Machi's #16 DP x DC idea
Can also be found in Ao3
Imagine Dick and Jazz trying to have a romantic dinner at home only to have their door suddenly busted by several people.
'Richard! Tell Nightingale that protocols are there for a reason!'
'Jazz! Tell the twarp that I don't care about your stupid protocols.'
'I don't want anybody to panic but I can't find Danny or Tim.'
'Steph! It was your turn to chaperone them.'
'No-oh, it was Sam's turn.'
'I switched places with Duke so I could go with Cass to the botanical gardens.'
'I'm sorry, when did I agree to that?'
'So daddy and dad are lost? I'm an orphan now?!'
Explosions are heard near the Dockers.
'They are exploding stuff without me?! They are the worst parents in the world, I'd rather be an orphan.'
'I just want you to know that I still think a winter wedding is a bad idea. Spring is more romantic.'
'Oracle and I already hacked the place they wanted to book so they could skip the waiting list so shut up.'
'You shut up, I'm the one organizing the wedding.'
'Since when?'
'Since now, none of you have any taste in anything.'
Or, two parents with too many kids can't have a quiet day for themselves.

City Spirits awaken.
So! City Spirts are basically God's sustained by the people in their Cities. Some are Gods born from the belief and people of a City, others are God's who Bind themselves to Cities to sustain themselves in periods of low worship.
Almost all Major Population Centers have some kind of City Spirit bound to them.
The Personification of Los Angeles who slept with Constantine was born from her City, but she was young and weak compared to other City Spirits.
Lady Gotham is an Ancient Spirit who holds immense Power, but purposefully bound herself to the new and growing city of Gotham so she could sleep for a few millenia without worrying about sustaining Worship. She has been asleep for Centuries.
Actually, most City Spirits are Asleep.
Millenia Ago, the most powerful Gods and Spirits of the Infinite Realms fled the Rule of Pariah Dark. They didn't agree with his ambitions to conquer the Living Realm, and didn't want to let him use their Power against the Living Realm either.
So they Bound themselves to newly forming Cities and put themselves into Deep Sleep to avoid his Control. They have been asleep for Millenia now, waiting for the day Pariah would be overthrown so they could return to the Infinite Realms safely.
Then they day came. A New King was Crowned.
And the Cities began to wake up.

A Fair Warning
It was only a matter of time, and a long awaited and well deserved comeuppance, when Joker tried to hurt the wrong person or people.
Not everyone was going to play his games like 'Batsy' does. Not everyone will hesitate or let him live should he put his hands on someone to hurt them. Not everyone will believe Arkham could 'fix' him, he just needed more time and help.
No.
This time Joker bit off more than he could chew when he kidnapped the newly hired Arkham psychiatrist Jasmine Fenton (and he had plans, so many plans, for her. With her mixture of Harley's mind and her looks matching Gordon's daughter would sure to cause some chaos and pain in memories) and the girl's visiting sister Danielle 'Ellie' (and did he laugh when he noticed the 'Wayne' adoptive looks the girl had, on the fun he'll have, maybe he'll beat her the way he beat the second Robin just for funzie's, it'll no doubt upset Batman) from Jasmine's apartment.
He had plans to keep the Bats guessing where he was and by the time they reach him it'll be far to late for them to save either of the two girls, he had just sent the little video he taped to the Bats and the police to get the ball rolling...
So...
So why did a shiver run down his spine for the first time in years when they both looked unafraid (it was their eyes that made him shiver, a look of already dead yet somehow alive, something he never seen before. He's seen the light fade from people's eyes before yes, he's even laughed as he watch people desperately cling onto life only for it to fade into nothing as they took a final breath but never have he seen someone, something alive yet dead at the same time before. It, their eyes, held a natural yet unnatural sense as they stared at him, stared at everything that made him Joker and it unnerved him), honestly they looked very bored, and one of them (the youngest of the two, and the one with more of the look of death than life in their eyes) said with a chill tune in their tone.
"Last chance to back out of this Freakshows Reject. You wont like what'll be waiting for you."
The tone alone was enough to send another bone deep chill down Joker's spine.
But instead of listening to his natural instincts, the deep inkling of run blaring at him, Joker merely placed a grin on his face, ignoring the strain he felt from doing so, and said as nastily as he could in order to scare the two girls (BOTH OF THEM STILL LOOKED BORED WITH HIM?!?! Not even a twitch of fear!)
"OH? And pray tell what is awaiting little ol' me hum?"
His mocking question got a wide feral grin from the smaller girl, a grin with sharp teeth and iris eyes beginning to bleed slowly from sky blue to neon green with each second he stared at her and he barely stopped himself from jumping in his spot when Jasmine answered his question.
"Your end."
-x-x-
By the time the Bats get to the warehouse Joker had taken Dr. Jasmine 'Jazz' Fenton and Danielle 'Ellie' Fenton they were prepared for anything and everything to go wrong. As much as they held the tiniest bit of hope that the two young women were still okay they knew better than to really do, this was the Joker that had them after all.
They had manged to narrow down his location much quicker than normal when they gotten Joker's first video and his little 'game' he was setting the Bats on, most locations he gave them were going to be red herrings or traps to keep them busy and it would had worked. Batman and the others would had been searching for hours for even a hint of the clue of where the Joker and his hostages were actually being kept.
It was nearly, not really, a shame all of Joker's plans went to waste when Red Hood had stumbled onto something when scooping out Jasmine's apartment with Red Robin.
You see, not only were they looking for clues at first but something about the apartment Jasmine rented seemed off, Red Robin noticed it first and called in back up encase there was more to oldest Fenton than what they could dig up (oldest daughter of Dr's. Jackson and Madeline Fenton, grew up in a small Illinois town, straight A student and a goal to become a psychologist, has two younger siblings, etc etc) and their suspension raised up more when the moment Red Hood entered the apartment and seemed to freeze for a moment.
Red Hood couldn't really explain it but he said it felt like something was... strange. Not evil bad danger strange but it felt familiar? Like he was a kid again on the streets and had walked into someone else's territory but knew the person wouldn't be too much of a hardass about it as long as he didn't stur up trouble or disrespect. A kind of... as long as you don't fuck around you won't find out feeling.
It was because of this feeling that Jason had manged to stumble across something in the room, his instincts telling him there was more to it, and they had discovered a clunky old custom PDA hidden away in a false floorboard in the office room. Thankfully Red Robin, was there in person because the old thing apparently had a rather ingenious firewall to keep others (aka Hackers) OUT but it did nothing against someone who held the main thing.
But still it took Red Robin almost frying the damn thing to get to open up, turns out the ghost and star stickers on the PDA was a rather large hint of the pass code. Once Red Robin was in the PDA he noticed some rather interesting files, one of them labeled "Gremlin Tracking" with a tiny green blob with red eyes and a green outlined star as the icons.
Curiosity taking a hold on the most curious of the Bats he opened it up, hoping it would need another password, and watched as the screen split into two maps, one was... strange, there was no land marks or anything but the star icon seemed to be right in the middle of wherever it was and the only hint of anything was the name "baby brother" and the map labeled as IR.
The other one showed an above map of Gotham, before zooming into the city, heading towards some abandoned warehouses Red Robin knew of and stopped right at one. This was the green blob icon, the short abbreviation for Gotham in the corner of the map, and the name for the icon was 'baby sister'
Red Robin immediately got onto coms to tell the others of what apparently was a tracker for Jasmine's younger siblings. Some questioned why the young woman had trackers on her siblings, though some of the others snarked back that "oh didn't know keeping trackers on each other wasn't normal. Mind if I loose the one you got on me than?"
After a quick sweep into the warehouses camera feeds, the very few up that could be accessed, done by Oracle they quickly discovered that yes the tracking on the younger girl of the two, Danielle Fenton, was correct and that was where they and Joker were at.
Despite this, Batman decided that in order to make sure Joker didn't have suspicion that they already know his actual location he made sure to send a few of the others to the fake locations.
So here they were now, staking out the warehouse where they could see a few of the Jokers goons walking around and looking for a way into the building without alerting any of them. As they talked low into coms, Robin mentioning a possible way in for Red Robin by how small it was, Red Robin hissing back a "just because you got a growth spurt doesn't mean you can poke fun at my height you little-"
"Wait!" Red Hood suddenly hissed shouted, his tone startling the rest of them and they all turned their heads to him. Batman made a quick and harsh grunt as a way to say "report."
Under his helmet Jason's eyes were wide and wild. He could feel something, something huge was on the rise, like something was out of sight but the energy of it was felt.
And if Jason could feel it from his spot, the Jokers goons all felt the same thing from the way they all dropped their weapons, turned toward the warehouse and looked ready to bolt like scared animals.
Jason opened his mouth to explain but fell silent when the feeling suddenly popped. Whatever was causing the feeling was here and like the calm before the storm he could only watch as the first drop of rain fall.
The next thing they know, was the noise and the screaming.
It was inhuman, a mixture of noise and sounds to hard to explain. The closest they could explain was a thousand voices coming in all at once mixing with radio static that kept changing volume so only few words could be even hinted at, and the angry cawing of crows along with the flapping of their wings as they took flight. The noise was so bad that many who heard it nearly ripped their coms out, or covered their ears. Thankfully it only lasted a few seconds.
Then, the air itself shifted. It felt like the coldest of winter nights and bone chilling shivers ran down their bodies for a moment. The air was suddenly that sharp cold that hurt to breathe sometimes.
The goons surrounding the warehouse fled in fear. Many scrambling to get far, far away from whatever was happening. If they felt even a fraction of what Jason could feel, he could understand. He honestly felt like a small animal cornered by a predator and there was no escape.
Then just as suddenly as it happened, everything shifted again. The noise of Gotham returned to normal, cars honking, a stray cat hissing or a dog barking, police sirens in the distance, hissing steam from a nearby factory. The air went from winter cold to a chill mid winter harbor feel now.
Once everyone registered what had just happened and not wanting to waste anymore time they bolted towards the warehouse, cautious and alert in case they needed to fight. Batman went in first, quickly making his way to the area he knew Joker would be with the Fenton sisters and wondered just what the fuck was that? Did Joker do something? Was he messing with things outside of his usual MO?!
He walked into the room and stopped.
There was nothing.
The room was in fact the room Joker had used to record his first message to them, the layout was correct and the evidence of two people who had been tied up were still there as well, ropes that weren't cut sitting on them, a lone lamp light above shining down from above no doubt to emphasize the two girls were meant to be the 'stars' of Jokers latest show. Thing was, the two weren't there despite the fact Oracle swore she could see them a few mins ago from a camera set up in the room, she would later explain that she heard the noise as well and that all her tech had glitched hard.
The only other thing in the room was, sitting innocently on one of the chairs was a green sticky note and on a tiny pillow was a tiny sickly green orb with hints of purple, white, and red swirling in it.
A note they would later read the following message written on it after carefully examining it over.
'Joker learned not to touch what is mine to protect. Sorry not sorry, but hey one less killer clown and he was warned not my fault he didn't take it seriously... The massive amount of souls wanting to rip apart the Joker's soul into nothing was quite a sight to be honest.
They were so ruthless. Best not mess with the vengeful dead am I right?
PS. I left a tiny gift for Jason Todd aka Robin Two. It's the tiniest piece of Joker's soul left over after everyone else got done. He can finish it off since he's a reverent and all, and well they need their revenge filled in order to peacefully move on later or else they'll be stuck forever in a loop of madness and revenge. So yeah. Hope he likes the gift.'
D.P.'
It took Jason less than a second after those words were spoken out to reach for the orb, ignoring the cautious and alarmed cries of the others, and could feel deep, deep, deep in his own soul the absolute pure weeping joy as he threw the orb onto the floor, the bottom shattering thus it didn't roll away and stomped hard with his reinforced boots. Crushing the broken orb into more pieces and if one listened closely they could hear the pure screaming terror that came from it.
And Jason for the first time in years felt his rage finally leave him.

DC X DP PROMPT #12
Jack, Maddie, and Vlad have made their way into a nice little poly. They have worked tirelessly in order to keep their family safe. With the GiW not backing down any time soon they are constantly on edge. This all tips over when the Danny's are injured to the point where the only thing that could be found to help is to age them down. The poly takes this as their chance to start over.
With Jazz already in college they decide to just move to her. What's Gotham compared to world-renowned ecto-biologists and a full grown halfta? Not a lot apparently. Gotham stood no chance.
Jason is checking out the new obviously meta family that just moved in on the edge of his territory. They had four kids, one college-level and three Irish twins. They were a bit excentric, but from what Jason could tell, it was probably a newfound freedom from whatever discrimination they faced in their small Midwestern town of origin.

Prompt 304
SO. Turns out that Danny is apparently a clone. Who knew? Not him! Would have loved to know that earlier, but he doesn’t exactly have time to freak out about that because Ellie is melting. She’s going to die if he doesn’t do something and he already gave so much ecto that they both look ten now, but the only thing he can do is pray to everything and Clockwork that this portal works.
Because Ellie needs their Original’s dna to stabilize her, not his own slowly destabilizing blood, and that means going to another dimension to where they’re still alive. This has to work- even if they can never go back, it’ll be worth it if he can just make sure Ellie lives. She’s all he has now.

Roomba
Honestly Danny would be the first to admit that trying to overshadow anything after the Technus incident was a bad idea. But he was also a very bored teenager, visiting a strange city at the request of his older sister so, can you blame him?
It had seemed like a fun idea to the halfa the moment he saw a small roomba in a store window in Gotham. It didn't look like many wanted to buy it but it was there anyway.
So yes, Danny could admit that it was all a strange combination of his boredom and lack of sleep because before he knew it he had overshadowed the damn roomba, causing the light above it to glow bright green.
It was just luck that some of his powers worked, because he made it through the store window with no problems, and had some fun chasing the denizens of Gotham all over the place.
It wasn't so much fun when he realized he was stuck inside the roomba; or when some people started to look at the machine curiously, trying to catch it.
He managed to escape with some luck and set about being a real nuisance to anyone he came across, including the clown laughing like a maniac and the live scarecrow, because well, what other option did he have besides waiting for it to sort itself out?
It wasn't long before the bats heard the report of "a roomba on the loose" in disbelief. Dick wondered if Alfred would appreciate them bringing the machine to the mansion to help him with cleaning.

Trick or Treat…or Else
This is unfinished because I felt like I kept screwing up Jason’s characterisation a bit. Gotta work on that.
Jason glanced up at the clock hanging on the wall to his left, it’s was 2:57 on Halloween. His patrol wasn’t due to start for a few more hours, but something tugged at him that cause him to feel like something was going to happen. He wasn’t sure if it was a good or bad feeling just yet. He just knew that whatever is was put him on edge.
“Haven’t you taken enough pictures, Danny?” Tucker laughed through the screen of the computer Danny had set up in a four way call between himself, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz.
“I could never have too many pictures of my little princess!” Danny retorted as he snapped another photo of little Ellie in her Halloween costume.
“Ahem!” Ellie puffed out her chest and put her hands on her hips. The pose made her look even cuter, Danny thought.
“Oh my apologise,” Danny grinned cheekily, “my little badass.” He corrected himself.
Ellie, decked out in her mini Red Hood costume. The child sized leather jacket had been a gift courtesy of Sam, while the mini Red Hood helmet had been designed and built by both Tucker and Danny working together to ensure it would be perfect. They might have gone a little overboard however, since they’d managed to incorporated a real working com unit, an air filtration system in case of a gas attack, night vision, heat vision, and an emergency beacon should Ellie wander off and get lost that only Danny or Tucker could access. Danny had also hand painted two nerf guns for her, and gave her hand painted ‘grenades’ that were just glitter bombs. Ellie had insisted, just in case she was ‘forced’ to choose ‘trick’ from Trick or Treat.
“Danny,” Jazz voice held a fondness to it, “if you keep it up with the picture not only will you no longer have any space on there, you guys will be too late for the trick or treating.”
“Oh no! I don’t wanna miss it,” Ellie ran to Danny and started tugging on the sleeve of his costume, “let’s go!” She looked up at him and though the helmet obstructed Danny being able to see Ellie’s face, he could feel it in his bones that she was giving him those big puppy dog eyes of hers.
After a dramatic show of sighing in defeat, he picked up his daughter and said, “alright my starlight, but let’s say bye to the others first though.”
“Bye Uncle Tuck, Aunty Sam, and Aunt Jazz!” Ellie waved her little gloves hand at the screen from her place in her dad’s arms.
Tucker, Sam and Jazz all waved back and said their goodbyes and wishing her a fun time trick or treating. Danny bid his friends and sister farewell and ended the call.
“C’mon Little Hood, let’s go bug our neighbours for candy,” Danny beamed at Ellie as he put her back down and held out her candy bucket which had been a plastic black pumpkin from a dollar store. He’d hand painted a red bat symbol on the front of it for her, so that it would match her costume more. Ellie held the bucket in one hand, and held her dad’s hand in the other as they exited their apartment.
The clock had ticked over to 3:20pm the next time Jason spared it a glance. The trick or treaters would be put and about now. Most cities started later, but in Gotham there was always the risk of a rouge attack, so many parents would go out earlier, just to make sure they were home to avoid being out when it started to get darker.
Jason stretched his arms above his head and marked his page before putting down the book he’d just been reading. He stood up slowly and made his way over to his front door, checking that he had some Halloween candy at the ready just in case someone knocked on his door before he took off for the night. Jason knew that his building had several families with children under 14, so the likely hood of getting at least one truck or treated was pretty high.
When he was satisfied that he had everything in place he returned to the couch, picked his book back up and waited.
“Trick or treat!” Ellie cheered as the door opened.
The middle aged woman who opened the door let out a small gasp, “oh my,” she said with a smile, “Red Hood, I didn’t know you’d be patrolling our building?” Her tone was teasing as she reached somewhere past the door to grab some candy for Ellie’s pumpkin.
“Of course ma’am!” Ellie happily played along, making her own attempt at a deep ‘man’ voice, “crime could be anywhere!”
“Well I certainly feel safer knowing you’re out there protecting us Red Hood,” the woman laughed, “have a good patrol.” With that she closed the door, and Danny and Ellie Bahn making their way to the next ‘civilian’ as Ellie had started to call their neighbours.
Five groups of kids had come to Jason’s door so far. It was getting later, and he knew he’d need to start getting ready soon. Just as he was weighing the pros and cons of heading out on patrol early another knock sounded from the door to his apartment.

man i'm on a roll tonight
DP x DC idea:
Bruce Wayne has somehow managed to become the unofficial guardian of at least two more kids. Maybe three. He's not sure yet. Various members of the Batfamily have made new friends recently and have been having them hang out at Wayne manor for extensive periods of time. Now only if he could actually meet the rascals face-to-face, maybe he could adopt them for real.
or
Danny, Elle, and Jazz have all made friends with different Wayne kids at different times from different places. Damian met Elle at school, Danny met Tim while working at a coffee shop, and Jazz met Cass outside the local theater. All three visit the manor separately, and no one communicates that they've befriended people from the same family. Eventually, however, their hangout sessions accidentally overlap and the Waynes have to deal with the excitement of three Fentons under a single roof.
Let's just say there's a reason the three of them live separately.

The King And His Red Knight
Part 11
Parts 1-7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10
Warning: Jason's rampant vulgarity and love of creative cursewords
Danny woke up right when they reached the edge of Gotham, a cold shudder traveling through his body that dragged him from one of the best naps of his afterlife.
He knew what woke him. And knew he'll have to deal with it eventually. City Spirits can be territorial, but they all still fell under his purview. Even if not a one of them liked it, too used to being rulers of their own small kingdoms and viciously protective of the people they watched over.
This one didn't feel half as hostile as he expected, it was almost...welcoming.
If he ever returned to Amity, he thought this might be what it felt like.
Danny thought it might have something to do with the fact that he saved one of her Robins. And that he's bringing him back.
Perhaps it hadn't been only Clockwork who had a hand in their meeting, two and a half years ago.
Gotham loves her Robins, dearly. But Jason had always been Gotham's Robin. Born and raised in her streets, as connected to her people as the spirit itself was.
He still had the impression Gotham was watching him, wary, but willing to accept him. He saved her Robin, and he brought him back. That bought him a lot of goodwill.
He'd need that goodwill, seeing as he was planning on staying in Gotham for as long as Jason wanted to be here. And as much as the other halfa didn't want to admit it, Danny didn't think they'd be leaving for a very long time.
The Infinite Realms was home for Jason now, but it would be a grave injustice to say Gotham had ever stopped being Jason's home.
Danny let out a yawn that cracked his jaw as his eyes blinked open slowly. He was pressed against a warm chest, a thick arm wrapped tightly around him. A low, rumbling purr under his ear encouraged him to shut his eyes again and fall back to sleep.
Danny snuggled closer to Jason for a moment, noting absently that at some point in their sleep both of them had transformed back to human form. It was more a surprise for Danny than Jason. But being human had stopped feeling so unsafe sometime after he found Jason. Danny couldn't say for sure when the other halfa had banished the last of his fears with nothing more than his presence, but he had.
Jason was dressed in his tan leather jacket over a bright red hoodie, a pair of dark jeans and scuffed motorcycle boots. He smelled like cigarette smoke, leather, gunpowder and metal. A smell Danny has long grown accustomed to, and his mind now equated to home. To safety, to a ready smile and a sharp tongue that hid a soft heart.
Slowly Danny tried to pull back, but the arm around him only tightened, flattening him back onto a broad chest. Danny huffed out a breath in amused annoyance.
Jason had shot up and out over the past two and a half years. He almost matched Danny for height, those scant few inches Danny had on him a sore point. But what Jason lacked in height compared to Danny he'd more than made up for in muscle mass.
Danny didn't think anyone could beat Jack Fenton in pure size, but Jason had done his damndest. The man was built like a brick shithouse. And one of his tree trunk arms was holding Danny in place like a lanky teddy bear.
Danny sighed and let intangibility wash over him and lifted himself out of the, very comfortable, embrace. Being that close to Jason while conscious was doing dangerous things to his heart.
If Danny thought the butterflies and skipping heartbeats would fade over time, he'd been wrong. So wrong.
If anything the butterflies had unionized and multiplied, holding riots in his stomach regularly. And if he hadn't already been dead he'd fear weekly heart attacks.
But Jason had never even implied an interest, and Danny was loathe to approach him. Jason might put about as much stock in Danny's title as he did in the existence of Mothman, but Danny never wanted his friend, his best friend, to feel pressured to date him because Danny was his king.
So. Danny's crush stayed locked tight and the butterfly union never got their demands met.
"He's not my boyfriend!" Danny hissed, barely remembering to keep his voice quiet.
"Finally done cuddling your boyfriend?" Sam called out from behind the wheel. Danny flushed, scrambling away from Jason, arms waving wildly in the air.
"Uh huh. Right. And I'm Batman." Sam's voice dripped sarcasm and Danny rolled his eyes as he phased through the back of the passenger seat, buckling himself in as if he had anything to fear from a car crash.
Danny turned his head and located Tucker, head resting on his keyboard as random letters kept typing into a word doc. Danny chuckled quietly as he looked forward, taking in the sights.
Gotham looked much the same as it had the last time he'd been here. Only difference this time being that it was day. The heavy cloud of death and fear still coated the city like tainted paint, fueling the ambient ectoplasm that was most definitely a result of one of the several curses Danny could feel woven through the city.
"It's gorgeous here. I'm never leaving." Sam sighed dreamily as she swerved around other cars who seemed to take traffic laws as suggestions.
"We almost there?" Danny asked as he checked the touchscreen navigation on the dash.
"Almost." Sam nodded, taking a turn fast enough to make the tires squeal but no heads even turned.
"Did you and Tucker switch off? You could've woken me up to drive." Danny rested his elbow on the door, chin in hand.
"Dude, you needed the sleep. Your bags had bags." Sam chastised and Danny flushed.
Alright, maybe planning the destruction of the GIW and liberation of their prisoners had taken up his time for the past several days, meaning he got no sleep, but still!
"And here we are." Sam raised a hand and pressed one of many buttons on the dash.
She took another sharp turn and barreled towards a derelict warehouse, a wall opening smoothly seconds before collision. The van slid inside, and the door dropped behind them. In front of them the floor rose, revealing a tunnel that Sam drove down.
Darkness covered the van, lights flashing by as they continued along for several minutes before another wall opened and Sam drove into what looked like a bunker. Several motorcycles and other cars waited for them, an elevator sat across from them that would lead them to the rest of the hideout.
Something like this, smack in the middle of Crime Alley no less, did not come about overnight. No, it had been the work of years, Danny using the basically unlimited funds of the King of the Dead to slowly put it together.
He'd always known Jason would want to come back to Gotham, and Danny had prepared for that day.
Danny phased back through his seat as Sam turned off the van. Settling next to Jason, Danny reached out a hand and gently shook his shoulder. He let a wash of Calm/Safe/Home/Calm cover Jason, knowing far too well how violently Jason could wake up.
Danny didn't judge. He'd frozen Jazz several times back in Amity when she tried to wake him up. It was a side effect of being a hero.
"Mmmph. Wazzit?" Jason slurred, blinking sleep heavy eyes at Danny.
"We're here. Time to see our new home away from home." Danny grinned at Jason, slipping his hand from the other halfa's shoulder to his hand so he could tug Jason up.
"Wait we're already here? The fuck? How long was my undead ass out?" Jason regained his sense quickly, green tinted blue eyes clearing as he looked around.
"Apparently as long as me. Tucker and Sam put us in nap time time-out." Danny chuckled, letting intangibility wash over himself and Jason as he tugged the other man out of the van.
Why use a door when you were a ghost?
"Wait. Are those my bikes?!" Jason demanded, rushing forward, Danny tugged along behind him like a balloon as he let go of gravity and floated along.
"Yup, even Nightmare." Danny nodded at Jason's pride and joy, his baby.
The bike Johnny had given him had changed a lot since he got it. It almost resembled a horse made mechanical, and Danny knew it would spit flames out of its exhaust when it was started. It was painted a dark red that shone almost blood red under the right lights.
"When did you guys do this?" Jason asked, free hand running lovingly down the side of his bike.
Danny was a weak enough man to admit, this wasn't the first time he'd been jealous of a fucking motorcycle. At least Jason hadn't realized he still had Danny's hand gripped in his.
"Right before we left for the mission. Johnny and I moved all the bikes over." Danny said with a shrug.
"So do you want to stay in the basement or do you want to see the rest of your surprises?" Sam called out from where she was dragging a half asleep Tucker out of the van.
"Wait. Where the fuck are we?" Jason asked, finally registering they were in a building.
"So we paid attention to all your safe house and base spiels." Danny started as Sam and Tucker walked over.
"And I know a thing or two about how to buy things without a trail." Sam added in proudly.
"And I'm not bad at finding condemned and abandoned buildings no one wants." Tucker raised his head with a yawn.
"And I have the money and manpower, do you have any idea how many construction worker ghosts there are? A lot. So many of them die angry, its a problem. To make just about anything happen." Danny finished nodding around them.
"So you three....made a what? Next gen fucking Batcave?" Jason asked, leaning against his bike with one hip.
"Pshaw. Batcave? Please. Bruce Wayne wishes his creepy little man cave was half as cool as this." Sam snorted with a shake of her head.
"We can call it the Ghostcave! Or the Ghost Nest? Haunted House?" Danny tilted his head with an excited grin. None of them had wanted to name their new secret base without Jason.
"We'll work on what to call it, King of Dumbass Names." Jason tugged playfully on Danny's hand as Danny's cheeks puffed out in anger.
"Anyway, we have everything you could need to be a hero, or crime boss, or supervillain. The outside looks like an abandoned apartment building but we gutted the insides." Danny explained, bouncing in the air excitedly.
"There's so many levels! Below us is one of the workshops, then a lab. Above us is another workshop then Tucker's command center slash Ops room. It definitely looks like a Best Buy threw up in there. Then a med bay- Jazz made us add one," Danny rolled his eyes but kept talking, not even taking a breath in.
Jason was watching with an impressed expression. Though if that was because of what they'd built, or because Danny could talk so fast and so much without air was anyone's guess.
"And then we have the training room! It's huge! Big enough for us to go all out. And! And! The entire base is surrounded by cement and titanium walls, ten feet thick around the lab 'cause I wanna make a Ghost portal down there. And between those and the walls we see is five feet of my ghost ice!" Happy trills and chirps were making their way between Danny's words, and the almost unconscious chirps Jason responded with had a distinctly amused flavor to them.
Defenses had been his first thought when it came to Gotham. The frequency of rogue attacks meant anything not kitted out to the nines would inevitably be destroyed.
Someone could drop a missile on their roof and surround the building with bombs in the middle of an earthquake and their drinks wouldn't even slosh. Danny hadn't expected his Obsession to translate into building the most secure building this side of the veil but death was full of surprises. He had precious people staying in this building, and he didn't want to see a single one of them hurt.
"You expecting us to get nuked or some shit?" Jason asked with an amused twist to his lips.
"Dude. It's Gotham." Tucker chimed in.
"Nuff said." Jason shrugged, but he looked impressed and Danny's core purred.
The only thing stopping Danny from floating straight through the ceiling was Jason's hold on his hand, but Danny was vibrating so hard in excitement even Jason's arm was shaking.
"Then we have the ground floor. It has a huge kitchen Jay, everything you wanted in one! And three ovens! Three!" Danny could feel a grin splitting his face as Jason, Sam and Tucker watched him word vomit, barely contained laughter puffing out their cheeks.
"It's got the living room, and the dining room and Sam wanted a theater so we have that too!" Danny bounced up and down in the air while Jason turned to look at Sam, an eyebrow raised.
"A theater? Really? What kind of rich people shit is this?" Jason asked, Sam huffed, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes.
"Look me in the eyes, Jason, and tell me Nightmare on Elm Street isn't better on a wall sized screen. I dare you, bird boy." Sam challenged. Jason held up his free hand in surrender, wisely choosing not to argue with Sam.
"And then we h-" Danny started when Sam waved a hand at him.
"Let's show him, D." Sam stopped him from giving away the best part.
Danny brightened, tugging at Jason again, directing them towards the elevator.
"What am I? A fucking dog?" Jason grumbled as Danny dragged him away from the love of his life, his Ancient's damned motorcycle, and to the elevator.
"You look like a bitch, so yeah." Danny taunted over his shoulder as they reached the doors.
"Bark bark, motherfucker." Jason snapped his teeth, inhuman fangs on display as Danny laughed. Sam rolled her eyes, slamming a hand on the scanner by the elevator.
"Welcome home, Sam." A robotic feminine voice called out, Jason jumped in surprise as the elevator doors opened.
"Ahhh, Ophelia, my love." Tucker gazed at the touch screen panel inside the elevator like a lovesick puppy.
"Ophelia?" Jason leaned towards Danny, whispering.
"Tucker and Technus made her. She's a program but she's more than slightly ghostly." Danny shrugged.
Ophelia was Tucker's magnum opus, and Danny was fairly certain he was trying to figure out how to actually marry her.
"Ah. Make sense. Totally not having Terminator flashbacks or anything. Skynet, anyone?" Jason nodded, shooting a suspicious look at the panel as Tucker pressed something, and they started to descend.
"Ophelia would never betray me!" Tucker shouted, stroking a hand against the side of the panel.
"See that? Thats what you look like with your bikes and guns." Danny pointed out and Jason gave him a disbelieving stare.
"Boys, boys. You're all pretty. Let's get on with the tour." Sam broke in, quieting the bickering.
Danny wanted Jason to see everything so the elevator took them down first, to the lab and the second workshop. Jason had to be pulled back from leaving the elevator to 'look around' which really meant, get distracted by a project and lose a week of time.
It wasn't until they hit the second workshop that Jason spoke up again, eyes lighting up in recognition.
"Did you transport everything from the castle?" Jason asked, pouting slightly at being held back once more from entering a workshop. Danny understood, he wanted to go in too. But they had a base to explore!
"Everything but the delicate and volatile projects." Danny nodded, kicking a foot in the air nervously.
"I- We wanted it to feel like home." Danny said softly, glancing at Jason, whose face had taken on a soft, warm expression that was gone in a blink.
The next time the door opened, it was into a room practically overflowing with technology. Walls were covered in screens, and there were keyboards across multiple surfaces. Server towers and computer towers stood like little soldier awaiting battle.
"This is the command center. AKA Tucker's cave." Danny nodded at the room, Sam was holding Tucker back with both arms as he sobbed, trying to get to his 'babies'.
The elevator closed and they rose to the next level, opening out into a large room full of sparkling, brand new medical equipment. Much of it transported right from the Far Frozen.
"Med-bay, Jazz insisted we have one. Said first aid kits from Walmart 'weren't enough'. Frostbite helped design it." Danny explained the next room.
"Maybe if you didn't have the dodging abilities of a dead fucking squirrel we wouldn't need it." Jason poked at Danny's chest with a shit-eating grin.
"Well maybe if someone stopped running head first into every fight and tanking hits Jazz wouldn't worry!" Danny retorted, swatting at Jason's hand.
"Next is the giant training room, so if you two want to fight take it in there." Sam took over, talking loudly over the bickering halfas.
"See, Jay, you're missing the tour, you little shit!" Danny hissed, floating as far away as he could, still connected to Jason by their hands.
You'd need to cut Danny's arm off before he'd willingly let go.
"Little? What about me is little you blind undead bastard?" Jason asked, tugging at Danny's hand to get him back in range for more rough housing.
"Boys. Stop flirting." Sam ordered and that froze the two halfas. Their hands separated, Danny and Jason flinging themselves to seperate parts of the elevator.
"We're not flirting!"
"I wasn't flirting!"
Jason and Danny spoke at the same time, voices loud to cover the twin blushes on their cheeks. Sam snorted, rolling her eyes and shaking her head as the doors opened on the next level.
Jason craned his head, trying to see the kitchen from the elevator but it was currently out of view. For the best, Danny didn't know if he'd be able to stop Jason from convincing them to take a snack break if he saw the state of the art kitchen.
Danny was fully vibrating, floating so high his head banged against the roof of the elevator as it rose again. Jason was watching with amused curiosity, Sam and Tucker were watching Jason excitedly. Danny saw Tucker pull out a smartphone to get a picture of Jason's face at their next stop.
The doors opened to a level filled floor to ceiling with books as far as the eye could see. Cozy chairs and couches were thrown around the room and there were a few hard to see, hidden reading nooks too.
"Ghost Writer helped me fill it with all your favorites, and every book we thought you might like. There's first editions, and unpublished books too." Danny said quietly, hands twisting nervously in his shirt.
Jason was looking at the room as if he'd seen heaven. Then again, he had that look anytime he saw a library. But every time Danny saw it, his heart skipped a beat as the butterflies revolted in his stomach.
"Do you...do you like it?" Danny asked hesitantly, Jason ripped his gaze from the books to look at Danny.
And. Oh. Jason was looking at him like he'd hung the moon.
"It's amazing, Danny, it's perfect." Jason's voice was soft, reverent as if they were in a holy place.
Danny felt his core send a pulse of cold through his body as it purred strong enough he feared he'd start vibrating again. Small trills and chirps filled the air between them. And a soft, barely there emotion floated off of Jason.
Loved/Special/Important
It was gone before Danny could fully understand them, or who they were directed at.
"Before you two start doing something disgusting like confess your undying love we have two more levels and surprises waiting." Sam burst in, literally stepping between them and waving her arms as if she could dispell the sappy feelings in the air.
"Next up is the gaming level and then the bedrooms." Sam closed the doors, Jason letting out a pitiful, hurt whine when his books were hidden from him.
They quickly ascended and showed Jason the last two levels. He was obviously curious, but they all knew he was going to head for the library the second they took their eyes off of him. Sam stopped that by grabbing Jason with one hand and Tucker, who was trying to hide so he could get to his personal heaven, with the other and marched them out into the hallway between rooms.
Jason stopped fighting when he took in the name plates on the doors.
"Sam? Tucker? Jazz?" Jason read out, confusion clear as he looked around.
"Surprise! Me and Sam transferred to Gotham U! We managed to convince-" Tucker started while Sam snorted.
"Bribe." She interjected.
"Our professors to let us take our exams early. So we got out early! Starting in the fall we'll be at Gotham U!" Tucker continued as if Sam hadn't spoken. Danny did jazz hands behind them, shooting off tiny ecto-blasts like fireworks.
"And Jazz just got a job at Arkham. She starts in two weeks and will be here next week to move in." Danny explained. Jason stared at them all, eyes wide, disbelieving.
"We're all going to be staying here." Danny assured him.
Home?/Family?/Together?/Home?/Real? Flooded from Jason in waves. Danny let his smile go gentle as he stepped towards Jason.
"We couldn't let you face Gotham alone. You two idiots would blow the city up." Sam teased.
"I wanted to be close to Wayne Industries! They have the best tech! And they commonly hire Gotham U students as interns!" Tucker had stars in his eyes as he talked. He coughed when Sam elbowed him roughly.
"But mostly because you two need a man in the chair if you're going to be hitting the streets as heroes again." Tucker added, his words too coated in sincerity to be anything less than the truth.
"You're all moving here? For... for me?" Jason asked, voice rough with emotions and eyes shining with unshed tears.
"Of course. You're our family Jay, we'd follow you to hell and back." Sam snorted as if it was obvious.
"We did in fact do that when Johnny dared Jason to fist fight a demon." Danny chimed in with a grin.
Jason snorted out a wet chuckle and Danny couldn't help himself. He collided with the other halfa, arms wrapping around him in a tight hug. Seconds later Sam and Tucker joined in until Jason was in the center of the group hug. Jason finally gave up fighting the tears and they rolled down his face.
"Thank you." Jason choked out.
"Anything for you Jaybird." Danny gripped him tighter.
Someone's balance went out and the four of them collapsed on the ground in a pile of limbs and surprised laughter.
"So who's up for a bit of harmless haunting?" Danny asked when the four of them had settled down, and Tucker removed his elbow from Danny's solar plexus.
"Can't believe I'm saying this, but that sounds tempting enough that I'll skip the library." Jason replied, shifting slightly. He was big enough that Danny, Sam and Tucker could all, mostly, fit on top of him. He was surprisingly comfortable too.
Hell. He knew Jason seeing Batman, Bruce Wayne, again wouldn't be easy. The one month vanishing act Jason did after he found out about his replacement Robin almost two years ago was enough of a warning. The path of destruction Jason had carved through, thankfully a rebelling Realm, had shown Danny how deep the knife of betrayal had cut.
Unsure/Scared/Upset/Angry/Hurt/TheyForgotMe/HeReplacedMe/NotEnough leaked from Jason in a harsh wave that crashed into Danny. Danny sucked in a sharp breath, he'd known returning to Gotham wouldn't be easy.
Time didn't heal every wound. And wounds to the heart were the slowest of all to heal. No matter how much love Jason had in his life, how many people he had who adored him. Nothing would ever take away the hurt of his dad, his hero, his idol, replacing him barely seven months after he died.
Danny was just thankful Jason's anger was solely directed at Batman, and not the little Robin who had taken up the mantle. Then again, Jason always had a soft spot for kids. And this Robin was tiny, small enough that Danny had thought he couldn't have been older than ten when he first became a vigilante.
Danny rather liked the little Robin, and would've hated for Jason to hold a grudge against him. However Jason had done the opposite, becoming strangely protective of the kid he'd never even met. Danny had barely talked him out of kidnapping the kid years ago, reminding him it might lead Batman right to them.
Actually. It'd been Jazz who talked them both out of it because Danny was as ready as Jason to snatch the newest Robin. To protect him from the rancid streets of Gotham that would gladly chew him up and spit him back out.
Dick was always a safe bet with Jason. And Danny knew he'd want to see his older brother again.
"How about we see what Nightwing is up to tonight? We have a few hours before the vigilantes come out to play, you can spend that time in the library." Danny spoke up, pushing a wave of Comfort/You'reSafe/Protected/Loved/Wanted/Cherished/Important/Irreplaceable at Jason that had the other halfa melting under him.
"There's one other thing I want-have to do before we give Big Bird a heart attack." Jason's voice was suspiciously rough as he spoke, but he was speaking, and that meant he wasn't drowning under a sea of pain.
"And what's that?" Danny lifted his head, meeting Jason's eyes. They crinkled around the edges, a weak smirk on his lips at some unknown joke.

The King and his Red Knight
DPxDC crossover fic
Part 1
Really sorry to everyone who suffered through the fact that I didn't know about the existence of readmore. I can't fix the thread now but the individual posts are better? Sorry I have like a very rough idea of how this site works 😭

"Go here, Danny. Go then, Danny. Go to a random cemetery in the middle of the night for no reason, Danny." A voice grumbled, accompanied by the sound of sneakers rhythmically tapping stone.
Danny Fenton, currently Phantom, sat on a gravestone, his white hair a beacon in the dark night. There were no stars in the sky for him to gaze upon, their light hidden behind swaths of smog and neon lights playing off the gray clouds.
Clockwork had dumped him here, with no explanation for why. Not that he ever really explained much when he sent Danny off on his tasks. He supposed he should be grateful, at least he was in the same when rather than being transported a thousand years into the past.
"Wait here King Phantom. You will understand in time." Danny mimicked his mentor's voice as he let himself float off the grave he'd been dumped on after Clockwork shoved him out of a portal. His body floated higher until he could flip around, his legs crossing. He sat upside down, his chin in his palm as he glared petulantly at the assembled gravestones surrounding him, his toxic green eyes glowing.
"So far all I've seen is a concerning amount of ecotplasm for a city without a ghost portal and some blob ghosts! How long am I supposed to wait here?" Danny asked the air, and the aforementioned blob ghosts who were hanging off his body, soaking in the ambient ecotoplasm he radiated at all times now.
Neither provided him with an answer to his question and Danny let out a frustrated groan as he lowered his still flipped body to look once more on the gravestone he'd been tasked with waiting on.
Jason Todd, the name read. The dates, too close together, made something in Danny squeeze painfully. He'd been young, barely older than Danny when he stepped into the portal. Only for this teenager there had been no ectoplasm to bind to his dying body and repair the damage of death and force him back into a semblance of life.
"Who were you and why did Clockwork send me to you?" Danny asked the gravestone, one clawed finger tracing the words before he pulled back with a sigh when the gravestone gave him no explanation. The dead didn't always speak, not even to their king.
Turning his body Danny looked over the rest of the cemetery. It was empty, as most usually were this time of night, of the living. There were a few shades wandering around, circling closer to him, drawn by his presence. No full ghosts though, but oddly enough there rarely were in cemeteries. This was where the dead came to rest. To remember, if they wanted to. Cemeteries were sacred spaces to the dead, much as a temple or a church would be for the living who were religious. Ghosts who still clung to life, to their obsessions, did not frequent cemeteries, did not dare trespass and disturb those who had already found their peace.
Danny himself was an oddity. He had never shied from cemeteries, enjoying the peace he found in them, the guarantee of safety offered. And perhaps, he mourned that he himself would never have a gravestone for the living to place their flowers and their tears at. Who would make a grave for someone who was both alive and dead? There would never be a body to bury for him. His human half would continue to live on so long as his ghost core remained and could fuel it.
Maybe that was why he found peace in cemeteries, for all his whining that Clockwork had dumped him here. Cemeteries were for the living and the dead, one of the only places both existed in harmony naturally. For someone who was as much dead as he was alive such a place held a certain degree of belonging for him.
Danny straightened out in the air, letting his body lie above the grave as he folded his arms behind his head and looked up at the covered sky. He complained and whined about this task, but he was secretly glad that Clockwork had given him something to do. Even if it was just 'hang out in a random cemetary'.
Ever since he'd graduated high-school, revealed himself to his parents and discovered how deep prejudice and hate could run, and he'd run away to the Infinite Realms for sanctuary while his friends moved forward with their lives, he'd felt unmoored. A ghost with no haunt. Bored was too light a word for the gaping emptiness he felt in his chest, for the loneliness clawing at him. Clockwork, Wulf, Pandora they could help chip at the ache inside of him but not banish it. Not now that his family, his friends, were spread so far apart and so distant from him.
Not that he resented their choices, their distance, in fact he'd fought for them to do just that, to get out of Amity Park, to go to college, to become more than overworked teen superheroes. Still he missed them, even if he could visit them whenever he wanted. It was becoming clear as time moved forward that the world they belonged to and the one he did were two different things.
Danny Fenton couldn't go to college when his parents had declared him dead. Danny Fenton didn't exist as far as the government was concerned. Danny Phantom couldn't return to Amity when those same parents were waiting to capture him and tear him apart 'molecule by molecule'. Danny Phantom couldn't go back when the GIW were crawling over the town like ants.
So neither Danny Fenton or Danny Phantom returned to Amity after that day. And he made sure they couldnt follow him when he ensured the portal that took his life to function never opened again. He didn't need the portal any longer to get in and out of the Infinite Realms, and it was safer for the ghosts, his subjects, if the temptation of the Fenton portal was gone.
The world of the living was not yet ready to accept that the dead didn't always stay dead. And Danny would keep his people safe until they were.
Danny jolted from his lazing state of reverie when a pulse of emotion rocked through him, the strength of it stealing his breath if he had any to take.
Fear/Trapped/Dark/Fear/Help/HELP pounded into him and Danny frantically flipped around, head swiveling, poisonous green eyes wide as he triedf to locate the source. The emotions, the plea for help, burned his core, his Obsession screamed at him.
Help/SomeonePlease/Dark/Trapped/CANTBREATHE/HELP another wave of messages, of emotions pushed themselves at Danny and this time underneath the onslaught he could hear a rhythmic thudding. Danny looked down, horror filling him when he realized the thudding was coming from under the ground. From the grave he'd been hovering over for an hour now.
Danny flew down, sending back a wave of I'mHere/HelpIsComing/I'mComing to the boy trapped in his own coffin, feeling the intense wave of relief and hope sent back before he dived into the earth as if it wasn't there. Danny paused for a moment when he passed the thick wooden coffin, seeing a boy in the dark with wide, panicked blue eyes and fingers tipped with shredded nails and fresh blood.
"Hey, I'm going to get you out of here, okay?" Danny told the boy, keeping his voice gentle, soft. The boy jolted, fixating on the only source of light, Danny's growing green eyes. Danny hoped his smile came off as calming instead of 'freaky AF' as Tucker liked to call it. He grabbed the boy, Jason, as carefully as he could and then let his intangibility wash over the terrified teen as he lifted them both out of the coffin.
When they emerged from the coffin and the ground Danny set the teen down, leaning him against the gravestone, his own gravestone, and pulled back a bit. The boy was gasping in air as if the fetid, polluted air was the sweetest thing he'd ever tasted.
Danny tilted his head as he watched the boy ground himself. Now that the emotions were leveling out and his Obsession was purring in contentment rather than growling in a frenzy, Danny could feel something off about the boy.
Disregarding the fact that he'd just come back from the dead, of course. But that wasn't the oddest thing Danny had seen in his afterlife. No the boy felt... not like a normal, living human. Not even like an Amity Park resident, who all felt more than slightly liminal. No this boy, this Jason Todd, felt closer to liminal than even Jazz, Tucker or Sam, who were three of the most liminal humans Danny had ever been around.
Jason felt almost...like a ghost. But not. Danny could feel the tickle in his throat that proceeded his ghost sense but the tell-tale mist never emerged. It was as if Jason was...like him. But Danny couldn't sense a core either. Even halfas had cores.
"Who are you?" Jason spoke, breaking Danny from his thoughts and examination. Jason was looking at him with a mix of gratitude and suspicion. Which, fair. Danny had just pulled him from his own coffin and there were so many questions that could stem from all of this, disregarding all the weirdness that was just Danny himself.
"I'm Danny, Danny Phantom. Or just Phantom. I go by either. And you're Jason, right?" Danny asked, smiling at the teen and oops, yeah that was definitely his scary smile based on the slight flinch there. It wasn't his fault his teeth were too sharp now and his lips split a bit too wide.
"How did you know that?" Jason asked, blue eyes narrowing. Danny nodded at the gravestone the boy was leaning against with a raised brow. Jason turned and almost toppled over from the movement. Danny frowned as the boy caught himself on his gravestone. His skin was still pale, too pale, and as Danny watched Jason swayed again.
"Shit. You're fading. You didn't form a core and your body isn't stabilizing." Danny cursed, moving towards the boy who scrambled back, only to be stopped by his grave.
"What the hell are you doing?" Jason asked, hands fisting as he tried to rise only to fall back to the ground when his legs refused to hold his weight.
"Saving your life. The dead aren't supposed to come back. There's always a price to pay, a balance that is struck. Currently, as you are, if I don't get enough ectoplasm in you to form your core, you'll fade and turn into a brain-dead husk." Danny told Jason, tone stern and no nonsense as he grabbed him. Jason made an effort to break free, but it was weak, and even at full strength, he wouldn’t have been able to break Danny's hold. Few in this realm could.
If they had the time, Danny would've approached this situation in a far different manner, but this close he could hear Jason's heartbeat, a weak flutter in his chest, skipping beats as it tried to fuel a body that was past saving. Jason didn't have the time for Danny to approach this gently and kindly, to coax trust out of the teen like he would a feral cat.
Jason had minutes left before his ectoplasm starved body consumed itself trying to make a core and failed because while wherever they were had more ambient ectoplasm than most places, it was far from enough to sustain the birth of a halfa. Maybe if Jason had stayed dead for another year, he'd have naturally formed a core and risen as a proper ghost. But that wasn't what happened, somehow he'd gathered enough to fix his body of whatever wounds or illness had put him in that coffin to begin with and come back to 'life' but without a core to sustain his body he'd be dead, again, in minutes. And Danny was not about to watch while a teenager, another teenager, died.
"How do I know I can trust you?" Jason hissed as Danny pushed his arms down and laid his clawed hands on Jason's chest.
"You don't. But you don't have another choice." Danny said with a shrug. "Now are you going to let me save your life or not?" Danny asked, not moving his hands. He'd save Jason either way but this would be easier if Jason worked with him.
"Fine." Jason spat and Danny smirked as his hands began to glow a toxic green that matched his eyes.
Ectoplasm pooled out of his hands and rushed into Jason, filling him until the boy glowed bright enough to rival the neon lights of the city around them. The green light flared around him like an aura, slowly shrinking but getting impossibly brighter as the glow centralized around his chest until a small glowing ball of green, like a trapped star, blazed from his chest.
Jason gasped, back arching as Danny pulled his hands away and the light vanished under Jason's skin. For a moment Jason's blue eyes burned green and his hair flashed snow white before returning to black, with one single lock of unearthly white left above his forehead. Jason collapsed back against his grave, chest heaving. Danny watched, eyes full of a sad understanding.
"What the fuck was that?" Jason panted out.
"Welcome to the world of the half alive, half dead." Danny said with a smile. "Want to get a burger and talk about it?" He asked, standing up and dusting off his hands.
"Make it a chili dog and you've got a deal."

DP x DC prompt: Beekeeper Danny
Ooookay, Danny has moved to Gotham for <insert reason here> and is faced with a problem. Yes, Gotham has higher levels of ambient ectoplasm than your average city, but it's nowhere near those of Amity Park who has a goddamn artificial hell mouth smack in the center of it. Also, the ectoplasm which IS there is contaminated with some nasty shit that makes Danny feel ill when he takes too much of it in. Having his friends back in Amity Park ship him flasks of pure ecto on the sly is difficult to say the least, so he starts thinking about ways to both concentrate and purify Gotham's ecto so he's not one shipment interruption from being in really bad shape.
He get's his solution from Sam. On his bi-weekly video call with her and Tucker, she gets to ranting about bee conservation. Tucker makes a joking comment about honey being basically bee vomit, and Sam tears into him saying "That is a gross oversimplification at best and outright bee-slander at worst!" This perks Danny's curiosity, so he looks up the biological process by which bees turn nectar into honey...and he's found his answer. Blob ghosts are basically the filter feeders of the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms. If he can get a bunch of them to behave kinda like honey bees, his ecto supply should be assured.
It works...a bit too well...
Now Danny has a swarm of glowing green honey bees that are roughly the size of carpenter bees buzzing happily about him. Their queen is roughly the size of a large hummingbird. He heaves a weary sigh and starts looking up how to ACTUALLY keep bees and making skips out of ghost-friendly material for them to build their hive in on top of his apartment building.
But, won't Danny get complaints from his neighbors? Here's the kicker. Unless you are a 1) ghost, 2) halfa, 3) wearing specialized Fenton Ecto-Visual Goggles or 4) a mage, you cannot see, hear or feel the bees! They're buzzing around Gotham happily, slurping up the ecto to take back to the hive for processing. And they slurp it up from EVERYWHERE...including certain people.
Jason Todd is slightly confused but not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. Over the last few months, the Pit Rage has been decreasing gradually. He doesn't think much about it until he shows up at the BatCave for an all hands meeting that has been called because John Constantine needed to brief them on something...only for Con-job to take one look at Red Hood and shout that he's "COVERED IN FUCKING BEES!!!"

De-aged Danny at Gotham University with Jazz
After somehow waking up as a preschooler, Danny wasn't sure what to do. His parents and others were unsure of what to say or do. And as it turned out, they weren't even trying to fix it. As it's again Adorable baby Danny, they can fix it later.
Later Jazz was told to babysit her baby brother while their family was away, something with the G.I.W. or similar in amity park.
So she just took him with her to school. And the funny thing was that the professors accepted him because he didn't scream and make problems. He could stay and listen to the class.
+ Out of sheer boredom, Danny started working on the tests the students were taking, completely unaware that they were considered difficult.
To the teachers' delight, he aced every exam he took. From math to History or Art.
+
Meanwhile, Tim sat in shock, frozen in place until someone had to nudge him to move.
"What's going on?" Damian shouted, breaking the silence.
The engineering professor replied, "He didn't get first place on the test, so he's stuck like this."
"So?" Dick interjected, looking puzzled. "It's not the first time."
The professor added, "He lost to the little sibling of our top student."
He gestured to little Danny, who was strolling past them. Dick did a double take while Damian burst out laughing.

The Timeline Shifted, and Sam is conflicted...
So! A Timeline Shift occurs one day (thanks Barry) while Team Phantom are in the Ghost Zone helping Clockwork with a few things. As they are going back to the Human World, Clockwork gives them another cryptic piece of advice.
"Unfortunately the world will not be the same as it once was. Samantha, you will find this especially Jarring, but keep an open mind."
Before they can ask what happened, he shoves them through their own respective Portals, and Sam lands in an Alleyway in Gotham.
She is confused, but a green glowing sticky note appears in front of her telling her 'go to the nearby park, you will see what I was talking about'
She walks over, and sees a lady with Green Skin tending to some flowers. Her head is covered by a Hat, so Sam can't see her face.
They strike up a Conversation, and Sam finds that this Lady is great. She loves taking care of Plants, she hates it when Companies pollute the Earth, and she even has Plant Powers just like Sam!
It occurs to her that she never asked for the Lady's name, so she asks and the lady lifts her Hat to reveal her face. And Sam freezes.
"Oh, sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Pamela Isley."

Prompt by: @shiwalkers-ineffability
DpxDc snarky danny lives in Gotham and is just trying to get a degree but keeps almost getting adopted by various members of the Justice League
“Listen, I’m not like 12 or whatever age you think I am, I am an adult that is going to his class at college, I am near graduation and would like to focus more on that then whatever issue it is you have with me.”
To be fair to Dick, the guy in front of him really did look like a middle schooler…a middle schooler that just came out of a package store with a bag filled with various types of alcohol.
The face glaring up at him still had baby fat, voice still at that young age, a little on the too thin side but not unhealthy yet…he looked like he just got back from the playground. How and why did the store owner sell him alcohol?
“I can see it in your face, it’s the same one all those other heroes had when they ran into me, I have an I.D., I have a job, I fucking pay taxes, I do not need help or supervision. Fuck off.”
And the guy was moving, short legs stomping away.
“Wait, hold on, I still have questions!”
There was a sigh and the kid turned around to stare at him, “What? I do not need the furry brigade busting into my apartment, so get what you want to ask out of the way. Fucking worse then red underwear guy back in Metropolis.”
“You mean Superman?”
“I don’t care what his name is, he thought I was a lost kid and took me to the precinct to call my parents. Got laughed at is all what happened.”
“What’s with all the alcohol?”
“College student, just aced an extremely hard and taxing test and me and some friends are celebrating and it was my turn to do the alcohol run and before you continue on with this, yes, the guy checked my ID, I’m old enough by several years. Just do your weird stalker thing and look me up.”
“Right, ‘weird stalker thing?,’”
“You are not and won’t be the last “hero” to make this mistake.”
Nightwing just smiled and tapped on his communicator, “Hey, Oracle-“
“-Tell Danny I said hi and leave him alone, this is a Babydoll situation.”
“Oh, um, Oracle says hi…”
“Glad she remembers me from the last couple of times, so tell her hello and goodbye, I’m on a schedule.”, and with that Danny was storming off.
“Oof, this happen a lot, O?”
“You have no idea.”

Danny adopts himself
It's a common joke in Gotham that Bruce Wayne will adopt any black-haired and blue-eyed traumatized boy he finds. So much so that even he leans into it. But he was completely shocked when Damian confronts him about having a new brother that he did not want.
Bruce could barely get a word in when the rest of the family arrived upset that they weren't told about getting another sibling after Damian texted the family group chat (for once).
Damian had encountered a boy around Drake's age moving stuff into what was an empty room. The room was now furnished top to bottom with glowing green lights, tapestries of stars, random artifacts, several telescopes, and model rockets.
He knew the moment he saw the black hair and blue eyes that his father had taken in another ward.
Apparently Bruce was the last the know about his new "son" who was currently rearranging furniture and asking to helf Alfred with dinner.
Said dinner was an uncomfortable as Bruce was grilled by his kids on his addiction to adoption. Simultaneously they tried to get to know the new addition to the family.
It was easy to see that Damian didn't like Danny but it was equally easy to see that Danny could cow the boy like a border collie on a lamb. When Damian thew a dagger the teen caught it with one hand as it passed his face and then slid it across the table back to Damian.
"Try again. " Danny said "And this time don't aim to miss on purpose. If you want me dead you need to do better."
Damian put the knife away and huffed.
Tim and Danny hit it off almost instantly. The way they were able to bounce their thoughts back and forth made Tim believe that he found an equal.
Danny was able to understand Cassie immediately with just look in eachothers eyes like he was reading her mind but not in a creepy way.
Jason of course noticed the strange energy in the air around the kid. It was soothing. Like lavender wafting in the air. Well lavender for everyone else for him it was like opium. His eyes felt heavy like he had eaten a handful of poppy seeds. At the same time he felt full, like he had eating a full meal after starving for a week.
Whatever it is Damian was feeling it too. The demon looked even more his age as he rubbed his eyes and yawned. The crease in his brow gone.
Duke on the other hand was more on edge as his eyes flickered towards Danny before looking away. He had something he wanted to ask about the glowing boy but since no one can see it or just isn't saying anything he will keep quiet for now.
Next was Barbara who teased the new kid.
"So how do you like your new family? Ready to be the new robin?" She asked.
"Im robin." Damian mumbled groggily.
The others were waiting for Damian to finally fall asleep and glared at one another in a challenge to be the one to pick up Damian and put him to bed. Dick was winning.
Speaking of Dick, as expected he was off the wall excited to learn more about his new little brother. He wanted the full story as to why Bruce took him in. He could almost certainly guess it was because of a tragic situation and Dick was already ready to handle it as the greatest big brother ever and he wasn't sharing the title no matter what Barbara said. Even if she was Stephanie's favorite.
Bruce cleared his throat and the table went silent. "So, Danny. Where exactly did you come from? Why are you here? And how did you know who I am?"
Everyone went white. Did they all just risk their identities believing that Danny was a new Robin? Why didn't Bruce say something? Not even a signal for the protocol they would use.
Danny frowned looking a bit hurt.
"What do you mean, Bruce? You said you owed me. You said you'd give me anything I wanted if saved your son. I even helped you get back home when you got lost in time." Danny huffed feeling betrayed.
The table went silent.
Bruce made a few calculations in his brain before something must have come to mind. "I lost my memory for a bit so I need a bit of proof."
Danny placed a batarang on the table. The batarang had an engraving on it in a code that only Bruce knew.
"You told me to show this to Alfred when I came. We had a deal, Bruce. You promised me whatever I wanted." Danny huffed clearly insulted.
Just like Danny had said the code was the one Bruce had made. However this code wasn't a promise to grant a favor but to welcome someone new to the family. Past Bruce must have had plans to take the boy in but told Danny something else to lure him here.
Bruce recognized that everyone was right and he has a problem now that he's looking at it like this.

Green thumb (dp x dc)
“Why won’t you grow?” Danny asked the little corner of fresh dirt he’d been allocated when he’d signed up for the community garden project. Sam had been the one to suggest it, and with significantly less ghost-fighting to do now that he’d moved away, it had seemed like a great new hobby.
“I gave you water, and all the other things Sam said to do, what more could you have wanted,” Danny said as he poked the desiccated stalk despondently.
Somewhere far off, there was the echo of screams, and something like a crash. Danny paid it no mind, thinking it might be an event or something starting. Gotham was a big city, and there was always something going on.
“I can’t tell Sam about this,” Danny sighed as he put his face in his hands. “She’d laugh at me.”
He sat in front of his failed tomato plants for a while longer before getting to his feet with a sigh. As he did, he turned to walk away, only to see a woman with bright red hair and greenish skin standing a few paces away. Behind her there was something like a cloud of something and Danny immediately stopped breathing.
Not having to breathe was definitely his favourite power ever, he hated hay fever.
“Hey,” Danny said with a little wave.
In response the woman raised an arm and a thick vine-looking thing shot out of the ground.
“Holy shit!” The halfa exclaimed. That was pretty cool. Controlling plants was seriously an awesome power, and majorly underrated if one listened to Sam’s rants.
Wait, controlling plants?
“Can you revive my tomato plants?” Danny asked the woman enthusiastically, before remembering himself. “Uh, please?”
The woman stopped moving and frowned.
“It’s just that I really tried to keep it alive, but this is the first time I’ve taken care of plants and I was really looking forward to fresh tomatoes,” the halfa babbled.
She tilted her head.
“Please? I can get you a smoothie in exchange, I know a great place, they also do ice cream.”
The woman’s lips twitched and then she waved her hand and continued walking.
Danny turned around to find his tomato plant green and alive.
“Oh my god, thank you!” He yelled, but she was already leaving.
Danny owed her the best smoothie in town.

Ember's Music Emporium
When he became King, Danny had not banned the ghosts from earth but asked them to be discreet, so instead of giving concerts that were extremely flashy, Ember decided to open a music store.
It was complicated to find a good location since she wanted to go far away from Amity, but she was aware that not all cities would accept strangers and it could be dangerous for her if they found out she was a ghost.
Money was not so difficult, Ember had collected several things during her unofficial concerts, among them: cash (besides, Danny was willing to sponsor her if that wasn't enough), and musical instruments were even easier to find as Skulker loved to build them and wanted to help her.
In the end, her little music store set up in Gotham (rusty laws, natural ecto, crazies everywhere and lots of people who looked extremely colorful, she assumed they would take her as one).
She and Skulker worked very hard at turning the dusty place they bought into something nice where everyone was welcome; they also made it a sort of temporary home, seeing as they couldn't go to the Infinite Realms every day.
And everything was a success until someone tried to attack their little business; naturally the ghosts protected it and very soon, a rare scarecrow was hit by one of Skulker's bombs.
It didn't cause much damage but it definitely drew attention. Many tried to attack after this and they kept responding (Skulker much more excited than she was about the whole thing).
But Ember was determined to not call Danny, she was sure they would get scolded about attacking people and not going unnoticed as they promised (although the rude people attacked them first and none of them were dead, or Danny would have come).
When some weird guys in bat costumes started trying to sneak into her humble music store (and they didn't even bother to pretend to be customers like the nice guy in the red helmet), she decided that maybe it was time to call the halfa. Things had gotten a little out of hand.
