I understand thinking Meganium is the worst Grass Starter (even thought it's my second favourite Grass final evolution :c) because it's moveset sucks

I understand thinking Emboar is the worst Fire Starter because it's the third Fire/Fighting Type and people were sick of them (even though his design inspiration is FUCKING AWESOME because it's based on Journey to the West like Infernape is and it's a FLAMING BOAR)

How did theater Au Xigbar get his scars and such?

Xigbar actually joined the military right out of high school—he was in a. not exactly culty but definitely "tight knit" and pretty conservative church environment. he realized the kind of fucked up shit he was being asked to participate in and dropped out shortly after (and transitioned afterwards and was disowned by his family) but he did see active duty and is...cagey about whether or not he killed people. (not in a "hee hee wouldnt you like to know" kind of way, in a "hey. thats a fucked up thing to ask. dont ask again" kind of way.)

thats not how he got the scars though lol. he dropped out of the military with his pretty body perfectly intact and then accumulated scars and injuries in freak accidents afterwards.

i think ive decided he still got the face scar and missing eye right before joining the Org, and still got them from Terra, but due to timeline stuff and there not being any magic in this AU, terra was literally like. a tweenager. when that happened. i havent decided the specifics but it was some kind of accident that was terra's fault. (part of me wants it to have been a thing where xigbar was saving terra's life? but ive already softened his edges a lot for this AU so that feels like laying it on a little thick.)
