
He narrows his eyes in concentration.
Red Robin unconsciously takes a step back when the boy’s blue eyes change into a glowing toxic green, illuminating the girl’s face, frost shining in the light. The hand pressed to her chest also starts to glow the same green until it seeps into her skin like she’s absorbing this weird energy. It reminded them of Starfire actually.
The green in his eyes fades as soon as the unknown green energy is lighting up her entire torso just under the skin. He pulls away and looks expectantly at the medic holding the defibrillator. She flinches into moving, setting the machine down and charging it. She’s hesitant to touch the green energy but the boy nods in encouragement, not looking concerned for anything but the girl’s health.
“Clear!”
It takes one shock for the green energy to disperse through her body and cause her to gasp. The girl starts coughing harshly and the boy pulls her to lay on her side facing him. Connor quickly helps the boy to cover her in blankets. The boy goes as far as tucking them around her and taking one of his own blankets to pile on top. He was moving more easily now even if it was sluggish.
M’gann gasps quietly just as the girl starts sobbing, whining when the act of crying hurt her throat. The boy pulls her close, wrapping his arms around her and tucking her under his chin so they could barely see her. They watch as he calmly comforts her until they are both eased into unconsciousness.
Batman give Superman a pointed look as he passes him. Clark doesn’t respond.
“Get them to the Watchtower med bay,” he orders.
It’s Superman who picks up the pile of two children tangled together and wrapped in layers of fabric, nearly throwing them at how light they both weighted. The three younger heroes follow behind, Tim mumbling about “Lazarus pits” and “Jason”, M’gann twisting her fingers in anxiety, and Connor keeping a close eye on the two kids being carried by his original.
It’s unsurprising that it’s Connor who volunteers to say with them when they are settled down in the med bay, still clinging to each other in sleep.

Fictober23 Prompt: 7 - "Do you recognise this?"
Fandom: DPxDC
Rating: G
Warnings: -
"So, who did it?" Bruce asked, eyes narrowed at the children before him. Clark was next to him trying once more to persuade Bruce that it was unnecessary to go after the kids like this.
The 'kids' in question were the assembly of three of his children, Clark's child and clone and a couple of their respected friends.
"Father, I do not know what you are talking about." Damian piped up offended and crossed his arms. Next to him Jon scratched the back of his head in mild confusion and Dani despite not knowing what was going on but still glaring in defiance at Bruce.
"If this is about our prank war it was definitely not necessary to interrogate our friends too." Tim added looking every bit like he would be somewhere else than here. Kon and Bart were with him. Kon looked rather unsure while Bart had gone and gotten himself popcorn for whatever was going to happen.
"Look old man, how was I supposed to know Replacement would trigger the glitter bomb inside the Batmobile. I already cleaned that up!" Jason put in his two cents, Roy eyeing the other with a raised eyebrow.
Bruce stared at them quietly, not saying a word as Clark continued to fuss next to him to not make it a big deal and that a deep clean would surely fix everything.
"It's not your prank war I am talking about. Alfred will deal with you about the chaos you caused." The three respected batkids swallowed audibly while their friends chuckled. "No, what I am asking is which one of you decided it was a good idea to dye Clark's hero suit and my cape pink."
"Wait, someone actually did that to Dad?!" Jon piped up wide eyed as Dani broke out laughing causing Damian to eye the ghost girl with narrowed eyes and suspicion.
"Who would…" Tim started but didn't finish as his mind came up with possible suspects. Kon on Bart next to him went onto their phones, trying to search up pictures of Superman in a pink hero suit.
Jason and Roy broke out laughing too, voicing their respect to whoever managed to do that.
Bruce's eye twitch at the children's reaction. He then proceeded to pull out an opened can of pink dye and placed it on the table in perfect view of everyone. "Do you recognise this? Jason? Tim?"
"WHY ME?!" They both cried out in protest and Bruce narrowed his eyes on the two. "Jason, your last prank on Tim involved a glitter bomb with pink dye, the Batmobile's seats are still strained pink. Tim, you dyed Damian's shirts pink a couple days ago at the beginning of your prank war."
"So it was you Drake! You are going to pay for this!"
"And I will do it again if you ever touch my laptop again, Demon Brat!"
"How does that even prove that one of us did it!"
"It doesn't!"
"Do you think there might be someone else that fell victim to the pink dye in the JL?"
"Maybe?"
"Why would someone even go after Clark? He has nothing to do with our prank war."
"Jason, my friend. You are indirectly admitting that you would dye Batman's cape pink."
Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose as the children before him (he ignored that at least two of them were over 20, they were children period) started to argue among themselves while Damian's newest friend the Daughter of Phantom, who recently joined the Justice League Dark, was by now rolling on the ground laughing.
Not far from the interrogation Danny sat by a table next to Alfred snacking on some of the best cookies he had ever gotten to eat. He had originally come by to hang out with Tim, Kon and Bart but now he was threaded to some A+ entertainment, Dani was clearly enjoying.
"You recognize the can, don't you Mr. Daniel? I believe you accidentally left it behind in the cave." Danny side eyed the butler next to him and grinned into his next bite of a cookie. "Supes deserved it."
The man hummed and Danny smiled as he was offered another cookie. "I believe I know why but would you please elaborate on why Master Bruce also got targeted? I will most likely be the one who will have to wash out the cape."
The half ghost didn't say anything at first before shrugging. "Kon wasn't the only one who deserved some Justice for how he had been treated in the past. I know they get along now but still… a little pay back for past mistreatment wouldn't hurt anyone right?"
"Ah, so it was for Mr. Conner and Master Jason." The butler smiled in understanding, pushing over a box of take away cookies to Danny. "May I suggest that next time you seek out justice for the boy, that there are other -embarrassing- ways to achieve it."
Danny only gave the man a feral grin as he hopped off the chair with the box in hand. It was time to release the children of Bruce's interrogation. He would just put the blame on Constantine somehow, like a spell gone wrong instead of actual dye being the cause. The man owned him anyway since he had gotten most of his soul back aside from a couple of pieces he was still negotiating over in the Ghost Zone.

Superpham AU (part 7)
Masterpost
A short one today, but I thought this section was funny (until it got sad again).
-----
It’s a quiet evening in the Lane-Kent household: Lois is trying to turn her notes into an article, Clark is going over Jon’s math homework, and Jon is watching a show Lois is only half-following.  It features lots of gunfire and explosions, though Lois’s— unfortunately extensive— experience with witnessing real violence makes the version on TV look cartoonish.  She suspects that is part of the show’s appeal.
Danny is paying about as much attention to the TV as Lois is, engrossed in something on his phone.  At least he’s in the same room as the rest of them, instead of sequestering himself away.
“Hey Lois?” Danny suddenly asks.
Lois looks up from her work.  “What’s up?”
“Did you know the internet thinks you’re Superman’s girlfriend?”
Lois knows that if she looks at Clark, he’ll be turning red, the way he always does whenever this particular subject comes up.  Lois herself is barely holding back a laugh.  Jon’s wrinkling his nose, looking thoroughly embarrassed by his parents.
“Well, I am,” she says, barely keeping herself composed.
“No, I mean—” Danny begins.
“You mean people say that I’m dating Superman and married to Clark?”  Lois glances at Clark, who is now hiding his face in his hands.  “Someone forgot to check for cameras after rescuing me a few years back, and we got caught kissing on film.  It was let people think Superman is a homewrecker or let them think I’m in a polyamorous relationship with my husband and his alter ego.”
“That’s… really weird.”  Danny is giving her the kind of judgmental look only teenagers can give.
Lois does laugh at that.  “It is, a bit.  But it helps protect Clark’s secret identity, so I don’t mind.”
“Don’t listen to her,” Clark finally says.  “There were other ways to handle that situation; she just thinks this is funny.”
“Even your parents think it’s funny,” Lois says.  Clark just sighs, faux-aggrieved.
“It’s not even the weirdest thing on the internet about Superman,” Danny says.  “It’s just the weirdest thing everyone agrees is true.”
“Please do not tell me what else you’ve found,” Clark says.
“You can tell me,” Lois says.  “We can just make Clark leave for a bit.”  Reading conspiracy theories about Superman is her guilty pleasure, though if anyone asks, she does it to keep tabs on anyone who might have a viable way of hurting him.
Danny just laughs, and something in Lois’s chest seizes up.  Is this the first time she’s heard him laugh since he came back?  She thinks it might be.
She doesn’t want to call attention to it; like as not, that would just make him pull away again.  Instead she says, “Superman doesn’t even get the best conspiracy theories.  Those are all Batman.”  That’s because Bruce purposefully cultivates them, of course, but that’s not important.
“Which one is he, again?” Danny asks.
It’s not that Lois ever forgets that Danny has spent most of his life in another dimension.  But little offhand comments like that… they really drive it home.  There are plenty of superheroes, even Justice League members, that most of the general public has never heard of— but Batman is not one of them.
She's saved from answering by Clark.
"You'll meet him eventually," Clark says.  "He's a good friend of mine.  And Jon and Kon are close to his two youngest sons, Robin and Red Robin."
Danny nods thoughtfully.  "Right.  I think Red Robin's in the group chat Kon added me to."
Lois reminds herself to thank Kon next time she sees him.  He and Danny seem to have connected, and Kon seems to have made it his personal mission to keep Danny from slipping too far into one of his funks again.
"Speaking of Kon," Clark begins.  "Ma and Pa want to know when we'll be able to make it to Smallville to visit."
They've been trying not to overwhelm Danny by introducing him to too many new people at once, but maybe that was the wrong choice.  Maybe they should be pushing him to get out more, to connect with this dimension.  Besides, Kon spends most of his time in Smallville, and they already know that he and Danny get along.
Lois re-evaluates the article she’s been working on.  Perry would probably appreciate it sooner rather than later, but if she turns in a smaller article this week, she can probably swing a weekend off.  If not, she can always work on it from Kansas.
“This weekend should work,” Lois says.  “If that’s alright with you, Danny.”
Danny looks a little surprised to be consulted.  “I— yeah, that works.  Not like I have anywhere else to be.”  He laughs a little, but the joke falls flat, and Lois resolves to double down on helping Danny connect with more people here in this dimension.

So this prompt involves some villain attempting to invade earth, with them using their power to summon Earth’s greatest hero for a one on one fight for the planet that’s televised across the whole world. Everyone expects Superman to show up…instead a kid with black hair and blue eyes who’s 16 at most shows up. Basically, some villain forces Danny to fight them and Danny is forced to decide if he wants to out himself in front of the whole world to save the planet while the league watches in horror as what they presume to be some powerless kid fight someone the whole league would have trouble beating on a good day. What do you think?
OH MY GOSH This reminds me of The Apocalyptic Support Group by Voidborn. It's only one chapter right now, but that fic has me by a chokehold with just the one. However, unlike this idea, that fic has four "random" civilians. Billy Batson, Clark Kent, Danny Fenton, and Tim Drake. Whatever will these civilians do! (They all have black hair and blue eyes? Huh, crazy coincidence...)
But as for your idea, I like the concept of Danny... faking it? Like he's manipulating his surroundings as surreptitiously as possible and beating the villain that way. But as far as people can tell, it's just crazy good luck on his part? Or he's just really resourceful? But in reality, Danny is like- using his telekinesis to manipulate objects to move in the background out of sight or his cryokinesis to stir up objects within the ground so that it breaks a certain way to help his evade a blow. All sorts of tricks like that.
In the end, Danny wins the fight, but he acts like it's just crazy good luck/coincidence, and people begin to suspect that luck is his power. Like how John Constantine can manipulate luck to his favor, the same way Domino from the Marvel comics can. And maybe people want to take advantage of him for that, or try to harness his powers for their gain. But it never seems to work, and people can't figure out why.
And maybe others can piece together clues to suggest that Danny had been doing subtle little tricks all along, and they begin to realize that Danny really is crazy powerful to do all of this and manage to, largely, get away with it. He's obviously not a threat to superheroes, but maybe they should be reaching out and making sure he's okay. Metahumans aren't always treated kindly, after all, even if there are measures in place to ensure they have better and equal rights.
Of course, there is always the option that Danny just decides he has no more fucks to give and just goes: "Eh, why not?" And then absolutely wallops the villain on international television, and all the people back in Amity Park are either cheering for their boy or swallowing and praying he doesn't want revenge for some of the stuff they've done to him *cough*Dash*cough*. Ugh, sorry, I was clearing my throat. XD
Obviously this would be the funnier version, but there would be more consequences to it once he goes back home and people realize how powerful he is. However, this does offer more opportunities if Danny tries to play it off like: "Yeah, I have powers, but I'm not really interested in being a hero. Is that such a bad thing?" And that raises awareness of how metahumans shouldn't have to automatically be heroes just because they have powers? There are plenty of powers that don't lend well to heroism too, after all! But perhaps people try to pressure him into becoming a hero, or using his powers in his day to day life, and it's a whole thing.
I have to be honest with you, I really like the idea of a highly publicized identity reveal. Which is why I hate Phantom Planet. XDD You'd think I'd like it for that exact reason, but it's not really the concept that I disliked but the execution of it. But anyways, I'm rambling.
I like people realizing that Danny has powers, but not realizing how he has powers. For example, there was a fic a while back where people found out Danny was a halfa but didn't realize he was Phantom (can't remember who wrote it now, sorry about that). I adore identity shenanigans like that, and I feel like this type of AU would lend really well to that possibility.
I also really like Social Media fics, and I feel like there is a lot that could be explored in a highly televised fight like this. The Survivalists is a really good example of this, in my opinion. Just... exploring the populace's conjecture and theories, and just their reactions to everything that is going on without the context. I'm always excited for fics like that, and I definitely think this AU could do something similar.

IRT THE SCHOOL THING. okay. okay hear me out. I KNOW worm places an emphasis on identities and I KNOW its more like. serious not silly when it comes to things. however. we have already put these little guys through so many blender settings i think we are allowed to get a little silly with it. what if we give them a "Clark Kent is just superman with glasses" "danny fenton/danny phantom" type secret identity immunity. ONLY when it comes to school. nobody notices unless it is narratively relevant for them to notice. they're just the weird kids holding hands in the back of class. that one guy eats lunch in the bathroom by himself if the other two can't make it to school for whatever reason. the red one threw a fit in the office when he got scheduled for a remedial math class that the other two already passed. I heard the purple one brought a knife to school once. no way he could be a ward that's criminal activity! STUFF LIKE THAT. WHERE ITS LIKE. huh? those guys? NAHHHHH never. youre ridiculpus for even suggesting that !! nobody suspects a thing. they are immune.
this is maybe not worm accurate but it's just SO endlessly fun to me. and also I want to put them in school and have them be miserable and weird about it
alsothis is so unrelated but thinking about school made me think about doug and summer bc I love them and ! after dougs Whole Thing I think they should be rogues and/or an independent team together :] I just think theyre neat
YEAHHHHH yeah yeah i love this a lot :]]] good shit... & it is our au!!!!!!!! nothing has 2 be 1:1!! there r. already a couple things irt future events that i'm already like "u know what. this is so heavy that thinking abt it will be no fun. i think maybe this just do not happen here <3" abt. god bless
AND ALSO YEAG... IT IS SO FUNNY.... IT IS SO SILLYGOOFY. like oh man. delinquents like them could neverrrrrrrrrrr be heroes. they're weird and kind of mean and lame and get terrible grades and don't talk to anyone ever? yeah sure imprint and failsafe also have like a seven inch height difference and the exact same hair. maybe they're cape kinnies? weird. god i love putting characters in school and having them be weird and miserable about it........ they r all hanging off each other in deeply obnoxious pda ways in the hallways... u KNOW none of them r paying attention in any class they r all texting under their desks!!!

Lurker back at in my bullshit,
You have given me the brain worms now and I can't stop thinking of the entity cursed timeline where Danny and Clark Kent meet each other, care to join me in this train crash of idea?
Omg… this sounds… fun.
I have to warn you that I’m not actually super well versed in superman mythos and his power set so I could totally misrepresent something. That said…
If it’s an AU where Danny is now just in the DC Comics verse…
I don’t think Clark would have any suspicion when the new hire at the Daily Planet turns out to be Jed Olsen. I think Jimmy would very much make a running joke out of Olsen Squared. I think Danny would generally be of the idea that Superman has better stuff to do than worry about a random serial killer… but I do think Clark would take an interest in the Ghostface murders since he’s Jesus a very good guy. I’m just not sure how much resources Superman can commit to that when like… Lex Luther is doing evil activity #2365 of the week…. I actually feel like Danny would be at more of a risk from Lois taking an interest in his murders tbh. Like I can imagine Jimmy and Lois teaming up and they totally just end up exposing Danny/Jed for what he is.
If he manages to escape, well, let’s just hope Danny doesn’t go to Gotham or Blüdhaven.
Conversely, if it’s a regular Danny in the Fog situation where somebody from DC Comics has been entity snatched?
The idea of Superman in the fog is a bit too broken, like… the knife would bounce right? Danny takes a stab at this goofy pencil pusher looking guy in thick glasses and the blade of his knife just fucking bends backwards. Maybe he manages to damage Clark’s clothes enough to see the bright red S underneath his dress shirt. I think Danny would have a stroke from the outrage right then and there tbh.
Although… assuming the entity can nuke Clark’s powers… like idk if this is canon to the comics but I remember the awful man of steel movie suggesting that if Earth had been the same as planet Krypton then Clark would have just been a total normie. So maybe removing Clark from earth into the Entity’s realm would have the same effect and make his powers basically null and void? If so, I suspect the Entity would be eating good because I can’t imagine how overwhelming and confusing the situation would be for poor Clark, you’re used to being the saviour of men and now you can barely handle getting shanked and put on a meat hook. Like this man’s emotions are going to be a delicious banquet of optimism, righteous anger, fear, and despair.

Not All Heroes Wear Capes, Sometimes They Wear Ties and Pantsuits
Not my usual style of writing, but I hope it came out fine. Enjoy.
Edward Lancer knew something was wrong. It started with students who rarely, if ever, acted out suddenly stealing from the teacher’s lounge. It escalated to property damage, and—finally—it went to ghosts.
He tried the Justice League a few times but never got a response.
(His students' calls to the heroes went unanswered. Men in white suits showed up instead.)
Then, one day, every teacher, faculty member, and volunteer for the school was sat in an assembly by the frauds—he meant government agents.
“If we find you helping the ghosts, especially this so-called Danny Phantom,” they spat the ghost boy’s name, “you will be arrested and tried as a traitor to the United States of America.”
The elder Fentons stood by the agents’ sides.
(Lancer’s students’ calls became frantic. He knew it was pointless; he suspected interference from the GIW.)
He watched as the Danny Phantom protected the town with his entire afterlife. He watched as Danny Fenton’s bags grew bigger and bigger every day.
Edward Lancer saw how his student’s bright eyes became dimmer and dimmer every day.
(The Fenton’s and GIW were causing more property damage than the ghosts.)
Every other day marked a new ghost attack.
(Every day marked the whine of a new ghost gadget pointed at civilians by the so-called ghost hunters.)
Would the Justice League be okay with the threat to civilians? Lancer liked to think they wouldn’t be.
(Ms. Manson’s and Mr. Foley’s grades plummeted. They had new bruises every other day.)
Would the Justice League help if there wasn’t interference by the assholes government agents?
(Mr. Fenton’s shoulders curved more inward every day.)
Edward Lancer had to help.
(Ms. Jazz Fenton’s eyes grew more and more desperate every day.)
____
Metropolis was a big city. It could probably fit ten Amity Parks within its borders.
It was good for his students to see the outside world. The freshmen were excited to see the city.
Mr. Fenton looked out the window with bright eyes.
(The letter in his pocket burned an imaginary hole.)
Ms. Manson took pictures of the Daily Planet’s globe.
(If he could only get Superman’s or Lois Lane’s attention.)
Mr. Foley salivated at all the new tech he saw being used.
(An attack happened. Lex Luthor had his expensive boxers in a twist.)
“All right, class. Stay calm! Remember your training and get to a safe place! Ms. Tetslaff, I’ll make sure there are no students that have been left behind.”
“Alright, you lily-footed princesses, this is where all my training comes into play. Run, now!”
Mr. Fenton hesitated. Lancer shook his head.
Mr. Fenton nodded and went after his classmates.
Edward Lancer walked against the running crowd. He had to get to Superman. He saw the Man of Steel fighting in the sky against a suit of armor. Lancer hid between two pieces of debris, watching the fight.
(There’s a boy who fights in the sky in his small town.)
He watched the fight with a critical eye, waiting for his opportunity.
He waited…waited…waited…
There! The fight was done.
Superman watched, confused, as a balding man wearing a black tie and gray pantsuit looked him straight in the eyes and deliberately left a letter on the floor.
“I have to believe you and the Justice League will not be okay with what we are going through,” his super hearing picked up. The man turned around and walked calmly between the wreckage.
The haunted look in the man’s eyes would stay with Clark Kent for a long time.
Dp x dc idea 102
Mr.lancer knew something was wrong. Especially after the ghost started showing up at school. Especially when every teacher was sat down in an assembly and spoken to by the government.
They were not to interfere.
This was all apart of a government approved program.
When ghost showed up or interacted if they intervened they would be arrested. Then tried as a traitor to the United States.
He saw his students make calls the the JL hotline. He saw nothing happen. He couldn’t be sure if the league knew and didn’t care or If the calls were being blocked.
He was hoping the calls were just blocked. Mr lancer saw how the kids who’s were frequently around these ghost were hurt. Explosions, kidnappings and just the mental toll. At any moment a ghost attack could happen. The way their eyes would shine just a tad to bright.
Government agents the Giw and the Fenton parents active threats as well. Would the JL actually be okay with this? He didn’t think so.
Every year of Casper highs life the freshman have always gone out of city for an overnight field trip. To get away from small town life. They’d always go to metropolis.
So. He plotted.
Hopefully he’d find a way to make contact with a super or even Lois lane.
As luck would have it. Superman got in a fight against a robot. Nothing worse then they have seen before, he shooed the kiddos away. And waited.
Making direct eye contact with one of the supers/Lois pointing at an envelope on his hand and setting it down. Then he turned around walking away.
Hopefully they would help.

Why it makes sense that the people of Amity Park don’t realize that Fenton and Phantom are the same person, A.K.A. The people of Amity Park aren’t actually stupid! An essay
First off I’d like to say, the only reason any of us actually know that Fenton and Phantom are the same person is because we have a third person point of view of events in Amity Park. We have a whole ass theme song that introduces Danny and tells us how he became Phantom. We get to watch as he becomes a hero and saves people. We see him transform every episode into Phantom. So yes it’s obvious to us because we’ve been shown it from the very beginning. But if any of us existed in the Phantom universe we would have no idea nor would we suspect it. And I know a lot of people would pry say “that’s not true, I would totally figure it out”! But really no, you wouldn’t, and here’s why.
Ghost verses human
To the people of Amity Park Phantom is just a ghost, and Fenton is just a human boy.
From an outsiders (meaning the average person in Amity Park) view Phantom is nothing more than a ghost. While he might not act like any of the other ghosts around Amity Park, he does look like one and have the powers and abilities of one. He glows like a ghost does. He can fly like any other ghost. He sometimes has legs and sometimes he has a spectral tail. Logically no one in Amity Park has any reason to believe that Phantom is anything other than a ghost or that he even needs a secret identity. Because why would a ghost need one, he’s dead?!
It’s the same reason why no one realizes that Superman and Clark Kent are the same person. Because no one really thinks that Superman or Phantom have secret identity’s. Most people probably just assume that Superman goes back to his fortress of solitude at the end of the day, the same way people pry just assume that Phantom just goes back to the ghost zone at the end of the day.
Fenton on the other hand is obviously a living human. He has parents and a birth certificate that states he was born 14 years ago. He lives in a house in Amity Park in the human world. He goes to school. He has a heart beat. He breaths. He eats and sleeps. All around the people of Amity see him as nothing more than a living human boy. They have no reason to think he’s anything more than that.
Now an argument could be made that there are some people in Amity who might think that Phantom isn’t actually a ghost and that Fenton just has ghost powers and made up an alter ego and is pretending to be a ghost so he can fight and stop the ghosts from destroying his home town. To them it would explain why Phantom is so different from all the other ghosts, since he’s not really a ghost himself.
But Fenton isn’t just a human who has ghost powers. He is literally half human half ghost, half alive half dead. The only people who know this and that it’s possible for that to be a thing are Danny, Sam, Tucker, Jazz, Vlad, and the other ghosts. To anyone else the idea of someone being half human half ghost is impossible both logically and scientifically. There aren’t many people who are going to assume that that’s something that exists. To them the logical thing is that Fenton is human and Phantom is a ghost therefore they are two separate people.
Time travel and historical accounts of Phantom
Thanks to Danny traveling back in time there are most likely historical documents and evidence of Phantom having existed thousands of years in the past. We know he went back to Ancient Roman times and fought with Vlad in a collasium. So there are more than likely documents and things accounting the things he did during that time. Most people in Amity Park pry assume, thanks to these historical documents, that Phantom was born thousands of years ago and then died and became a ghost, thousands of years ago.
So it would make sense that they wouldn’t think that a human boy whose only been alive for 14 years could be this thousands of years old ghost. They don’t have the background knowledge that we do to know that Phantom was only able to be in those time periods because of time travel. They aren’t going to just jump straight to the idea of time travel. They’re going to go with the more plausible and obvious possibility of Phantom having become a ghost way back in that time period. Because they don’t know that ghost portals can go to places in the past so it’s not something they would think of.
In all honesty most people pry assume that the reason Fenton and Phantom look so similar is that Phantom is probably one of Fenton’s ancestors. We all know that it’s possible for people to look like almost exact copy’s of their grandparent or great grandparents or hell even just their parents. Genetics are weird like that. I myself have been told that I look a lot like (not exactly just pretty damn similar) a grandma I never got to meet. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for Fenton to look like an ancestor of his.
And while from the looks of it Phantom died at the age of 14 and pry didn’t have the chance to have kids, people would probably come to the conclusion that when he was alive Phantom had siblings or even cousins who went on to have children. To most people this would be a more logical conclusion to come to than the idea that Fenton was somehow half dead/ghost.
Why Wes knows Fenton and Phantom are the same person
It’s possible that at some point after Danny got his powers, that Wes fell through a portal into the ghost zone. He then would have tried to exit the ghost zone through the first portal he could find, which very well might not have been the one he came in through since portals open and close very quickly. It’s possible that he stepped through a portal through time saw that he’d been taken backwards in time and quickly course corrected back into the ghost zone before the portal could close. He might have even gone through this several times before finding a portal that took him back home and to the correct time.
So now he knows that time travel is possible via ghost portal. Which means he knows very well that it’s possible that Phantom isn’t actually thousands of years old. That he very well could be a more recently made ghost who just used the ghost portals in the ghost zone to travel back in time.
And Fenton and Phantom do sound very similar and both have the first name Danny. And they also look similar. And since Phantom is potentially a recently made ghost that means he’s not an ancestor of Fenton’s like everyone thought. Which leads him to realizes that it’s possible for the two to be the same person.
He might not realize that they are half human half ghost, since as stated before that’s a thing that most people don’t know are logically or scientifically possible. He more than likely could just thinks that Fenton died fully and just hasn’t accepted his death and is walking around most of the time pretending to still be alive. Or like mentioned earlier in this essay, could just believe that Phantom isn’t actually a ghost but just a human with ghost powers.
In conclusion
While it might seem obvious to us that Fenton and Phantom are the same person, and while to us it might seem stupid to think otherwise, it’s not such an obvious thing for the people of Amity Park. The people of Amity Park are not stupid or oblivious for not immediately jumping to the idea that Fenton and Phantom are the same person. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, and have a pleasant evening!!!

off the rack #1276
Monday, August 26, 2019
Sorry for the lateness. I went fishing this morning with my buddy David and he brought his fly rod that he got recently. He's a novice but he caught two sunfish using it. That made me very happy as they were the first fish that he caught that way. Penny and I went to see a matinee at our local theatre earlier and I had to have words with a teenager who talked and then took out his phone during the screening. The second time he turned on his phone after I had asked him to put it away the first time he showed me no respect so I went and got a staff member to deal with him. By the time we got back to the theatre he had left with his friend but he still abused me verbally while standing at the exit doors. The kid couldn't have been more than 13. The language and disrespect was what upset me the most. I suspected they snuck into the theatre and the fact that they left before staff could deal with him confirmed my suspicions. I didn't care that they snuck in. If this kid had just sat and watched the movie I would not have had a problem with him. I must be an asshole magnet because the kid and his friend were the only other people in the theatre and they sat close to us.
I picked up a copy of Marvel's "Heralds" trade paperback while working at the store last week and while reading the credits I see that it was lettered by Virtual Calligraphy's Clayton Cowles. So that's what the "VC's" stands for.
Batman #77 - Tom King (writer) Mikel Janin & Tony S. Daniel (pencils) Mikel Janin, Norm Rapmund & Tony S. Daniel (inks) Jordie Bellaire & Tomeu Morey (colours) Clayton Cowles (letters). A death in the family and this issue is in super high demand because of it. Damian tries to fight Thomas Wayne/Batman while Bruce is recovering under Selina's care. The prospect of the Bat Family gathering has me all excited.
Daredevil #10 - Chip Zdarsky (writer) Jorge Fornes (art) Jordie Bellaire (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). We get a glimpse of real Daredevil action when Detective North is threatened by corrupt cops in his own precinct while Matt is there. Matt gets a visit from an ex that had me chuckling on the last page.
Fearless #2 - This is an excellent anthology for young readers, particularly young female readers.
"Campfire Song" part 2 by Seanan McGuire (writer), Claire Roe (art), Rachelle Rosenberg (colours) & Cardinal Rae (letters) sends Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel to the leadership camp where Captain Marvel, Storm and Susan Storm/the Invisible Woman are going to give keynote speeches. Something nefarious may be afoot.
I liked "Night Nurse: A Cape of Her Own" by Karla Pacheco (writer), Iolanda Zanfardino (art) Rachelle Rosenberg (colours) & Cardinal Rae (letters). It's always a treat to see Night Nurse mending super powered people.
To help get over the end of X-23's book Eve L. Ewing (writer), Alitha Martinez (art), Rosenberg (colours) & Cardinal Rae (letters) show us what Laura and Gabby are up to now.
Ghost-Spider #1 - Seanan McGuire (writer) Takeshi Miyazawa (art) Ian Herring (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). So Spider-Gwen is now Ghost-Spider. She has dual dimensionship between Earth-65 and Earth-616. In her own dimension of Earth-65 everyone knows that she's Ghost-Spider but in Earth-616 where her secret identity is safe, she's just Gwen Stacy, freshman at Empire State University. Peter Parker helps to get her enrolled and now she can go back and forth taking classes and fighting crime. This is a good place to start if you're looking for another female super hero to follow but there wasn't anything really special in here to make me add this title to my every burgeoning pile of comics books that I want to read.
Strayed #1 - Carlos Giffoni (writer) Juan Doe (art) Matt Krotzer (letters). In this new Dark Horse science-fiction book military scientist Kiara Rodriguez invents a device that allows her to talk to her cat Lou. The cat is special because it can astrally travel through space. Kiara's superiors are using her cat to conquer other planets and exploit their resources. They're the bad mans. This sounds familiar to me with Kiara's race being like Galactus and Lou like the Silver Surfer. I'm not much of a cat person so I'll pass on the rest of this story.
Guardians of the Galaxy #8 - Donny Cates (writer) Cory Smith (art) David Curiel (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Rocket's back and we even get a mini origin story for the little furball. This issue also reveals what the Universal Church of Truth's very bad plans are. I loved seeing the cocoon. With the impending battle with Death, I'm wondering if Thanos is going to show up. This would be a cool way to bring the Mad Titan back.
The Avant-Guards #7 - Carly Usdin (writer) Noah Hayes (art) Eleonora Bruni (colours) Ed Dukeshire (letters). The one and only basketball based comic book on the racks and it's a three points shot at the buzzer to win the game. I love the message about team work in this issue.
Powers of X #3 - Jonathan Hickman (writer) R.B. Silva (art) Marte Gracia (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). This issue clears things up for me. Nimrod is the big bad guy and Apocalypse is a good guy in this story. I'm so glad they took last issue to explain Moira's character and her mutant ability because she's crucial to everything going on. If you're not reading this and House of X, you're missing out on a major event in Marvel Mutant History.
Marvel Action Spider-Man #7 - Delilah S. Dawson (writer) Fico Ossio (art) Ronda Pattison (colours) Shawn Lee (letters). Introducing Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. Her bad luck powers have Peter, Gwen and Miles all tangled up. They're going to have to learn to work together to keep her from stealing again.
The Superior Spider-Man #10 - Christos Gage (writer) Mike Hawthorne (pencils) Wade von Grawbadger (inks) Jordie Bellaire (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Man, Spidergeddon sure did cast a wide net. So the super villain for this story is revealed to be the Norman Osborn of Earth-44145. He wants revenge for being humiliated by the Superior Spider-Man during the debacle with the Inheritors. But first Norman is going to kill everybody that Otto cares about. It's a tried and true basis for many a comic book story but it still works great.
Superman Year One #2 - Frank Miller (writer) John Romita Jr. (pencils) Danny Miki (inks) Alex Sinclair (colours) John Workman (letters). Okay, so Clark trains to be a Navy Seal so that Frank Miller can set it up for him to meet and fall in love with Lori Lemaris and clash with her father Poseidon. It was a slog for me to read through this issue. I think Miller was trying for something epic like The Odyssey by Homer. I found that Clark's time in the navy was contrived, which soured my enjoyment.
Valkyrie #2 - Jason Aaron & Al Ewing (writers) Cafu (art) Jesus Aburtov (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). Why is it that the death in Batman #77 is bigger than the death in this comic book? Bullseye somehow got his hands on Valkyrie's sword Dragonfang and Jane Foster has to take it away from the killer or else a heck of a lot of innocent lives will be forfeit. The last line of this issue made me groan.
Year of the Villain: Sinestro #1 - Mark Russell (writer) Yildiray Cinar (art) Julio Ferreira (inks pages 21 - 26) Hi-Fi (colours) Steve Wands (letters). A solo story of Sinestro doing Lex Luthor's bidding. This story uses sentient nanobots which to me was a silly concept. I thought they did a good job showing how smart and arrogant Sinestro is but unless you're a Green Lantern fan you don't need to read this.
Year of the Villain: Black Mask #1 - Tom Taylor (writer) Cully Hamner (art) Dave Stewart (colours) Wes Abbott (letters). This is a good origin story and sets up the villain for what's coming next. These Year of the Villain one shots are a good way for new fans to learn about these characters which should give them a better understanding of their involvement in the big picture.

Note
Is Danny Fenton identical to Danny Phantom? (I'm not talking about the times when they've split; I'm talking about the normal state of affairs.) What makes two people the same person? Do they need to have the same body? The same brain? The same immaterial soul? The same chain of memories? If you could somehow split Fenton and Phantom so they both had identical personalities, who would be the real Danny? Can a person survive when split into two? Or do they "die" because they're no longer unique?
Oh boy, that’s a lot of questions. Fortunately, I’ve actually talked at least a little bit about all of this before.
To answer your main question, Danny isn’t two people. Any more than any other superhero is.
Tumblr media
Clark Kent and Superman appear to have different personalities and lives to those around them, so nobody realizes they’re the same person. Nobody has any reason to suspect that Superman has a secret identity.
Things are similar for Danny, because he’s a ghost. Why would someone suspect that a ghost is living a secret life and going to Casper High? And even if they did have a reason to suspect that, their appearances are different enough that it flies over everyone’s heads.
Tumblr media
The Guys in White get as far as suspecting that Danny Phantom is an associate of Tucker Foley, and they even go to Danny’s house to question him. They dismiss the idea that they could be the same person solely based on his appearance. Danny Fenton looks physically smaller, weaker, and according to the GIW, even younger than Danny Phantom.
Danny’s able to alter his appearance, or more specifically, materialize a ghost around his body. They have the same mind, though. They’re the same person.
Tumblr media
When Danny becomes two people, the show itself states that he actually split himself in half. He removed the ghost half from his body, but since they are one person, that also removed half his mind.
Danny is Danny, whether he’s a ghost or a human. When you split the two, all you have is two halves of Danny.
As for whether or not that’d kill him, well, it obviously wouldn’t. Danny’s split himself in half more than once, and he’s turned out okay in the end.
What’s more, I don’t think it’s actually possible for him to completely split himself in half. Dan still aged after losing his human half, so no matter how empty he wants to claim he is, there has to be something that’s still human inside of him. Poindexter didn’t age, and his spirit has been around since the 50s. And Desiree died of old age, yet she still looks young as a ghost.
The whole thing is kind of confusing, but these sorts of things just have to be accepted when you’re dealing with a story about ghosts that takes a sort of science fiction approach. It’s trying to explain the “science” behind ghosts. It’s gonna get weird.

Art by NICK DERINGTON
Cover by NICK DERINGTON and GERARD WAY
A blenderized reimagining of the ultimate series of the strange, DOOM PATROL combines elements from classic runs, new directions and things that could not be. "You and some buddies could do a LOT of good if you helped us clean some of it up. You'd even get a snack out of it!"
Danny, totally on board for free cash and food: "Okay! I'd love to help out! I'll start right now! Luther, huh?" *flies off*

Batman: ".........you realize he's going to break.... So Many laws, right? You just sent a kryptonite eating extrademensional being after not only Luthor... but at least half the top arms dealers on the planet."
Supes, unrepentant: "Yep."
Batman, unsure if he's horrified or impressed: "At least a few hidden branches of quite a few governments too."
Supes, gleeful: "Mhmm~"
Bruce "Not My Circus Not My Monkeys" Wayne: "Just keep them out of my cave, got it?"
Supes: "This is one of the best days of my LIFE :D You think Lex'll cry?"

Jazz feels a migraine coming on.
She rubs her temples, trying to breathe slowly and deeply.
It was typical of Danny to dump problems on her, and being in their ~30s did not change that.
She knew that the field trip was a bad idea! They were toddlers for Ancient’s sake, the whole point of this program was to help the more Liminal children grow into their erstwhile powers so that they could hide.
Not get rowdy at the Metropolis Art Museum and get caught by a meta working for the government!
She also strongly suspected that the meta in question was actually not a meta at all but an alien. Specifically Superman.
Seriously, seriously, glasses and a hunch for a disguise? How did that even work?
Though, considering Danny’s disguise was white hair and being dead maybe she shouldn’t judge.
In her defense, those are way more compelling of an argument than glasses and ill fitting suits.
At least the NDAs were solid, and the Justice League wouldn’t come raining down on them. The GIW was already a handful to deal with and they were mostly incompetent. Hopefully they don’t give any reason for Superman to inform his buddy Batman about them.
A knock on her door brought her out of her thoughts, and she took a deep breath before pasting on a professional smile.
“Come in!” Okay, Jasmine. Meta school. I can do that. In and Out, steady heartbeat. He can hear it. Walk around the truth.
The door opened, and Superman--Clark Kent walked into her office holding a struggling 3 year old. Presumably, Jon Kent. Cute.
“Hello, Miss Fenton. Say hello, Jon!” The child in his arms harrumphed, but properly raised his hand with a happy little ‘i!
Clearly, H’s were still a work in progress.
“Hello Mr. Kent, and hello to you too, Mr. Kent! Are you ready for your first day?”
“Clark, please. I’m sure Jon wouldn’t mind you using his first name too, isn’t that right champ?” Jon seemed to finally settle in his father’s arms, clutching at the baggy plaid shirt and looking at Jazz confusedly with another i?
Well. We’ll work on that too.
She grabbed a clipboard before directing the Kents out the door, walking down the hall to Danny’s class as Jazz went over the game plan for the day once more.
“As I said when you visited with your wife last week, you’ll be sitting in on Teacher Danny’s class today, for about an hour. You’ll only be joining for circle time, but if necessary he could also join for lunch time right after. We have some extra portions set aside just in case.” They arrived at a bright neon green door that was ajar, one of the only two in the building, decorated with a variety of snowflakes each holding a child’s name.
Billy’s name was already moved to the door opposite, which boasted large yellow stars instead. At the top of the door was Danny’s name with a little crown sticker pasted over the D. Star’s name on the opposite door had a little Moon over the a and r.
“Oh no, that’s fine, we’ll be heading straight to Grandma’s after this,” Clark smiled at the doors, seemingly charmed. She smiled and gestured them inside.
“Circle time in our,” she glanced at Jon, “special needs classes are focused specifically on familiarizing the children with their...abilities.” Clark froze for a moment, before nodding at Jazz’s explanation.
“For the most part, we try to encourage the kids to feel safe inside the school, with parents encouraging the same inside their homes. We don’t want to constantly limit them, when it might backfire and cause them to lose control.” That seemed to surprise Clark, which had Jazz smiling a little sadly.
“We don’t want the kids to feel scared of their powers, just to be aware of them. The teachers mostly focus on limiting any possible dangers than the kids using their powers.”
The room was empty and a little cluttered. A large circular rug with a snowflake pattern lay in the middle of the room, and on one side there was a kitchen-esque counter and sink. On the other side sat a low table with tiny chairs surrounding it.
“Could you be more specific on what you mean by encouraging the children regarding their abilities?” Clark asked, seemingly a little confused. He set a squirming Jon down near the cubby area, where big colorful bins were filled with a variety of toys.
“Well, mostly when the children exhibit their abilities we don’t scold them or tell them to stop unless it’s dangerous."
There was a door that lead to the outside, the playground area, where the children currently were. Though she could already hear Danny and Star gathering the children to come inside.
“They’re about to come back in, so you can probably just see for yourself soon enough. It might get a little loud--you said Jon’s hearing was fairly mundane?” Jazz brought up her clipboard to check the freshly printed page listing the children and their known abilities.
Georgie - Flight. Minor telekinesis.
Jon - Flight. Advanced Strength. Invulnerability. Possible Heat Vision.
Jordan - Invisibility. Minor Ecto-manipulation. Possible advanced hearing.
Luna - Intangibility. Advanced Jaw strength.
Marina - Flight. Esperanto.
Clark nodded, “So far, it seems to be by normal human standards.”
“I know it’s only been a week, but per protocol I need confirmation that nothing has changed since the last time we spoke--Kids tend to change quite rapidly at this age, as far as we can tell.”
“Just one thing--he uh, he fried the shower curtains 2 days ago when he didn’t want to do bath time,” Jon gave a little giggle at that, as if proud. Clark, in contrast, just sighed.
“Ah. The heat vision developed huh?” Jazz chuckled, crossing out the “Possible” on Jon’s power list. Just then, Clark faced the door. A second later it opened to the squeal of children piling in.
Jordan came barrelling in leading the pack, before abruptly stopping at the sight of them causing Luna and Georgie to crash into him. The three of them tumbled down into a tiny pile of children.
“Aaaand that’s a strike!” Danny chuckles from outside, before stepping in. Little Marina, as always, follows behind him, tugging on his apron strings.
“Ya’ll okay?” He asks, though the children don’t answer and simply scramble to hide behind him after he closes the door. Marina finally notices the strangers as well, and starts screaming. Right. She doesn’t like men.
Jazz steps in front of Clark, asking him softly if he could put Jon down and kneel onto the carpet for a second, explaining that Marina doesn’t like men.
“Hey hey, whoa it’s okay! Remember what I said this morning? We have a new friend visiting today! That’s just his dad, he’s really nice.” Danny soothes, scooping Marina up and crouching to face the children.
Marina stops screaming, hiccuping, but she’s mumbling in Esperanto now. Great. It’ll take a while for her to come back from that, but thankfully that’s a Danny problem.
“They’ll be joining us for circle time, we’re gonna play the name game, remember?” Danny’s soothing must work, because most of the children are clapping their hands and squealing happily, save for Marina.
Danny ushers the children over to the circle rug, gently placing Marina between Luna and Georgie, and makes his way over to them.
“Good morning, I’m Teacher Danny! Welcome to the Special Snowflake Class.” Danny winks, shaking Clark’s hand and crouching down to Jon’s eye level. Jon nibbles on his hand, clutching and hiding behind his father’s pant leg with the other.
“Do you want to come join circle time with us?” Jon looks over at the rug and hesitantly nods. He glances up at his dad, who nods encouragingly, before toddling his way over to a free space between Jordan and Luna on the rug. Danny gets up, grabbing the paper from Jazz and glancing at it. He nods at what he sees and folds the paper into his apron pocket then addresses Clark.
“Been a while huh, Mr. Kent? Sorry I was so, uh, scattered that day.”
“No need to apologize, Teacher Danny. I did sort of just drop a bomb on you.” Clark chuckles, waving away his apology.
“Right, well, you can join us on the rug, or you can grab a chair--there’s one folded up in the kitchen area--and sit wherever you like. Participation is entirely optional, though we would prefer you let us handle most of the work so you can see for yourself what and how we do these things. You can totally interact and talk with the other children if you’d like, and feel free to ask me any questions!” Danny explains quickly, waiting for Clark to acknowledge his words.
“Got it. I don’t think I’ll join the circle, but I can sit on the floor.” Clark says, before both men look at her.
“I’ll join this time Danny, if that’s okay? It’s been a while and this one is a bit of a special case after all.” Danny nods, before they all make their way to the circle rug.
Clark and Jazz make themselves comfortable on the soft floor outside the rug area as Danny claps his hands to grab the kids attention from where he stands in the space between Georgie and Jordan, closing the circle.
“Alright, what should we sing today? Let’s sing....bumblebee!” Danny makes his hands into fists, rolling them one over the other, and the kids all copy him. It takes Jon a moment, but he catches on.
“Bumble bee bumble bee can you say your name for me?” Danny sings, before pointing at Jordan.
“Jordan!” the boy yells, flinging both his hands up. Danny smiles as the children clap, before rolling his fists again.
“Bumble bee bumble bee can you say your name for me?” Danny says again, pointing at Marina. She covers her face with her hands and starts giggling in esperanto, so Danny answers for her.
“Marina! Bumble bee bumble bee can you say your name for me?” He points at Jazz this time, which makes her chuckle before she answers.
It goes on like that, with each child answering in their own way with Danny filling in any blanks.
An almost howl-like “Luuuuuna!” for Luna, an excited “Juhji!” for Georgie, an indulgent “Clark!” from Clark, before he points at Jon.
“Jon!” Jon is bouncing now, except he floats, clapping his hands excitedly. Clark blanches, about to reach over, but Jazz stops him.
“Uh oh, feet on the floor Jon!” Danny says, with Jordan laughing and falling over. Luna reaches over to tug on Jon’s pants, only for her hand to go through and making her pout. Jordan screeches with more laughter, Georgie and Marina joining in at a lower volume.
Jon looks at Luna very confused, but he at least floats a little closer to the ground.
“Peepers creepers, peepers creepers,” Danny starts singing, putting his hands over his now glowing eyes and opening them to the tune. “Make sure they don’t glow!”
The kids start following along, though Jordan smacks his face with every excited motion.
“You don’t want the Guys in White to know!” Georgie’s eyes flash brightly, and impressively he manages to stop the glow much faster than usual.
“Stomp your left foot! Stomp your right foot!" Danny then gently stomps his feet to the tune of the song, the kids following along.
"Both feet on the ground!” The kids, including a now not floating Jon, jump down on both feet at the same time as Danny, before he stomps each foot one at a time for the next part.
“Step by step, make sure you only walk around the town!” Danny finishes the little dance with a spin, to which the kids clumsily try to do with varying degrees of success.
“Good job everyone!” Circle time continues like that, with Danny leading the kids into little songs and dances.
Some of them are classics, like Head-Shoulders-Knees-and-Toes. Some of them are the ones they designed to help the kids keep their abilities on the down low.
Clark leans over once, to ask about the Guys in White that come up in some of the songs.
Jazz pauses to think through her answer, because she doesn’t want the Justice League to be involved. They’ve worked hard on their anonymity, incompetent GIW aside, and bringing the attention of Superman is bound to make problems. But what to say? And how to bypass Superman’s lie detecting hearing?
“We have these bad guys in our stories. The Guys in White. It helps introduce the kids to why they have to be careful about hiding their powers. The Guys in White are easily recognizable to the kids because they dress in all white suits. Eventually, as the kids grow older, we’ll start to incorporate other such...stranger danger ideas to them. They’re the...gateway bad guys, if you will.” Jazz says, thinking about the little picture books Sam made for the school with Star’s help. Not a lie. Just not the whole...truth.
Clark thankfully accepts that answer, which makes her significantly relieved.
Lunch Lady comes in, then, thankfully walking through. When they asked her to provide lunches for the kids, she was more than happy to accommodate their request of walking like a regular human inside the school to encourage the kids to not use their powers that often. Equally thankfully, during the day her green glow isn’t that noticeable; she just looks like a pale old lunch lady.
She drops off the food onto the table, and walks straight out with a smile and a wave to either go back to the Zone or serve Star’s children if she hasn’t already.
“Alright kids, the food’s here so let’s say goodbye to our new friend Jon!” The kids all wave, even Marina, some even saying a hearty buh-bye Jon!
Clark scoops up Jon when he toddles his way over, and he and Jazz start walking out the door as Danny bids his children to wash their hands.
“That was amazing. I was especially impressed by the feet on the ground song!” Clark is beaming, brushing the hair away from Jon’s eyes. Jazz smiles, proud.
“We’ve worked hard on this program, when we discovered some of our kids were affected by an incident their parents were involved in.” They make their way back to the lobby of the school leisurely, Jon humming and swinging his legs happily.
“It’s great that you guys have this. It really means a lot to Lois and I. We were struggling quite a bit, since none of us have experience with a toddler having powers like this before...” Clark trails off, sadly.
“Well, we’re glad to have you here. Part of the reason Danny and I petitioned for this was because Danny didn’t have anyone when his powers manifested. Just his two best friends who were equally out of their depth. We just wanted to make it a little easier on both the parents and the kids.” Jazz admitted, making sure to skirt the hows and whys.
“That’s very admirable of you. It’s very impressive that you managed to create this program for them. I...I wish I had something like this when my powers manifested.” Clark confesses.
“Thank you, that’s very nice of you to say.” Jazz smiles proudly, and they arrive outside the school in the drop of zone.
“We’ll see you tomorrow at 7:30am, then? Teacher Star is in charge of drop offs tomorrow, so she’ll walk you through the process before directing you to Danny’s classroom for the first hour.” Clark nods along, adjusting Jon onto his shoulder.
“After that, we’ll have some paperwork for you to sign. There’s a coffee shop down the road you can wait at for the second hour while we see how Jon is on his own...” Jazz says, offering her usual spiel, before pausing and remembering they live in Metropolis and can get here by flying.
“Then again, you could just pop back home I suppose.” They both laugh at that.
Clark looks around to see if anybody is around before bidding Jazz a goodbye and just. Flies away.
She chuckles as she waves, before walking back to her office when they disappear into the sky.
She slumps into her chair, empty clipboard clacking on the desk, and sighs.
This will certainly be interesting, she thinks. A thought suddenly pops up.
Suffering Spooks. She’ll have to make sure Danny makes the ghosts stay away from Amity Park for at least a week.
She wonders if the Observants would consider Danny Royal Decreeing the ghosts away as an abuse of power.
Maybe she could petition the ghosts to hinder the GIW if they make any attempts on the town? Val and Sam seem to have it in hand, but you never know....
Well. It’ll keep ‘em on their toes, at the very least.
Preschool teacher Danny au
Danny takes his class on a field trip to a local museum and makes sure the kids keep a hold of the safety rope. Well things go slightly wrong when one of his students starts floating so he rushes to get him back on the ground which does require a little floating on his part. He thinks no one saw him since they were in a blind spot for the security cameras until he makes eye contact with Clark Kent and is immediately trying to figure out how to bribe a country boy reporter while Clark is low key freaking out at seeing a whole potential class of metas with a meta teacher

Why not both? Superboy Prime was punching Side A of the Universe while, unknowingly, the Observant was full ghostly Ancient force punching Side B (since the Zone is the lining of EVERY universe and is EVERY Side B. They were just in the wrong spot, wrong time)?
Universe No Likey.
Now the Observants are all just standing around like... ( O.O) ( O.O ) (O.O )
DUDE. You punched the KING out into... "???" That's on you! Just a SOLID "NOBODY PANIC!!!" Moment.
Now THEY got to pretend that Danny no REALLY, TOOOOTALLY, is DEFINITELY, for realsies here you guys! Just... don't look in the back! He's uuuuuuh... GETTING ready! Yes. Yes that's what he's doing! Coronation. Much to do! Ha ha!
Now if you'll excuse them... errands you understand. Left the Television running. Don't want to overcook the stove!
And... hmmm... Sam And Tuck are beginning to suspect they might be LYING.
Meanwhile! Danny tastes concussion. Plurble. He he... Bat people. Weeee! *is sick onto Superman's shoes*! *everyone should be GLAD it was Superman because it's ectoplasm and instantly eats through his uniform and the ground under him. Lightly BURNS him*
Oh FUN! The concussed Alien has SUPER acid inside him! The day just keeps getting better! And? Now Clark has no shoes. Fantastic.
Royal.
What?
He has a crown now.
Oh! Yeah THAT'S better! The concussed ROYAL alien has super acid inside him! So much better. That calms EVERYTHING down. >:T
Picture this:
Danny gets punched, so, so hard that he flies through dimensions.
That's it, that the literal prompt.
He just gets punt through dimensions because he was punched, not even that a natural portal opened up in the direction he was being flung in no.
Whoever punched him, punched so hard that it ripped a hole between space, time the whole shebang and Danny is just flung through and ends up in the DC dimension questioning how the fuck he got here and in a world of pain.
