Hello Phandom! It's @ecto-implosion 2024 this week, I was partnered with the brilliant @lollystocks who went ham and (lovingly) ran Danny through the wringer in her awesome fic Pins and Needles!

Some Black Friday fanart I did recently!

Spoilers for Team Starkid's Black Friday

CWs - eyestrain, blood, needle/syringe

Everything was done on IBIS Paint X on my phone, using my finger.

1) A redraw of an old artwork from 2021. 'Do you want to play with me?' is still on of my favorite songs from the musical!

2) Some fanart of Linda with Wiggly inspired by another old drawing. I really wanted to push the different textures (especially the fur) with the lighting.

3 + 4) (2 versions of the same painting) Inspired by the 'Tempi Madonna' from Raphael, I decided to draw Linda and Wiggly as a religious portrait, that might have been hug if Wiggly had won. I added Linda's wound from the end of the musical on 4. While I do like these, I feel like my digital painting skills still need a lot of improvement.

thinking about danbert…

Thinking about Dan having a phobia of needles and never letting Herbert sew his wounds. thinking about Dan making Herbert promise not to ever use the reagent on him, no matter what. Partly for the needle thing and partly becuase they don’t know the phycological affects it has on their victims yet. They’ve been so violent every time, they’re probably scared, they’re probably in pain. And Dan doesn’t want that. Thinking about Dan getting badly injured, not letting Herbert help him. Sure he wants him to help, he wants it to stop hurting, he wants to survive this, but Herbert would have to use a needle and he just. Can’t let him. Thinking about Herbert pleading with Dan, trying to calm him down and save him. Thinking about Dan wanting to let Herbert treat him, trying his best to stay still and let him sew it shut, and pushing him away the moment the needle gets too close. Thinking about Dan realizing he’s going to die. Thinking about Herbert realizing Dan is going to die. Thinking about Herbert trying to comfort him, putting the needle away and holding Dan close. Running his fingers through Dans hair and telling him that he’ll be alright. Thinking about Herbert joking that “I can always just bring you back,” in an effort to lighten the mood, distract them both. Thinking about Dan shaking his head violently, holding onto Herbert as hard as he can and making him promise, again. “No don’t, Dont bring me back, please-“. Thinking about Herbert realizing that Dan really is going to die. That he’ll be gone and Herbert won’t be able to do anything to bring him back. Thinking about Herbert allowing Dan the small comfort of dying in his arms.

I am so normal about Re-Animator and Bride of the Re-Animator, trust me guys. My friends and I watched both movies back to back, and these movies go so hard. We couldn't stop making lowkey comparisons between Herbert and Floofty, and it just went "this is literally what Floofty probably would have done if Head Games went differently."

Insanely proud of how this turned out, I made a BUNCH of different versions, with and without text!, check them out below!

1st image is the main one I showed, just without text. 2nd and 3rd image is without any additional overlay/gradient maps. 4th/5th are another type of gradient overlay leaning on somber red colors 6th/7th land more on the harsher red/blacks for the the gradient map.

Happy Implosion!!

Was thrilled to be paired with @sun-spice for my first ever reverse-bang, and I'm super happy with the end result. Their comic is so creative and beautifully rendered, full of so many cool little details and hints at a bigger picture.

We've got plenty of angst, some violence, some friendship, a non-linear narrative, and an ending I'm super proud of.

The premise of this AU is that rather than become a halfa, Danny's infected with the same medical condition that affected Vlad all those years ago.
