The BWCat and the Cocker Spaniel are /the/ faces of Webkinz!#They're on the tags! On the site! Show up in a lot of promotional material/in-game items/advertisements/etc! They had to be the first two!#And also it's just good practice for implementing a multi-pet system generally #It's all well and good if Diamond works Perfectly but if as soon as you add in a second element everything goes wrong what's the point #So he's here early in development ♪ Very important that they grow together! And also they're best friends you wouldn't separate them right #It's actually pretty fun to start to think about what I'd name the other OG8! Since I've only ever had Diamond she's so solidified to me #I'm biased towards the BWCat but the Cocker Spaniel is quite cute too! When I can actually draw him correctly lol #I haven't talked much about the pet adoption aspect yet - Diamond and Rocky are just the names I use but! The point is to pick your own!#I mean I still don't have names decided for the rest of them - Rocky just Happened and I've settled happily into it haha #I'd love to have a custom pronouns system too - I've seen it! I think it's really cool!!#One step at a time...#Still using the GShop label lol it's the WShop I promise the concept art went through a phase it's back to normal now lol #Another aspect of pet raising that I think is underutilized in Webkinz Classic is pet interaction!#You can Imagine whatever you want and pose them and stuff but pet conversation?? Come on!!#You can have your pets in the same room but they can't talk to each other?? No! Ghostkinz can talk to each other They Have To #Surprisingly the second pet wouldn't be on the Kero/secondary character ''layer'' hehe #And then a few other little interaction/flags for if multiple pets have been adopted :3c #What do your 'Kinz get up to when you're not around? They keep themselves and each other entertained haha #Having them ''running loose'' in your computer vs. their own rooms does make for a different environment haha #Send 'em home and to bed when you're done playing so they can't get up to so much trouble! No they still will lol

the funniest thing about having to report fraud on my credit card today was the girl on the phone listing all my transactions to me to see if i recognized them and literally 100% of them were all media purchases liiiiike wow I really have 1 hobby and 1 hobby only don't I

#it was like #netflix? prime? criterion channel? disney+? youtube?#yep yep yep yep all me #cineplex? nintendo? local bookstore? kindle? patreon?#yep all me as well #also the awkward moment where i had to confirm i paid for tumblr this month lol like who does that #literally i think the only purchases she listed that werent me being a nerd about media consumption was my car insurance and phone bill #anywayz someone used my credit card to buy something that was 540 dollars on amazon today!!!!#locked that shit down #they bought a deep cut band saw that they were trying to send to a suburban house in whitby ontario #the way in which i can literally google street view the asshole's home who stole my shit because they added their address to my account...#i dont know how they got it but MAYBE this will force me to get a new computer since i know outdated ones are bad for getting scammed on #somebody was also selling all my 1 cent stupid steam trading cards with my steam account last night #i cant even use frikkin steam to play games right now yet i can still get scammed on there apparently argh. so many passwords to change #i wish they'd do away with that fuckass steam trading card system #like i don't even care about those at all but that's the second time that this has happened to me now #p

“And I’m 3 CHAPTERS AHEAD IN MATH! Simon was positively flabbergasted when I told him. I just love math so much…yep, sayin’ that is still a little scary.”

“I jogged about 6 miles total this weekend while listening to my favorite tunes. I ate some peppermint ice cream too! And I doodled! So many doodles! I’m working on organizing my comic ideas better because so far they’re just sticky notes.”

“Anyway, the only thing I’m behind in is Home Ec. I missed a project while I was worrying about Computer Science. (We get our grades for our last big Computer Science assignment tomorrow.) oh yeah bimonthly (< overestimating) rtm update time. writing this out is mainly a 'romeo absolutely do not forget that we've struck gold here once it comes time to actually put the game together' reminder but i think rtm is going to have a border like a pc 98 game, a lot of the borders on old pc 98 games (< redundant) are incredibly reminiscent of the borders on illuminated manuscripts and i think it would be neat to pay homage to both the earliest forms of both the works i'm adapting (matter of britain) and the medium i'm working in (eroge vns) at the same time and also it's literally so so so gorgeous

i honestly don't understand tech enthusiasts like why on earth would you want your front door lock linked to your phone. it doesn't even save time like having to get your phone and open an app and press a button would take basically the same time as manually unlocking the door with a key, so what's the point??? looking cool?? getting locked outside when the internet doesn't work or the app crashes?????

baldy gate looks fun but i don't have a pc that can run it or a ps5 so in order to play it i will have to spend approximately $1500. well there's other pastimes.

#the entry gate to pc gaming these days is so cost prohibitive i think the industry is going to eat itself at some point soon.#heard somebody recently say that pc games used to be so prevalent bc they were what you played with your home computer if you couldn't #afford a console. now all that is flushed in favor of ENHANCED RAY TRACING PORE DEFINING TEKNOLOGY in every big new game and it just is not #sustainable because they run like garbage unless you have spent minimum $1000 on components in the last ~2 years. and that's if you can have #the knowledge and skill to upgrade your own pc. which most people do not.#major dev studios have completely turned their backs on the concept of optimizing their games to be playable on many different systems #in favor of catering solely to the dwindling pool of gamers willing to shell out CONSTANTLY to keep up with the rapidly developing tech.#and that is on top of steadily rising base game prices + the utter hogwash of releasing a half-finished game for full price and then farming #the rest of it out piece-by-piece over the next two years for another $30 per chunk.#it's absurd.#ok this has been The Gamer Report with your host: me

this whole wireless earbuds research thing i had to go thru to get some ok wireless earbuds before college starts bc i keep putting my phone in my jean pockets and murdering wired earbuds reminded me i need to sit down and fix my sennheiser headphones someday because i love those beasts but one of the wires is :(

also just remembered about my "haunted" wireless headset which idk if ive ever talked about here. theyre fun! they used to be my dad's and they weren't working when I found them. i put them apart and fixed them and they have worked since but they have this charming sound effect that's like... as if you were hearing music in an empty room (slight echo)

There's a cdrom game from my childhood that I'll never find bc unfortunately 8bit computer games about spooky castles were really popular in the 90s

at this rate im gonna be on my 6 hour shift (two 3 hour lectures) on no sleep but thats ok i remembered to pack my lunch this time (^__^)b

#forgot my lunch at home after i put in the effort to pack it up and started crying at school 2 day ago b4 my mom texted me #n was like do u need me to buy u lunch again #so thats how im doing <- insane #i am actually doing better than i have been i think my meds finally calibrated to my brain again #performed mild system maintenance and updates (cleaned my room did my laundry)#also my computer scared the hell out of me bc it kept bluescreening. guess who on loop forgot to take it apart and clean it out !#for a year !#it was so dusty in there !#it took half an hour to clean all the parts !#now the fan makes no noise so like shes all better ^__^#just gotta get through monday <- i say this every week #i stay up till 7 doing a painting and i know my teacher is gonna give me like 70 on it but thats ok #the gamer speaks uwu

...yes, I have, and I'm 24. And for some reason I just wrote an essay in the tags about it.

Tag your age if you wanna bc I was just thinking about how I have used floppy disks before (I'm 25 and used them in elementary computer lab) but my 22 y.o. brother hasn't which is so weird to me like 3 years isn't a long time at all to me

#24. but like just as a “I like computers” thing. not as a “I've used this in a context that people outside of myself care about” context #like. i use a floppy disk to boot my 1997 Toughbook that doesn't have a working hdd so I have to load the system to 640 kb of ram from a usb #and. like. i collect them from teacher friends and see their students' assignments have been created by humans since before i was born #when the class went on a field trip to do research on the five computers in the library and find most of their info from the encyclopedias #the same World Books and Brittanica (we could only afford one copy of that one) that I used years later #and they typed it reverently into word processors my own classmates would never have heard of #and they hope that they've managed to translate the sum of the real and the personal into the quasi-professional capitalist dialect #the one that schools were made to sell as the better and truer English. the one that separates the privileged from the uncouth.#the language on the archived floppy disks (and zip drives. and cds. and drives that were actually floppy.) is the language of Google Docs #or Office365. or whatever people use to typeset LaTeX. all the places that even creation has been corporatized.#the language of students is and has always been the language of capitalist transliteration. and that's what you see on floppy disks.#but more important to me is what's on the index cards. what's in the literal margins. what's finding a home in the comments of GDocs.#it's been digitized now. held on the same corporate-capitalist system that calls for the transliteration. but there are always special words #because kids see what too many adults miss. that every single bit of it is bullshit. they'll pass notes. or leave comments.#and in the ever-changing lingo of the youth. we have a record: capital may dominate the professional space but it will never claim the heart #so yeah. i have used and treasured floppy disks as both storage and storytelling.#but I've used and loved far more index cards and sticky notes. and that's where my thought-history lives.
