Comenzando con "Twilight" es interesante como se vuelven más melódicas las canciones, pero sin dejar de lado la fuerza que siempre caracterizó a la banda. it's way more synthy than metal but toki is a synthy guy okay. is it truly an agentkaz brand fanmix without a bunch of synthy stuff? it is not.

THORNDALE Gets Fire Power from Andy LaRocque (King Diamond) for First Single

~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~

Yesterday, I listened to the debut album by Dutch heavies THORNDALE, 'Lightning Spawn' (2024), and thoroughly enjoyed these "Groove-Forged Riffs from the Lowlands." The record features tight songcraft, great pacing, dramatic vocals, killer guitar tone, and robust drumming -- all of it beautifully captured by Dan Swanö, who mixed and mastered.

Today, we're treating you to the first single from the six-track affair, and it features none other than guitarist Andy LaRocque of King Diamond with a killer solo!

Thorndale frontman Gus says, "It's been a wild ride crafting this album with these incredible musicians, paying homage to our idols." If you hear a touch of the familiar here and there, that's exactly what it is. Hints, reminders that there were Giants of Metal long ago, and that the fire of those forebears continues to burn bright in talented musicians today from the scene.

As for this track, the trio says:

In "Ain’t The End of My Rope," the relentless imagery of Greek fire and waves mirrors the overwhelming emotions of loss, revealing a deep reflection on the unavoidable challenges of Life and the heartache of irreplaceable departures.

That's quite a mouthful, and it speaks certainly to the passion this lot have put into this song, as well as the album. Dark stoner grooves with a touch of doom and infectious heavy metal vibes come together for a powerful sound on this track, with a lusty chorus that will be appealing to any fan of Black Sabbath or Candlemass.

INFESTDEAD - Satanic Serenades 2xCD

Legendary Swedish vocalist/multi-instrumentalist/producer Dan Swanö is perhaps best known for his work with EDGE OF SANITY, NIGHTINGALE, BLOODBATH, and recently WITHERSCAPE. Active since the early '90s, his career runs much deeper than this revered quartet, having produced seemingly countless bands from across the metal spectrum (OPETH, DISSECTION, KATATONIA, ASPHYX to name just a few) as well as launching or taking part in side projects including MOONTOWER, ODYSSEY, PAN.THY.MONIUM or INFESTDEAD.

The latter formed in 1993 and released two albums – Hellfuck (1997) and Jesusatan (1999) – plus EP/split releases. 𝖃𝖃𝖃 𝕬𝖓𝖎𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖘𝖆𝖗𝖎𝖔 del tercer álbum de Marduk "Opus Nocturne", grabado en los estudios Unisound, producido por Marduk, ingeniero de sonido Dan Swanö, portada de Chris Verwimp, lanzado por Osmose Productions. No sé ustedes, pero creo que este fue el primer disco que escuché de black metal comandado por esos destructivos blast beats a toda velocidad. Bandas como Immortal ya estaban haciendo lo suyo, pero nadie había hecho el epicentro de su cataclismo ese tipo de batería incansable y destructiva. Una característica que quizás fue más de la vertiente sueca, y que luego, bandas como Dark Funeral y Setherial, construirían su sonido bajo el mismo devastador principio. Simplemente uno de los más grandes pilares del verdadero black metal sueco. Bueno, antes estuvio Bathory, cierto, pero lo creado por Marduk en este himno a la noche no tenía precedentes, impactando a la escena decisivamente, reorientando el sonido del black metal sueco, reafirmando a Marduk como la banda más extraordinaria de esas nórdicas tierras. El batería Fredrik Andersson, no tenía rival, pasando de blast beat a blast beat con estilo y fuerza descomunal. Morgan Håkansson daba cátedra de composición de riffs blackers fríos, oscuros, y de un feelin' enorme. Y es que, este álbum, con todo el poder y devastación que proyecta, está impregnado desde sus cimientos por un espíritu único, místico, profundo, y a la vez aguerrido. Un éxtasis delicioso y oscuro que pocas bandas saben proyectar. Simplemente, Marduk creó su obra maestra con este "Opus Nocturne", un trabajo de majestuoso poder diabólico que resonará a través de los milenios.

Moonlight Sorcery est un trio finlandais maniant des mélodies déchiquetées dans la chair de dragon en rut et sur des mers gelées de sang, avec des guitares d’heroics fantazy, un chant complètement atonal, une rythmique d'incendie métallurgique. Le groupe a sorti un premier E.P « Piercing Through the Frozen Eternity » 6 titres en 2022, puis “Nightwind: The Conqueror from the Stars” pour 5 titres la même année, et quelques titres épars sur leur page bandcamp.

« Horned Lord Of The Thorned Castle » est un conte sur neuf compositions, chaque chanson commençant là où la précédente s'est arrêtée.
