im so fucking full of lactic acid due to doing 2 full workouts in a row per day at RPE 7-8 on average, but my back is finally getting a wee bit more defined, and doing a ton of front squats has inarguably improved my squat cleans already.
it’s also kind of neat that it now takes 2 brutal workouts in a row for me to feel properly exercised—my stamina is absolutely phenomenal rn.
all this to say—i’m on track to compete in WODamania in December as the (probably) one vegan crossfitter in attendance. yey :)

I FINALLY GOT MY GRUBBY LITTLE HANDS ON SOAP'S JOURNAL!!!
Oh boy oh boy oh boy, guys there is so much in this bad boy that NO ONE has mentioned!! The SoapRoach content in here is off the walls!! Why is all I ever see the like 2 moments Soap mentioned Ghost??? There so much Roach and Price and Gaz content here, so here are some random bits from Soap's journal:
MW:
Embarrassed that Price helped him up and caught him from the plane during Crew Expendable mission
Mentions needing to buy Price "a bottle" as a gift afterward
Upset he missed the first shot on the helicopter during Hunted, says it was "inexcusable, especially considering SAM'S shoot themselves"
Put into the infirmary by a dog bite, too embarrassed to tell Gaz or Price (only Nikolai knows)
Call's Price's mustache both a "dick-tickler" and "Price's precious whiskers"
Blames himself for Gaz, Griggs, and Price's deaths (he believes Price died on the high way) and tries to come up with other ways they could have moved through that would have let the men live
Get's stuck/angry over the image of Zhakaev's blood mixing with Gaz's on the bridge
Nik brought women to see him while he was recovering in Russia
Begins mentioning his struggles with pain killers like morphine and alcohol
He becomes almost obsessive with cleaning and caring for Price's pistol as a way to distract himself from becoming addicted
Tries horse racing and betting to cope, but eventually turns to smoking
MW2:
Soap is the one who sought out the formation of TF141, Shepherd merely backed the idea
Describes Roach as "Raw, skilled, loyal to a fault" (implied he and Ghost are absolutes for the team)
On the other end, Ghost gets a simple "what the hell kind of name is Ghost" and no other information akdndjdhjdhd
Roach has the highest score on the rifle test, a whole 18 points over Ghost
Ghost beats Roach on PFT, but only by 3 points
"Have been looking forward to breaking Roach in" during Kazakhstan
"Feel even more comfortable with him than Price must have with me" omg
Roach has a journal that Soap spots him writing in, he wonders what he's writing
Adds to the end wondering if Roach is "wondering what villa claras taste like" which is clearly a reference to Soap's own admiration of Price and wondering if Roach feels the same as that, but boy oh boy Soap was that a gay way to put it ajdjfjdbhd
Makarov weighs 184 pounds and is 5'11 I'm wheezing what a little wet rat of a man I love him
Mentions the death of Meat, so far one of the only deaths he hasn't blamed himself for
Mentions needing to trust Roach and his instinct more, essentially tells himself to cool it with the constant reminders and stuff
Plans to put Roach on circuits and crossfit because he wasn't fast enough lmao
Says he would have crashed the plane before leaving Roach on the rooftops in Brazil 🥺
Blames himself for Roach almost not making the jump to the plane
Says that Ghost "knows something about interrogation"
Mentions that the team didn't bat an eye to him torturing Rojas for information, Soap draws a comparison between himself torturing Rojas to Price torturing Al Asad.
He specifically has Roach handle the C4 after seeing how well he did with it during Kazakhstan
"Ghost hacked at a snails pace" LMAO REAL
"Funny thing watching Roach get taken down by Price" listen sir, give your boyfriend a break please
Very excited and cathartic for him to give Price his pistol back
Says that Price returning and taking over command was the "best demotion imaginable" 🥺
Was just happy following Price and Roach because he "got to listen to the two of them working together like we once did"
Says it was nice to see Price taking Roach under his wing
"For all that coaching, Roach did a shit job with the bodies" listen here sir...thats not a mechanic in the game give the boy a break akdndjjdhd
Knew that Price was up to some bullshit as soon as his comms went off
Kill shepherd: "For Ghost. Roach" 😭 throwing myself from a cliff
"Loyalty doesn't operate on a sliding scale. It's a safety. On or off."
MW3:
Nikolai and Yuri go way back, potentially from Nik's time as an ultranationalist?
Nik rescuing Soap again and Soap saying he owes him a pallet of Imperia for it akdjjdjd
"Knife would healing too slowly for tastes" baby....
Nikolai providing him with antibiotics and pain medication 😬 Soap describes them as "providing inspiration" which does not sound good
Mentions how the ultranationalists have become more violent then they were under Zhakaev
Soap lost friends during the terrorist attack in London
Final thoughts:
Omg my husband
He struggles a lot a lot with guilt from very early on
Put a shit ton of pressure on himself and blames himself for anything that goes wrong. Especially blames himself for the deaths of other characters.
Seems to have had a struggle/struggles with coping with that guilt. It appears to have manifested a bit in struggles with pain killers and alcohol that he manages through almost compulsively taking care of Price's pistol.
Attempts to cope through horse racing (and gambling?) But what ends up working is smoking.
Definitely had a lot of care for his team, particularly Roach seemed to get a lot of his attention.
Much closer to Nikolai then I think people realize. Nik saves his life numerous times and the two work together even with Price not around. Definitely helps to fill in some gaps on why Nik sticks around at the end of mw2
Looks up to Price so very much. Like stars in his eyes this man can do no wrong type of thing.

My whole entire body is so sore (AND I HIRED MOVERS - which is a good thing because I definitely didn’t want to aggravate my lower back when I haven’t gone back to strengthening and stretching it out again (I had lower back surgery when I was 25, and the last time it flared up was after I overextended myself at CrossFit after a very horrible breakup when I was 27)). So much to organize. And so many of my old things I want to give away or burn (realistically or metaphorically).…
I am giddy. Visions of my new life are just swirling in my head. Of me journaling at my desk by my bed in my Hello Kitty kindness journal. Of me swimming all the time. Of me experimenting disastrously with new and old recipes. Of me grilling in the back (my neighbor’s kid convinced me that I should get a grill lmao - we shall see). Of my partners laughing and holding me while we look out the window and see the skyline of the city all lit up.
I’m really glad I cried so hard yesterday. I feel really good about this new start. Everything is in disarray materially at my new apartment but the energy is so hopeful - I am going to create and thrive like I have never done in my entire life. I am going to have fun - like crazy fun. And cook. And rest whenever the fuck I want. And have my friends and partners over, meow. And play games again (I’m getting so hyped up for it). And I’m gonna plot for my future every moment while also living as much as I can for myself - control and release all at the fucking same time. With the occasional breakdown here and there (I am an autistic traumatized person of the global majority after all).

Treating Illusions As Real in "Friendship"
Since there are only like 10 people here who I feel like I can definitely trust (at least as far as letting them read the shit I'm thinking about for real on a Still Mostly Anonymous Platform), I think I'm going to use the blog for a bit as a therapy journal. I'm working on coming to terms with how many 'friendships' I've had and nurtured and poured time and effort and love into in my life that weren't real.
The girl I'm going to write about today, I don't think it's necessarily fair of me to call her friendship fake, because I think she's lived a lot of life that makes her so damaged and hungry for a sense of belonging herself that she's been drawn into some shady things and bad decisions from peer pressure.
I befriended R in first grade. She lived in my neighborhood (well...my grandparents' neighborhood) and went to my church and was in my class at school. As an elementary school kid, we weren't fully formed people yet, and all of us just wanted to belong and make friends, so I didn't notice any difference in R than I did any other kid I knew. But in middle school, when I changed schools, the differences became pretty clear. R was the only real contact I had with my past in 7th grade, because she still went to the church my family attended. The nostalgia and desperation I had to maintain any connection to that piece of myself I'm sure is what fed the closeness I tried to build (and thought for years I had actually built) with her. Her parents kept her really sheltered and naive to the point of being in the dark entirely. She wasn't allowed to participate in normal teenage life like dances or sports events or competing on school teams or dating. She wasn't even allowed to watch PG-13 movies in high school. When we graduated from college, and moved into our own respective places on our own, I remember having movie nights with her a couple of times where we watched like...The Breakfast Club and Ghostbusters...movies she'd never seen because she wasn't allowed to. She was a 24 year old college graduate and homeowner, just like me, but unlike me, she had no social life experiences or shared cultural frame of reference with her peers. Like...I'm a pathological introvert who is probably undiagnosed on the spectrum, but at least when someone talks about Michael Jordan or Nirvana or Back to the Future, I know what the fuck they're saying.
Because of this lack of socializing with peers and even having the same reference points, as a young adult, she was behind, and desperate to catch up and find a place she could fit into. We grew up Catholic, which is already a fairly restrictive, guilt-laden religion to be raised inside, but my friend left the Catholic church for the built in social life that came with evangelical Christianity. While it comes with a lot of social outlet included, it's also MORE socially restraining than the Catholicism I grew up with (no one got upset if you drank or gambled a little...shit, that's a church festival; you were allowed to read and watch movies and listen to music and dance to it if you wanted...you were allowed to date, at least in a hetero way...) And she got involved with multiple MLMs. And CrossFit. She made the dating mistakes the rest of my friends, and even borderline totally asexual me made in middle and high school in her mid-20s. We remained (I thought at the time at least) friends through all of this. I invited her to my wedding (she didn't come; along with most of the other 'friends' I invited to my wedding, except for the folks I saw at work every day, and they probably only came for free beer and so they could still look me in the eye when I got back to work from our honeymoon). She made some very unsound financial decisions (out of character for her) driven by desperation for social connection, and J and I tried to help her with budgeting; J even did some repair and electrical work for her for free to help her out when our son was small.
And then, even through 30ish years of knowing each other, and dabbling in a lot of groups that have some cultish traits, and her not showing up for me on some pretty big occasions (wedding, new house, baby...), but showing up to things where she could try and book MLM parties or mingle with other people who felt like Being Christian or Going To The Gym was their identity, she's the friend who called J at work when I left BookFace, to ask why I'd 'gone off the deep end.' She's one of many people who became instantly distanced from me once the effortless (and I don't mean that in the good way) connection of social media was gone. But when my son was in third grade, right after I broke my leg, she called me on the phone (which I hate, honestly, and I'd think after 30ish years of knowing me, she'd know that) and straight up tried to recruit me in her latest group. It emphasized how wrong homosexuality and sex outside heterosexual marriage were (she was still not married at the time and blamed homosexuality and porn for this somehow). And she told me that I needed to 'literally embrace' racists and sexists to show them I believed they were valuable people with something to contribute, and that would magically make them no longer hateful. That was early in 2017, and I haven't spoken to her since. I legit wonder if she's in an actual cult now; I'm pretty sure she was trying to actually recruit me to one on that last phone call.
But then social anxiety tells me all I ever was to her was someone to use...her parents would let her connect to me because of church when we were young; I supplied those movies she never saw and music she never got to hear; I bought makeup I didn't wear from her and helped her when she was in trouble. But when I left social media, I definitely wasn't worth any more effort than passively staring at her phone to maintain the connection, and when a group told her if I didn't join them with her, I was permanently expendable from her life...she cut me loose.
So often in my life, 'friends' disappear once I set a boundary. One boundary. Any boundary. This one was I'm not going to hug racists and join your purity cult. But other ones have been I'm not going to reblog your stuff as soon as you post it. I'm not going to dogsit for you over Thanksgiving weekend. I don't want to come to a party with this person you know has hurt me. I'm not going to emotionally abuse or abandon this other person because you want me to. I don't want to constantly talk about what drives your anxiety when you claim you can't talk about anything else at all to alleviate mine. I asked you for some time before we talked about this if I could talk about it at all and you continued to pressure me to talk about it so I told you that hurt me.
I mean...i feel like most people in my life don't let me have boundaries. Whenever I set one, they bail. We're good as long as I'm effortless and undemanding and willing to cater to them, but I'm talking ONE boundary...and they're out. Or at least twice, they've done something sadistic and cruel to me first. It makes me wary to set them inside most connections, but it makes me even more wary to try to make connections with other people at all. I often feel like the same little shy girl who's always felt different, because I feel used a lot for whatever gifts I can offer another person, and then they don't stay if I can't keep giving whenever they want. That hurts. And not the first friend up there ^^^, or so many others who have left, but the last two really painful exits were also full of lies. That hurts worse.
Tumblr media
I always latch onto pieces of fiction and songs that express my feelings for me when my own words are failing, and there's this quote from Markus Zusak's The Book Thief that has stuck with me since the first time I read it:
"***A DEFINITION NOT FOUND IN THE DICTIONARY*** Not leaving: an act of trust and love, often deciphered by children."
I think I've always been seeking trust and love in a childlike way, because all I really want is someone to not leave. I have one friend who only left once, for a little while. And I have J, who's never left since he showed up the first time, not even once. So far, everyone else has. Or maybe most of them were never even there.

A ascensão do CrossFit em Portugal
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Benefícios comprovados do CrossFit
Tumblr media
Read the full article

Have a Strategy for Losing Weight in the New Year
Countless individuals aspire to shed weight each year, yet many find themselves trapped in a cycle of unfulfilled New Year's resolutions due to a lack of strategic planning.
If you've ever felt stuck in this repetitive loop, it's time to break free and chart a new course.
The key lies in adopting the S.M.A.R.T. goal system, a powerful tool designed to transform aspirations into tangible achievements.
By setting Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals, you can forge a clear path towards success.
Don't let another year pass with unfulfilled resolutions; instead, empower yourself with a well-defined plan that ensures your goals are not just dreams but transformative realities waiting to be realized.
Read more: Top 5 Habits for Successful Weight Loss and Keep It Off!
In addition, here are some more weight loss tips to help you succeed with your New Year’s resolution:
1. Have a plan of action. How much weight do you want to lose? Break your total down into a series of smaller attainable goals. For example, plan to lose ____ pounds by ____ (date). Make these goals realistic, and then follow a plan of diet and exercise to achieve them.
· Your plan may require changes in your lifestyle. Work these changes into your daily routines one-by-one to attain your goals.
· Write your goals down in a journal, and review them every day.
2. Change your diet. Figure out how many calories you’ve been consuming each day. If it’s over 2,500, gradually decrease the number of calories instead of immediately dropping to 1,200 calories a day.
For example, try limiting yourself to 2,000 calories a day for a week, then drop to 1,500 for another week. Eventually, you’ll reach your goal without being severely deprived.
· Reducing your daily calorie intake will require healthy eating choices. Consult your physician for recommended nutritional guides, and choose the one that works best for you.
· There are online programs that calculate your calorie and fat intake for you. All you do is write in your food choices. Use whatever tools you need to simplify your tasks and stay motivated to reach your goals.
3. Get off the Couch. Set a reasonable exercise schedule to help you with your weight loss goal. Design your exercise regimen to target the areas that need the most toning (i.e. thighs, abs, arms, buttocks, etc.).
· Keep your exercise goals realistic. Start small if you need to, and then increase your regimen. For example, running 5 miles every day will burn off a lot of calories, but it may not be feasible for you. You may need to first try walking to build up some stamina, and then add in running little by little.
· Setting goals, which are too far from your normal activities, will quickly wear you out and discourage you. Start small and build on each success. Increase your exercise time (or treadmill speed, or incline, etc.) by a small increment each week.
· Exercising a little bit each day will increase your energy and help you become healthier. And you don’t need expensive exercise equipment either. Walk or run around your neighborhood or use canned foods instead of weights, go Crossfit. You can even borrow exercise DVDs from the library
4. Make Some Friends. The people who are usually the most successful in losing weight and keeping it off are the ones who have a great support system. Nothing deters you like knowing you’re accountable to others for every bite you put in your mouth.
· Your support team will encourage you, work out with you, and bring you confidence when times are tough.
· Some people find it helpful to join a local weight loss support group or an online weight loss group. Celebrating your weight loss successes with others will make them that much more meaningful.
Losing weight is possible for anyone who approaches the challenge wisely. With some careful planning and determination, your weight loss goal can certainly become a reality in the New Year.

8 Ways to Think Like an Athlete
By Sheila Monaghan, SELF
Here’s the thing about athletes. They think about their bodies differently than the average gymgoer; they work out, get motivated and define goals — all differently. And their way is highly effective. You don’t need a sponsorship or superior genes to adopt this mindset and achieve the body results you want.
Dream HUGE. You’ve heard of hurdler, wait, bobsledder Lolo Jones, right? She made it to the Olympics but tripped over a hurdle in 2008, failed to medal in track in 2012, then turned up at Sochi on the bobsled team. This is a woman who will change sports in the name of gold. Jocks have pie-in-the-sky ambitions that can’t be crushed. And while you may have no illusions of stepping onto a podium, setting loftier diet and exercise goals can help you succeed. In a New England Journal of Medicine study, people who set out to reach a self-described dream weight lost more pounds than those who aimed for a number they defined as acceptable. The theory? It’s tough to get (and stay) excited about a lackluster achievement. “When the result is modest, it can undermine the optimism and motivation it requires to achieve that result,” says study author Krista Casazza, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. What that means for you? Even if you’re just on ramping at CrossFit, make the end game deadlifting twice your weight. Chances are, you’ll actually do it.
But practice small. Say you’re Tom Brady — we know, you’d rather be Gisele, but play along. Your sights are set on the Super Bowl, but there are more than a few games to win beforehand. While the long-term objective doesn’t go away, you have to move the needle every day. “Pro football players call it chopping stone,” says David Epstein, author of The Sports Gene: Inside the Science of Extraordinary Athletic Performance. “You’re chipping away at something over time with small goals instead of solely thinking about the big win at the end.” For Brady and the New England Patriots, that means beating their Week 1 opponent, then projecting to next Sunday’s game and the following Monday-night matchup. Each victory builds upon the next, helping the team gain momentum. Gymgoers have a different mind-set. They see a workout as finite: “Yay, I survived that 30/60/90 class. I’m done.” Connect your dots. Realize that today’s intervals will prep you to crush tomorrow’s long run, and both will carry you across that half-marathon finish line with a PR — it’s all a process.
Be an athlete 24/7. If you put her in a pair of Choos and hand her a glass of Champagne, Maria Sharapova doesn’t suddenly stop being a four-time grand slam champion. “My swim coach in college told us we are athletes 24 hours a day and that as athletes, every choice — from what to eat to when to go to bed to whether we stretch and foam-roll — affects our daily performance and the final outcome,” says Sara Isaković, a 2008 Olympic silver medalist in the women’s 200-meter freestyle swim and a psychiatry research assistant at the University of California in San Diego.
Okay, your final outcome isn’t Wimbledon, but your choices matter, too. It’s midnight. You’re tempted to cue up that sixth episode of Orange Is the New Black. Ask yourself: What would Sharapova do? Probably go the hell to bed so she could wake up for 5:45 a.m. boot camp. “Identifying yourself as an athlete has a way of revealing bad habits that could be holding you back,” says Jim Afremow, Ph.D., author of The Champion’s Mind: How Great Athletes Think, Train, and Thrive. And somehow it’s less naggy and annoying to pass up a second glass of wine or skip the sugary dessert when you frame it as a workout saboteur versus a no-no.

Really feel the burn. Athletes get comfortable being uncomfortable. They anticipate the pain of a bonkers workout and embrace the fact that it’s going to suck at points. Very different from us regular folks who freak out or shut down at any sign of exercise unpleasantness. “A lot of people panic when they experience any discomfort in their bodies,” says Epstein. “Elite athletes do the exact opposite — they program themselves not to be rattled. You can see that on pain-threshold tests of elites; they become accustomed to the pain, and even while their bodies are in distress, their minds aren’t. You can learn to do that just as you do any other part of training.” How? You don’t fear the hurt. Instead of backing off when breathlessness takes hold during a sprint, tell yourself, Relax. I know I’m going to be fine. This is not too hard for me, and I can do this. Then take your speed up one notch. Your body already knows it can handle the challenge. You’ve just got to prove it to your brain.
Imagine greatness. You bet your ass Hope Solo has pictured herself making a diving save to win the World Cup on a penalty kick in OT. Athletes fantasize about having a stellar performance in future workouts or games, and those daydreams affect their reality. According to a study in the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, hockey, track and field, and volleyball athletes who envisioned themselves playing their sport with confidence and control also exhibited the most mental toughness — meaning they didn’t crumble under pressure or give up if a competition got tough. Take five minutes a day outside the gym to imagine yourself overcoming an obstacle in your workout. “Picture yourself pushing a certain weight on a bench-press, but also feel your chest muscles engage, your core tighten as you push, and hear the sound of the bar as you put it back on the rack,” says study coauthor Krista Chandler, Ph.D., professor of human kinetics at the University of Windsor in Ontario. “Imagery is not merely visual; it engages all of the senses. And when we imagine something, we create the neural pathway similar to that created if we were to physically execute the behavior.” For Isaković, that means prepping for a punishing swim interval by imagining herself as light as a feather on the surface of the water and ready to fly over it. Pinpoint and mentally play out the ideal scenario for your workout.
And talk to yourself. For athletes, it’s a package deal: amazing bodies, voices in their heads. A Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise study found that cyclists who repeat pump-up phrases like “you’re a winner,” “feeling good” and “dig deep” during a hard workout increased their time to exhaustion by 18 percent — meaning they were able to bust their butts almost a fifth longer than those who didn’t talk themselves up, according to study author Samuele Marcora, Ph.D., professor of sport and exercise sciences at the University of Kent in England. When Spin class starts to wear you down, instead of thinking, Gah, when is this over? or I can’t go any further, go into cheerlead mode. “If you mentally tell yourself, I’ve got this, your body will respond,” says Isaković. “I happen to love quotes, so I’ll find one to think on each week, and when I’m in that moment of pain, I repeat it in my head over and over.” The fitspo quote that got major love on SELF’s Pinterest boards: “It’s not who you are that holds you back. It’s who you think you’re not.”

View the playback video. An ice queen misses a triple lutz and no doubt she’s scrutinizing that jump six ways to Sunday in slow-mo to pinpoint exactly where she went wrong. “Pros constantly evaluate themselves,” says Epstein. “After every set or drill, or after they play a game, they self-assess the way a coach would.” That appraisal helps determine what’s going right or wrong, what you need to focus and practice on and how to improve, Epstein adds. For you, that critique can be as simple as training in front of a mirror to fine-tune your form. Are you running on the treadmill with raised shoulders? Lower ’em. Are you lunging with your knee too far over your ankle? Line up those joints. It’s also not a bad idea to hire a personal trainer, run coach, pilates instructor — whatever your workout bag — for some expert guidance, even if it’s for one session. A tiny technique tweak could be all that’s standing between you and greatness.
You do you. The best athletes are narcissists — they obsess over themselves, not the competition. “Elites are confident enough that their own bodies are unique, and they don’t have to look to others to see what to do,” says Epstein. Take Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake, the two fastest 200-meter sprinters in the world, who train together for their sport. “Bolt definitely does not work out as hard or as long as Blake, but that’s because he understands his body and his mind enough to know that he doesn’t tolerate as big a training load as Blake does. You can be sure Usain Bolt is not thinking about other people during his workouts.” Which is exactly why you should worry about numero uno — not the random girl next to you in barre class or running one treadmill over (admit it — you’ve looked at her speed and thought, I’ve gotta match that). What if she isn’t pushing herself as hard as you could? What if she lets up halfway through and that makes you want to quit? If you only make it a competition with yourself, you’ll always win. And while, yes, it’s true that most athletes want to trounce their opponents, their main motivation to exercise is intrinsic. “Remind yourself, Am I a spectator or the one working out?” Afremow suggests. Because you didn’t show up to sweat, to work your butt off, to push yourself for her. You’re working out to be your best.

My day was decent. Got rejected from Marquette Law School today. It was my safety school. I was gonna try to make marijuana laws here better. I guess there’s always 2 more years that my LSAT is good for. Still have one other school I might get into—and if I get in, will I go? Interesting question.
It was refreshing and chill to do Catholic Sabbath last night. I was arguing with a rabbi about the idea that the Sabbath never ends in one variant of progressive Jewish thought. Switched over to Cath Sab for Reaper’s and my sakes, so played around with this Sabbath not ending either. It was interesting. I think my theory’s right. I’m glad I did it, and I’ll probably do it again next Sunday.
Smiles on smiles s :)
Stretch goal tonight would be Wings Over for dinner. More likely ramen. Woot woot! :)
This summer should be pretty awesome. Hope summer’s rad for everyone else too, and if your today wasn’t fun hope tomorrow will be better.
Played Weedopoly a bit, amid everything else. Between CrossFit and the hemp market, that’s two really fun alternative healthcare spaces. When I was exploring how government programs work a bit earlier today, I had an interesting chat about like the 08 elections talking about death panels and stuff if we got universal healthcare. I was curious what the call center agent thought about that idea, like 15 years later. It was an interesting chat. I like the Bernie space, and whatever was going on discursively in the 2008 election was interesting stuff.
I’m sick, so, doing the usual rigamarole.
I’m learning weird but cool stuff about like traditional stereotypes about Jews. Jews have horns. The expression "Jew me down." It’s just interesting to inhabit this space. I think like any stereotype, it’s just an interesting space. Chrismukkah this year will be interesting after the kind of year I’m having. Chrismukkah 2021 (2564 EB) was devoted to warmth and tenderness (וורמטה &טנדרנסס). 2022 was tender cause of Reap and the other TMN ppl. 2023–almost wanna start planning for December now. Really, really, really early. And St. Patty’s Day next year.
As far as my health journey, I started reading the International Journal of Law and Psychiatry. It’s kind of a fun stuff to browse through, in a nerdy way. It’s kind of a cool space where Reap and my ideas about law and psychiatry kind of meet.
Doesn’t matter how pro- or anti-psychiatry one is, from one perspective. From the perspective of this law journal. Read a bit about my condition. I’m kind of stoked and looking forward to some cool anniversaries. October 1, kind of the anniversary of the day we met, Nov 19, anniversary of Harvard vs. Yale, May 2023–feast day.
Hoping everyone over at TMN is chill and hope stuff gets better for you all if not. And hi to everyone here too. 👋🙂
Looking forward to paying my Rhode Island taxes and federal taxes soon. Tax Day, one of my favorite holidays right now lol. :)

CrossFit athletes tend to use which steroids most frequently?
Tumblr media
CrossFit is a popular fitness program that combines high-intensity interval training, weightlifting, and gymnastics. It has become a popular sport with the CrossFit Games being held annually, attracting some of the fittest athletes in the world. However, as with any sport, some athletes have turned to performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) such as anabolic steroids to gain a competitive edge. In this article, we will explore which steroids CrossFit athletes tend to use most frequently.
Anabolic steroids are synthetic hormones that mimic the effects of testosterone in the body. They can help increase muscle mass, strength, and endurance, as well as improve recovery time after workouts. However, they come with a host of potential side effects, including liver damage, cardiovascular disease, and hormonal imbalances.
While the use of PEDs is prohibited in most sports, including CrossFit, some athletes still choose to use them. In fact, a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that 10.4% of CrossFit athletes surveyed reported using PEDs.
So which steroids are CrossFit athletes most likely to use? One of the most popular is testosterone. Testosterone is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, but when taken in higher doses, it can increase muscle mass and strength. It is often used in a cycle with other steroids to enhance its effects. However, testosterone use can also lead to side effects such as acne, hair loss, and increased aggression.
Another popular steroid among CrossFit athletes is trenbolone. Trenbolone is a powerful steroid that can help increase muscle mass and strength quickly. It is often used in a cutting cycle to help athletes lose body fat while maintaining muscle mass. However, trenbolone is also associated with serious side effects such as kidney damage, liver damage, and cardiovascular disease.
Clenbuterol is another steroid that some CrossFit athletes use. Clenbuterol is not actually a steroid, but a bronchodilator that is often used to treat asthma. It is also a popular fat-burning agent and can help athletes lose weight quickly. However, it can also cause side effects such as increased heart rate, anxiety, and muscle tremors.
Other steroids that some CrossFit athletes may use include anavar, dianabol, and deca-durabolin. Anavar is a mild steroid that can help athletes maintain muscle mass while cutting body fat. Dianabol is a more powerful steroid that can help increase muscle mass and strength quickly. Deca-durabolin is another popular steroid that can help increase muscle mass and improve recovery time after workouts.
It's important to note that the use of PEDs is not only against the rules of most sports organizations, but it can also be extremely dangerous. The potential side effects of steroid use can be severe and long-lasting, and they can also have a negative impact on an athlete's health and well-being. Additionally, athletes who use PEDs are cheating their competitors and undermining the spirit of fair play in sports.
In conclusion, while the use of PEDs in CrossFit is prohibited and can have serious consequences, some athletes still choose to use them. Testosterone, trenbolone, and clenbuterol are among the most commonly used steroids by CrossFit athletes. However, it's important to remember that the use of PEDs is not only against the rules of most sports organizations, but it can also be extremely dangerous. Athletes should focus on training hard, eating well, and competing fairly, rather than turning to performance-enhancing drugs.

THE MENTAL MARATHONS
Interview with Matt Pinder:
1. Matt Pinder, 23, Civil servant and mental health fundraiser 2. Played football from the ages of 8-16, played at semi-professional level and trialed for England team - mid way through trialling was diagnosed with Guillan Barre Syndrome and was paralysed for a month. Then had to learn to walk again over 5 months, with still no full feeling in my feet. Disabling me from playing football ever again. 3. Playing football was an overall positive in my life, it gave me purpose and a meaning to everything I did day to day, all with the goal of becoming better. But when that was all taken away from me. Football became the worst part of my life, I hated watching it, thinking about it, talking about it. All because I was envious of the life I could no longer pursuit. 4. I have suffered from depression mainly due to the above. Whoever was diagnosed with OCD two months ago.
5. I used to never want to speak about my feelings, ever! Even when I was campaigning for people to talk, I couldn’t talk myself. Until two friends took their own life. It forced me and my entire friend group and infact most of Barnsley to talk to each other, no matter what.
6. Getting involved in CrossFit and the gym to replace my sport - opened doors to look after my mental health as it placed me around other like minded people who after getting to know them. Had problems just like me, when I thought I was the only one with my problems. Going to the gym with other people became more than just a place to train, but an oasis to be around other people that might share and talk about the same problems. (A problem shared is a problem halved) 7. Sport has negatively effected my life as competing in sport becomes an obsession that becomes apart of every breathe of your life. It becomes a chore to be better. And can be unhealthy setting unrealistic goals for yourself. 8. Active ways I improve my mental health is; getting outdoors, exercising, socialising, journaling and eating a good diet. 9. I’d love to see in men’s mental health in the sense that an improvement in mental health should be celebrated the same way a PR in the gym or on the track is. 10. I was inspired to start my campaign for selfish reasons to start with. I wanted to prove to myself that even tho I can’t play football. I could still do something to push my boundaries. And I was sick of feeling like I wasn’t seeing my potential so I wanted to see what I was really made of when my body is finished - can my mind go further (it could). But by the start of the run, and after almost a 100 people reached out to me to talk about their mental health, I realised it was for everyone to see what they’re made of. 11. Since the start of the campaign, I know more men have been talking about their mental health and it’s created a community in Barnsley that doesn’t hesitate to reach out to each other. Because now everybody knows their not alone. 13. One more thing I’d like to share. Is that, mental health will never go away and there will never be a cure for it, and unfortunately there will always be people at their final breaking point that see no other way. However, there will always be people campaigning, researching and spreading the word to talk. And while ever we’re putting up a fight against suicide, there will always be people saved.
