On Becoming Well Read
Why is it important to be well read or well informed?
We tend to gravitate towards people who we find interesting. A fear that most of us have is that we’re not interesting enough.
“What if I don’t make any friends because they think I’m boring?”
“What if I don’t know what to say at that date and he ghosts me?”
“I have no idea what this person is talking about, but I’ll pretend like I do.”
“God, I wish I had done some more research before coming here. I feel so dumb.”
In order to combat such feelings, we need to actually address them and work on them.
It’s not that you’re boring or plain. It’s just that you may not have expanded your horizon enough.
Here are some things that I do:
1. Read 3 academic articles a month (this month I’m reading on parenting, globalisation and urban riots). Annual review is a great resource. The articles I’m reading aren’t more than 30 pages long.
2. Read the news every single day. I have 13 different news apps that I use. You don’t need to use so many (I just like being informed in what’s happening in my country, the world, and certain specific nations). Start by reading just the headlines everyday.
3. My brain likes reading about fashion, lifestyle, exotic travel as well. I refer to CNA Luxury’s website for that.
4. If you don’t like reading, watch videos instead. YouTube is a vast resource. Look for TED videos, Cold fusion, Slidebean, Circle of Life, History Matters, Ted Ed, Absolute History.
Here are some topics I think are interesting / you can research on:
* your country’s history
* Basic international history and some of the most notable/ infamous events
* Classic literature
* Architecture basics
* Interior aesthetics
* Famous people and families in your country
* Prominent CEOs, politicians and personalities
* Start ups and industries that are becoming popular
* Small talk
* Jewellery - stones, metal types, settings
* Massages - best pressure points
* Real estate - structure deals, buying and selling homes
* Economics - rates and what they mean
* Philosophy basics and notable figures
* Alcohol basics - how is French wine different from Italian, why is champagne called champagne, what is the most popular drink in every country?
* Lesser known communities and tribes
Based on how well this article is being received, I'm thinking of creating a free newsletter, with content like this. Sign up here! Launch on 8th January, 2033.

I don't trust "documented evidence" as well, unless it's like in an official website or whatever. it's the mfing internet and people can edit or create fake messages or fake victims. hell, even with the new ai thingy they can create fake videos and pics. who gets to say these are real or not? I am saying this as a victim of fake callout posts who never got believed.
Modern cancel culture and the ability to just throw accusations around and be believed blindly have honestly ruined actual internet safety, accountability and being able to protect yourself and others from both false accusations and real dangerous people.
Its why I take issue with statements like "believe victims no matter what" and "support accusations until they're proven fake."
People have gone to jail for forty years and been proven innocent.
People have been murdered and their accusers have come forward to reveal they made the accusations up.
People have killed themselves over false accusations.
False accusations and blind witch hunting can ruin a person's life for literal decades.
It has absolutely nothing to do with proship vs antiship culture, even though the latter culture is in part what has exacerbated my stance. It has everything to do with the fact that practically weekly there's new news headlines about people milking a dead celebrity's estate with easily disproven claims, or bitter teenagers faking screenshots and falling over themselves to get internet sympathy because their boyfriend broke up with them.
I will always give victims a certain amount of benefit of doubt, but what I won't do is blindly launch a brigade against someone based on claims with no proof or flimsy proof with more holes in it than a festival tent.

hey amelie! i just wanted to ask, how long did it take for you to learn how to build? did you watch youtube tutorials or anything like that? idk, i’ve always wanted to build a house for my own sims but it’s so hard for me to like what i’ve made. did you feel this way too? do you have any tips? sorry i’m such a yapper 😭 have a great day! <3
Hello! Watching simmers like bojanasims, lilsimsie and simlicy on youtube helped me a lot especially when I started building lots myself about one and a half years ago! I listed a few tips for you below!
I also received a similar message from another anon so I'll be answering both here. 🤍
'hiii i recently discovered your yt channel and i love your builds. how did you improve your building skills and how do you make your builds so realistic? 🩵'
Tumblr media
Study Real Architecture: Look at real-life houses, apartments, and buildings to understand architectural styles, layouts, and details. This can give you inspiration and ideas for your own builds. My favorites are pinterest and real estate/architect websites.
Plan Your Build: Before starting, come up with a plan and layout for the build. Decide on the overall style (modern, traditional, etc.), number of rooms, color scheme and any special features you want to include.
Get Acquainted with The Basics: Understand the basic tools and controls in Build Mode. Practice using the wall tool, room tool, roof and terrain tools to create a solid foundation for all your builds. There are a lot of really informative tutorials on youtube! (important for beginners)
Pay Attention to Scale and Proportions: Ensure that rooms, windows, doors, and furniture are proportionate to each other. This helps in creating a realistic and cohesive look.
Use Realistic Colors and Textures: Choose colors and textures that are realistic and complement each other well. Consider the overall color scheme of the house and how different materials blend together.
Add Detailing: Pay attention to small details like trim around windows and doors, roof overhangs, and landscaping. These details can make a big difference in the overall appearance of your build.
Experiment with Roofing and Terrain: Roofs and landscaping can significantly impact the realism of your build. Experiment with different roof shapes, angles, and materials. Use terrain tools to create realistic slopes and landscaping features.
Furnish Thoughtfully: When furnishing your builds, think about how real people would use the space. Arrange furniture in a way that makes sense functionally and aesthetically.
Utilize Custom Content (CC): Explore custom content to expand your options for building, furniture and decorative items. This can often help to create a more realistic look as well.
Seek Feedback and Learn from Others: Share your builds in sims discord groups or on Simblr to ask for feedback and look for inspiration. Look at tutorials and speed builds by other players/creators to learn new techniques and tricks. (please don't copy or steal other people's builds to post online though)
Practice Regularly: Like any skill, building in The Sims 4 improves with practice. Experiment with different styles and challenge yourself with more complex builds over time.
Have Fun and Be Creative: Building in The Sims 4 is a creative outlet, so enjoy the process and don't be afraid to try new things in your designs.

[EN] Video Game Writing Resources!
Hello! My name is Andrea--I have been writing for games since 2018, and even worked as a writer at Firaxis Games from 2022 until April of 2023. So, I knew a few things about narrative design--but what the fuck is it? Recently, I gave a talk about the fundamentals and history of the field of narrative design. In Spanish. So, let's talk about it in English--the "what," "why," "how," "when," and "who," of narrative design! What is narrative design? Narrative design is not just writing--it's a huge part of it, but designing a narrative system involves implementing narrative content into the build of the game. So there is a technical learning curve to it. Personally, I watched and obtained certifications in Unreal Engine 5 and Unity in order to be aware of the limitations of each engine. I used the free trial of LinkedIn Learning, but courses about this engine are available in these websites: - https://platzi.com/ - https://www.arkde.com/ - https://www.domestika.org/?query=unity - https://www.coursera.org/ Why do we need narrative design? In order to create an interactive story that the player feels a part of, narrative designers are mandatory. It's not a responsibility that can be placed on other designers (then we would be entering crunch territory) rather someone who specifically specializes in both creative writing and game design is needed to explain within the context of the game's story why the mechanics work in a certain way. Imagine if a Telltale game did not have dialogue, for example--what would we be left with? Or if The Last Of Us did not convey a narrative through its environments.
Narrative designers are needed so that all of the departments are in sync and understand the story that they are trying to tell. For example, if a game takes place in a haunted house that was abandoned, we need all hands on deck. The narrative designer can explain to the environment artists why there are so many holes in the living room--perhaps the last tenants of the house were a rowdy bunch. Or, they can tell the sound designers which planks of wood are the most rotten and need a loud sound effect to highlight how it has been abandoned. How do I become a narrative designer? There is no one way to become a narrative designer. Some people start in QA and transition into the field, I have also witnessed engineers and doctors wanting to get into narrative design. I do recommend having the following (at least): - A passion for storytelling. - Deep understanding of the mechanics of the game and the player experience. - Communication skills are incredibly important--can you describe your story in a concise way to your peers in a Confluence page?
Documentation skills are also a massive plus.
Very basic understanding of game engines and limitations. You don't have to be a computer science major, but know what your requests will entail. If you have an idea of a cutscene, can the engine handle it? Will the animators have enough time? Is it within scope?
If you can, attend game jams! They are an amazing way to network with amazing people and get a feel of what the game production pipeline is like.
Additionally, I highly recommend the following resources: First, the free resources! ~It's free real estate~
Look up Twinery tutorials. (https://twinery.org/) Not only is it free, but you can use it on your browser. More importantly, you will learn about branching narratives and can create your own games within a few minutes--the interface, though it requires a bit of coding, is incredibly easy to use and there are a lot of tutorials available online.
Download Ren'Py (https://www.renpy.org/) and watch tutorials. It's free, and there is a huge community of visual novel developers who may need help with narrative designers, writers, editors and even translators. An amazing resource that a colleague shared was this Discord with visual novel developers--if you have an idea, feel free to connect with artists and voice actors here! https://discord.gg/nW5yn4FE
Network, network, network! Follow narrative design and game writer groups on Discord, Facebook and even LinkedIn. -- An amazing convention that is online, free and accessible regarding narrative design is LudoNarraCon.
If you go to itch.io you will see a list of game jams that you can attend to for free! Some game jams that I have attended and had a positive experience are the following: - Woman Game Jam. I encourage folks from marginalized genders to attend this game jam, as we have a large pool of mentors willing to help in every single discipline at any time due to the global nature of it. It is a safe and inclusive space for women and nonbinary folx who want to get into the gaming industry! - Global Game Jam. Self explanatory, it has some in-person opportunities but you can also attend remotely. - Greenlight Jam. Do you have an idea that can not be done in only 48 hours? The Greenlight Jam is amazing, as it lasts four weeks--which allows narrative designers to develop complex narrative systems and even record voice lines for a more complex project. Side Note: Even though most game jams have a time limit, I do encourage narrative designers to develop and polish the prototypes and levels created during game jams to have portfolios and writing samples that stand out!
Work With Indies is a job site that publishes job opportunities--including ones in writing and narrative design. Additionally, their Discord has some networking events with writers so you can connect with them.
Other websites that not only publish jobs but include networking events are Hitmarker.net (this is their Discord), IndieGameAcademy (link to Discord),
Newsletters! A lot of experienced game writers have newsletters dedicated to the craft, to name a few that I highly recommend: -- Greg Buchanan's newsletter. Rounds up game writing news every Tuesday, and includes job opportunities. -- Bright Whitney's newsletter. A studio founder with amazing insights regarding game design and thoughtful narrative, Whitney's threads are extremely insightful. -- Susan O'Connor's blog on The Narrative Department. In addition to providing free knowledge regarding world building, narrative design, game writing and other specifics of the craft Susan interviews industry professionals and alumni who offer testimonials that have amazing advice. -- GDC talks about narrative design. Though I recommend the GDC vault as well in the next section, I highly recommend the GDC talks regarding not only narrative design but the development of your favorite titles!
Now, for resources that may not be free--but I highly recommend, as someone who used them first hand. - The Narrative Department. This post is not sponsored by them at all, however it is rare to find an instructor as kind and hard-working as Susan O'Connor who has been a narrative designer in historic AAA, AA and independent titles. Known for her contributions in Tomb Raider, Batman: The Enemy Within, and BioShock to name a few (imdb is: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1897248/) her Game Writing Masterclass offers a certification in everything related to game writing. A few subjects she touches on are: -- Characters and how to make them compelling. -- Barks and ambience writing. -- Dialogue, backstories and scripts. -- How to work with other departments. And more! Additionally, you would obtain access to a huge alumni network full of game writing professionals working in independent, AA and AAA studios! Not to mention that all of the assignments completed in the class will look amazing in a portfolio as game writing samples. - GDC Vault. Though I have an opinion on the price tag of GDC tickets and the vault, I would definitely include it as it has resources from several studios, writers, narrative designers and more! When was narrative design formed? When can I become a narrative designer?
That's a wonderful question. Narrative design, as a term, was first used around the 90s but became more established between the 2000s and 2010s. So, although the field is relatively new, and there are not a lot educational resources available, consider yourself part of an innovative field that is exponentially growing! Recently, a game developer asked when was the best time to keep an eye out for job openings. And a harsh truth about the gaming industry is that it is extremely volatile--layoffs, downsizings and startups rise and fall. This is not meant to deter anyone from pursuing a career in narrative design, but rather I am including it for the sake of transparency. We cannot predict when a studio is going to layoff their employees, or when they cancel unannounced projects. Unlike most industries where we know for a fact that recruiters keep a sharp eye for candidates in Q1 and Q3, a piece of advice I received from a mentor of mine was to try to predict when projects are going to need more stories. There's the release of a game, and then there is the addition of additional narrative content--and for this, they will more than likely need associate/entry/junior level narrative designers, writers and quest designers. But--this is related to searching for a job as a narrative designer, and I can write a novel about that (and will edit this article to redirect folx into it.) So, keep an eye out for huge game announcements. Then, cater your resume to what the studio is looking for in a narrative designer. Now, to finish off this article: Who is a narrative designer? If you have a passion for storytelling and games, and have participated in game jams, congratulations you are a wonderful narrative designer! Make sure you always include that you are a narrative designer, and not an aspiring narrative designer--it makes you stand out amongst applicants. That's all I have for now--feel free to interact, comment and share! Let me know if I missed something and I will be sure to add it.

ok open question. should i start making gifs/posting again? i've had a few years of a hiatus from it and, while i ultimately stopped because my old laptop broke, i made a conscious decision not to go back to it at the time. it was so much energy and effort and, as fandoms on tumblr have largely died down, i wasn't meeting any new people, there wasn't any real discourse or engagement and it just felt like posting into a void out of habit.
i originally started making content because i felt like it was my way of showing appreciation for the type of media i was engaging with, and i loved the people i met through it. but near the end, it felt like i was just posting to post and the fact that people kept stealing my content to post on other platforms (along with official !!! archival website and estates without credit) really irritated me. it was like doing work for other people but being largely ignored (the downfall of any leo; and not so much that i needed personal credit but the fact that others were regularly ripping my content off and actively amassing a huge audience off the back of my work like an energy vampire was frustrating to me because it felt like they were just doing it for personal gain as opposed to genuine appreciation of said media).
but. i'm conflicted because there are so many rare films that i've been saving digital copies of/ripping for years, that don't have any content. and i'd love to, again, show appreciation to them in that way and bring light to them??? maybe even meet more people who are already fans with those things and currently don't have anyone/anything to engage with? i've toyed around with making a tiktok and creating edits for those films/stars, since most of tiktok editors edit the same 3-5 movies for old hollywood and even more of them just use gifs from tumblr in their videos lol this might be a totally useless post but. just wondering aloud. would love anyone's perspective who's continued to post, who used to but doesn't anymore, anyone really!

BL doujin & Men Who Make Some of Them
If BL is stories of androphilic men by androphilic women, then what’s the opposite of that? It would probably be stories of androphilic women by androphilic men.
The latter is what Minamoto Kazuki mainly dabbles in.
Tumblr media
Apart from straight & BL manga, he also authored Shoujo Manga Artist Minamoto-San Comes Out. Yeah, that’s the title. It is autobiographical if that wasn’t obvious. Arguably, his most famous manga, at least in BL fandom, is Wall Circle's Doujin Artist Nekoyashiki-Kun's Desire for Recognition Grows which got live-action adaptation: KabeKoji in 2022.
Androphilic male characters who create straight content is not rare in BL. In 2023, from what I can recall, we got two such characters: Sung Woo Jae from Individual Circumstances (2023) and Yoh from Taikan Yoho (2023). Jinta from Cherry Magic (2023) also writes (presumably straight) romance. Even before that, we got an entire BL live-action franchise (starting with The Novelist (2018)).
Doujin production and consumption
Doujinshi (doujin for short) is self-published works. It includes both derivative works (fan works) as well as original works. It is estimated that nearly half of the doujin produced and circulated are BL. These are traditionally sold at conventions like Comiket. These days doujin are sold online, for example through dedicated websites like DL site.
Doujinshi culture and Comiket especially has been instrumental in the development of BL as a genre. Unfortunately, unlike other BL pioneers such as Mari Mori (her 1961 novel A Lovers' Forest is considered the first BL) and the Year 24 Group, Meikyu doujin circle (Yoshihiro Yonezawa in particular) seldom find mention in history of BL.
BL doujin grew side by side with commercially published works. The original use of the portmanteau yaoi (no peak, no fall, no meaning) was an indication of plot what plot nature of those doujins that subverted the East Asian narrative structure to focuse exclusively on erotic relations. Doujin BL varied widely in themes and approaches, even more than commercial BL as doujin are not created to appeal to the masses, instead cater to super-specific fandoms. Also, it is easier to debut into doujin arena than to commercial BL. However, since these are literally ‘thin books’ in most cases, there is associated limitation. There is cost of printing to be taken into account as well.
As more explicit doujin (yaoi) and less explicit BL (shonen ai, etc.) coevolved in a porous environment, BL transformed into a successful genre in itself with numerous dedicated magazines and multimedia adaptations. Moreover, doujin was good ground for experimentation and yields in that arena made its way into mainstream BL and enriched it.
Commercial BL welcomed many doujinshika into its fold. e.g. Ayano Yamane (author of the Finder series) is associated with a bunch of doujin circles at different points in time: GUN MANIA, Shouhoku Taiiku Yougushitsu and Ouka Seisaku.
BL mangaka continued producing both doujin and commercial BL. e.g. Kizu Natsuki (author of Given) is a prolific doujinshika under the name Gusari in Sashikizu circle.
BL mangaka produced doujin of their own work. e.g. Ichikawa Kei (author of Blue Sky Complex) published erotic extras as doujin.
These days, there is pixiv among others and long serialization possibilities. Authors are less constrained by space – unlike physical publication, web publication is not constrained by real estate (number of pages, chapters, etc.). Thanks to the internet, the distance between doujin and commercial BL have shortened.
A lot of gei comi (bara) is also self-published.
Doujin BL culture exists everywhere BL is famous with wide variation.
Doujin played an important role in emergence and growth of Korean BL. e.g. Totally Captivated by Yoo Ha Jin had doujin extras.
Chinese doujin culture is slightly different from that in other countries. Note-worthy is the self-publication of danmei (Chinese BL) novels. Three most recent cases against danmei authors [and their accomplices including those who helped the authors print, bind, package and sell those copies] were for self-publication.
天一(Tian Yi) for her student X teacher SM erotica 攻占 (Seize Control)  - charged for self-publication and violation of law prohibiting publication of obscenity [explicit SM involving a 17-year-old student and his teacher in the novel]
深海先生 (Mr. Deep Sea) for her historical romance 锁帝翎 (aka 笼中帝 ; The Caged Emperor)  - charged for self-publication.
There is a third. But the details are not available in the public domain.
It used to be a common practice for authors to self-publish uncensored versions of their web-published works, sometimes with explicit extras. These were intended for fans who wanted to collect these copies and to express their appreciation to the authors. Both self-publishing and “obscene content” are illegal in China.
Doujin, BL and their creators
Kabe Koji is the journey of a doujinshika, Mamoru Nekoyashiki, who yearns to be recognized as such and also as a beloved. While in high school, he fell in love with his childhood friend Kazama Issei whom he is sure doesn’t like him like that, thanks to rampant compulsory heterosexuality. Being gay was something he felt he had to keep under wraps not only because of fear of rejection but also because of heterosexism. Talented in drawing, he visits Comic King, a popular otaku convention where he discovers a different world – where male androphilia is celebrated in art.
Tumblr media
This inspires him to cultivate his talent in drawing and to pursue a career in manga. Since the art he was most drawn in by was ero-manga with macho uke with bitch characteristics, that’s the style he pursues.
Tumblr media
When we meet him, this is the subgenre that we see him focusing on. His influences are pretty obvious.
Moreover, the main character (hence the target of affection in his work) looks a bit like his crush. Issei notices this and tries to draw himself like that (with disproportionately thin neck) in little notes and letters to his Mamocchi.
Tumblr media
[I honestly think Nakao Masaki was bit of a miscast for this role appearance-wise because in the manga Issei is more on the gacchiri (muscular) side of ikemen. Whoever thought Torii-san’s uke from Fudanshi Bartender no Tashinami (2022) would be right fit for Issei’s character. The actor clearly didn’t disappoint in any other aspect. This is like the case with casting decision in One Room Angel (2023) wherein a manga character with gachimuchi aesthetics was changed into a lean ikemen. An opportunity for a different body-type was wasted. No complains against those actors since they aren’t the ones responsible for casting.] This is an erroneous assessment. Thank you @tompetertrash for correcting me.
Nekoyashiki, while pursuing training and education in manga making, has already established himself as a fairly successful doujinshika known as Honeniku-sensei of Muscle Department Store. He belongs to the Wall Circle.
"Kabe circle" (wall circle) — a slang term for doujin groups or "circles" that are popular enough for their booths to be placed beside the wall of the convention, for ease of line management. (Source: ANN)
He is friends with Yamada, a fujoshi who is his support in creating, defending and selling doujin.
Such friendships are not too rare. For example, friendship between Yoh and Manju in Taikan Yoho (2023). And the IRL friendship between female danmei author Lan Lin and male manhuajia Liang Azha.
Nekoyashiki meets two other characters at Comic King: Framboise and Takkun.
Tumblr media
Framboise is the president of a doujin circle called Bearded Beauties. He is very popular. He is not only among the wall circles each time we see him, but also is showered with gifts by his fans. He acknowledges that he has been doujinshika for years. His art resembles him – body-type, facial hair, moe. He keeps inviting Nekoyashiki warmly to a gathering of muscle BL artists despite getting turned down. His interactions with Nekoyashiki are precious.
Takkun is Nekoyashiki’s fan. He is inspired by Nekoyashiki and worked hard to establish himself as a wall circle doujinshika.
Tumblr media
His rise from a consumer to producer of doujin and finally a wall circle doujinshika mirror's Nekoyashiki’s journey. Moreover, his rise is contrasted with Nekoyashiki’s fall.
Tumblr media
Also, one of two characters on his doujin cover looks a lot like him.
Tumblr media
Unlike Framboise and Takkun who draw what they like, Nekoyashiki draws to be recognized.
Tumblr media
Nekoyashiki draws a second season to his previous work Please Suck on my Enormous, Manly Tits. Despite Yamada’s best hopes, it is not popular at all and loses Nekoyashiki his position as a wall circle doujinshika. He bids goodbye to Suck My Manly Tits series and to ero-manga sub-genre in general.
In a desperate attempt to climb back into popularity, he tries classic BL pairing. We get to see him reading commercial BL as a part of his research. This is an obvious mistake. Yamada wants to intervene but hesitates and ultimately gives up.
When his next doujin, My Perfect Boss Became My Perfect Spouse, also flops, he loses his resolve to be a mangaka.
Tumblr media
Yamada asks Nekoyashiki to be more honest and expressive in his creation.
Tumblr media
In the end, Nekoyashiki creates a doujin inspired by his own relationship and aspirations – a work that, Framboise and Yamada notices, is to Nekoyashiki’s satisfaction.

It is common for at least some characters by male BL and gei comi mangakas (who have revealed themselves) to look at least a little bit like themselves. To see examples, check out the beginning of Massive: Gay Erotic Manga and the Men Who Make It where representative art and artists are placed side by side. Some even acknowledge this. e.g. Chinese BL manhuajia Liang Azha once commented on how his shou (uke) tend to look like him as he is today and his gong (seme) resemble his looks from his college days. Moreover, art tend to inspire clothing, haircuts, and other features which in turn inspire art. The influence Tom of Finland had on androphilic men of his days and they on him is discussed in his 2017 biopic. Similarly, mangakas are influenced by their senpais in the field and sometimes it is noticeable in their art too. e.g. Gengoroh Tagame’s historical works looks quite a bit like those of Go Mishima.
Other BL doujinshika in Live-action BL
Yoh from Taikan Yoho (2023) creates his first BL doujin, inspired by his ikemen boyfriend and their relationship, in collaboration with his mangaka friend Manju after his career as commercial mangaka of straight ero-manga takes a nose-dive.
BL Metamorphosis (2022) depicted the process of BL doujin creation in detail as the main character, Sayama Urara, embarks on that journey. Her friends offer her support, especially Ichinoi Yuki who funds the printing and binding. Sayama Urara doesn’t debut as doujinshika as she doesn’t set up her booth at the convention. However, one of the copies lands in the hand of one of her favorite authors Komeda Yu whose commercial BL work Kimi no Koto dake Miteitai was what brought Sayama Urara and Ichinoi Yuki together.
Komeda Yu on the other hand is a doujinshika turned commercial BL mangaka. She visits the convention in hopes of overcoming writer’s block and to rediscover her passion for drawing. She is motivated by the doujin that Sayama Urara created and emerges out of slump to continue with her series.
Fudanshi Bartender no Tashinami (2022) revolves around Soichiro Hibiki, a fudanshi bartender moonlighting as a BL doujinshika, who draws inspiration from his customers and fellow bar staff to fuel his passion.
Minamoto Kazuki
While narrative drives home the point that the various pieces of art we see are works of respective doujinshika characters through haircuts and body types, the fact remains that most of those are actual doujin by Minamoto Kazuki aka MELU. He belongs to the circle: GOOD BYE LIFE.

The contract
Young Jackson had always longed to be free, to get a fat belly and to stuff his face. When a handsome stranger offers him just that, he can't refuse. He relizes too late that he might be in over his head though...
Jackson stumbled through his front door, the sounds of the evening still bouncing around in his head like the upbeat college party music he had left behind. The smell of greasy pizza lingered in his clothes, remnants of the night’s indulgence. With each step he took, his thoughts danced between exhilaration and a sense of looming dread—a duality he often felt as he navigated through life as a handsome jock admired by many but secretly haunted by a desire he couldn’t share.
In his dorm, Jackson flicked on his laptop and stared at the glowing screen, his heart racing at the prospect of finally embracing the truth he had concealed for so long. He had always managed to charm his way through life, with his striking brown skin, wild curls, and athletic build. But underneath it all, he harbored a yearning—to be heavy, to let go of societal expectations and indulge in the pleasures of food and body.
After several moments of hesitation, he typed the name of the gainer and feeder website he had long researched but never had the courage to visit. With a few quick clicks, he created an account, and his soul stirred with excitement tinged with trepidation. His fingers flew over the keyboard as he crafted a profile, pouring out his hidden desires, sharing fantasies of luscious meals and the softness of a growing belly. He was almost too eager, waiting for connection, for someone who would understand.
And then, there it was—a message. It was from Malcolm, a user with a profile picture that radiated the essence of confidence and indulgence. He was a well-built man in his forties, clearly successful, and his profile showcased an array of decadent meals, each one glistening with promises of pleasure and satisfaction. Jackson’s pulse quickened as he read Malcolm’s first message, welcoming him to the community and expressing admiration for his boldness.
As they continued to chat, Jackson felt an electrifying thrill. Malcolm was everything he had envisioned—charismatic, knowledgeable, and utterly supportive. They exchanged stories, their exchanges traversing from light-hearted banter to deep discussions about desires, insecurities, and fantasy lifestyles. The allure of Malcolm's wealth and experience captivated Jackson; he could sense the man’s passion for helping others embrace their desires. There was a mutual recognition of kindred spirits.
Weeks passed, and Jackson found himself logging in daily, sharing intimate fantasies and slowly relinquishing his long-held fears. Malcolm encouraged him to explore food and self-love, suggesting meals and treats to indulge in. The thought of buttery pastries and creamy pasta ignited a hunger in Jackson that went beyond the physical. He visualized the warmth of a full belly, the comforting weight of a heavier body, and a freedom from expectations.
It wasn’t long before their conversations evolved from the virtual to the real. Malcolm proposed a weekend getaway to his luxurious estate, an invitation laced with promise and intrigue. Jackson hesitated at first, overwhelmed by both excitement and fear, but the thought of meeting Malcolm in person pushed him beyond his comfort zone. It felt like a leap into the unknown, where he could finally embrace the truth of who he was and shed the facade of the perfect jock.
On the weekend of the escape, Jackson packed a few essentials but left behind the invisible chains of conformity. He arrived at Malcolm’s estate, greeted not just by the richness of the surroundings but by Malcolm himself, who stood there with a warm smile and open arms. The moment felt electric.
As they spent the weekend together immersed in culinary delights—gourmet meals lovingly prepared, relishing every bite—Jackson found an unexpected sense of belonging. For so long, he’d been torn between his identity as a charming athlete and the man he secretly longed to be. In Malcolm’s presence, he felt safe, liberated to explore his desires without shame or judgment.
With each delicious meal they shared, Jackson felt the shift within himself; not just physically, but in his self-acceptance. Malcolm's laughter and gentle encouragement allowed him to slip into his fantasy without reservations. And as they indulged, each bite a celebration, Jackson could feel the weight of his desires taking shape, forging a new identity—a blend of all the selves he had ever been.
~
Jackson sat back in his chair, a satisfied sigh escaping his lips as he patted his stuffed belly, feeling the gentle swell through his fitted shirt. The dining table was a testament to indulgence: empty plates scattered around him held traces of the decadent feast he just demolished, each bite savored and enjoyed. The air still echoed with the rich aromas of garlic butter and savory spices, remnants of the gourmet meal that had delighted him just hours before.
As he wiped his mouth with a napkin, he glanced over at Malcolm. The older man leaned back in his own chair, his eyes sparkling with that familiar mixture of mischief and admiration. There was a glimmer of satisfaction in Malcolm’s gaze as he watched Jackson—a young man transformed by desire, courage, and the promise of a new life.
“Jackson,” Malcolm began, his voice smooth and enticing, “I’ve been thinking about how much you’ve embraced this journey already. You've gained ten pounds in just one month, which is impressive for a start.”
Jackson beamed at the praise, a burst of pride swelling within him. “I can feel it. Everything is tighter, and honestly, I love it.”
Malcolm’s smile widened, and he leaned closer, suspense building around the table like an electric current. “What if I offered you something even better? How would you feel about moving in here indefinitely?”
For a moment, Jackson’s breath caught in his throat. The idea was seductive—waking up in a mansion catered to his newfound desires? A private wing, away from the distractions and expectations of his old life? He felt torn between disbelief and excitement, like a child being offered the most delightful gift.
“No expectations of sex or other demands,” Malcolm continued, seeing the glimmer of intrigue in Jackson’s eyes. “All I ask is that you eat everything I provide. Let me take care of you, and embrace this journey without reservations.”
Jackson felt something shift within him—a thrilling rush that sent shivers down his spine. He was captivated by the idea of total liberation and surrender. Each meal would be a celebration, every indulgence a testament to his evolving identity. Malcolm’s words hung in the air, pregnant with possibility.
“And,” Malcolm added, sliding a plate of sausage rolls toward Jackson, “there’s just one thing—you’ll need to sign a contract. It frees me from any consequences regarding your weight gain. I can encourage you, but ultimately, it’s your choice to indulge.”
Jackson’s eyes widened, not out of fear, but exhilaration. He picked up a sausage roll, its flaky pastry warm against his fingers, and, with eager enthusiasm, he stuffed it into his mouth. The flavors exploded in his mouth, and he closed his eyes, savoring the moment.
As he chewed, Malcolm looked at him intently. “Think about it, Jackson. This can be your new reality.”
The thought of the contract felt liberating, like a personal manifesto declaring that he was finally allowed to pursue the life he secretly craved. The weight of societal expectations seemed to fade away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of freedom. He found himself nodding, mouth full, caught up in the ecstasy of the moment.
“Okay,” he murmured, the words muffled but resolute. “I’ll do it.”
Three days later, Jackson was more than ready to reshape his life. He had taken the leap, transforming his vision into reality. Leaving behind his phone and any reminder of his previous existence felt almost cathartic; it was an act of rebirth. Malcolm had provided him with everything he needed—the essentials and more, tailored to his every whim, from the finest clothes that hugged his expanding figure to gourmet meals that celebrated his insatiable appetite.
As he settled into the private wing of the estate, Jackson felt alive in a way he had never imagined. The lavish surroundings felt like an extension of his desires, a physical representation of the journey he had embraced. With each passing meal, he indulged further, exploring new heights of pleasure and expansion. He would wake up each morning filled not with anxiety, but with eager anticipation for the delicious day ahead.
~
The months passed in a blur of culinary bliss and personal transformation for Jackson. He had fully embraced the fantasies he once dared only to dream about, surrendering completely to the life Malcolm had encouraged him to adopt. Each day felt like a sumptuous feast, a celebration of abundance where indulgence was the norm and restraint was a distant memory.
His mornings began leisurely, the sun filtering through the luxurious drapes of his private wing, casting a warm glow over the plush bed where he would awaken. Before even opening his eyes fully, he could smell the rich, enticing aromas wafting through the air, a promise of the decadent breakfasts Malcolm prepared daily.
As he padded to the dining table, he found Malcolm already waiting with a spread that could make any gourmet chef jealous: waffles dripping with syrup, an array of freshly made pastries, and a mountain of crispy bacon. Malcolm’s eyes sparkled with delight as he watched Jackson devour his breakfast, the young man’s appetite driving Malcolm to create ever more sumptuous meals.
“Eat up, my handsome glutton,” Malcolm would tease, as he affectionately placed more food on Jackson’s plate. With every bite, Jackson could feel the rush of pleasure coursing through him. It was a euphoria he never wanted to end, and the weight gain that trailed behind it felt like a badge of honor, a tangible symbol of his newfound freedom.
Malcolm encouraged Jackson to take it easy, suggesting he should avoid unnecessary movement and conserve his energy for eating. “Why bother lifting weights in the gym when you can lift a fork at a luxury dining table?” he’d quirk, and Jackson couldn’t help but laugh, the comment reverberating in his mind like a siren song. It was so easy to lean into the life of relaxation and indulgence.
As he settled into this rhythm, Jackson’s body began to take on a new shape. The athletic frame that once defined him waned as layers of softness enveloped him. His clothes grew tighter; shirts that once hugged his muscles now clung to the plush girth forming around his belly. Each larger shirt size he had to purchase felt like a small victory, an acknowledgment of the journey he had embarked on, moving from ‘ex-jock’ to ‘chubby’ and then blissfully transforming into the realm of ‘glutton’—a term he had come to embrace with open arms.
When Jackson stepped on the scale one morning and saw the number flash back at him—250 pounds—his heart raced with joy. Just four months had passed since he signed that contract, and in that time, he had gained a full 60 pounds. The thought of becoming even bigger filled him with excitement and anticipation. He could already imagine the way his body would soon swell, the joy of feeling that familiar fullness radiate through him, and the softness in his physique that he had come to crave deeply.
Malcolm noticed the change in Jackson, not only in his appearance but also in his energy. There was a steady, joyful glow about him as his confidence grew. One evening, as Malcolm fed him piece after piece of decadent dessert, he turned to Jackson, a playful smile dancing across his lips. “You realize you’re becoming a true masterpiece, don’t you?”
Jackson blinked, taking a moment to shove a creamy chocolate eclair into his mouth before responding, “I can feel it, and I love it.” He felt weightless despite the heft of his body, more liberated than he had ever been.
Malcolm continued to spoil him, not just with food, but with affection and encouragement. He made Jackson feel seen and adored—a stark contrast to the pressures of being the perfect athlete, which had always hung heavily over him. Each satisfying meal was punctuated by laughter and stories, their bond growing deeper as Jackson transformed right before Malcolm’s eyes.
At night, they would curl up together on the sprawling sofa, Jackson reclining comfortably with his new belly resting in his lap. Malcolm would feed him still—this time snacks and late-night treats—as they watched movies. Each time a morsel passed Jackson's lips, it felt like a tiny celebration of his new life, a reminder of how far he had come.
And in those moments, Jackson realized that this was the life he had been yearning for, a radical departure from the jock persona he had long been trapped in. He was no longer just an image crafted by societal standards; he was becoming a version of himself he adored—decadent, unapologetic, and entirely free to embrace his deepest desires. The thought of growing even larger, of living in a body that was the very embodiment of his fantasies, fueled him with indescribable joy.
~
As Jackson settled into this new way of being, he found comfort in the knowledge that with each day that passed, he was growing—physically and emotionally—into a world where he could belong, love, and thrive. And the realization of his impending transformation into something even greater filled him with an effervescent delight that illuminated his spirit. The future was bright, and it was gloriously full.
It didn't take long before Jackson's life at Malcolm’s estate had evolved into a luxurious, indulgent dream—one that was deliciously intoxicating. Each day felt like a grand buffet, overflowing with delightful flavors and culinary creations, and he had become an expert in gluttony. The sheer pleasure of surrendering to his appetite overwhelmed him, but unbeknownst to him, Malcolm had plans that would elevate his indulgence to a level Jackson had never imagined.
One late afternoon, while Jackson lounged on the sprawling sofa, his belly spilling over his waistband, Malcolm approached with a devious smile. “I have an idea to help you reach new heights of indulgence,” he said, his tone laced with mischief.
Curiosity piqued, Jackson turned toward him, ready to entertain whatever delicious notion Malcolm had in mind. “What do you have in mind?”
Malcolm leaned in closer, his voice low and enticing. “What if I could ensure you consume thousands of extra calories overnight while you sleep? Imagine waking up even fuller, more satisfied, and ready for another day of feasting.”
Jackson blinked, the concept both thrilling and perplexing. “How would that work?”
With a glint in his eye, Malcolm explained the plan: he would mix highly caloric gainer shakes—created from a concoction of high-fat ingredients, sugars, and protein—then feed the shakes to Jackson through a tube during the night. The thought of gaining weight even in his sleep sent a rush of excitement through Jackson, and a grin spread across his face as he considered the possibilities.
“I’m in,” he declared, feeling a primal hunger swell within him.
The first few nights of the gainer shake regimen were an adjustment. Jackson struggled with the sensation of swallowing while unconscious, the process feeling foreign and uncomfortable at first. But each morning, he awoke to find himself fuller than ever, the scale creeping upward as he indulged in his meals during the day, fueling his insatiable appetite.
As the weeks rolled on, Jackson found that swallowing became second nature. His body adapted, the action becoming automatic. With each night of feeding, he welcomed the tide of calories, feeling both exhilarated and out of control. The concept of gaining weight while sleeping was intoxicating—he could indulge in sumptuous feasts throughout the day and layer on additional calories at night as he drifted into dreams of food.
However, the consequences of this new routine came swiftly. Jackson noticed that his clothes felt increasingly constrictive, fabric stretching in defiance of the massive gain. He began to see the telltale signs of his rapid transformation: red stretch marks appeared across his expanding body, stark lines etched into his skin that both frightened and thrilled him. They were visceral reminders of his journey, signals that his body was continuously adapting but struggling to keep pace with his relentless weight gain.
~
Within just a few months of incorporating the gainer shakes, Jackson found himself enamored with the excess and indulgence, yet unease crept into his thoughts. He was now tipping the scales at a staggering 310 pounds, a massive 120-pound increase since moving to Malcolm’s estate just seven months prior. His figure had transformed drastically, flattening muscles yielding to a sea of softness, his former athletic physique now a distant memory.
Jackson's days blurred together, a haze of food, fullness, and the comforting embrace of his growing size. He lounged around the estate in loose clothing, letting the pleasure of each meal wash over him, savoring flavors and textures as he stuffed himself with enormous plates of food. Malcolm seemed to thrive on his progress, showering him with love and encouragement, invigorated by Jackson embracing this new identity.
But as the months went by, Jackson began to feel a nagging sense of worry. Each ounce of weight gained felt like a loss of control over his body. He started noticing the decrease in his mobility; bending over to pick up a stray snack became a Herculean task, and simple actions like standing for too long left him breathless. The joy he once felt with every indulgent meal was now tinged with anxiety.
A moment of clarity dawned on him one evening as he stood in front of a full-length mirror, watching the way his body had transformed. He could hardly recognize himself; he was now a flabby, sweaty fat man, his once-defined features softened to the point of obscurity. The image reflected back was of a man who seemed resigned to a life he did not wholly understand, and the implications of his newfound size loomed heavy in the air.
“How far do you want to go with this?” he whispered to himself, feeling the weight of the question sink in. The question echoed with deeper implications of surrender and self-discovery, blurring the lines between desire and concern.
Jackson found himself deliberating as he sat at the dining room table, a plate piled high with pasta, bread, and an array of desserts in front of him while Malcolm cheered him on. Could he possibly abandon the remnants of the future he once envisioned? A vision of himself as a healthy, active man felt worlds away. In the haze of inviting flavors, he struggled with the awareness that the pace of his transformation was accelerating, and he had a decision to make about the path Malcolm presented.
Malcolm’s encouragement was compelling, but Jackson began to wonder how much of this indulgence was truly what he wanted and how much stemmed from a powerful influence guiding him alongside his own ambitions.
As he lifted a forkful of decadent food to his mouth, that cloud of doubt hovered, a stirring in the depths of his mind.
~
As the days blended into weeks, Jackson found himself grappling with the immense physical changes he had undergone. At over 400 pounds, every task had become a Herculean effort. Simple acts like getting off the couch, tying his shoes, or even walking across the room felt like daunting endeavors. All he seemed capable of was eating, a skill he had perfected to an art form.
One afternoon, after a particularly enormous lunch, Jackson sank into his familiar spot on the couch, a wave of frustration crashing over him. He looked at Malcolm, who was cleaning up the remnants of their meal, and hesitated before voicing the thought that had been haunting him for days. “Malcolm, maybe we should slow down for a bit. I mean… I’m struggling with everything now. I don’t want to get unmanageable.”
Malcolm paused, a sinister smile creeping onto his lips as he turned to face Jackson. “Slow down? Why would you want to do that, my dear Jackson?” His eyes sparkled with mischief, a stark contrast to the warmth he had exuded early on. “You’ve come so far. Besides, aren’t you enjoying this?”
Jackson felt a knot tighten in his stomach as dread settled over him. There was something in Malcolm’s tone that felt off, as if his words masked a deeper truth. “I… I don’t know,” he stammered, unsure of himself. “I just feel… stuck.”
Malcolm’s smile widened. “Stuck is exactly where I want you, my lovely glutton.” He walked over to a drawer in the adjacent cabinet, pulling out a folded piece of paper. “Do you remember the contract you signed?”
Jackson’s heart raced, the sweet memories of his initial excitement fading as anxiety crept in. “Of course, but—”
“The contract,” Malcolm interrupted, holding it up triumphantly, “isn’t just what you think it is. It’s more than just a waiver; you signed your future away, Jackson.”
“What are you talking about?” Jackson’s voice trembled, panic rising within him as Malcolm unfolded the paper, revealing several pages.
“Did you bother to count them?” Malcolm’s voice held a mocking lilt, a sense of triumph that sent chills down Jackson’s spine. “You only looked at the first few, didn’t you? You were so caught up in the fantasy, so eager to sign away your former life, that you neglected to notice the final page.”
Malcolm turned the last page toward Jackson, revealing a set of terms he had not noticed before—crushing stipulations that laid out the irrevocable hold Malcolm had over him. Jackson’s eyes widened in horror as he read the text aloud, disbelief and anger flooding his veins.
“You… you can’t do this,” he stammered. “I didn’t understand. I didn’t know!”
“Oh, but you did. You signed it willingly.” Malcolm’s voice was smooth, yet the underlying pleasure he took in Jackson's discomfort was palpable. “You see, my dear Jackson, you are at my mercy now. I hold dominion over how, when, and why you get to eat.”
Jackson's heart raced as he processed the implications. “You’re saying I can’t leave? I can’t… I can’t contact anyone?” The reality of the situation sank in, and his anger sparked like a fire igniting dry wood. “You tricked me!”
“Tricked is such a harsh word,” Malcolm purred, leaning closer, his presence intimidating. “I merely presented an opportunity—a chance for you to embrace your desires. You wanted this, Jackson. You made the choice.”
It felt like a punch to the gut. The kindness Malcolm had shown, the warm, encouraging words—they had all been a facade, a carefully crafted illusion designed to lead him down this sinful path. “You just want to feed me until I’m a prisoner in my own body! You’re a monster!” Jackson shouted, fervor fueling his voice.
With a disarmingly calm demeanor, Malcolm replied, “Monster? Or perhaps a guide? I’m simply helping you achieve the life you’ve always dreamed of—one filled with delight and endless indulgence. You are lucky to have someone who understands your true potential.”
Jackson’s vision blurred as tears of anger threatened to spill. It felt surreal, like a nightmare he couldn’t wake up from. All the laughter, the affection—it had all been part of a cruel ruse. He had willingly signed his fate away to a villain masquerading as a benefactor.
“Forever,” he said in disbelief, the weight of the word pressing down like lead. “You expect me to live here forever?”
“Of course. You’ll be cared for, fed, and loved, Jackson. I’ll take care of you in ways you never imagined possible.” Malcolm’s voice dripped with insincerity, yet it rang with an eerie sense of authority.
Jackson’s world began to spin as reality sank deeper. All the dreams of a carefree life, of savoring food without guilt—what had seemed like liberation had twisted into shackles that bound him tighter than any physical restraint. His own desire to embrace gluttony had become a weapon against him, wielded by someone who relished his downfall.
“I want out,” he protested weakly, the resolve in him faltering under the weight of the truth.
Malcolm smirked, holding the contract between his fingers like a trophy. “There is no out, Jackson. You belong to me now. And together, we will explore the depths of your new reality until I am satisfied.”
Jackson felt a shiver run through him, anger mingling with defeat. He had gone from an empowered man to a puppet, strung along by someone who reveled in his submission. The thought stirred a rage and sadness deep within him, but it was overshadowed by the daunting reality of what lay ahead.
As he sat on the couch that evening, surrounded by opulence yet trapped by his own choices, Jackson felt the walls closing in. Each plate of food that Malcolm placed before him felt heavier as he considered the sinister implications tied to every bite. The once-exciting prospect of indulgence transformed into a deep pit of despair.
And as he took another mouthful, the betrayal of his own desires echoed in his mind: How could he have signed over his life so willingly, only to find himself caught in a web of gluttony crafted by a man who sought nothing but to see him immobile and utterly reliant? The bittersweet taste of food turned sour in his mouth as he faced the harsh truth of his new existence, forever tangled in the web of a devilishly clever feeder.
~
The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silvery glow around the estate. Jackson stirred from a restless sleep, the oppressive weight of his body a constant reminder of his new reality. He could feel the emptiness in his stomach, persistently grumbling for more of the gainer shake that Malcolm routinely fed him. As the fog of sleep cleared, the realization struck him—he had consumed the shake in his sleep without even being aware of it.
Panic surged within him, a wave of desperation pushing against the walls of his confinement. He needed to escape. The idea became a primal urge, the last flicker of autonomy in a life that had spiraled out of control. With newfound resolve, Jackson swung his legs over the side of the bed, huffing with the effort, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. The once-spacious bed now felt like a cage, and every movement sent jolts of discomfort through his joints.
He steadied himself, gritting his teeth against the pain as he stood. The rush to act fueled his adrenaline, and he took a moment to gather his bearings. This was his only chance. With determination coursing through him, he waddled toward the door, each step an agonizing reminder of the bulk he now carried.
As he hesitated in front of the door, hope bloomed. He placed a sweaty palm against the cool handle and pushed it open, stepping into the cool night air. Jackson's heart raced; he was finally outside! Gulping down a breath of freedom, he set off as quickly as his cumbersome frame would allow, grunting with the effort to move.
But the distance proved deceptive. Each step was a laborious challenge. His body, laden with weight, protested ruthlessly. The hunger gnawed at him, a constant, insatiable companion. As he pressed forward, it felt like the ground below him was trying to swallow him whole, and soon enough, an uncomfortable burning began to flare in his legs.
With every foot he gained, the shadows around him seemed to close in, tightening the grip of fear around his heart. Fragments of his former life flashed in his mind—days spent running and swimming, feeling light and free, and now he was almost completely immobile. He could hear the faint rustle of leaves and the distant calls of night creatures, but his immediate surroundings felt suffocating.
Just when he thought he might actually escape, Jackson’s legs buckled beneath him, overwhelmed by the weight he carried. He collapsed onto the ground with a loud thud, his enormous backside smacking the earth with a resonance that sent shockwaves through his body. Fat quivered and jiggled violently around him, echoing the helplessness coursing through his veins.
A lump rose in his throat as he squeezed his eyes shut, wishing against hope that he could somehow vanish, that the earth might engulf him in this moment of defeat. But the harsh reality brought him back; he had barely made it fifty feet from the huge estate that had become his prison.
And then he heard it—a familiar sound that sent a wave of dread shooting through him. The unmistakable rumble of an engine coming to life. Jackson’s heart raced as he turned his head slightly, catching a glimpse of Malcolm’s car rolling out of the driveway, headlights piercing the darkness.
Malcolm appeared behind the wheel, a sinister smirk stretching across his face. The taunting grin was like salt in the wound, a direct mockery of Jackson's desperate attempt at freedom. With a heavy sigh of resignation, Jackson felt tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. He wanted to cry out, to voice the frustration and anguish that welled up inside him, but all that escaped was a broken noise of defeat.
As the car rolled up next to him, Jackson surrendered, the reality of his situation crashing down hard. He was a sweaty, dirty mess, still in disbelief of how far he had fallen. All the fight he had mustered had crumbled into hopelessness, replaced by an incessant hunger that clawed at him.
Malcolm rolled down the window, his expression gloating as he surveyed Jackson’s unfortunate state. “You really thought you could get away that easily? Such ambition, Jackson,” he taunted, his voice dripping with mockery.
Unable to reply, Jackson just stared at the ground, feeling a mix of shame and bitterness consuming him. The weight of his body pressed down, both physically and mentally, and he felt utterly defeated.
Malcolm clicked open the door, an invitation that felt more like an accusation. “Come on, let’s get you back inside. We wouldn’t want you getting lost now, would we?”
With a heavy heart and an aching body, Jackson dragged himself back into the car, feeling the tightness of his clothes suffocate his spirit even more. He settled into the passenger seat, the leather hot against his sweaty skin. The shame of his failure engulfed him as Malcolm drove slowly back toward the house, the engine’s hum a cruel reminder of the freedom he could no longer access.
Desperation lingered as they rolled to a stop in front of the estate. Jackson couldn’t shake the sense of hopelessness that wrapped itself around him like a shroud. He felt trapped in a cycle he wished to break free from but didn’t know how.
“Don’t worry,” Malcolm said as he turned to Jackson with a disconcertingly kind tone that made Jackson’s skin crawl. “You’ll find your way back to fulfillment soon enough. All it takes is a little patience—the journey is part of the indulgence.”
But all Jackson could feel was the weight of submission bearing down on him, and the echo of his failed escape haunted him as he stepped back into the prison that was supposed to be his sanctuary.
~
Days turned into weeks, and as the cycles of feeding continued unabated, Jackson’s will to fight dwindled to nothing. Each morning, he woke up to the same oppressive reality, layered in layers of flesh that obscured the light around him. The world outside had become a distant memory—a place where movement was effortless and life was active. Now, he barely left the confines of the bed, which had transformed into a cradle for his expansive body.
His arms, once strong and capable, now hung limply at his sides, almost too heavy to lift. The gainer shakes had become his all-consuming focus, the only solace in a life that had narrowed down to the basics: eat and feel full. He would rest his round head on the heavy double chin that rested atop his now enormous chest, a shelf of flesh that jutted out dramatically. His belly surged outward, an immense sack of softness that rendered his legs nearly immobile and the thought of moving them utterly unnecessary.
Malcolm had succeeded completely; Jackson was now nothing more than a pile of flesh, molded into the living testament of his feeder's vision. He had surrendered, entirely consumed by the weight of his choices and the lust for the next shake that awaited him. The once vibrant goals and dreams had eroded into little more than a shallow craving for fullness, the exquisite moment when his stomach felt pleasantly stretched and heavy.
One afternoon, Jackson lay in a languid stupor, his vision hazy as he struggled to focus on the ceiling above, now a distant expanse overshadowed by the mountain of fat weighing down his face. It felt as if everything had closed in around him, and anything beyond the immediate comfort of the shake was foreign. That day, he was surprised to hear footsteps approaching, the soft click of a door drawing his sleepy eyes to the entrance of his room.
To his astonishment, Malcolm entered with a young man in tow—a chubby fellow who bore the vestiges of youth that Jackson once possessed. Instinctively, Jackson's heart sank; he saw in the newcomer a reflection of his former self, the same glimmer of life and hope shining in those wide eyes.
The young man scanned the room, his expression shifting from shock to intrigue as he took in the sight of Jackson, who had transformed from an ambitious man into a formless blob. Jackson could sense the hesitation in the air as the young man stood at that threshold, contemplating the reality that lay before him—one that could soon become his own.
Malcolm, ever the charmer, stepped forward, his voice smooth and enticing as he presented the lure of indulgence and acceptance. “This, my friend, is the life you could embrace. A true surrender to self, and the ultimate pleasure of giving in to your desires. Jackson was once like you, full of ambition and promise. Look at where he is now—a true bearer of fleshly freedom.”
With a widening grin, Malcolm drew a completed contract from his pocket, brightly displaying it as if it were a golden ticket. Jackson's heart raced as he watched the young man’s expression transform. Jackson's pulse quickened, desperate to speak, but all he could muster was a barely audible whimper. Words of warning lodged in his throat; he wanted to tell this young man to run, to reject this fate that had ensnared him. But the heat of hunger still burned within him, and all Jackson could think of was the next shake and the satisfying fullness it would bring.
After watching Malcolm’s calculated persuasion unfold, Jackson felt a single tear escape his eye as he conceded to the inevitable. The last flicker of hesitation evaporated from the young man's face, and with a graceful sign, he committed to the same dark path that had sealed Jackson's own fate.
The moment was haunting, a painful recognition that this young man was embarking on his own futile fight against desires that would only serve to entrap him. Jackson's tear fell onto the plush covers, a silent testament to the loss of potential, a life sacrificed at the altar of gluttony.
As Malcolm turned back to the young man, watching the excitement and anticipation flood his face, Jackson couldn’t help but feel that familiar weight pressing down harder, not merely from the flesh but from the crushing realization that he was trapped—now not just by his own choices but by the choices of another unwillingly ushered into the void.
In that moment, within the confines of his tiny, fat-laden world, Jackson understood the profound sorrow of surrender more than ever before. Every shake would fill him, every meal would expand him, but the price—the unfathomable price—was a life forever engulfed in the shadows of insatiable hunger and the haunting presence of Malcolm’s cruel, captivating embrace.

A venture fund and a real estate startup – both with links to far-right organizations – are promoting a residential development in rural Kentucky as a haven for fellow rightwingers.
The promoters have presented the planned development as an “aligned community” for right wingers who want to “disappear from the cultural insanity of the broader country” and “spearhead the revival of the region”.
...
The development was announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, and in a special edition of the New Founding by Joshua Abbotoy, who is managing director of venture fund New Founding and principal of real estate developer Kentucky Ridge Runner LLC according to company records.
...
Kentucky Ridgerunner, meanwhile, is an LLC founded in 2022 with Abbotoy at its head according to Kentucky company records. It is the main vehicle for HRP, and owns the bulk of the land which is up for sale to buyers with rightwing sympathies.
Abbotoy’s father, Mark, a real estate appraiser based in Hartsville, Tennessee, is named as managing partner on the Ridgerunner website, and Lazar Lazarovski, a Nashville-based tech entrepreneur and realtor, is marketing director.
The website currently advertises two developments in the vicinity of Burkesville, a town in the so-called Eastern Pennyroyal district of southern Kentucky, around 20 miles north of the Tennessee border.
One of the developments, christened “Longhollow Acres”, is described as “a rolling 550-acre farm situated six miles northeast of Burkesville, and about half a mile to the river”. [...]

I spent 6 grueling hours researching how to protect one's photos/scans so you wouldn't have to--And these are my findings:
As the title states, I spent 6 grueling hours researching how to protect one's photos/scans in case other collectors want to protect and/or receive credit for their photos.
Once more let me emphasize THEIR PHOTOS.
Backstory:
It's not a secret that I'm quite a big collector of official Spy x Family merchandise, specifically clear file folders, stationery, and acrylic stands. I own so much, in fact, I have a tendency to own a handful of duplicates and had the crazy idea to start a small business selling these duplicates via Ko-Fi. A thought came to me that since I had already invested in a light box and a scanner for selling my merch, why not also use them to share pictures of my collection for other fans to view and appreciate?
And that was when I had sought the opinions from my good friend, @yumeka-sxf. Yumeka has been kindly posting high-resolution scans of her SxF merch (clear files, pages, etc.) on Tumblr. She is someone I also deemed as an expert when it came to uploading merch on the internet. She gave me incredible advice with awesome foresight when it came to watermarking high-resolution pictures and scans. She easily predicted what disrespectful people would do if I hadn't moved my watermarks to certain (albeit not really appealing) spots. And, just like she said, someone did attempt to remove my watermark using AI. You can read about it here. @yumeka-sxf also provided her own insight to watermarking merch here--if ya'll are interested to read.
I won't go into too much detail, but essentially they're long posts meant to educate people on why fans, who own the official merch, put watermarks on their pictures. The bottom line is, we're claiming the picture for ownership, NOT the merch.
Second, did you know that people have found ways to remove watermarks?
Tumblr media
That gives me enough incentive as to why I want to take it a step further to protect my photos/scans.
"If I take a picture of something do I own the picture that I took?":
Yes and no. Yes as in, the picture is yours. No, because depending on your subject, it falls under numerous jurisdictions of copyright. You can find all the details in this insightful post from veteran photographers.
But since we're focusing on the topic of photos and scans of merchandise, I'd like to provide these screenshots:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so, to re-iterate, the only thing you'll get out of copyrighting your photo is just the right to the photo--which is all I want.
The Findings:
6 grueling hours of research for protecting one's picture led me to several insightful directions--one of them amusingly brought me down a rabbit hole of how to protect one's real estate pictures. They did have some wonderful tips if you guys would like to read them!
Unfortunately, I do not own Photoshop so I could not make any edits on the metadata or create a layer that will prevent downloading the content of the picture. Preventing screenshots/right-clicking is limited to control on a website and/or can easily be canceled by plug-ins. So that just leaves me with finding something creative solutions the only tool I have: Canva (more on this later).
I spent some more time reading more journals and visited USCO (United States Copyright Office) and, finally, Pixsy.
I'm gonna be honest, USCO is THE BEST way to protect your media (merchandise, art, etc.) IF you have the money to support it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only do I not have the funding for this type of service, but my photos don't exactly meet "originality" especially when the subject of the photo is copyright-protected merchandise, which means there are severe punishments for those who pursue any commercial purposes (such as selling my photos to make money rather than directing people to purchase the official work from the licensing site). And at the end of the day, I just care about the photo, itself, and receiving credit and source.
It's ridiculously simple to just credit and source a picture, and yet, it'll surprise you how many people just can't do that. This is why, I must take these extra precautions to ensure credit and sourcing.
So, I opted for Pixsy for its free plan that includes 500 images being monitored.
Tumblr media
There's no doubt that I'll most likely invest in a monthly subscription if ever I amass beyond 500 pictures for monitoring.
Currently, it has already done an impressive job of identifying pictures I've posted with my watermarks on Ko-Fi, Twitter, and Tumblr. It has even identified reblogs/retweets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For some odd reason, it uploads my pictures horizontally when it's normally vertical ^^; but it still gets the job done. Interestingly, it hasn't picked up my pictures from Mercari yet. I assume that if I were to upgrade to the subscription plan, Pixsy might be able to find it by then.
Procedures:
I'm sharing my procedures for protecting one's photo (and content, if applicable of course).
Step 1: Register on Pixsy. As I've addressed earlier, it's free.
Step 2: Upload HIGH-RESOLUTION pictures (no watermark) to Pixsy's database. This is probably the most accurate way for Pixsy to identify pictures of the same (or similar) "blueprint". In the picture below, I provided a screenshot of my picture without the watermark (left) with a picture they found of my picture with my watermark on it from my ko-fi shop (right).
Tumblr media
Step 3: If you plan to upload a photo/scan with or without watermark, it is recommended to upload your image at 550 pixel image and at 72 dpi. This makes it good for the internet (see first image below). But once you zoom in, you can tell the difference in quality (see second image below).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mentioned before that I don't have photoshop, so I experimented with what I do have: Canva.
Since I have a premium membership (indicated by crown icons), I just use the following settings:
Tumblr media
and it gets the job done.
I am planning to upload my photos without watermarks to the Spy x Family wiki quite soon, so I did all this research to prepare for possible theft and/or the lack of crediting and sourcing--just in case. A friend of mine told me that s/he can try to ensure crediting through the file name, which is a ridiculously kind gesture, but I'm not ignorant of people who change/completely ignore file names. That's unfortunately just the way it is on the internet.
Tumblr media
Hopefully, I've curated enough research to help protect photos/scans from possible theft (if reposting is not allowed by the owner).
I don't mind if my photos are used for reference AS LONG AS they credit me and link the source directly to the image itself (not one of those cut-corner kind of way and just link my Ko-Fi gallery). I won't tolerate laziness when it comes to sourcing considering I invested a lot of money to purchase merch and invested hours--even days--to get the best photo/scan + researched information on the merch for public access.

How can I get the news of my property sale easily to people through digital media?
To effectively spread the news of your property sale through digital media, you can follow these strategies:
Real Estate Websites and Platforms:
List your property on popular real estate websites such as Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin, and Trulia. These platforms have a large audience and specific tools to highlight property details.
Social Media:
Facebook: Post on your personal profile, local community groups, and real estate groups. Use Facebook Marketplace to list the property for sale. Instagram: Share high-quality photos and videos using stories, posts, and reels. Use relevant hashtags like #HouseForSale, #RealEstate, and #YourCityName. Twitter: Share concise updates with links to your property listing. Use appropriate hashtags and tag relevant local real estate accounts. LinkedIn: Post on your profile and in relevant professional groups. Online Advertising:
Google Ads: Create targeted ads that appear to people searching for properties in your area. Facebook and Instagram Ads: Use the advertising tools to target potential buyers based on demographics, interests, and location.
Email Marketing:
Create an email campaign to send to your contacts, especially those who might be interested or know someone who is. Consider using email marketing services like Mailchimp or Constant Contact to reach a broader audience.
Virtual Tours:
Create a virtual tour using tools like Matterport or a simple video walkthrough. Share the tour on real estate websites, social media, and YouTube.
Real Estate Blogs and Forums:
Write a blog post about your property and share it on real estate blogs or forums like BiggerPockets. Engage in discussions and share your listing in a non-spammy manner.
Local Online Communities:
Post in local online communities, forums, and websites such as Nextdoor and Craigslist. Engage with local influencers or bloggers who might share your property listing with their followers.
Content Marketing:
Create content around your property, such as articles or videos about the neighborhood, local amenities, and the unique features of your property. Share this content across your social media channels and real estate platforms.
Collaborate with Real Estate Agents:
Even if you prefer to sell by owner, collaborating with real estate agents can give your property more visibility. They can share your listing with their network and on their digital platforms.
SEO Optimization:
Ensure that any property listing or blog post is optimized for search engines. Use keywords that potential buyers might search for, such as “house for sale in [Your City]”.
By leveraging these digital media strategies, you can reach a wide audience and increase the chances of selling your property quickly.

I read you post about webnovel and how they make money off of fanficiton? Isnt that very fucking illegial due to copyright from the creators of the characters used in fanficitons?? Idk im nust more highly concerned that companies or what not could potentially find out leading to another fanfic legal battle or some shit that’ll bite back the fanfic creators yet leaving webnovel itself unharmed…
Hey there Anon. Thanks for the ask.
I think if you were to ask Webnovel, they would say that they are absolutely not trying to get people to monetize fan fiction on their site. They want original fiction only. Because yes, while there are a lot of nuances, making money from fan fiction is one thing that points to a work being a violation of copyright law. And certainly, if you were to ask Webnovel, they would tell you that they absolutely don't mean to do that.
BUT that stance is completely undermined when they try to recruit people *on AO3, the non-profit fan fiction website.* And not only are they recruiting writers from AO3 (and ffn and wattpad, according to the notes on that post) but they're strongly fucking implying that they want fan fiction! Some folks have left replies and reblogs on my post saying that they've seen fan fiction on Webnovel.
I am incredibly fortunate that @lymmea put this thorough and correct breakdown in the replies of that post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some people in the notes of the post are focusing on the fact that the first part of the TOS that I highlighted is pretty standard for platforms that host user content. I appreciate that clarification. As I said (probably not explicitly enough) this isn't my area of practice (I mostly do small business contracts, real estate stuff, and environmental stuff) and I didn't take the time to compare this TOS to others. But I think it's important for people to understand that when they put their content on a site they are granting that site a license to the content. To me, there's a really big difference between granting that license to a non-profit site like AO3, or a social media site like tumblr, and a site that is created with the intention of selling people the right to read your writing.
The reason I wrote the post was that I *regularly* see people on tumblr upset about AO3's no monetization policy. These people are ripe targets for Webnovel to exploit, either for free or for ridiculously low pay with horrendous contract terms (there's more information in the notes of that post about how some people can get paid by them, but it's still a scam).
As to the part of your question about a fan fic legal battle, it's not impossible. If someone puts fan fiction on Webnovel and Disney sues, like lymmea says, Webnovel would try to blame the writer and could easily be successful. Probably it would get resolved with the work being taken down, but the party hit the hardest would be writer, who likely had no idea they did anything wrong. And that's also why I wrote the post.
Thanks for the ask, Anon. I hope this sheds some additional light.
