so i had a nightmare

so i decided on my birthday to add on to my patience blanket im gonna do EMBROIDERY!

I wwas so shy to try any of their projects back when i joined their group but now no thanks to that fear nightmare i can at least try. Andd gives me an excuse to empty the floss jar....Yes i have a floss jar..

Right, that reminds me

I'm on sleeve #2 already!

You can see that the first minty section on the sleeve #1 was where I spliced 2 skeins

And the sleeve ended in yellow... Which I initially didn't care about and just went on to use the rest of the skein. And I knit more than 20 rows before taking a look at my other 2 skeins and seeing one that STARTED IN BLUE (from the centre pull)

So I unraveled the back half-row and the amount of sleeve that I had. And it. Looks. PERFECT!! And I'd even say the mint band is starting at about the same height! :0

(also look at it - when this skein is over, the half-skein left from the first sleeve will continue it perfectly!!! Neat, right??) (yes I caked the half-skein because that was the best way to deal with the unruly ramen left after the unraveling of the bit of sleeve I had)

Downside: so far it's been slow going, probably because I've been needing NO THOUGHTS ALLOWED time, but knitting leaves head too free to not think, so I've been experiencing. The Horrors while trying to knit. Oh well, nothing special, so here's to next week being better

I'm definitely awfully European in terms of yarn thicknesses

I need to pause videos and check out the labels when people show yarn and say "it's DK" or "it's worsted", to see how many metres and grams are in the skein. Maybe calculate a bit if there is only yardage per ounce (iirc a yard is about 0.92m and an ounce is ~30g). And fully "alright then, keep your secrets" if those are not visible

And Ravelry is just "just wind the yarn around a ruler and count coils per inch :)" in the yarn thickness blurb

Which is another round of "okay then, keep your secrets", honestly

I think I'll be referring to this table, tbh, because. Even if there seems to be a great deal of spread in what each thickness is, at least it gives the range

I never understood how people say sewing is easy and you can sew anything because it's just so simple...

Deshan's hair throughout the main story to Trepasser went through a lot. In Haven, their hair was braids with wooden beads to symbolize their achievements and family (I hc that Clan Lavellan use beads in hair to tell a person's story/achievements). Then when named Inquistor, to symbolize their identity death, they cut it short (as seen below).

They kept it short because of their forced upon duty, this was a sign of them accepting their death as Deshan as well as their new beginnings of the Inquistor. Only after Trepasser did they let their hair grew out. I mean, they disbanded the Inquistion, therefore they, as the inquistor, had died. Now all that is left is someone reeling from three years of stress and trauma as well as repressed emotions.

In Dreadwolf, if the Inquistor is shown, then their hair would still be grown up with braids thrown in to symbolize their friends as well as their clan/family (even if they feel like they could never come back to them due to their vallaslin removal).
