Sedona AZ Cost of Living: What You Need to Know Before Moving

Beyond the Red Rocks: Understanding Sedona, AZ Cost of Living
With its picturesque landscape of red rock formations and extraordinary climatic conditions throughout the year, it is not surprising that Sedona is an appealing place to visit in Arizona. If you are considering relocating to this beautiful place, first, get to to know why the Sedona AZ cost of living is essential.
It involves determining costs related to housing, food, transportation, and medical care. Thus, by analyzing these factors, people can establish whether Sedona has adequate resources per capita and whether the people in Sedona have preferred lifestyles.
Overview of Sedona's Cost of Living
The factors contributing to the cost of living in Sedona, AZ, are the tourist attraction center and geographical inaccessibility. Therefore, it can be deduced that the cost of living in Sedona is comparatively higher than in other parts of Arizona or even the national mean.
To get a clearer picture of how financially prepared one must be to reside in Sedona, the following are the significant living costs in the area:
Housing Costs
Shelter and food are among the most expensive necessities anyone must pay for. The former is usually the biggest in any city, and Sedona is no different. However, the availability of houses to buy has changed, and prices have increased, making this city among the most costly cities in Arizona to afford housing.
Home Prices: The average house in Sedona is about $700,000, which is relatively above the $350,000 for the whole of America. The city's position and scarcity of land have led to high costs, and many people are snapping up homes in serene areas.
Renting: For those who may not be in a position to own a house, there is the option of leasing, though this is not cheap either. The usual monthly price for a one-bedroom apartment is $1,500 and for a two-bedroom apartment, $2,000. These rates are also above those for the state of N.H. and the nation.
Property Taxes: Taxes, primarily property taxes, are well bearable in Sedona compared to other parts of the United States. The average effective property tax in Arizona is 0. It was 62% on average, and Sedona's rates also fall under the same bracket.
Utility Costs
The utilities are typically in line with most cities, though they can be slightly higher depending on the month. This further indicates that the climate here is relatively moderate and does not warrant severe heating and cooling.
Electricity and Gas: The monthly expenses for electricity, heating, cooling, water, and garbage are estimated to be about $150 on average.
Internet and Cable: High-speed Internet and cable T.V. packages cost $75 a month, which is approximately the national rate.
Food and Grocery Expenses
The pricing of food and groceries in Sedona may also be higher than in other parts of the country, primarily because the food distribution system in this city is separate from obtaining food from primary wholesale supply sources.
Groceries: The basic food basket in Sedona might cost an individual approximately $350 a month, and for a family of four, the expenditure might go up to $1,000 per month.
Dining Out: Meals served in restaurants in Sedona are also relatively expensive. A fast food meal costs around $15, and the average charge for a three-course dinner at a mid-cost restaurant is around $60.
Transportation Costs
Transport costs are cheap compared to other large cities. After all, Sedona is a small city with relatively short distances.
Gasoline: The price of gas in Sedona is $3. Nationwide, the cost per gallon is pegged at $2. 50, which is, in their view, just slightly higher than the actual number of people with AIDS.
Public Transportation: Sedona also needs more sound public transportation that could have employed them or taken them to volunteer wherever they wanted to be. VerdeLynx is a bus service that connects Sedona and Cottonwood; the one-way charge is $2. 50. However, most residents rely on their cars as a way of transportation.
Vehicle Expenses: Sedona's average car insurance price is $1,200 annually. In contrast, other Costs related to car maintenance and registration are similar to Arizona's rates.
Healthcare Costs
There is also the aspect of healthcare whereby the cost of living in Sedona will depend on the price of paying doctors and other related health facilities.
Compared with the rest of the United States, healthcare costs in Arizona are comparatively low; however, Sedona's rural environment means that sometimes costs can be higher, and services are limited.
Medical Services: As mentioned above, the price for medical services in Sedona significantly exceeds the national average because of the shortage of healthcare facilities in the given locality. A routine visit to a doctor might set a patient back about $120.
Health Insurance: Arizona's premiums are also in the middle of the ranking, a little more than the national average. However, these premiums differ depending on the insurance level and provider.
Education and Childcare
To families with children, the cost of living implies that education and childcare costs are fundamental.
Public Schools: Sedona's public school system is Sedona-Oak Creek Unified School District, which has several good-ranked public schools. Education in Australia is free in public schools. However, the child may have to pay for a uniform or detailed tuition for some activities.
Private Schools: The cost of private tuition in Sedona, depending on the school, is between $5,500 and $15,000 for a year, depending on the grade.
Miscellaneous Expenses
Other minor expenses incurred by personnel include entertainment, gym, and other general expenditures in Sedona.
Entertainment: Some of the favorite activities for the visitors are outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, arts, and cultures, among others. There are often days when we do not have to spend anything to go outside and engage in some form of fun: activities such as walking, biking to different areas such as parks, picnicking, and the like are free, whereas the other types of activities such as going for a museum, watching a play, the festivals, and the likes are costly.
Fitness: The membership fee for the Sedona gym is between $50 and $60 monthly.
Personal Care: Barbering services, hair cutting, and other social amenities in the city are slightly more costly than in different parts of the country due to the city's tourist-based economy.
Comparing Sedona's Cost of Living
When comparing Sedona to other towns or cities regarding the cost of living, one needs to consider the quality of life in Sedona and the facilities it offers.
Despite possibly being more expensive than other Arizona cities, Sedona has all the elements of a fulfilling life; natural wonders, recreational activities, and an excellent arts scene prove them right.
Sedona's cost of living is slightly higher than Swofford's and surpasses Arizona's and national averages, mainly regarding housing and food. However, the city's picture-perfect view, weather, relative inactivity, and cultural and physical activities attract many prospective residents.
Still, consider these costs while moving and estimate them based on your budget and life priorities.

When deciding who to work for there is a sliding scale of employers that goes from lil mom and pop shops up to corporate monoliths. I have worked at both ends of the spectrum and I can pretty definitively say that tiny businesses are hands down the most insane employers.
The sweet spot is a place that has like 10-20 stores; that’s the best possible work environment. They’ll be polished enough to have protocols that make work structured, but not so bogged down with bureaucracy that nothing can ever get done.
This story is not from that sweet spot. This story is from my time working at Oil and Vinegar. Now, like many little franchise stores, the idea was solid. There was on tap imported olive oil and vinegar and it was really delicious. Top shelf. Unfortunately, each location was like the Wild West because owners varied wildly.
My owner was the human embodiment of Mr. Krabbs. His eyes were just constant dollar signs. Throughout my training he informed me of the price of every single piece of equipment I touched and how much it cost to replace it.
He had cameras set up to watch us, and an app on his phone to access the live feed. He’d call us to ask what we were doing when he’d just checked a camera to make sure we were being honest.
Now, the trouble was he had two locations. His location further south did amazing. It was way more centrally located and got three times the foot traffic. The one I worked in was in the snottiest mall possible in Arizona and consequently the rent was through the roof.
It was not going well for my store. We didn’t get as much traffic, so there was only so much I could do in a day. I could dust, sweep, and wait for customers. I read a lot and was frank when he called to interrogate me. I always asked for additional tasks but he never had any. What could I do to prop up a failing business?
But this man was convinced there was some Secret Reason that the store I was in was doing worse. He crunched numbers, looked at staff, and eventually hit upon the most insane possible solution.
We used too much toilet paper.
We were probably stealing toilet paper! Bleeding him dry one single ply square at a time! How dare we need to use the bathroom?! His south location used half as much toilet paper as we did, we must be thieving little monsters!!!!
Friends. The south location was populated entirely by men. My location had three people on staff who had to sit to pee. It was so blindly transparently the source of the discrepancy but this man was convinced we were making off with toilet paper to bankrupt him.
So he implemented what he believed to be an entirely reasonable response to this base treachery. We were allowed to have one roll of toilet paper. At any given time, one roll was permitted to us. This was so transparently unhinged that we protested but he insisted. If we were low on toilet paper we needed to call him to drop off a roll that he brought from his home. Smiling jovially, he assured us he lived so close by that it would be no problem!
When we needed to call him often for more he started tearing his hair out. What were we using toilet paper for?! Why wasn’t his genius plan to stop our scandalous waste working??!
Finally, the manager, the only man on staff had to pull the owner aside and be like, “Look, man, their bladders are smaller. They need to wipe every time they pee. They need to pee even more on their period. Is this really the hill you want to die on?”
Yes. It was. The manager was fired unrelated reasons and denounced as a traitor. The toilet paper ration lasted until I quit and probably until the store closed six months later.

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #20
May 24-31 2024
The EPA awards $900 million to school districts across the country to replace diesel fueled school buses with cleaner alternatives. The money will go to 530 school districts across nearly every state, DC, tribal community, and US territory. The funds will help replace 3,400 buses with cleaner alternatives, 92% of the new buses will be 100% green electric. This adds to the $3 billion the Biden administration has already spent to replace 8,500 school buses across 1,000 school districts in the last 2 years.
For the first time the federal government released guidelines for Voluntary Carbon Markets. Voluntary Carbon Markets are a system by which companies off set their carbon emissions by funding project to fight climate change like investing in wind or solar power. Critics have changed that companies are using them just for PR and their funding often goes to projects that would happen any ways thus not offsetting emissions. The new guidelines seek to insure integrity in the Carbon Markets and make sure they make a meaningful impact. It also pushes companies to address emissions first and use offsets only as a last resort.
The IRS announced it'll take its direct file program nationwide in 2025. In 2024 140,000 tax payers in 12 states used the direct file pilot program and the IRS now plans to bring it to all Americans next tax season. Right now the program is only for simple W-2 returns with no side income but the IRS has plans to expand it to more complex filings in the future. This is one of the many projects at the IRS being funded through President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.
The White House announced steps to boost nuclear energy in America. Nuclear power in the single largest green energy source in the country accounting for 19% of America's total energy. Boosting Nuclear energy is a key part of the Biden administration's strategy to reach a carbon free electricity sector by 2035. The administration has invested in bring the Palisades nuclear plant in Michigan back on-line, and extending the life of Diablo Canyon in California. In addition the Military will be deploying new small modular nuclear reactors and microreactors to power its installations. The Administration is setting up a task force to help combat the delays and cost overruns that have often derailed new nuclear projects and the Administration is supporting two Gen III+ SMR demonstration projects to highlight the safety and efficiency of the next generation of nuclear power.
The Department of Agriculture announced $824 million in new funding to protect livestock health and combat H5N1. The funding will go toward early detection, vaccine research, and supporting farmers impacted. The USDA is also launching a nation wide Dairy Herd Status Pilot Program, hopefully this program will give us a live look at the health of America's dairy herd and help with early detection. The Biden Administration has reacted quickly and proactively to the early cases of H5N1 to make sure it doesn't spread to the human population and become another pandemic situation.
The White House announced a partnership with 21 states to help supercharge America's aging energy grid. Years of little to no investment in America's Infrastructure has left our energy grid lagging behind the 21st century tech. This partnership aims to squeeze all the energy we can out of our current system while we rush to update and modernize. Last month the administration announced a plan to lay 100,000 miles of new transmission lines over the next five years. The 21 states all with Democratic governors are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The Department of Transportation announced $343 million to update 8 of America's oldest and busiest transportation stations for disability accessibility. These include the MBTA's the Green Line's light-rail B and C branches in Boston, Cleveland's Blue Line, New Orleans' St. Charles Streetcar route, and projects in San Francisco and New York City and other locations
The Department of interior announced two projects for water in Western states. $179 million for drought resilience projects in California and Utah and $242 million for expanding water access in California, Colorado and Washington. The projects should help support drinking water for 6.4 million people every year.
HUD announced $150 million for affordable housing for tribal communities. This adds to the over $1 billion dollars for tribal housing announced earlier in the month. Neil Whitegull of the Ho-Chunk Nation said at the announcement "I know a lot of times as Native Americans we've been here and we've seen people that have said, ‘Oh yeah, we'd like to help Indians.’ And they take a picture and they go away. We never see it, But there's been a commitment here, with the increase in funding, grants, and this administration that is bringing their folks out. And there's a real commitment, I think, to Native American tribes that we've never seen before."
Secretary of State Antony Blinken pledged $135 million to help Moldavia. Since the outbreak of Russia's war against neighboring Ukraine the US has given $774 million in aid to tiny Moldavia. Moldavia has long been dependent on Russian energy but thanks to US investment in the countries energy security Moldavia is breaking away from Russia and moving forward with EU membership.
The US and Guatemala launched the "Youth With Purpose” initiative. The initiative will be run through the Central America Service Corps, launched in 2022 by Vice President Harris the CASC is part of the Biden Administration's efforts to improve life in Central America. The Youth With Purpose program will train 25,000 young Guatemalans and connect with with service projects throughout the country.
Bonus: Today, May 31st 2024, is the last day of the Affordable Connectivity Program. The program helped 23 million Americans connect to the internet while saving them $30 to $75 dollars every month. Despite repeated calls from President Biden Republicans in Congress have refused to act to renew the program. The White House has worked with private companies to get them to agree to extend the savings to the end of 2024. The Biden Administration has invested $90 Billion high-speed internet investments. Such as $42.45 billion for Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment, $1 billion for the The Middle Mile program laying 12,000 miles of regional fiber networks, and distributed nearly 30,000 connected devices to students and communities, including more than 3,600 through the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program

Some updates from the past twelve-ish months:
-- Late 2022: Portland and its mayor (Wheeler) started a major push to ban "street camping". Headlines in major media outlets also described "Portland's first sanctioned mass homeless camp" and how "Portland moves forward with $27 million plan to build mass shelters". In December 2022, Portland-area authorities used the so-called "aggressive landscaping" tactic, installing hundreds of hostile architecture boulders to prevent sitting/sleeping. Also in December, homeless advocates and Disability Rights Washington advocates attempted to halt Spokane's (Washington) clearing of a major camp for hundreds of people, and a federal judge sided with advocates to put a temporary restraining order on the sweep.
-- January 2023: Even in the immediate aftermath of historic cold as far south as Miami and Monterrey, sub-freezing temperatures across the Deep South, and sub-zero-Fahrenheit blizzards sweeping North America for a week or longer around Solstice/Christmas 2022, convenience stores "in Texas, California, New York use classical music to shoo homeless".
-- By March 2023: "Portland Mayor Wheeler unveils first location for city-run homeless camp".
-- April 2023: San Francisco and Mayor Brand announce a major "five-year plan" costing over 600 million dollars "to cut the number of unsheltered homeless in half". (Not a plan to put people in homes or find stable housing, but just to technically put them under the roof of shelter, keeping them out of sight, therefore qualifying them for the strange designation of "the sheltered homeless".) At the same time, San Francisco opened a "long-term homeless shelter on Treasure Island", pushing homeless people onto an isolated island mostly composed of concrete and asphalt.
-- Summer 2023: In May, the city of Phoenix (Arizona) began its project to clear and eliminate its largest homeless camp, known as the Zone, a refuge for hundreds of people. During the record-breaking heat of the summer of 2023, Phoenix cleared the camp systematically, block by block. At the beginning of September 2023, as "Phoenix breaks heat record as city hits 110F [110 degrees Fahrenheit] for the 54th consecutive day", the city cleared the block of the camp where most seniors and the elderly lived.
-- January 2024: About one week ahead of winter holidays (Solstice/Christmas), the City of Edmonton pursued plans to sweep 130 homeless encampments as part of what has been described as a "shocking" eviction plan. In January, the city was clearing camps amidst sustained deadly severe weather, during a polar vortex event with temperatures of negative 50 degrees Fahrenheit and daytime highs of negative 25F. When a court case presented by Coalition for Justice and Human Rights tried to slow the sweeps, a judge sided with them and shut down the evictions.
-- March 2024: Florida's governor signs a new law. NPR describes: "law that seeks to move unhoused people off public property altogether and into government-run encampments".
-- April 2024: The U.S. Supreme Court begins hearing a case from Grants Pass (Oregon) with major implications and potential to incite nationwide "banishment race" and "homelessness crackdown". Lower courts have previously said that city policies (like Grants Pass, Boise, and others) were "cruel and unusual" for fining and/or jailing people for sleeping on public land if no adequate accessible shelter is available. But now?

Intoxicated
March 16th, 2009
Today was my 21st birthday. My friend had set me up on a blind date with an actor, but didn't tell me who. She figured this would be the perfect scenario considering the hell I'd went through last Summer with a guy that was probably the biggest piece of shit on the planet. I haven't dated or been intimate with anyone since then, nor did I really have any interest in being.
I looked over at her, "What is this guy even like?" I asked, finishing up curling my hair.
She smiled, "He's tall, he's nice, he's super sexy and he's not American, if that gives you any hints."
I shrugged as I sat my curling iron down, starting to put my eyeliner on, "It doesn't. But I mean, is this even someone I'd be remotely interested in?" I asked her, giving her a questioning look.
She chuckled, "I'm positive you'll be thanking me by the end of the night."
I rolled my eyes, "So he's an actor?"
She nodded, bringing me a pair of ripped bell bottom jeans, "Yes. A very talented actor."
I quickly changed into the jeans, "Is he anyone I know?"
She walked to my living room, grabbing my keys to bring me, "Ummm... He's in that movie we watched when we were teenagers. I think it's called Swordfish or something like that."
I gave her a questioning look, "Did you set me up with John Travolta?"
She covered her mouth laughing, "You'll just have to wait and see. I'm not telling you anything!"
She probably set me up with one of the extras, someone I most likely wouldn't even remember ever being in the movie. She knows I hate surprises, but I appreciate her for trying, even though the last blind date she set me up on was a complete and total dud.
She clapped her hands at me, "Go! You were supposed to leave 5 minutes ago! He's going to meet you at RH Rooftop." She yelled.
I grabbed my phone, made sure I had my keys and looked at her before heading out the door to our apartment, "I swear, if this is another dud, I'm going to kill you."
She rolled her eyes, "I promise, it's not a dud. Just go."
I rolled my eyes, closing the door behind me as I made my way down the hall, towards the elevator, then to my car in the parking garage. While making the drive to the restaurant, I'll tell you a bit about myself... I'm a Southern Belle, originally from South Carolina. I moved to NYC after obtaining a degree in journalism. I didn't have many opportunities in my small town, so I decided to move to a bigger city in hopes of pursuing a career as a reporter. I've been serving as an intern for a local publishing company, which has gone well for the most part.
Callie and I are roommates. She also moved here for journalism, but moved here from Arizona. We met while working part-time at a coffee cafe and became roommates since the cost of living in NYC is astronomically high. She took a different career path, as a model which caused her to meet many different celebrities. She'd tried getting me into modeling with her, but it wasn't my thing. We shared a dog, Harley, who was a beautiful French Bulldog, that was treated as if he were our love child.
As I arrived and finally found parking for RH Rooftop, I realized I was 10 minutes late. I quickly turned my car off and sprinted towards the entrance. I don't even know who I'm looking for or how to spot this dude. I approached the hostess stand, looking nervous as I skimmed the crowd of dinners wondering who Callie had set me up with.
The hostess noticed me, "May I help you with something?" She asked kindly.
I nodded, "Ummm... I"m here with a guy, but I'm unsure of where he's sitting. He's not American and is very tall. He's also an actor." I stammered, knowing I must sound insane.
She giggled, "Can you tell me his name?"
I pursed my lips, "Not really. I'm on a blind date, so I have no idea what his name is...or who he is." I chuckled nervously, scratching the back of my neck.
She smiled, "Okay, I think I know who you're referring to. He told us he was expecting a blind date. Follow me." She said, grabbing a menu and leading me to the rooftop entrance.
I followed behind, still curious as to who this would be. I'd probably shit a brick if it were John Travolta, but I'm pretty sure he's off the market. There was that computer hacker dude that was pretty hot too. As we reached the rooftop tables, she led me to a dark haired man that had his back towards the entrance. I couldn't make out who he was just yet and considering that was an older movie, I doubt I'd recognize him from the movie from the back.
He stood as he heard us approach and pulled my chair out, turning to face me, "You must be my date." He said with a smile, extending his hand to shake mine, "I'm Hugh." He said casually.
It was the computer hacker dude, and shit, did he look good. Even 8 years later, he still looked good.
I smiled, shaking his hand, "I am, I'm Kaitlyn." I said as I took my seat. He gave me another smile before going back to his seat across from me.
"How're you doing, love?" He asks, smiling at me, keeping his elbows off the table. Hm, a real gentleman.
I chuckled at his flattery, already calling me a pet name. "I'm doing good, everything's going great for me at the moment. How's things going for you?"
He shifted, "I just wrapped up filming an origin movie for a character I've played for the last 9 years, I'm finally on a much needed break and no longer on a strict regime for my character, which I'm fully intending on breaking tonight with a milkshake."
I giggled, "I see." I said as the waiter approached us. He was a young man who was obviously infatuated with my date.
"Holy s-, I mean, I'm so sorry-" He stammered as Hugh began cracking up, "It's quite alright, mate." He said to the young man.
The man smiled, "Mr. Jackman, I'm sorry. Wolverine is my all-time favorite X-Men character." Hugh smiled, "Can I please get a picture with you? I swear I'll keep it professional after." He asked.
Hugh laughed, "Sure thing, mate. I'm sorry, love, but do you mind helping our waiter out with a picture?" He asked, almost embarrassingly.
I chuckled, "I don't mind." The waiter smiled, handing me his cell phone as Hugh got up to stand beside him, making a Wolverine pose as if he had retractable claws.
He pat the man on the back and sat back across from me, "Thank you so much, Mr. Jackman. And thank you for taking the picture. My name is William. What can I start you guys off with to drink?" He asked.
Hugh and I looked at each other, "I think I'll take a martini." I said, flipping through the bar menu. "No problem, William. I'll take a martini, and also, a chocolate milkshake. Large, William."
I giggled at his serious tone making sure William understood Hugh wanted a large. "Coming right up, are there any appetizers you guys want to start with?" William asked before walking off as we both shook our heads.
Hugh looked up at me, damn was he sexy, "So, tell me about you." He said, smirking.
I pursed my lips wondering what to tell, "Hmm, let's see... I have a Frenchie, his name is Harley. I'm an intern for a local business. I have a degree in journalism. I moved here from South Carolina after graduating college for a better chance of a career in journalism."
He nodded, taking my words in, "I've always wanted a French Bulldog. I also have a degree in journalism. I moved here from Australia many years ago, but I moved for X-Men." He said, forcing his accent deeper as he mentioned being from Australia.
I chuckled, "You do have a very sexy accent. I actually didn't know you weren't American because your American accent is so convincing."
He smirked, "I happen to think your accent is sexy too." He said flirtatiously, making me blush.
I laughed, "I literally sound like cornbread, stop."
He laughed, "You do not. Even if you did, cornbread tastes good."
Our waiter returned with our drinks and Hugh's large milkshake, and proceeded to take our order. I reached for the menus, but Hugh swiped them from me, handing them to our server.
He winked at me, "Gotta be quicker than that, beautiful."
I playfully rolled my eyes, "Tell me more about you." I said, resting my chin on my hands, giving him my undivided attention.
He smiled, "What do you wanna know?" He asked flirtatiously.
I shrugged, "Everything."
He chuckled, "For starters, I have two children, Ava and Oscar. They are 4 and 9. I play cricket. I enjoy singing. Every year, I go back to Australia and do the polar plunge. I'm recently divorced. Anything else you want to know?"
I smirked, "Have you been with anyone since the divorce?"
He looked at, surprised at my question, but smiled, "No, no I haven't. I haven't been with anyone besides her since 1995."
I bit my lip, raising my brow with a giggle, "So you're not a douche bag then, noted."
He smiled sweetly, "No, I'm not a douche bag." He said softly.
I shifted in my seat, taking a sip from my martini, "What are you hoping to come from this?"
He shrugged, "I really don't know, love. I have no expectations, whatever happens, happens. What about you?" He asks, his eyes burning through me, almost with a lust.
I smirked, "I kind of go with the flow. Whatever happens, happens."
He bit his lip, "I like that."
As the night went on, we ate our food and drank a few martinis. Both of us, feeling a little tipsy and beginning to ask risque questions as he moved his chair to my side of the table, now beside me.
"So tell me, what are some of your turn-ons?" I asked with a smirk, sipping my 3rd martini.
His one hand moved to my thigh under the table, "Does it count if I say you?" He smirked, looking me in the eyes.
I bit my lip, "Do you want to um...get out of here?" I asked him quietly.
He grabbed my hand, "C'mon, love." and began leading me towards the entrance of the rooftop bar to head back downstairs and to the sidewalk. "Let's go to my car." He said, leading me to an SUV.
As we got to the car, he rushed towards the backseat, opening the door, motioning for me to climb in. I climbed in, sliding to the other end as he quickly slid in beside me, shutting the door and pulling me onto his lap, slamming his lips against mine as he roughly gripped my hips. I felt him begin pushing his hips upwards, grinding into me as I reached behind us, positioning myself upwards, tugging at his belt.
"Take this off..." I muttered against his lips as he bit my bottom lip, I pulled away and slid my top off as he helped me, tossing it into the seat beside us, leaving me in my bra and jeans. I slid off of him to remove my jeans and underwear as he undid his belt and jeans, his hard dick exposed.
"Come here." He said, almost demanding, as he grabbed my arm, bringing my lips back to his as I straddled his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck as I lowered myself down onto him, taking every inch.
He moaned against my lips, "Fuck, you're tight." He said lowly as he sucked on my bottom lip, nibbling at it.
I began bouncing up and down, roughly, my moans filling the car. I felt him reach up and grab my breasts, that were covered by my bra, squeezing them. "Shit, your cock feels so good inside me." I cried out.
He pushed my bra down, exposing my breasts as he popped one of my nipples into my mouth, nibbling at it and sucking as he started thrusting his hips up to meet mine. "Oh fuck!" I yelled as he moved his hands to my hips and started thrusting hard into me.
"We gotta be quick, we're in a parking lot." He chuckled as he began moaning again.
I could feel my orgasm coming, I grabbed his chin, forcing his face back to mine, crashing my lips onto his. "Cum for me, baby." He said huskily, moving his lips down to my neck, sucking and biting softly.
I felt my eyes practically roll back into my head as I let myself go, my juices flowing down his throbbing cock as he spilled his load inside me.
"Second date?" He asked, out of breath, laughing.
I nodded, catching my breath, "Definitely."

problem solved
jemily x reader
prompt: reader’s roommate is literally the worst but jj and emily have a simple solution for their third.
a/n: my roommate SUCKS and im a doormat when it comes to living situations so i need the outlet.
“where are you right now?” jj asked down the phone as she and emily drove through some deserted town in arizona. they’d been out in the dry heat for two days now and they were more than ready to go home. it didn’t particularly help that they’d just officially had a rather positive change in their relationship three weeks ago. having to jet off just days after such a big transition was proving to be a bit jarring. the sort of domestic bliss they’d found themselves living in was disrupted and neither of them liked it one bit.
“i’m sitting on a park bench. i can’t rant and rave like this in the apartment.” y/n sighed heavily down the phone.
jj pulled the phone from her ear to check the time and quickly moved it back to scold the younger woman. “it’s almost 8pm there, you shouldn’t be sitting on a park bench alone right now.”
emily scoffs in irritation, “put her on speaker.”
jj puts y/n on speaker and turns the phone in emily’s direction, “baby you’re on speaker now.”
“why are you sitting on a park bench alone at night?” emily interrogates.
“because i can’t openly complain in my apartment if my roommate is there. the walls are thin.” y/n explained again, feeling her frustration building as it got darker outside.
“well get to talking because i need you safely inside within the next 30 minutes.” emily prompted turning her attention back to the road.
“my roommate is literally the worst,” y/n groaned into the phone, slouching against the bench. “remember the whole getting another kitten without telling me thing, and the flea infestation thing, and the her girlfriend basically living here and using everything and not contributing to anything thing…” y/n listed.
the older women answered affirmatively, waiting to hear about the craziness of their girlfriend’s roommate this time. “my friend just called to let me know that my roommate was fired for playing hookie one too many times.”
“what?!” emily was the first to react. outrage festering at the surface.
“exactly! mind you, she’s not told me anything at all. so let’s see how long it takes her to mention something to me. it’s not like i don’t have bills of my own to pay— i can’t exactly afford this place on my own. if that was the case i wouldn’t have needed a roommate. and on top of that, they’ve got people over already and i could smell the weed from the parking lot. which is literally against the lease! why can’t they just eat an edible like the rest of us. also the illegal kitty they didn’t notify the office about. oh and also also don’t even get me started on the testing positive for—“ y/n ranted, frustration turning to anger.
jj, the self-appointed calm of the relationship, cut through the ranting in a calming voice. “baby, i hear you loud and clear. but can you take a deep breath for me.” she smiled hearing the younger woman huff but follow her instructions. she let her gaze shift to emily and shook her head, “you too emily.”
as both of her girlfriends took deep breaths, jj continued, “now that we’ve all calmed down a bit, let’s think of solutions. temporary ones or permanent ones. have you talked to your roommate about anything?”
“yes, and i mean at this point i feel like im wasting my breath.”
“when is your lease up? sometimes your landlord will let you out early. with a fee of course but we can deal with that later.” emily asked.
“i still have 5 months left. and trust me i’ve read the lease front and back and it’s going to cost me an arm and a leg to get out of this thing early.”
“well as i said we’ll handle that later.” emily mumbled pointedly. y/n groaned, already gearing up to refuse their help.
“why don’t you go stay at our place?” jj suggested quickly.
“but aren’t you in arizona?” y/n asked in confusion.
“yes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go stay at our apartment. does it?” jj asked in her own confusion.
“yes it does. don’t you think it’d be weird for me to be in your space while y’all are away on a case?”
“no i don’t think it’d be weird. you’ve come over loads of times before. our space is just as much your space as it is ours.” emily replied.
“i don’t know em. i only officially became your girlfriend three weeks ago. if we’re looking at the traditional relationship timeline, we’re no where near the girlfriend staying in your apartment while you’re away.” y/n rambled.
“sweetheart, if we’re measuring our relationship in the traditional relationship timeline we were off before we even began.” jj reminded with a chuckle.
“yeah love, i don’t think casually sleeping together for months is how the traditional relationship timeline starts.” emily snorts. “plus, in sleeping together for months before officially becoming a couple, you’ve spent more nights in our apartment than your own at this point.”
“okay well.” y/n said quietly in defeat.
“exactly, you know where the key is and you know the security code. i want you to go pack your essentials and then head to our place.” emily spoke, letting some authority slip into her voice.
it had the desired response. “fine.” y/n groaned in exasperation. “but only because it’s getting dark and you know i can’t argue when you get all dom mommy on me.”
both emily and jj dissolve into laughter and y/n smiled sweetly as she made her way out of the park. once the older women quieted down jj spoke up casually, “call us when you get back to the apartment. and when we get back we’ll get you your own key.”
“my own key? you can’t say that so casually when you’re in arizona chasing a serial killer.”
“why does my location matter, when i get back i’ll say it just as casually as i said it now.” jj teased.
“i’ll even clean out part of my shoe closet when we get back so you can start keeping some things at the apartment as opposed to packing a bag everytime you come over.” emily added.
“cleaning out your shoe closet? your personal shoe vault. footwear heaven. just say you’re in love with me already.” y/n replied dramatically.
“i could, but i doubt you’d accept it since we’re in arizona chasing a serial killer.” emily chuckled.
“and you’d be right.” y/n nodded, settling into the seat of her car. “i’m in the car— heading to my place and then your place for the night.”
“the week.” jj corrected.
“for the week. i’ll call you when i get there. satisfied?”
“very. and we’ll deal with your lease when we get back.” emily said definitively. no room for argument.
“now drive safe— we’ll talk later.”
“okay,” y/n drawled slowly. “thank you.”
both women smiled softly, knowing the younger woman really struggled accepting help. “anytime, baby.”

"The 80-year-old communications engineer from Texas had saved for decades, driving around in an old car and buying clothes from thrift stores so he’d have enough money to enjoy his retirement years.
But as dementia robbed him of his reasoning abilities, he began making online political donations over and over again — eventually telling his son he believed he was part of a network of political operatives communicating with key Republican leaders.
In less than two years, the man became one of the country’s largest grassroots supporters of the Republican Party, ultimately giving away nearly half a million dollars to former President Donald Trump and other candidates. Now, the savings account he spent his whole life building is practically empty."
...
One 82-year-old woman, who wore pajamas with holes in them because she didn’t want to spend money on new ones, didn’t realize she had given Republicans more than $350,000 while living in a 1,000 square-foot Baltimore condo since 2020.
By the time a Taiwanese immigrant from California passed away from lung cancer this year at age 80, she had given away more than $180,000 to Trump’s campaign and a litany of other Republican candidates – writing letters to candidates apologizing for not getting donations to them on time because she was going into heart surgery. She had only $250 in her bank account when she died, leaving her family scrambling to cover the cost of her funeral.
And a 78-year-old, a widow who limited showers to save on her water bill and canceled her long-term care insurance, didn’t understand why the retirement savings her husband had left her was dwindling so quickly. After CNN reached out to her family, they learned that the woman gave more than $200,000 in donations to Democratic political groups and candidates.
...
Richard Benjamin, an 81-year-old from Arizona, believed he had been in personal communication with former president Trump through all the messages he was receiving.
At one point, he told his children the former president invited him to a luxurious reception at Mar-a-Lago. He had grown up on a farm and worried he would feel out of his element at such a fancy venue. But when he received what he described to his children as an invitation to be a VIP at a rally in Arizona, he was thrilled he would finally meet the former president himself. He started making travel plans and asking his sister-in-law if she would like to accompany him, since his wife had passed away in 2018.
Later, he told his son how angry he was that Donald Trump Jr. wouldn't call him back even though the former president’s son had sent Benjamin so many nice messages."

DISOBEDIENCE! (PT.1)
Summary: Y/N Swan knew one thing, they HATED being controlled. Y/N wanted free will and broke any rule that they saw as controlling them. Soon Y/N and Bella move to Forks, Y/N finally found a group they could be free with….Y/N found their pack but at the cost of others becoming obsessed with them
TW/CW:Yandere behavior, unhealthy behavior, unhealthy relationship, abusive behavior, abusive relationship, Y/N hates the cullens due to werewolf behaviors, they were already turned before hand and didn’t have a pack, Y/N turned while in Arizona so the sudden hyperactive behavior is new, Y/N gets adopted into a pack, Y/N is a hella hyperactive, only wolf gifs because I’m not sure what to use for the middle one ngl, Y/N acts like a lost and sleepy puppy sometimes but not all the times, have this while I try to finish up request, tell me if I need to add more
You smiled widely. You were moving in with your dad! You loved him! Bella seemed upset with moving to Forks but you didn’t care! As soon as you saw your dad, you smiled widely as you ran and jumped onto him. He was startled but he was able to caught you. He laughed as you hugged him tightly. “I see you kissed me Y/N” Charlie softly said as you rapidly nodded your head. “Get off of him Y/N” Bella said. You looked at her upset.
She was commanding you. You hated it. You weren’t a damn creature to command! “I’ll get off if dad wants me to” you replied as you laid your head on his shoulder. He decided to hold you until you all arrived at his car. You were quick to get into the back seat so you could hold your head out the window. You had a lot of energy like usual.
You were smiling as you took in the air of the forest, you felt safe. Arizona was fun but not safe, there was no woods for you to hunt but there are here! You can let out all of your energy for once! “Oh, I got you two a car. It’s a truck actually, I hope you two don’t mind sharing” Charlie said as he smiled at you pulling your head back in the car with a wide smile. “REALLY!? OH YESYESYESYESYES!” You were more hyper than what he was used to but he didn’t mind, you were his little kid.
Bella smiled, not at the truck sound, at you. You always made her happy, even when you didn’t listen to her. Soon you two arrived at Billy black’s place for the truck, you didn’t even realized you all unpacked. You were going up and down on your tippy toes so you didn’t run around to annoy the man. Werewolf. You knew it, you can smell the scent. He was definitely a well respected one, you haven’t met other werewolves before yet you knew better than to outright ask.
Soon his son Jacob showed up. You all chuckled at Billy black and Charlie doing their friendly rivalry. You looked at Jacob confused…he smelt like a wolf but..he wasn’t one? Maybe it’s because he hangs around his dad a lot. You weren’t paying attention to the conversation until your name was said. You looked up and tilted your head, why did he smell like a wolf? Why did Billy Black smell like a wolf? This just confused you a lot. Bella sighed and stayed near you, she wanted to make sure you didn’t wander off.
This was going to be a long life. “Oh Billy, meet my other kid, Y/N. Y/N, say hi.” Charlie stated and pulled you beside him so Billy could see you. “Hello!” Billy chuckled at the enthusiastic ‘Hello’ so he waved back. “Hello to you as well. Last I saw, you weren’t this energetic!” Billy pointed out which made you chuckle. “Growing up does that!” “That it does. Fixed up the truck for you and Bella.” You squealed in joy and immediately got into the back seat, basically making sure it’s covered in your scent.
Bella chuckled and softly sighed. She enjoyed your behavior even if it was a big chaotic. “Thank you.” Bella said to Billy which got a head nod from him. Bella knew that this was going to be a long time while living here but you seemed happy..so she’ll put up with it for a while

I am speaking on behalf of @eslamfa1, who has her own campaign for her and her family so they may survive under the harsh conditions in Gaza. She is very thankful for all the support she's had, but she needs more help.
She has asked me to host a fundraiser for more of her family, namely for her parents and siblings who desperately need funds for food, water, and medical treatment. They have been displaced multiple times and have only been able to contact Eslam through an unreliable internet connection.
Here is their story as written by her sister, Aya:
"Hello friends, we will tell you our sad story
I am Aya, an outstanding high school student. I was very happy to be on the verge of achieving my dream of finishing my school studies and achieving what I aspired to, which is to become a doctor.
My family of 8 and a beautiful cat named Katie were living a beautiful and peaceful life, each of us striving to achieve our dreams.
We had our beautiful house in Khan Yunis. Recently, we were celebrating my sister Heba’s fourth place in the Gaza Strip in the Arabic language recruitment exam. Our life was like material and emotional perfection. We did not feel deprived or lacking anything.
My sister Lina is a university student. Her dream was to become a psychologist to help mentally ill people in the Strip.
My brother Ahmed was the most beautiful gift from God. He came after 20 years of being deprived of male siblings. After completing his studies, he became a water carrier and took on a great responsibility beyond his capacity.
We also had two little butterflies, the apple of the house, and Jana, the favorites of their teachers and friends at school.
Then the war broke out and everything was turned upside down. We were forced to leave the house after quadcopters surrounded us, tanks surrounded us, and we saw death right in front of our eyes, but we miraculously escaped.
We were displaced several times on foot. Feet, then our end was in a tent that did not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer, and there were poisonous insects and scorpions around us, there was no clean water or healthy food, so my family and I got hepatitis and a lot of intestinal infections.
We were shocked that our house was bombed and destroyed and the features of the house disappeared from the face of the earth, so we felt very sad and despair took over us.
Life here in Gaza is expensive, we cannot buy the minimum necessities of life, imagine that the price of a kilo of tomatoes is $50, and the price of a bag of flour is $200, life here is like a famine! My father is a nervous patient and my mother suffers from chronic pressure and they need continuous treatment and medications. We suffer from bringing water from long distances, and from the high prices of food and cleaning materials and water pollution. What we have suffered most in this war is the loss of members of our family, and this is the hardest thing we have been through. We have lost 20 members of our family. Please help us bear the very high cost of living until we evacuate from Gaza and save our lives. The cost per person is $5,000. Help us, you are the only hope left."
These are some of the photos she's managed to receive of some of her family (Aya, Ahmed, Hala, Jana, and their cat) and of the conditions of the areas they've been displaced from and to:
Note: Due to mentioned lack of internet connection, Eslam has not been able to receive more photos yet. There will be more updates to come when, hopefully, more communications are made.
PLEASE DONATE !!!!! Aya, Lina, Ahmed, Hala, jana, and their parents' well beings are at stake! Starting goal is $10,000
