Comme vous avez pu deviner, il y a eu beaucoup de migrant·es Irlandais mais aussi Polonais, Ukrainiens, Yéménites, Libanais. Le quartier ouvrier polonais a maintenant une grande communauté Yéménite, ce qui change par exemple, le nombre de bars dans le quartier !

Mais le nombre d'églises est quand même hallucinant à Detroit. Je me sens comme à la maison, Angers et ses lieux catho. Ici, chacune a son style architectural et aussi son courant religieux. Il y a en pour tout le monde !

When I read this passage in Maureen Jennings' Night's Child (whilst on a bus on a rainy and windy January day), it reminded me of riding the streetcar in Toronto, and how much I loved it, canvassing the city in its comfortable warmth. And, I often stopped at River Street, too!
