This fic is more of a fun fic for onyxonline's Space Riders AU! This is mainly centered as the headcanoned sibling dynamic between Eve Ewe and DogDay! Please check Onyx out, their work is super cool!

DogDay felt emptiness. His mind was dulled as he tried to wake up. He felt like he was floating in the cosmos, the faint sounds of whispering angels ringing in his ears.

He then found himself at a magical place, something similar to Eden's outskirts. The sound of an owl echoed as it flew above his head and landed on the branch of a weeping willow.

"Captain DogDay. My, how you've grown."

DogDay flinched at the sound of his title as captain, quickly turning his head to whoever said.

A tall, roughly 11ft, woman sat in a bark throne made from the tree behind her. Her hair glided against no wind as her piercing teal eyes stared down at the captain. Owls perched around her like pets, waiting for her call to either attack or to befriend.

DogDay took note of the teal eyes and immediately bowed.

"Q-Queen Aurora!"

The queen lightly laughed and leaned forward, her finger under his chin. Despite her tall stature after death, she still had her benevolence.

"Now now, captain. No need to bow, not anymore. Save that for my little Eve."

DogDay nodded and stood up nervously. He didn't really know how to react, meeting Eve's mother like this in what seemed to be a dream to the afterlife.

The queen calmly scooped him up with her gentle hands, the captain being so small compared to her size.

"You have protected my little Eve very well after me and Lucien's passing. I give you my appreciation for it. But I have noticed something in particular."

DogDay went silent for a moment. He didn't understand what she was implying, it was almost scary. Yet he let her continue on.

"I give you my blessing, DogDay Solaris, to become my little Eve's older brother and my son."

DogDay then went to a stunned state. Her son? But she was a demon, a demoness at a very high rank in her hierarchy. Was it logical? What if the council in Eden found out? All those worries filled his head.

"Your Highness, I don't get it. What of the council? What about the other demons? Is this all even safe?"

The queen giggled, a ghostly aura to her.

"My dear, Lucien does not tolerate such of that. If those old kooks decide to harass you for being my son, he will not hesitate to send a little lightning their way as a warning."

DogDay slowly nodded, trying to peace everything together. As he did so, Aurora comfortingly kissed his head.

"Go now, my little shining sun. Your sisters will miss you."

"DogDay! DogDay, this is no time to be napping! It's mission time!

DogDay suddenly woke up in his room, hearing the youngest sisters Felicite and Melanie in his ears as he was shaken mainly by Felicite.

"Wha- what do you two mean by a 'mission time'?"

Melanie lightly shrugged and plopped onto his bed.

"'Mission time' is when we go steal tarts from the kitchen. And you have to stand guard so we can steal them!"

DogDay sighed yet chuckled and shook his head.

"Alright, you rascals. But you have to eat only three. You two can't really manage sweets like that."

The little ferret and mink princesses groaned and ran out of his room for the kitchen downstairs of the palace.

DogDay looked out the balcony, the stars behind the forcefield that shielded Eden still glowed beautifully. As he smiled, a certain big and bright star twinkled in response.

Aurora was watching. His new family was watching him.

CELESTIAL TIME, LES GOOOOO

Here’s the new lore expanding on the power system a little more! Specifically dogday and catnap’s abilities! Celestial users have the most range due to the multiple associations with their respective planet, star, moon, whatever, and they’re incredibly rare. The Space Riders organization make sure that if they find an celestial user, that they must be invited to become a rider, every registered crew has at least two celestial users (mostly one, as I said, they are rare) due to them standing more of a chance against the prototype’s cult.

Overcharge is not a Celestial-only move, as long as you have powers, you are bound to overuse it, when this happens your body goes into Overcharge, a dangerous stage where you become your ability. Thankfully for many, Space Riders are trained to calm themselves down when Shit Hits The Fan.

Red Destiny AU Lore Dump

I'm deciding to compile all the lore dumps I did so far on Twitter, into this post.

Stuff is subjected to change in the future, but this post is just to help you guys get bits of the story.

It's still a work in progress AU, and nothing is entirely set in stone but regardless, I do hope this helps.

Here's Dogday's reference sheet and info:

Here is a quick summary of what's going on in this Dimension: The Smiling Critters live in another dimension, which the portal was located in a Toy Factory. The humans entered and started ruling over the place, along with ruling several different towns to have control over the creatures within said dimension.

The story for now mostly focuses on Smiling Valley where the Smiling Critters live.

Due to the humans mostly seeing the Smiling Valley citizens as if they are Zoo Animals or an attraction of sorts, the small town finds it difficult to have supplies and have a tendency to get a shortage.

Most humans visiting aren't aware of the abuse going on done by Scientists that want to study the Critter Citizens as if they are Lab Rats, or the abuse of Soldiers/Guards hungry for a power trip.

That's the summary of the condition of the town so far.

For the most part the story for now will be pretty focused on Dogday and his perspective, as well as the other critters.

Catnap's whereabouts and what he is doing will be a mystery.

I want this AU to feel like an ominous mystery of what's going on.

Here's more lore drop of the pooch:

Declawing Trauma:

Dogday was declawed. Bubba, during Dogday receiving therapy, tried to get as much supplies and knowledge as he can to fix Dogday's hands/paws.

During those 3 years, Dogday couldn't hold things due to how bad the condition of his hands were.

Dogday had to constantly wear bandages and deal with pain for the past 3 years, making his mental recovery difficult, and feeling like a burden to his friends for helping him.

Catnap CONSTANTLY had to reassure Dogday nothing was his fault and would constantly comfort him.

Dogday, despite everything, held onto hope Bubba would restore his claws.

Bubba had to eventually settle for reshaping Dogday's hands to paws so Dogday wouldn't feel so much pain anymore. (He had to use extra bones from Dogday's hands to do this.)

Dogday was depressed about this but overtime did manage to get through therapy without being in so much pain anymore and had to learn to hold things with his newly reshaped paws. (Tho he still has some trauma)

Catnap held a HEAVY grudge against the scientists that hurt Dogday.

These traumatizing events will show how it's affected Day as the story goes.

Dogday does know about The Prototype and what Catnap's been doing. Not fully aware, the Moon is in a cult of sorts hidden outside of town.

Catnap at one point, gave Dogday hope about his claws before he left Smiling Valley as he was called upon by The Prototype:

Catnap wasn't being malicious when he showed them off, he just wanted to give Dogday a reason to support his beliefs. Catnap wasn't declawed, but he was given much deadlier claws.

In the future, I'll make him a colored reference sheet once I have this AU organized.

Dogday's eyes:

When Day's eyes would be fading back to white, Mini Moon immediately tells Day to go home and sleep. He then administers the red smoke again.

Dogday developing violent tendencies:

At some point, Dogday starts to develop violent urges due to the Plush's manipulation and mind warping.

(Since I DO NOT plan to rip off Dogday's legs EVER! I'm going with this route as a nod to what happened in the game, but its in reverse)

This is so far the lore dump of the AU. I'll look back at this in the future as I continue the story to see how I can tie things together, or what to change or what I like or don't like.

Again, this is just a lore dump post to understand the AU so far in it's Work In Progress stage.

And to help me read over stuff and see what I can do with it.

I made the Plush Delivery comic back on Twitter originally as a one off in it's old version. But over time, I liked the concept so much I started forming it into a story and redid Plush Delivery.

Chill's ramblings about the DCA fandom and personal feelings and issues towards TSAMS (both positive an negative):

(I'm writing this like an essay but treating it like a diary, so if I jump from subject to another, it is because I am just typing as the thoughts hit my head. Sorry for being so wordy.)

I simply feel like I need to write my thoughts down, so why not share them with you. Maybe you can validate my feelings or something, I don't know.

Intro:

So, oof, I got a fic rec from @thedenofravenpuff and I'm loving it so much I really wanna draw fan art for it...

But the problem is that it's a TSAMS fanfic and I've sworn to my name I'll never draw anything related to the show because that will make me engage with a part of the fandom I'm not comfortable with.

My biggest issue with TSAMS:

I have such complicated feelings towards the show and its fanbase and I do not wish to make my life and work more difficult because of it as it already is.

My own work and characters are already constantly being compared to TSAMS. When I first introduced Solar to my fic, he was constantly being referred to Eclipse from TSAMS. Now that the show had a character with THE SAME NAME, it has been even worse.

Dolldrop Moon has been compared to Lunar. Even though the dolldrops existed before the youtube channel was even created (and Lunar made his debut much later).

The biggest issue I've had has always been the fanbase, that takes the show as the canon for Sun and Moon from FNAF and uses it as an excuse to harass shippers like me because they think Sun and Moon are brothers.

I've first handedly seen the damage the fanbase has done to some of my friends who draw, or have previously drawn art for the show besides their own AUs and personal headcanons of Sun and Moon as lovers. I'm sorry to tag you, but @kriimhild and @fablekitty : I've seen how the immature side of the show's fans have treated you, I am so terribly sorry you've had to defend yourselves over and over again for things that were not meant to be mixed up.

I have posted some ideas of a possible Animutant Moon and Sun forming a polyamorous relationship with Solar in the future of "My Dear Daffodil" on my personal/adult Twitter account. Someone kept commenting on my posts that I was glorifying incest, because Sun and Moon were brothers and Solar was their cousin.

The post had "Animutant" in it. Not "TSAMS". These comments came from a person saying they were 19 in their profile. So it's not just kids who can't tell not every fanwork is about TSAMS. It's starting to be some adults too.

Vice versa I've had another person comment on my very clearly SFW Twitter how they're following me because I am an adult artist who draws TSAMS incest. I have never drawn TSAMS art. I ship Sun and Moon, but they're never related with family bond, because I love presenting them as lovers.

Why I ship Sun and Moon:

Because I am a hopeless romantic. I love romantic love. Every single story I write is always about love.

The only exception to this is the Poppy Playtime comic I am doing. But even then, I was originally planning for a romantic love between Dogday and the Player. Yet, I decided to leave it, and keep the relationship open for any type of representation the reader themselves will prefer.

I used to watch The Sun and Moon Show when it first started airing. I loved their playthroughs. I had a big distaste for them calling each other brothers, as well as some of the first "lore" videos they had. My biggest issue at the time was how Moon treated Sun, though. As someone who grew up with an abusive sibling, it sometimes just hit a bit too hard at home.

But it got better after Eclipse and Lunar appeared. Moon was more caring, and I started to really like his character development. There was one episode where Sun explained to Lunar that he and Moon had simply just "decided" to be brothers, despite not having a canonical relationship.

This actually made me really happy. Because the Old Moon was aroace, the love he felt was simply never meant to be romantic, but platonic. And by making Sun his brother by choice clearly indicated that Sun was always the one he loved the most - in a way that was suitable for aromantic person like him.

And it really made me enjoy the show for a while. Sun is my favourite character, and despite not always liking the way the show presents him, I always feel so much love for him, no matter the AU he is in. So I loved that Moon loved him more than anything, even if it was just platonic. Because I've always been under the impression that the canon Moon loves Sun, and is only under a virus to protect him. For me, the best part of any Sun and Moon AU is to know that Sun is the most important thing to Moon.

Why I stopped watching TSAMS:

And then that Moon I had really started to like, who loved Sun more than anyone else but just platonically, died.

It hurt so much I simply stopped watching the show. I've watched a few episodes here and there after that, but I am having a hard time liking the show the same as I did before.

Partially it's because of the fanbase. Partially it's because I don't find the lore very interesting and some of the stuff a bit repetitive. Partially it's because I am scared to see Sun eventually crumble up into madness, because he has been through so much.

I like the New Moon. He is funny and nice, what I've seen. His relationship with Solar has been interesting, and I genuinely hoped they would've been able to take the romantic route after Moon said he wasn't sure if he was aroace anymore. But as I said, I've only watched a few episodes after the old Moon died, so I don't know either of their characters that much to form any strong opinions about them. I just listen to the Monty and Puppet podcast once in a while and get a little inside to some of the lore that has been happening.

But hey, at least there's fanfics. Which is why I am rambling here today.

Fanfics:

It is a rare treat to find Sun x Moon fanfics that aren't simply just porn, or do not include reader inserts. So since my romance-filled brain needed something to fill the void, I've started reading some TSAMS fics with romance (that wasn't between Sun & Moon) and plot in them.

I know Solar was settled to be a "cousin" to the weird family tree of TSAMS. But I simply crave for Solar and New Moon to be at least queerplatonic. Solar is not from their dimension, no matter how much they decide they're 'cousins' it doesn't make him their real cousin or relative because they're not from the same world.

Sun and Moon are brothers but they technically gave birth to Eclipse, who then created Lunar so Eclipse is technically Lunar's parent and then brother and Lunar is Sun and Moon's brother and... do you see what I'm trying to say?

The family tree is so complicated that I don't think I'm a horrible person for shipping Moon and Solar and reading fics about them. Tell me if I am wrong though.

The FIC that is making me question everything:

So Puffy recommended this fic by @theinfamousdoctorf , "Eclipse Meets His Match".

I'm currently on chapter 40, and I am genuinely surprised how much I am liking this fic so far. It got everything; redemption and character growth, the representation of Sun as the good, glowing angel he is in my mind (for canon, and every AU. He is always perfect in my eyes I love him can you tell lol), slow-burn romance, drama, excitment, plot, jokes and funny moments... even if there are a lot of mentions of sex and sexual pleasure, it doesn't feel out of the place as there is so much more to it too.

Eclipse's redemption to become better and realising he is in love with Sun has been so interesting to follow. Sun deserves the love. I love when Sun is getting loved. I literally ship him with every other animatronic in the games and love it when people ship him with their self-inserts and OCs. Because I love him so much I want him to be loved in every possible universe he is in.

Even bigger bonus to this fic is the second pairing, Solar and Moon, which I already opened up about above. I don't know how much the fic is truthful to the canon lore of the show, but I wish to pretend this fic is the canon now /hj.

I love the characters and how they're written. I love the descriptions of their flaws and hopes and dreams. How vulnerable they can get. How closely they stick together. And as an appreciation for making me tearful and excited about fanfiction in such a long time, I would hope to be able to gift the author some fan art for their fic.

But I've sworn to not draw anything for the show. For my own good. I've got too many awful comments already from the fans of the show despite never doing any art for it. I am just scared it will turn things worse.

I don't know if creating a new alias would be the right choice. So my main name/account would be spared from the confusion that the show's fans seem to stirr into, where one tsams artwork turns all of the artist' work into tsams.

I don't care if the art style would be recognisible. The artist would be me, but not PixelChills. Just so I could gift something to the author of this fic that is currently saving me from the boredom of being unable to write my own.

destiny dogday comes from a world where magic can be used and this was what made 1006 use magic to create the mini catnap plush to control dogday and have two followers. in this au catnap discovered the destiny that his dogday would have and sadly he wanted to avoid it by becoming a heretic to go against 1006 but he defeats him and makes him forget what he saw so the prototype to avoid this from happening again decides that he must control dogday so if catnap decides to go against him again he can use dogday this is the reason minimoon always is using the smoke and talking to dogday to make he gets used to hurt heretics this AU is call it red destiny au

Now red therapy au or therapy Dogday follow the lore of the game in this one after the hour of the joy dogday used to be happy with his friends the smiling critters however, everything began to decline, his friends began to doubt this freedom, which caused fights between themselves in which Catnap had to kill them. Dogday affected by this went against Catnap but he used a lot of red smoke, which made Dogday have a radical change, which began to support Catnap and his ideas with 1006, even the prototype realized it, so he allowed Catnap to continue using the red gas, making Dogday unconsciously support 1006 and Catnap, even the prototype gives Dogday new metallic claws so that he can defend and of course hurt the rebels who would later be called heretics.

Thoughts on Baba Chops (I assume that's the name of the Smiling/Nightmare sheepie because it would be strange to copyright that name and then give it to something other than a sheep.)

It's been confirmed by Amber that this is largely a reference to the youtuber sheeprampage, so it being a black sheep (or a sheep in general) may not be all that deep. Just going to get that out of the way. Still, in case it IS that deep, let's go:

Literally a black sheep, possibly figuratively too? The "black sheep" of the Smiling Critters, eventually ousted (or quits) to join or form the Nightmare Critters

Possibly a counterpart/replacement for CatNap? CatNap deals heavily in sleep and dreams, but counting sheep could be an alternative sleep aid to the red smoke

Some kind of shepherd/flock connection around the religious angle? Is Baba part of the "Somniferous flock" or is he trying to take it over?

Wolf in sheep's clothing. A wolf Nightmare Critter disguised as Baba, with the twist that Baba is on the side of good like DogDay had been? I figure if a few dozen lil' Smiling Critters can climb into DogDay and pilot is corpse like a mech, then one Critter wearing another's skin is at least a possibility worth considering

The skull charm. Probably not something he had while he was a Smiling Critter (if he ever was one), so maybe the other Nightmare Critters also have more "edgy" charms.

Those are just my half-formed/spitball ideas around what him being a sheep may symbolize. My actual theory: I do think the Nightmare Critters are a separate toyline from Smiling Critters, a spinoff sort of deal like Garbage Pail Kids or perhaps the villains in the cartoon. I think these consist of scarier animals, like a gator (Alister Gator) and a shark (Maggie Mako), and that Baba defected from the Smiling Critters and ended up joining them. I don't THINK Playtime Co would put the sheep in the Nightmare group in the official cartoon canon but you never know, maybe there is a reason in the Smiling Critters lore or maybe they did it to be funny.

As to why he defected? Possibly he was meant as a replacement for CatNap, and the other Critters took issue with this OR he was resentful of living in CatNap's shadow.

(EDIT: I was referring to Baba as he/him because I just guessed that based on her being somewhat of a reference to Sheeprampage, but about a day or two after I made this it was revealed that she's she/her.)

I honestly haven’t thought about it too much because some AUs of mine exist mainly because I like the aesthetic of the other fandom that gets combined. But! I do have a few ideas:

DogDay was the one who formed their group

Kickin and Hoppy have competitions at the Valley of Triumph

Kickin likes to do flying tricks

Crafty got her feather hairpieces from Kickin

Bobby’s mask cracked at the Golden Wasteland

CatNap’s mask cracked when he and DogDay were going through the Eye of Eden (he hasn’t been keen on going back anytime soon)

DogDay and CatNap are usually holding hands

Uh, that’s kinda all I got since Sky is a pretty open game with simple lore, so my ideas are kinda basic lol. I also have the outfits for the boys drawn so those are under the cut, I’ll get to the girls eventually.

Ah! My bad. I was under the impression that people were aware of the Bigger Bodies to some extent, like when people show up to adopt kids and maybe see the Smiling Critters or the teachers, so I thought there had to be some explanation the public was given to not care, like animatronics or something, or whatever they thought they were doing to make the toys so realistic (new to the lore, that's on me). Figured any sightings could be explained as the player being a (former) employee and those being the giant toys from Playtime Co.

Or something, I don't know lol

(i think the only bigger bodies that would be seen by potential adopters are the Miss Delights, because you can probably hide the fact that they're living a bit easier. )

I'll be honest, i don't really know if the general public was aware of the bigger bodies. i just know that the actual employees (at least the ones in playcare) saw and were aware because of one of the first tapes in chapter 3 (the woman recalls that catnap was in the room with her and didn't seem bothered by that in particular). the employees weren't allowed to tell anyone about them, however, so i don't think the bigger bodies were common knowledge.

but as far as the general public reacting to y/n and their lil family; i think you just couldn't hide the fact that the toys are alive. poppy has human eyes, with blood vessels and realistic corneas. dogday and kissy need to breathe, and they way they move is too fluid. the toys are so obviously living organisms that breathe and bleed.

and wouldn't it be very suspicious that the only employee of playtime co that didn't go missing is now in possession of the toys their company made, ten years after the incident happened? i don't think the player would want to advertise that they're the only one left. although, after a decade, most people will have moved on from one big tragic incident to plenty of others, so...idk

Anyone care for some dogday brainrot!!?? 🐶🌞🌻🧡💛

This is my version of dogday!! I've been super obsessed with poppy playtime ch 3 and the smiling critters so much. The chapter on its own was so much more creepy and lore based then the others and it absolutely captivated me. The smiling critters freaked me out a lil tbh but after a bit I got also super obsessed. I absolutely LOVE dogday since the first time I saw him and what happened to him in the game was so awful he deserved so much better, the poor pup (ಥ﹏ಥ)

Anyways drawing these guys has been so much fun and the redesigns I've been seeing are super amazing so I've wanted to do mine and now that I have I literally want to draw them all the damn time. The one on the left is a more streamlined design cuz I honestly forgot his eye spot on the other one lol. But I wanted his face to resemble sun rays in a way and I am really satisfied with the way he looks in my style.

I have catnaps ref done already and posted em on my Instagram but I'll make a lil drawing page for them as well cause it was so fun to do for this guy. I hope y'all like this just as much as I did making them!!

Smiling Critters: Space Riders (AU) character lore

I'm gonna go ahead and write down some super basic character lore for our beloved critters ^^!

Dogday is the leader and captain of the crew! optimistic and having a strong sense of justice, this dog will do whatever it takes to ensure that the galaxy is safe from corruption one good deed at a time,

Catnap is the second in command, mysterious but loyal to the crew, he uses his quietness to sneak around to gather information that the crew may need to solve any issues with. He and Dogday are best of friends, even when there's tension between them

Hoppy is a energetic space rider! always looking for action and thrills, she always wants to meet new people in planets they visit. Do Not Trust Her Behind the Wheel. She Sucks.

Craftycorn is the reason NONE of them are a fashion disaster. Calm and quiet, Crafty enjoys arts and loves nothing more than to study the different ways art is expressed in different cultures, she's often seen meeting with different artists across the galaxies to discuss about different techniques!

Picky is the chef and culinary expert of the crew! ensuring that her team is well fed before, during, and after their missions! she, like Crafty, love to discuss culinary delicacies across the galaxies!

Bubba is Literally the reason why they Have Not Died Yet. Literally a survival expert with great memory. He's often the technician and tactician of the crew, and personally handles the more...political complicated issues...

Kickin is, like Hoppy, an energetic and adventurous space rider, often seen with Hoppy, he loves nothing more than to go out there to enjoy the views of nature.

Bobby is the heart of the team, literally not a single hate bone inside that body, can and will take care of you, the team's therapist AND love expert!
