Dropped my phone today and broke the screen broke. T-T I've had that thing for 6 years, since 2018/19 and it was still running flawlessly. Still does. I got a work phone 2-3 years ago that was so full of bugs... 💀 Not sure if I should get a new one or get this one fixed. It was only 130 bucks when I bought it, the current model from the same brand would be a bit more expensive, reasonably so with much more dataspace, RAM and everything. And fixing this one also costs over 100. Tough call. :')

i have to make silly drawings because otherwise i think about how from the moment he left moonstone swag daniels has been exploited and reduced to a body by all the people he turned to looking for meaning/connection and now he might be already dead and turned into a mindless body puppeted by alexandrite. and i cant think about that so i have to draw blorbos wearing crop tops
#naddpod#ba2mia#ba2umia#having a real long shower pondering session#obvs the main theme of c3 is nature/the wild vs technology#but i also think a pretty major one is . exploitation. and specifically reducing people to their bodies for the sake of profit and power#like obvs theres swag daniels. but also... the entire first arc (secure the mothership); glen manipulation of callie; calder and ultrus;#the honeysuckle by gromdoll; even hardwon to a point - more so that he copes w grief by reducing himself to his aging body#and forgets how much he is adored bu moonshine and beverly#which is also the otherside of this theme. what u become when u r reduced to a body vs treated w kindness and friendship#anyway theres probs more and stuff#but liek yeah#but now back to drawing frogs kissing#ramble tag

I've just realised that if my story is set vaguely in the modern day, unless it's an AU of an AU, Moriarty would probably end up having to deal with trying to teach remotely during the covid lockdowns (and he would hate it so much).
#I could have a whole story that's just about#how Moriarty and Moran coped with lockdown#it would be like... plotting crime and smut#and Moriarty getting increasingly irate at modern technology#it makes the most sense setting the first story a few years before that though#mostly because of when British combat troops left Afghanistan#James Moriarty

I love having anxiety disorder bc I just signed up for covid shot next friday and immediately after hitting submit I got a "what if it kills me. what if I just chose my date of death" anxiety preview to what I'll be experiencing right after the shot is administered. so much fun to look forward to.
#nothing important#certainly I am suffering some currently undisclosed condition that will only become apparent the moment the vaccine goes in and#by then it will have been too late#certainly#it's not like I had two shots in the last three years already#but you have to understand. this is the New one made with slightly different technology.#or what if I've been having stealth covid these past two months and the shot will add in more covid which would be Bad#/I am making this post to cope with my fear by mocking myself don't mind me/#anyway this is why I could not continue watching dr house back in the day

Zero Day Director commentary - With actor Andre Keuck
#movies#film#cinema#Damn I wish Cal was here#Andre and Ben are really interesting to listen to#This movie is one of those movies where it needs like 3 commentaries#It needs one with just Ben Coccio by himself#then one with Cal and Andre by themselves#then another with all 3 of them#Not all movies do that but I love when studios/filmmakers have multiple commentaries to create a sense of thorough intimacy#due to the nature of how commentaries are set up they can be quite restrictive/pressing/limited with no pauses or rewinds.#so I find cast/crew don't have enough time or able to present how they would like to if they could edit/rewind or pause for fluent presenta#So I love when they have director commentaries and actor commentaries or composer commentaries#Platoon's dvd extras are so dope they got multiple commentaries and one with military adviser Dale Dye who was a RL vietnam vet#Or Hostel's commentaries where one is just Eli Roth and another is Tarantino and Eli Roth with Scott Spiegal#idk if Zero Day ever got a blu-ray release but I think it should but the DV technology of the camera is kinda at it's limit of resolution#but an AI upscaling with 20 years later retrospective with Ben Cal and Andre would be sooo dope along with updated commentaries#Every few years I always rewatch Zero Day so that time has come that last few days lol#Ever since Columbine as a lil kid I have always been into spree-murders and active shooter incidents#I remember reading a peer-reviewed paper called Pseudo-Commandos#And Eric and Dylan and Andre and Cal would be dubbed Pseudo-Commandos where they dress up in a semi-military fashion#and have a delusion of superiority mixed with perceived sense of persecution whether it's true or not#it went into the Postal shooter from the 80s as well and what he went through along#plus I read another book called Going Postal which also went into postal shootings along with school shootings#I want to make a film about spree murders or an active shooter/s but I remember just getting so tired of the subject matter#because every 3 weeks there was some new shooter in the headlines and I found myself not wanting to be exploitative#When I write/direct my film I'd like it to address and study the character of such an individual but not try to be too political#or exploitative and focus on the ambiguities that are left behind when someone does this#as a society I noticed we stopped asking the questions on why and stopped having constructive conversations#it feels like as a coping mechanism we've started treating them like tornados or natural disasters

One thing I don't see people talk about much in the context of anxiety is how freaking annoying it is.
Anxiety is borrowing energy from the future. There's this Thing, real or imagined, that's looming, or that could happen, so you gotta prepare and be ready, so you mobilize your energy resources toward it. "Very slow tigers are chasing me" and all that -- the tiger is somewhere out there and you gotta be Ready and not relax or else it might get you.
And I've been doing a lot to work with instead of against my anxiety, like "okay there is a Thing that's stressing me and all my energy is being mobilized worrying about that thing Now, so what can I do Now to put this energy to work? What steps can I take with all this anxious energy to get ready for that very slow tiger's arrival?"
Which is good and fine and can help dissipate the anxiety, yay, but -
But sometimes there's nothing more you can do to prep for that slow tiger. You've got everything ready and done everything you can do and the tiger is actually a cub like it's not even a threat, but you're still buzzing with energy waiting for it to show up.
Which itself is annoying because you wanna relax and you try your distractions and meditations and other tools and they help maybe but they don't necessarily change or fix the fact that the tiger is on its way, and your body and brain are demanding you Be Ready.
But far more annoying? That's a lot of energy mobilized, a lot of resources spent. So after long enough you feel spent, because you haven't hit a full state of relaxation or slept that well or truly recharged -- you're still using up that energy Staying Alert for the tiger.
And then you have no energy left for other shit! And the tiger is still on its way! And the other shit starts turning into little baby tigers because you didn't have the focus or lost the energy to direct toward it effectively.
Rinse and repeat. And it's annoying af.
#anxiety#is dumb#I'm a million times better at managing it than i used to be#it used to be distressing now it's more annoying#which like - huge improvement#and those methods and tactics do work and help!#which yeah they are research informed methods#blending and adaptively applying both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping#it's just that sometimes it's not enough especially in a busy capitalist society#where there isn't enough time or space to let one thing breathe and pause the rest#it all keeps coming and you're not given enough room to really effectively relax and recharge#i think that's the real crux of it honestly and it's a societal issue that's getting worse#with improvements in digital technologies and with the attention economy#and the availability to be reached anywhere and work anywhere and the way that bleeds into a constant churn of expectation and action#anyway this isn't new information#I'm just tired today because there's a tiger waiting for me this afternoon#that i did all i could to prep for but still couldn't relax from#so am annoyed and sleepy-grumpy
