#Crazy Ex Girlfriend spoilers

Spoilers for the last season of crazy ex girlfriend but making Valencia bisexual was a stroke of genius

She starts off as one of those women who pretty much hates other women and sees them as competition and feels like she has to 'win' at stereotypical feminine traits like being the prettiest and having male attention

And then she gets to have an arc where she develops a romantic relationship with another woman and unpacks her internalized misogyny and grows as a person

Valencia's final romance is very much a side story to the main plot at the end of the show, but I love that they cared enough about her character to give her as much growth as she got

Fitting with the show's main themes, Valencia was never a villain, she was heavily flawed, she made bad choices that hurt herself and others, but she was capable of changing, and she deserved to be happy too

I will forever be upset that Valencia didn't have more of a reaction when Rebecca made out with her. Like, sure, at first she screamed at her and asked her if she was crazy or stupid and she legit said "this is why I can't be friends with women, why does everyone want to have sex with me?!". That's a reasonable reaction.

But, immediately after that, she completely forgets about it and goes back to being the jealous overprotective girlfriend with Josh. Like, I don't know, I'd probably be more upset at the fact that she stuck her tongue down my throat without my consent than her trying to get with my boyfriend. Like, I think that's a bigger deal.

And later we find out that Valencia is sapphic (I personally believe she is bisexual but the show never says exactly what she is so let's say sapphic). And I believe we had a missed opportunity for the kiss with Rebecca to have been her awakening, ya know?

But even if she was straight, it's kinda fucked that Rebecca just made out with her like that and I feel like that's an action that should have consequences.

(also Rebecca is bi too. between Valencia and Audra Levine and her going to a strip club in episode 1, I feel like that's obvious)

Finally made it to the last season of crazy ex girlfriend on Netflix (it has taken me a while to watch this show so I'm late to the party), and the tiredness from starting an antidepressant scenes were very relatable

*SPOILERS FOR CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND! SERIOUSLY GO WATCH IT!!!*

Just watched the ending of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and it was a masterpiece. The best scene in the finale was when we find out that all of the songs in the show were in the MC’s (Rebecca’s) head. Rebecca—because of her best friend Paula—realized she could write the songs in her head, and perform them.

The scene where Rebecca and Paula are in Rebecca’s head subverts the entire notion of music in media; the music was tricking us into thinking it was something every character could interact with.

This last scene didn’t break the fourth wall; it merely poked holes through it; letting the sunlight in. These songs weren’t really happening, but they weren’t fake. It’s as if Rebecca was performing for an audience she didn’t know she had.

I knew I had to draw this as soon as I heard Ken said he didn't know who he was without Barbie and my first thought was Rebecca saying she didn't know who she was without Josh and Greg back in season 2. I really think she's got the range. She starts out as a super successful lawyer, the main character, and a girlboss, but she defines herself through her relationship to Josh, feeling like she'll never be complete without romance, and starts doing messed up stuff to get his attention, before she gains the resolve to be okay on her own. So I think you can tell Barbie made me think a lot about Crazy Ex Girlfriend again, haha.

but genuinely you can’t be doing the whole ‘oooooh two divorcees looking for emotional connection after heartbreak!’ and ‘I believe in romcommunism’ and ‘is it Ted that Rebecca is texting on banter???’ and ‘watch as they grow independence and self love but constantly with the feeling they’re intertwined in some lovely, chosen way’ just to go ‘actually they never get to together and Ted fucks off back home to the place that is now shaped by not great memories’. The fuck??? I’m bisexual, I was so there for the deeply unlikely TedTrent but I always thought TedBecca would happen because it makes more narrative sense. For two whole seasons they orbited around each other with this impending sense of collision, this hope they could find love in the strangest of conditions, in a stranger they’d never have chosen, only for that to be completely ignored??? This isn’t about ooooh heterosexual couple didn’t kiss (I will die on the bi4bi or at least Bi Ted hill fuck you) it’s about the fact that now, tons of moments are stupid as fuck! You played that with a hint of romance! You played that like something was going to happen! You wouldn’t shut up about Rebecca’s love life and Ted’s need to let go and have somebody else handle it all for him, they seemed made for each other from the start and you went ‘nah fuck it’????? WHAT IS THIS????

ok, so i actually had to take a little break from this show cause i realized i watched s3 too fast (in like two days...) & i just don't want to say goodbye yet... if that makes sense? 🥺

i am currently on ep 5 & i only watch one episode once in a while. it's really good so far but like i said, i'm trying to control myself cause i'm just not ready for it to end! i know there are other shows to fill the void, but it's never easy so i'm just taking my time!
