The Discovery of a Kindred Spirit (Wattpad | Ao3)

March 23, 1847

Logically, Choctaw knew he was not alone in his suffering. There were thousands of other indigenous peoples in this land, from his family to his enemies, all of whom had been experiencing the disease, discrimination, and violence brought over by the new personifications from across the sea. 

Choctaw thought they were all the same kind of people, people who took what was not theirs. They could never have enough because they were still young and feared death. They were people who saw anything that wasn’t them as different and wrong.

They made far too many assumptions. It would probably get them killed.

It was not that Choctaw was claiming to be a perfect man. He knew he had done great wrongs before, and he wasn’t free from making assumptions either.

After all, he presumed all Europeans were like France and England.

He didn’t realize that one of them had been going through the same struggles he had.

Ireland was not an unfamiliar name to him. He had heard of him before, someone who was part of England’s empire. Someone who he presumed supported what England was doing, that he was a loyal and willing member of a plague on the world. After all, he had seen many people who claimed Irish blood hurt him and his people, including the bastard who forced him off his land, Andrew Jackson.

But what he was hearing now painted a different story. A story that reflected his own.

A story of an indigenous personification who was colonized by an English-speaking white Christian who couldn't care less about what you went through, who just wanted you gone and replaced with more of his people. A person who thought your very existence was a crime and saw the deaths of your people as a good thing.

A person who wanted your culture gone and for you to fade away as your people become theirs. A person who, even if they didn’t say it, even if they denied it, was wishing for your death.

Ireland’s story wasn't like England’s. It was like his own.

“We are providing aid,” Choctaw said as he approached William Armstrong, the man collecting the donations to help relieve Ireland’s suffering. A kind of suffering that Choctaw most certainly could say was worse than anyone thought. After all, no one ever seemed to think the pain he went through on that Trail of Death was as bad as he said. Although no white people ever seemed to believe what he said.

“I know we don’t have a lot…but—”

William cut Choctaw off, smiling, “I’m glad that the Christian faith remains strong in you Indians.”

“I’m not doing this because some of my people follow your faith. I’m doing this because it is the right thing to do, and aid is something that I wished I had when I was forced onto this territory when your president made me leave my home despite the treaties I had with America and your court telling your president not to.” Choctaw responded, his voice even as he made eye contact with William, who looked less happy.

He probably wanted Choctaw to claim that it was Christianity and the lessons from it that made him want to help, as no one ever seemed to think that he had kindness before the people who invaded his land and killed his people taught him and his people about their religion. They never seem to understand that it had always been a part of his culture to be generous. Even if his people were warriors, they were also kind and generous souls.

You didn’t have to be Christian to be that.

“I don’t think we need to discuss prior issues right now. You did say you were going to help, right? Why don’t I collect your people’s donations so we can both be on our way and not start silly arguments?” William said, almost talking down to me like Choctaw wasn’t centuries old.

Humans. Whether they were his people or not, Choctaw don’t think he would ever understand them.

Then again, he’s sure they felt the same about him and his kind. Although the humans from Europe always seemed to revere their countryhumans more than anyone Choctaw had ever met here, it was an odd phenomenon.

Suppressing his urge to lecture William, Choctaw passed over my people’s donation. It wasn’t a lot, barely a hundred seventy dollars, but it was all they could spare. He hoped that even with the small amount, it would be able to help Ireland if it was just a little.

A little bit of help is better than nothing, and doing nothing about what was happening to Ireland, after all, Choctaw has seen and been through…

Choctaw doesn’t think he would have been able to accept or forgive himself if he did that.

I just have a little small backstory of how Russia and America met in my high school au (which contains RusAme, be aware of everyone) and I want it to write it here. I’ll also write it on wattpad, but it will take me a long time so later.

For now I will leave pieces of it. So let’s start

USA never liked schools. He was pretty sociable to gain friends in there and was also sociable enough to gain rivals. What he didn’t liked were some teachers, sometimes boring classes and more. He only liked it for his friends, but now he lost those friends, as he’s going to new middle school with his little brother.

He was told new things about it, people awaiting him there, the teachers and more. Not much, but decent. He was told there will be countryhumans like them, disguised as humans. He wonder who will they be.

As he entered the school, the first thing he noticed was how loud it was. Typical schools, where teenagers spent their daily time. His and his brother’s first lesson was P.E, where they will meet their new classmates, a.k.a new countryhumans like them

P.E was on the second floor. While walking towards there, Canada was talking about different things and how excited he was to meet everyone. Canada was only on one year younger than USA, yet, they were still counted as twins, Irish twins. They were still in the same class with each other.

Last things they had to do, was to change in their clothes and meet their classmates and P.E teacher. That should be easy, right ?

Surprisingly there was no one in changing room, so both of them changed into sport clothes, which were typical shorts and shirt.

Now it was time. Both of them entered the “P.E room”. The first people USA noticed was blonde guy, black-haired guy and a black-haired girl. Boys were talking to each other, while in between the girl was looking at them with a worried face

Wouldn’t it be bad to interact with them and make up friends ? He came over to his new classmates and said a common “hi” waving to them. They immediately payed attention to him.

He looked more at them for awhile before they spoke, analysing them. First guy was pretty tall and as said he had blonde hair, they were also wavy and middle length. He had electric blue eyes and pretty long eyelashes. He had visible freckles on his cheeks and nose. USA wasn’t the best at guessing People’s nationality from looks, but he seemed to be Slavic ?

The girl between the two guys was short compared to USA at least, she had black straw ugh that hair. She was wearing glasses, due to bad vision or accessory by any chance ? She had dark brown eyes. She was from Europe, hopefully

The second guy was definitely from Asia, as USA guessed by the way his face looked. He was also wearing glasses and had straight middle length hair. His eyes were just black. He’s either Korean or Japanese, as USA can’t tell between the two.

“You’re new ?” The girl said, smiling at him immediately. Okay, maybe he’ll definitely make friends with her, she already seems nice to him. But who knows. USA answered with a yes and then she asked him if he was a countryhuman. He again said yes and the girl gasped.

“I’m Germany, but you can call me by my human name, Juliana !” The girl answered, smiling at him with her teeth now. She also had a tooth gap, how interesting.

“The brunette boy is Japan or Aoi and the blonde boy is Russia or Alexander” the girl said, adding. So he was right. He has never in his life met a Russian. He maybe met a Japanese or a German one time, but has never seen a Russian. So that’s very interesting for him.

Russia smiled at usa and asked “ what’s your name ?” With that USA replied “USA, Jackson” saying both his of names.

Through time, USA realised what he didn’t expected for Russia to be exactly like this. Other people always told him, what Russians are grumpy, always angry, they never laugh and etc.

Russia was a great guy to be honest, he was quite energetic, a troublemaker to say and a dumbass to be honest. Usa also found out what Russia and Japan were sort of enemies. They were always fighting at who is better at Basketball for example and ended up telling each other “good job” adding either dude or bro. Germany was the one, who was trying keeping them away from fighting with each other over a sport.

And later four of them made up friends. We can’t forget about Canada, who also ended up making friends. One of his closest became Ukraine, the same age as him boy.

He knows, what soon him and his brother will change schools, like a tradition. And he wonders

Will they all meet up again ?

See Russia as a good friendly guy, because no wonder why he even managed to become friends Japan, even if they have a little rivalry going with each other sometimes.

USA is also friendly, because as you can see he made friends with the trio. But he’s kinda less energetic then Russia

Another note: USA is brunette. I honestly can’t see him as blonde, only as a brown haired guy. Canada also has strawberry blonde hair and Ukraine has black hair.

Becoming a Satellite:

Hungary is about to become a satellite state. Shame he doesn’t know what it entails.

Hungary knew the consequences would be dire if he lost the Hungarian Revolution. He still fights them regardless.

The Satellite Inspection:

Soviet likes inspecting his satellites to make sure they are turning out like he wants them too. Sometimes, they aren’t. That’s when things get bad for them.

It was a peaceful Good Friday in 1964, and Alaska was enjoying his afternoon in Anchorage. Then he got hit by an earthquake.

Philippines has not been having a fun time in the 20th century, as his mind is ripped away from him again and again. But finally, his mind is freed and he can begin to heal.

Hello, and welcome to our Countryhuman’s Ask Blog! This blog is one in which the mods (and there are eight of us) each have certain characters who we will write and draw for, meaning that asks geared towards certain characters will also be geared towards certain mods! The vague plot is that the characters all live together in one big house and just sort of vibe... This isn’t supposed to get too serious, y’know! 

Below the cut are everyone’s intros! Make sure to read them, because we all worked hard to get this blog up and running and we would like to be able to meet you all! The nicknames come from our Discord server, by the way, in case you were wondering about the oddity.

Estonia is very chaotic,, shorts in the snow, crocs with socks... you know that guy I’m talking about. The “It’s not even that cold” guy,, him. (The poison. The poison for kuzco. My Lithuania... is a bit of a bitch, plain and simple, but it’s kinda valid, since he is Very Old. My UAE is a difficult bow to unravel- He’s very bigoted towards anything LGBT+, but Something happens to change that :). My China is non-binary and like 4000 years old... He’ll fuck anything that moves if he can convince it into bed, but he is also very formal and polite when he wants to be. My Native America is actually just the northern half, and she is... chaotic, to say the least. My Russia? Himbo. That’s all I need to say. He’s the very definition of a himbo. Look up himbo in the dictionary and it’s just a page full of pictures of Russia.

I'll be doing Russian Empire and The Soviet Union, R.E has much inner homophobia, and Sov tries (and fails) to be badass. You cant run from being fluffy. Hehejehehhehe Mod Void here! I’m your local otaku who knows absolutely almost nothing about the outside world, and is also Canasain. I draw a lot, and if you want to check out my underdeveloped and only just started ‘art’ blog, it’s @bluevoid27 . As stated in the description, She/Her pronouns! I’m also in charge of these beans: Antarctica, Greenland, Canada, Philippines, and Martial. My take on these characters may be a bit different from the most popular versions. Antarctica is still bean, but is presumably hiding a less pure version. Greenland is well, kind of overprotective of Antarctica, but is still a nice child who’s also NB. Canada is probably the one who’s been altered the most, let me tell ya, in Canada, we aren’t as nice as the stereotypes, so this version is a bit more reckless, still loves syrup, and has some sort of trouble showing he’s sorry (wow what a surprise!). Philippines is your classic Pinoy, karaoke master, hopeless jokester, and just a carefree dude in general. Martial is your angry Pinoy, with threats like “Gusto mo palo?” while holding up a sandal. He still resembles somewhat of his brother, but is way more aggressive and rough on the edges. Salutations, I’m Moderator Discord (no, not MLP, but the actual Apphuman)! As stated in the description, my pronouns are they/them/she/her (although I prefer they/them the majority of the time). I know way too many memes and vines for my own good, and I also have rather unusual headcanons! My account is @statehumans-maryland in case you have any personal questions, and the Countryhumans I will be doing are East Germany, South Korea, and Poland! • East Germany is a soft boi who loves his sister, West Germany, and h̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶b̶i̶g̶ ̶f̶a̶t̶ ̶c̶r̶u̶s̶h̶ ̶o̶n̶ likes his best friend, Poland! He is basically one of the most innocent and wholesome people you will find on this planet — plus, he’s a farmer’s boy, so that’s neat! • South Korea is someone who is rather worn down from the shenanigans with his brother (North Korea) causing all sorts of trouble and not exactly having the relationship with him, but he’s overall a very cheerful person (though he does well at concealing his inner turmoil) who is generally friendly with others and more than willing to take responsibility for his brother’s actions, as well as deal with the consequences for such actions (even though it’s very unjustified and unnecessary). He also has a polyamorous relationship with Martial Law and Japan. • Poland is the epitome of a gentleman and will never hesitate to correct himself should he make the slightest of what he perceives as “mistakes” in his mannerisms (though he’s very slowly slipping out of it because c’mon, this is 2020, ain’t nobody got time for formalities). Overall, he is a very good friend to have, has a fair bit of anxiety, and h̶a̶s̶ ̶d̶e̶e̶p̶ ̶f̶e̶e̶l̶i̶n̶g̶s̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶b̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ is very close friends with East Germany.

Geiléis talks about Northern Ireland

I was talking about this the other day to a friend of mine but why not share some of it here?

Northern Ireland is a fun guy to write honestly, because he is different from Ireland and Britain in many ways. He wants to be known as his own person and not a reflection of what Ireland and Britain are or were. Which also plays in part of how he doesn’t want people to know that Ireland and Britain are his parents! He despises that they are his parents.

Northern Ireland just in general doesn’t take shit from people. He refused to stay with Britain in his house in 1921-1922 and lived with one of the the six counties that were now in his land.

That’s all! Now I shall continue to write my N.I headcanons.
