As long as I'm venting about Phinabella, here's a couple more thoughts:
I appreciate that Dan and Swampy and co. took the time to give us the Phinabella moments that they did in the season 4 specials, particularly AYA. They didn't have to, especially given that they had to know that not every fan would be happy with the results. I tip my hat to them for going there anyway, and the kiss at the end of AYA really was wonderful.
Having said that, the rest of my thoughts may be a tad less complimentary.
Phineas and Isabella deserve a quirky love song (or even just best friend song) duet where they get to be happy. As affecting as What Might Have Been was, it was so depressing! It was a whole meta duet about how they had both squandered their teenage years by not focusing on each other enough and not telling each other directly how they felt sooner. It hurt so much to hear and see, and frankly doesn't fit their characters. Particularly the part where Phineas sings about his summers being misspent, while we watch him focus on gadgets instead of on Isabella. This had the feel of the jerk boy who focuses on video games instead of his girlfriend, when in actuality, every one of his inventions was created to help or entertain his friends and family, especially Isabella herself!
What if they had a duet where they explain to each other how much they mean to each other, and talk about all the things they have done for each other over the years, revealing the love they had tried to show through action, that wasn't recognized at the time? What if that happened in the context of wondering why Phineas has the emotional bravery badge?
If AYA stays canon, something like the fic Pairing Up Time is the retcon Phineas and Isabella deserve. Also if they are doomed to not figure out their relationship on their own, if someone has to meddle, plenty of fics out there demonstrate quite compellingly that Ferb or Buford or even Candace would be excellent choices for who should be the catalyst in making Phinabella reality. Not Baljeet. Not in an offhand comment. Not like that.
I love the idea of Phineas and Isabella both confiding in Candace and turning to her for advice as they grow up. I love the idea of Ferb being both of their ultimate wingman and agent of chaos/man of action as he gets tired of their emotional flailing, such as in the fic "this is about a girl, isn't it?" I like the idea of Isabella confiding in Buford, and him providing tough yet tender counsel and perspective. Any of these 3 characters would provide a much more compelling and meaningful catalyst than Baljeet did in AYA.
With what I'm describing above, I feel like this could be turned into something of a slow burn story, and it would be wonderful. I know this is incredibly unlikely to happen, but would anyone else watch a spinoff show or miniseries just following these kids growing up? I'm imagining something in the vein of Boy Meets World. I would watch the heck out of that series!

A paltry 2 people have asked why I don't like Act Your Age, SO:
It doesn't feel like a Phineas and Ferb episode at all. It's too dramatic, nothing zany actually happens, Candace isn't even in it. (Yes, I saw her for five seconds on the screen too.) The only part that felt canon was Doofenshmirtz and Perry's subplot.
It feels unfinished and out-of-character. Phineas crushed on Isabella all of high school but never did anything about it? Isabella gave up? That doesn't sound like either one of them. But! I'd have been willing to go with it if they'd explained it or delivered it better. But they didn't.
The Fireside Girls were cringe. Ferbnessa suddenly getting confirmed at the end totally out of the blue, especially on the heels of Montessa doing so well, was cringe. All of the dialogue was basically cringe. It was bland and awkward the whole way through.
The things I did like:
What Might Have Been is such a good song!
Again, Doof and Perry's subplot, perfect.
Incorporating the fandom's unanimous, decade-long headcanon that Ferb talks regularly when he gets older.
Hiring Ashley Simpson to design the main cast of teens! What an homage!
I actually do like the idea that Phineas pined for Isabella in high school and she had no idea, because she had stopped trying so hard after a while so it wasn't even a possibility in her mind. I do like that. [I just don't like that, in-canon, it's made so that between the two of them, they basically stopped being consistent friends and never communicated, and that's the reason they never got together. Ridiculous.]
The episode was basically a love letter to the fans, in a way, which you can clearly see with all the pandering in it, and I appreciate that! But in the end, I personally would have rather seen what Dan and Swampy could have done with a teenage!PnF episode that made Phinabella canon without the fandom's influence. Just theirs. A purely Phineas-and-Ferb-esque episode that wasn't trying to do anything for the fans, just write a good story for their characters. (In my opinion, that's Night of the Living Pharmacists. To me that's the Phinabella episode, made all the better because it's not primarily about Phineas and Isabella.)
#I love phineas and ferb and this is the ONLY episode I don't like#pnf#p&f#phineas and ferb#phineas & ferb#dwampyverse#opinion piece#doverstar's thoughts#aya#AYA#act your age#phinabella#phineas flynn#isabella garcia shapiro#isabella#phinbella#phineas and isabella#phineas x isabella#isabella and phineas#isabella x phineas#dan povenmire#swampy#dan#dan and swampy#jeff swampy marsh

Anytime I watch Phineas and Ferb or Milo Murphey’s Law (I haven’t watched Hamster and Gretel yet) I can’t help but appreciate Dan and Swampy. Anytime I see a reference to the other show, or a silly joke, or even when I see their self inserts in background characters I just giggle uncontrollably. I really love them for these shows

This is not a dumb take AT ALL and it’s one of my favorite things about the show!! And I think it’s very much intentional. Dan and Swampy said they wanted of make a show with no jerks. And how do you really show that a person isn’t a jerk? By making them accepting. Of anything and anyone.
(Source)
There’s also the fact that Phineas and Ferb are step-brothers, and that the creators pushed for their family to be a blended one. There’s none of the typical “oh you’re not my REAL dad” /“you’re not my REAL sibling” you see in other media. Phineas, Ferb and Candace are siblings. Their parents are Linda and Lawerence. They are a family and their position as one is never questioned.
Hell, when you look at the characters that have arcs, they all end up in similar places.
Buford goes from a bully to someone with real friends, his best friend being the one in the group who contrasts him the most. But that doesn’t matter because Buford and Baljeet enjoy each other’s company & perspective on things. And that’s something that often goes for real life friends!
Candace goes from trying to bust her brothers to realizing it’s ok to relax and have fun. And she learns to accept herself as the show goes on. She has some childish interests but so what? That’s totally ok! She can get paranoid but that’s just a part of her! It doesn’t make her a bad person & none of her friends judge her for it. She worries about her relationship with Jeremy but is reassured again and again that she is loved.
Perry never actually had a bad relationship with Doof, but I would argue they don’t quite reach the “bestie” status we know them for until around…season 3ish? Maybe slightly before that? The point is they don’t begin the show always hanging out. They kind of just tolerate one another but they slowly just become more chill with each other. And hell it’s Perry’s friendship that really helps Doof grow as a person.
Vanessa is extremely embarrassed by her dad in the early episodes. She loves him but also would rather not be around him a lot of the time. But she goes through a similar thing to a lot teens where she realizes that he’s really just trying to help her. He might not always know how but she ends up really appreciating that level of care.
Even phineas and Ferb get an arc if you count the movie (yeah yeah memory erasure whatever)—a big portion of AT2D is them coming to terms with Perry’s secret agent-ness. They go from feeling angry to really understanding how much Perry cares & why he kept everything from them.
These are just a handful of examples but…basically my point is that acceptance is SO engrained in the show that most character development is about becoming more accepting.
So yes I think your take is VERY correct!!
One of the best parts of Phineas and Ferb is that there are just Odd Guys populating earth but no one seems to care & honestly they probably barely consider them supernatural. Marty the Rabbit Boy & His Musical Blender. The Giant Floating Baby Head. Drusselstien has legitimate monsters that we SEE both in Doof’s backstories and a few times in the present but he never seems to mind the MONSTER part of it all. Squirrel men apparently exist because Doofenshmirtz sprays for them in one episode. And the thing is like…it’s not even a hard and fast rule that supernatural stuff is normal. The lake-nose monster and klimpaloon and the chupacabra aren’t even supposed to exist but they do. What are the rules here? What is the line between believable and unbelievable? I have no idea and it’s incredible

Joshua Pruett, writer on Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law, said that NotLP was going to be a DCOM during an interview on YouTube with The 2nd Dimension/Phineas Flynn'a Law.
(In reference to this.)
...huh, interesting. The interview is super long if it's the one I assume it is so no idea where it is in the video (if you wanna give me a timestamp much appreciated tho!), but if this is the case, interesting indeed. Dan and Swampy I recall saying they wanted to end it where they did so I wonder if this was Disney going "lol you can't have another movie" (until we did).
I've said before I think Pharmacists has real series finale potential, if they were able to stretch it into a movie, maybe even bring up some plot points from other episodes eg Doof giving up evil (I mean, potentially losing everyone you love would be a good motivator to rethink your life lol) and maybe have Phineas and Isabella have a clearer resolution than Act Your Age gave us, they could've pulled it off if you asked me. What better way to end the show than a big epic movie?

Cassius King Gives Voice to the Night in ‘Dread The Dawn’
~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~
By Billy Goate
Listening to CASSIUS KING, you get why metal remains such a powerful and moving medium of expression. What began as a solo project of ex-Hades/Non Fiction riffian Dan Lorenzo (guitar), soon attracted a formidable frontman in Jason McMaster (vox), formerly of Watchtower/Dangerous Toys. The powerful heartbeat is supplied by Jimmy Schulman (bass) and Ron Lipnicki (drums) who, besides spending time together with Dan Lorenzo in Hades, are also tagged to grissly Jersey doom outfit Vessel of Light.
It's honestly a joy to listen to new material from Cassius King, and not just because they're so nicely recorded. At the core, 'Dread The Dawn' (2022) is filled with exuberance and inventiveness. You can tell these guys approached their second LP with the kind of confidence that comes from decades of artistic achievement and collaboration.
Songs will often greet you with a lot of groove ("Pariah to Messiah") and sometimes go for sheer metal god glory ("Back From The Dead"). The title track is about as dreary as you can ask for, but in a very cool way (think Trouble and Solitude Aeternus). Then there's the melting vocal harmonies that end "Bad Man Down." Cassius King's approach to doom is thoughtful, convincingly bluesy, and down-to-earth.
There are creative choices I appreciate in the songcraft, as well. For instance, instead of a flashy guitar solo to up the ante on "Abandon Paradise," we're given the tuned-down and swampy treatment. I adore this grungy, doomy, bluesy "anti-breakdown" from Flotsam and Jetsam guitarist Michael Gilbert, who guests here. "As I Begin to Turn" also stands out with its twisted atonality that crawls like thorns over the relentless central riff.
Some of you may be wondering, what's with the name "Cassius King"? Most bands in the scene have a story behind their name, and sometimes incorporate themes from history, philosophy, religion, and science, so of course I gave this some thought. "Cassius" means "hollow," so does their name actually mean "Hollow King"? In my mind, I conjured images of an ancient Roman usurper to Caesar's throne.
Turns out, the answer was right in front of me the whole time: Cash is King. "I moved out of my house when I was 21," Dan Lorenzo told me this morning when I finally broke down and asked. "I was extremely poor for 10 years and my grandmother's wealthy husband used to always say to me: Cash is King."
All told, Dread The Dawn is an exhilarating listen. Cassius King unleashes these 11 tracks on Friday, October 21st (digital pre-order here) and the record gets a CD release from MDD Records in Europe and Nomad Eel Records has it on both compact disc and cassette. This is the Doomed & Stoned world premiere.
Give ear...
Dread The Dawn by CASSIUS KING
'Dread The Dawn' track-by-track with vocalist Jason McMaster
ABANDON PARADISE
In the lyrics, I tried hard to bring into view the idea of being forced to leave everything behind, to stop living the life dreamed and built from hard work. It can be as bad as you think or even just a bit of having to do without something vital to a happy life. Definitely open to some interpretation.
BACK FROM THE DEAD
Of course, not literal, or flesh and bone, but a ghost of (or a whisper of) what was with someone or a group of people you spent time with. Imagine the times that something you were told by a loved one, a friend, or family member, where they were extremely emotional. Maybe a phrase , a word, a whispered secret, or a threat. Then that person is gone, dead, exiled, moved away. But every time you hear that phrase or see something related, you think of and hear them say it again and again. They almost appear, like a haunting. I relate to this one a lot.
BAD MAN DOWN
This lyric is a hydra of sorts. A few meanings shine through at different times. I was going for a story line where it seems some of us root for the villain. “You can’t kill evil” kind of a thing. Humans do crazy things to other humans. There is guilt and then there are those who do not feel, or deal with any emotion or empathy, so they continue the journey or path, to just go without brakes. The reaper is a character that lives in theater, comedy, tragedy depictions. Always there. When the girl you want always runs away with the sinner, the bad kid down the street. Beaver Cleaver always loses and settles for less, or so they think.
DOOMSDAY HAND
Important to know, is this idea was sent to me by Jimmy. His ideas are coming from a super dark place. His inspiration for writing is different from mine...maybe? I interpreted this in a couple of ways. one as a hand of cards, of course, but also a somewhat vision of the hand of Lucifer guiding man through life. Each turn there are decisions to be made. Make good choices and you will live a happy spirited life. Play your hand badly, take too many chances, and life turns out a bit twisted. Played out based on past choices.
The verse that I talk of the deck Dan Lorenzo here, my wife was reading me a story from a magazine about elephants and she was reading and the words Dread The Dawn were in the article. I had just finished writing the music to the song and I told Jimmy that I love that line.
DREAD THE DAWN
This, along with “Doomsday Hand” , were ideas sent to be by Jimmy. Super dark. descriptions of pictures of fear of the dawn and sunlight. Sleeping late became a new meaning to me after this. This is vampirical, but is not about just that. This can be taken by many different forms. To become friendly with the dark, and live with it like a lover, is incredibly powerful. If you or I are called by the name of “Dread” and you are in bed with “Dusk” or the turn of night or dark. You are a powerful witch or soothsayer or magician of dark and light. This is a sort of love affair with these mixed as a cold drink. It might not taste very good, but you are stuck in this by your own choices.
GENESIS
Imagine Darwin-ism before an early man spoke a word. Maybe the sounds of trees falling is all and if.. any living thing of flesh was to rise from the sludge. I speculate the craft of gasses and other single cell animals fusing together like a Frankenstein’s monster, or worse, and crawling from mud, to rise up and become hungry and hunt and kill just to become hungry again and repeat. the beginning of just surviving, and what for.
PARIAH TO MESSIAH
I was watching a history program, or documentary about a protest of some kind, and actually was completely derailed from the true content and name of the show, etc.. when i heard this title over the TV speakers. I had gathered what the fodder was all about, and was interested in the angry moments of what was protesting from two sides.
The derailment ended in me fading away from it with pen and paper to start writing this lyric. This shows both sets of eyes. The protest starts and ends for both. There is a winner, and a loser, but by this wording in the song, you cannot tell who either are. Who is ruling? Who shouted the loudest? Who had the bigger guns? It didn’t matter. The insurrection happened, people were hurt and killed. Nobody won anything. No rules were changed.
HOW THE WEST WAS WON
Ok, my facts are not checked and I am prepared to be called out by history buffs. The slaughter of Native Americans (or any other continent of early indigenous humans) by the new order, the visiting looters, who think they “found it first.” This is the basics of this lyric. Based on fact or fictional early American lore. Genocide. White man getting in good with some, trading or exploiting by the introduction of gunpowder (“boom stick”) and whiskey (“fire water”). I gather some history books (not all) would tell the truth.

I came out as Asexual and Aromantic awhile ago, to my friends and family. I was very worried people wouldn’t understand me, or claim I was acting out. I’m lucky enough those I truly love and care about believe me. Thank you guys.
Now, I’ve been a fan of Phineas and Ferb 14 years, ever since it came out. Perry roped me into the show, I just fell in love with him. All I ever drew at school was him and platypus characters I made up. I own a whole plethora of Perry merchandise. This character means a lot to me. Like—A LOT—and the fact he is now confirmed to have the SAME sexuality I have is crazy to me. It means a lot to me.
Some will say this is useless trivia, some will say it doesn’t matter. You’re wrong, it matters to me. A character I loved for years and tiny me idolized is now even more relatable to me than ever. This is fantastic. Not to mention my birthday is the 27th, and school has been a lot for me.
Thank you, Phineas and Ferb. Thank you Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful creative outlet tiny me needed. Thank you for giving me, and many others (whether that be with divorced parents—which I also have lol—,other ethnicities, or asexuals alike) characters to love and relate to. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

I was today years old when I found out that Dan Povenmire, the co-creator of Phineas and Ferb and the voice actor for Doofenshmirtz, named the character Isabella after his own daughter.
Also I’ve found his Instagram and YouTube channel and he is literally the purest person alive
Also, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, the other creator of the show and the voice of Major Monogram, is incredibly wholesome as well. He got hundreds of comments on one of his Instagram posts and took the time to like about 98% of them. I know this bc I had the joy of getting notified that he liked one of my comments on this post.
We may have lost Stephen Hillenburg, but there are still so many good creators like these guys who helped shape our childhoods. Please support and appreciate them!!

30 Questions About Me
THANKS FOR THE TAG @bugaboo-n-bananoir ILY!!!!
(Nick)name: Cadence
gender: cis female
Star sign: Pisces
Height: uhhhhh I am not sure, it’s taller than 5ft at least
Time: night! (Well I wrote most of this last night, but now it’s the evening of the next day!)
Birthday: well I’m a Pisces, so my birthday is between Feb 19th and march 20th!
Fave band/group: Pentatonix! Or For King and Country. Or the piano guys, the vitamin string quartet, Voctave.....also Phineas and the Ferbtones👌
Fave solo artists: I really like Lauren Daigle, and Jackie Evancho used to be my FAVE. Aaand idk if this counts but Michael Giacchino! love his scores, especially the score for Inside Out. There’s also this guy called Clay Kramer on YouTube who makes KK Slider covers of popular music, his stuff gives me so much seratonin😅
Song Stuck in my Head: Well I’m listening to music rn and “I’m Me” from Phineas and Ferb is on so I’ll say that! (I’ll revisit this one when I finish the list and update it with whatever song i’m listening to/is stuck in my head then) (ok the music has since been turned off and now I have “Status Quo” from High School Musical stuck in my head so! There ya go!) (now it is the next day, and I’ve got “when the party’s over” stuck in my head...i think these three songs are an accurate reflection of my taste in music🤣)
Last Movie: uhhhhh oh yeah, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice! It was SO GREAT because Jay Baruchel plays the main character (and the main character is super awkward), so I felt like I was watching Hiccup from the How To Train Your Dragon franchise learn magic and it was GLORIOUS. And also Nicholas Cage is great. And I liked the love interest in the movie as well!! She had a role to play in the story and felt authentic and genuine, which I appreciated!
Last Show: ok well the last show I watched by myself was Phineas and Ferb! Specifically, the episode with the Mardi Gras block party and then the one where Candace and Stacy compete in an obstacle course against Isabella and Ginger (omg wAIT ginger and Stacy are sisters and Isabella and Candace are GOING to be sisters mY HEART I—AH🥺). I hadn’t watched those episodes in forever, so they were really fun to revisit! I think the last actual show I watched was Kids Baking Championship or something, lol. (Those kids are AMAZING. So skilled!)
When i created this blog: November 2019! It was riiiight after the season 3 finale of miraculous aired and absolutely wrecked my emotions. I had some fanfic written that I’d never posted and had been thinking about making a tumblr/ao3 for awhile, and seeing the finale made me finally go, “.....you know what, yeah. The finale is aired, no more spoilers.....it’s time to make a blog.” So I did! And I posted my first fic! And I’m so happy i did :)
What Do I Post: a bunch of multi fandom stuff XD. This blog started off as 90% Miraculous, 10% other fandoms I like...but now it’s just kind of a hodgepoge of my favorite fandoms (with a focus on Phineas and Ferb, lol). I reblog a lot of posts, and then I post original stuff too! I write fanfic, nowadays for Phineas and Ferb but for Miraculous in the past (and probably in the future!), I draw art (mostly Phinabella art because I’ve been drawing them since i was 11 and it feels good to return to my roots), and OCCASIONALLY I will write an analysis post (I’ve got one in the works rn actually 👀), attempt to make a meme, or dip my toe into salt just SLIGHTLY before quickly backing away, lol. If I were to list the fandoms I post about in the order of how frequently I post about them, I’d probably say: Phineas and Ferb, Miraculous....and thennnnn everything else is pretty random and depends on the day, lol.
Last thing i googled: Jay Baruchel 😂. Couldn’t remember how to spell his last name!
Other blogs: this is my only blog! Sometimes I think about making a separate blog for my art and writing, but I am not sure if I should or not....maybe I will someday, but idk. I also have an AO3 for fanfic and an Instagram for art! All are under the name “authenticcadence18.”
Do I get asks: sometimes, yeah!! Sometimes I reblog ask games/prompts and get some asks for those (I’ve got so many prompts in my inbox I want to write/draw things for...ah it’s fine, I’ll get to it eventually😅), and sometimes lovely people will leave thoughts or nice messages in my inbox🥺💕. I’ve got a specific tag for all those nice messages so I can read back over them whenever I need a boost!
Why this url: it’s a music pun! When a song/section of a piece of music ends with a dominant chord resolving to a tonic chord (if you’ve read a certain fic of mine you should know allll about dominant and tonic chords👀🤣), it’s called an authentic cadence! There are different kinds of cadences, and authentic ones are my favorite. One example of this is “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” I also use this blog to be my authentic, fandom-loving self! So I like authentic cadences, and also, I’m Cadence and using this blog to be authentic! Woo! (And 18 is just my favorite number, lol) I’m glad I ended up choosing a name that doesn’t tie to a specific fandom becaaaaaause this ended up being a multi fandom blog!
Following: 232!!
Followers: 292!!! (THANKS SO MUCH Y’ALL ILY 💕)
Average amount of sleep: wellllll for the past week and a half I was sick so I was probably getting 9ish hours a night (because I would sleep in really late, lol). but NOW? In my immediate future? I suspect my average amount of sleep is going to go down because I’m really bad about staying up late even when I have to get up early😅. Hoping to be good about getting at least 7ish hours a night!
Lucky number: 18! But y’all probably already guessed that, lol.
Instruments: my voice, piano, ukulele, viola (but it’s been a HOT minute), aaaand i used to be able to play guitar but then I got a ukulele and forgot all the guitar chords. (I also dabble in songwriting! I primarily use voice and piano when writing music.)
What I’m wearing: my favorite sweatshirt (that was last night, rn I have on a tanktop), some leggings, and socks!
Dream job: I’m currently learning to be a teacher, and I LOVE teaching and working with kids so that is definitely a job I’m really excited about!!! I would also love to portray characters at Disney or something (well, maybe not at Disney because I hear they’re strict, but like....I want to be Rapunzel or Anna or something, that would be so fun). OR, I would LOVE to work in tv animation somehow, be it voice acting, writing scripts/music, and/or story boarding. basically if I could do what Dan and Swampy did for Phineas and Ferb/Milo Murphy’s Law, I would LOVE THAT. (Especially the writing music part. Getting to write music for established characters and get PAID for it would be SO COOL.!.!.!) Also I think it would be so fun to write Disney storybooks! Like, those books that are about Cinderella baking a cake or Ariel befriending a seahorse, stuff like that. Those brought me a ton of joy as a child!
Dream trip: I want to visit alllll the Disney parks someday😅. (Not right now because, ya know, Covid...but someday!)
Fave food: uhhh i really like pizza. And popcorn. Also hummus and guacamole!
nationality: American
Fave songs: “Times” by Tenth Avenue North; “Can’t Help Falling in Love” (I made an entire playlist of just this song when I first started writing my fic of the same name, so I like the original and a ton of covers of it!), “Show Yourself” from Frozen II, “What Might Have Been” from Phineas and Ferb (and lots of other songs from that show, i made a whole post about that once but I can’t find it, oof); “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle; “Thank You” by Pentatonix; “I See the Light” from Tangled; “Your Hands” by JJ Heller; “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.....i like a loooot of songs so this is just the tip of the iceberg, but I think that’s good for now, LOL! (As soon as I post this I’m going to remember another song I love, lol)
last book: I got the book Unbirthday for Christmas! It’s basically Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, but if she’d never gone to wonderland and things went horribly wrong there. (I think, I’m not that far into it yet, lol)
Top 3 fictional universes I’d love to live in: 1. DANVILLE, PLS. Especially as a kid, I SO would’ve loved to hang out with Isabella and Phineas and the rest of the gang! Danville is so vibrant and unique and people are always randomly breaking into song there, that’s my kind of place! 2. Fairytopia (from the Barbie movies!) because I could be a fairy OR a mermaid OR BOTH and eat seeweed to breathe underwater even if I wasn’t a mermaid. Like, that’s the dream right there. (I’ve always loved mermaids and fairies, lol!) 3. Maybe San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6? All of the technology in that universe is really cool! And I would love to eat a noodle burger, lol .
Oh! That’s the last one! Wow! This was so FUN!!!!!!! Thanks again for the tag, Maddy!!!! :)
I’ll taaaag @sketchy-panda @macaronsforchat @simplynewyorkbound @inkjackets and anyone else who’d like to do this! (And pls don’t feel pressured to play at all, or answer all of the questions! I was definitely vague with a few of my answers, lol)
#long post#cadence rambles#tag game#this was so funnnnn!#i also got your other tag maddy🥺#going to get to that post soon!

Fav animated series creators
Greg Weismann, Brandon Vietti, Paul Dini, Bruce Tim and Justin Halpern
I put all these together since these shows are based on Dc comics. I’m sure many agree that Justice League, Batman, most of the DCAU set the bar for quality animated shows. I mean they took a cartoon and made it layered and mature. It made the comics understandable to this non-comic reader, it had action, and heart and humor that I can still appreciate watching it again (I do have a gesture but my hands are tied 😏). Plus the show can got renewed, twice! young Justice quickly rose in the shadow of the DCAU as one of my favorite shows ever. Maybe some of it is nostalgia clouding my vision but Young Justice also ups the stakes by comparing it to the real world, adding and changing their world and having the guts to kill Kid Flash (though I still have hope🙏). Finally Justin Halpern created the new Harley Quinn series which is just so freaking hilarious. It doesn’t have any overarching arc (yet....) but it’s funny and a great stress reliever.
Craig Gerber, Frank Agones, Chris Sonneburg, and Dana Terence
I lump these together as the new Disney since their tv shows are still airing (Elena of Avalor, Ducktales, Tangled, and The Owl House respectively) If people still think Disney shows for kids are simplistic, they have not seen these. They have heart, family betrayal, death, and world building. Also I love their songs, I can’t deny that.
Dan Povenmire, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, Jeff Goode, Bob Schooley, and Mark McCorkle
These are creators of shows that are finished but are still classic Disney like Dan/Jeff’s Phinezs and Ferb whose boundless imagination and songs gripped at least every millennial like “Gitchee Gitchee Goo” or taught us valuable lessons like “Carpe Diem” and “Aglets.” Plus it featured one of the most iconic villains ever, Dr. Doofenshmirtz! Jeff Goode crested the equally iconic American Dragon: Jake Long which I think was one of the first times I really saw urban fantasy with all the magical creatures wandering about New York with one protector to help them, all. I only wish they got to continue the series with one more season. Finally the famous Kim Possible, what else can I say that hasn't been said but “what’s the stitch?”
Noelle Stevenson
I loved her Lumberjanes stories and I am addicted to her She Ra and the Princesses of Power! Like the above mentioned shows it took some of its source material and made an original spin on it like Adora and Catra’s tense relationship, Glimmer’s failures and guilt in becoming queen, Entrapta changing sides while also paying some homage like the funny Roll the Dive episode. It also does very well in making progressive strides like Bow’s two dads and the non binary Double Trouble.
Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino I’ll keep this short since I’m sure there have been countless essays and analyses already more eloquent than mine. But Avatar: The Last Airbender is an amazing show with Zuko’d complex one of a kind redemption arc, Katara’s passionate and strong action girl nature, Aang coming to terms with the genocide of his tribe and the absolute power and responsibility he holds at such a tender age and it’s amazing action sequences and eastern based cultures.
Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel Around the same time as Kim Possible, I was getting my double dose of spy action with Totally Spies and loving it. It is also such a fun series with its bright pastels and rather oddly specific villains but it also had its heart too with the girls’ close friendship and being one of the few shows in my childhood that I can remember where they actually got time progression, continuity and even graduate.
Marc Brown
I couldn’t do a complete list of fav animated shows without mentioning Arthur. Definitely one of the few shows that I can watch again without cringing over a preachy moral. Yes, there’s a moral but it does it in an entertaining way.

So far it feels like everything that could go wrong in 2020 already has. After a year like this, we need more of the positive outlook of Milo Murphy's Law (the follow-up series to Phineas & Ferb, created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, and starring "Weird Al" Yankovic). However, unless views skyrocket on Disney+ and fast, their already-mapped-out third season is unlikely to happen. That's where we can help! Share this post everywhere you can, tell your friends, and check out the show! Let's get Milo on the Trending section of Disney+! I will draw a custom group/family portrait in the style of Milo Murphy's Law/Phineas & Ferb for whoever can get the most people to watch Milo Murphy's Law! (Keep in I'll want screenshots, pictures, or some other kind of proof, and that a complete watch counts for more than just starting the first few episodes. All efforts are appreciated though!) I'll follow up and do the drawing once we hear some definitive (and hopefully positive) news related to season 3! Let's save Milo Murphy!

sometimes i wonder if either dan or swampy are on the spectrum from just how autistic their characters are. i dont speculate too much bc its not my business but one time i was reading dan povenmire's wikipedia page and it said he was a former "child prodigy" which just happens with a lot of autistic kids who are really dedicated to a specific interest (in his case, drawing). i just think abt it sometimes
i try not to speculate too much bc like you said thats a real person... its not really my place to put assumptions like that on someone else
the thing is however i think is that it doesn’t even matter ! a lot of autistic ppl connect with dwampy’s work and their characters in both pnf/mml and i think regardless of whether or not the creators are on the spectrum or if they intended that sort of coding its very special. obviously it would be nice to have a canon-confirmed autistic character who got to be a protagonist like milo, who the audience is supposed to connect with and love and is shown as being just fine the way that he is, or to know that there r autistic creators out there making things that reflect themselves and other autistic ppl.... i think the nature of things is that content creators make great autistic characters all the time, whether they know that or intend to or not. and the great thing abt fiction is that you can appreciate it and interpret and connect with it in a way that is special to you-- and obviously ppl who r on the spectrum or have other developmental disorders like adhd are the best at that sort of thing, its really not so surprising how some of the best, most zanny and fun works and characters come off as so relatable to us !

I just wanted to say i really like the fanfics you and Moonie wrote for Dan. Vs, there’s not enough content for that show and i really appreciate you guys’ work!
Well thank you! It’s been a blast writing fanfic for the show. (The humor hits that sweet spot for me, and then throwing in the ot3 just makes it better.) I have noticed the lack of content, BUT! know that there’s more to come from @swampy-tiefling and me. Got IDEAS. SCHEMES!
