If you're trans and have a file at a dealership for your car, don't forget to call their Customer Service department to have your details updated; and try and allow for a few months for any QA-related calls to reflect it.
I've had to calm down a few customers who'd probably gone through a tough scrape right before my agents landed a call, and who were accidentally deadnamed by people who didn't know any better. Remember that a customer file only rarely contains notes related to changes in gender, especially if that file is handled externally. Nobody is actively trying to deadname you, but you'd help us make sure you avoid unnecessary trauma by updating your credentials literally everywhere where you potentially have a file - including your dealership.
Customer Service sucks for everyone involved, even us phone jockeys. So please, take five minutes to ensure that any future contacts remain pleasant and cordial.
