Note
for the fic ask: 1 3 8
1. What's the fic you're most proud of?
forest in the desert (LA Confidential, Ed Exley/Jack Vincennes, 14.3k) has the grim distinction of having been the fic I loved the most riiiiight before all the shit came out about Kevin Spacey (including his actions while making that same fucking movie) so it's in shitty-actor purgatory now.
Technique-wise, I'm really proud of this is the hand (Black Mirror: Bandernsatch, Stefan Butler/Colin Ritman) -- it's a relatively short fic but written in CYOA/branching storyline format to mimic the game itself. It's not a sophisticated set of storylines or a complicated game but I had so much fun working it all out. It's playable in Twine! Imagine how many more of my unhinged projects could be Twine games too!
3. What fic are you emotionally attached to?
deep red bells (The Stand - Stephen King, Nadine Cross, 2.3k) is maybe the completed fic of my own I think about most often. I'd love to expand it but maybe it's fine as it is.
8. Does anyone in your personal life know you write fic? If not, would you tell anyone?
People I know from fandom IRL know I write fic (but generally don't read what I write, lol) and my older sister, who introduced me to fandom, definitely knows. My mother knows that my friends write fanfiction, but she writes original fiction and her opinion of fic is pretty low. She doesn't get why anyone wouldn't just make up something completely wholesale original in plot (she's a big plot-oriented person) and doesn't have much suspension of disbelief for stuff that from a fandom POV seems obvious to me. (Like "how is it possible that all the members of BTS are all gay in this zombie apocalypse RPF AU, that seems statistically unlikely", or "why do people enjoy this danmei if it doesn't accurately represent the experiences of gay and bisexual men in present-day China". Rigorous realism only, hdu.)

Reality (3) // Colin Ritman X Reader
A/N: Hey loves, I was busy with finals and everything is pain when I tried to edit the original for this and it fucking deleted itself on its own when I tried to edit it. I’m very upset and angry at tumblr for it but I guess I can’t do shit about it so I had to remake it entirely. Yay.
But this did give me a chance to remake this part into something better. It’s not as good as the original part, but it’s what I tried to make close to it. It was 1:00AM when it happened and I was too damn stressed, depressed and reading obsessed to even write it then so I’m writing it as finals are coming in soon. Anyone who loved the original, I am so sorry. You can blame tumblr for it.
REQUESTS ARE CLOSED BTW (FOR NOW)
Requested: Yes
Warnings: Drugs usage, cussing...oh and death

What seemed like forever, you and Colin made it to his flat building. It was big, definitely a place what someone as rich as Colin could afford. You wondered if he lived alone. Did he have someone living with him? Flat mate? Girlfriend? I hope not, you thought.
You were secretly hoping that he didn't have a girlfriend or wife. You never really heard about anything of Colin having a lover, but it wasn't like you had a chance with Colin. He focused on his video games and your main focus was your game.
The both of you took the lift up to his floor and you continued to follow him as the two of you walked through the halls. You looked down at the floor then over to the windows you passed by. You were on one of the top floors, making a large view of a lot of homes over the building. You weren't the biggest fans of heights, but continued to walk and said nothing anyway.
Upon reaching his flat, Colin grabbed his keys from his pocket and unlocked the door. He tossed his keys onto a side table right by the front door and you trailed from behind him, fidgeting with your sleeves.
Walking fully into the developer's home, you got a good look of the living room of it. It was what you expected, a regular home with styled walls, carpet and long couches.
After taking in the whole place, you noticed a small balcony with a woman with short, frizzled and fiery red hair standing in the middle of it, cradling a small baby. You titled your head in confusion and frowned a bit in disappointment. I guess he does have a lover, you thought to yourself.
Colin walked up to the red haired woman and slowly grabbed the baby from her arms. He bounced her lightly up and down and you almost gushed at the sight. He was so gentle with her, making you adore him even more.
"(Y/n), this is my sister, Kitty." Colin introduced you, not taking his eyes off of his baby girl for a moment. The fiery red head waved at you with a tiny smile on her face.
A wave of relief washed through you. You were mostly glad he wasn't in a relationship, still, your mind continued to persuade you that you had no chance.
"(Y/n) is Stefan's twin sister." Colin informed his sibling. Kitty made a hum noise in response.
"And this is Pearl," his baby, Pearl, reached one of her hands toward Colin. "Daddy's little legacy." Colin slightly smiled at the baby's action.
"(Y/n)'s in the hole, Kit." The blond informed the red head. Kitty nodded understandingly.
"Poor girl. You gonna get her out?" Kitty asked, her arms crossed. You looked down at the ground in a bit of shame.
"Yup."
Colin let Kitty take back Pearl and started to walk into another room. You looked over to Kitty and gave a shy smile, to which she returned. You were about to go follow Colin into the room he went into before you were stopped by the red head herself.
"You like him, don't you?" Kitty asked, a smirk plastered on her face, while yours immediately flushed red.
"W-what? H-How did you..?" You stuttered.
"I won't go all 'protective sister' on you. But just be careful with him, (Y/n)." She told you. You responded with a simple nod and left the room.
You went into the room where Colin entered and found him sitting on a white chair. In the opposite position was a long, curved and black couch. You noticed on one of his computer desks that there was a mug of tea sitting there.
"Grab a pew, love."
You shot your gaze over to him when he called you the nickname, and all he did was smile back at you. You brushed it off and grabbed the mug and sat in the middle of the black couch opposite to him.
You took a few small sips of tea before setting it on the table between the two of you. While you were doing that, Colin took out another cigar roll-up and lit it with a lighter. He took a pew puffs before leaning over and reached it out to you.
"Here." He said.
"O-oh..I haven't really ever..." You stuttered out, embarrassed.
"Come on." Colin pressed a bit.
Hesitantly, you grabbed the cancer stick from his hand, brushing yours lightly against his a bit, causing you to blush slightly. You ignored your feelings and put the cigar between your lips, taking a puff of it. You struggled to keep yourself together and started to cough almost immediately after you took it away from your lips.
"That's alright, love. You'll get the hang of that." Colin says while reaching into a small black box. What was up with him and calling you that?
You finally managed to calm yourself down and looked up to find Colin with his right index finger out to you with a little thin tablet thing on it, something you've never seen before.
"You want it?" He asked you.
"What-what is it?" You questioned him.
"It lets you see the bigger picture." He nodded towards it.
"I-I...I don't know..." You didn't know if you wanted it or not. You wanted help but you didn't know if having a strange thing you've never taken before was the best way.
"It'll help you understand." Colin explained.
"Do you want it? It's your choice." He asked you, once more.
Yes // No
"Y-yes." Shaking a bit, you grabbed the tablet from his middle finger and stared at it.
"Just watch me, darling." Your gaze followed back up to Colin and you watched at he moved his fingers beside his head, one which held his own thin tablet on his index finger, then opened his mouth wide and stuck his tongue to put the tablet onto it.
He closed his mouth and took the tablet with ease. Anxiously, you looked at him before opening your mouth to take your own. The tablet left a....strange taste in your mouth but you sucked it up and took it anyway.
"Now what?" You asked. He smiled.
"We wait."
Colin them stood up and walking behind the couch you were sitting on. He went over to a turntable and inserted a record. Once the needle hit the disc, music started to play softly throughout the room.
He sat back down onto his white chair and the two of you stared at each other before the drugs started to finally take effect. The posters on the walls began to move and the light hitting Colin's face flowed brighter in different colors.
"I think...I think it's working." Your mouth started to form into a large grin and you began laughing randomly.
"Don't worry, love. It gets better." Colin's face transformed into a wide smile once he heard you laughing. It was strange how it attracted him, your laugh wasn't like a high pitched girly laugh but it sounded like the laughs that Colin would hear from Stefan.
A few minutes later, you were touching a painting on the wall that looked like it was mixing in with water. Every time you touched the painted or blew on it, the painting would move and the colors of the painting would combine.
To say you were having a blast was not even close to what you were feeling. The stress and anxiety weighing on your shoulders took off and you felt like you were having fun. Then again, you were high.
"People think there's one reality, but there's loads of them, all snaking off like roots. And what we do on one path affects the others." You turned over to Colin and saw his expression was serious, almost like he was positive about what he was saying.
You sat on the black couch and started to stare at your hands. Every time you moved them, trails of colorful lines followed them, making you giggle to yourself. You continued waving your hands as Colin sat on the couch with you and ranted.
"There's messages in every game. Like PAC Man! You know what PAC stands for?" Suddenly, Colin stood up and paced back and forth.
"P-A-C. Program and Control. He's program and control man." Colin ranted and told you all about the 'real' world of PAC Man.
"It's all code. If you listen carefully, you can hear the numbers." Colin said, his forehead rested against his balcony glass door. You were now standing up, looking around the door and wobbling a bit. He turned over to you and continued.
"There's a cosmic flowchart that dictates where you can and can't go." All of sudden, Colin took off his glasses and grabbed your face in his hands.
You laughed at him, still in your high state. You grabbed his face as well and stared into his blue eyes. You caressed his cheeks and fought the urge to kiss him right there. Even if you did kiss him, there would be no chance he remembered it, right?
"Your eyes are so pretty." You stated. Colin said nothing but you saw the corners of his mouth rise a bit.
"I've given you the knowledge. I've set you free. Do you understand?" The blond asked. His eyes began to grow in size to you, probably because of your state. It startled you for a moment before you answered him.
"Yes...maybe...I don't know." You giggled. Your mind was making everything seem so fuzzy to you that you barely comprehended his question.
"I'll show you what I mean. Come with me, love." He let go of your face and opened his glass balcony door. Colin walked out and you followed from behind.
He stood on the right side of the balcony while you stood on the left, looking over the ledge in a bit of fear.
Stay still // Grab Colin's wrist
You grabbed onto Colin's wrist, as if it was an instinct or impulse that caused you to. You gripped his wrist tightly in order to comfort yourself from the view.
"We're on one path right now, you and me. And how one path ends is immaterial. It's how our decisions along the path the whole that matters. Do you believe me?" Your gaze switched over to him.
"I-I don't know..." You responded, still smiling despite the situation.
"I'll prove it. One of us, is going over. Over there." The game developer pointed his arm over the ledge and your eyes widened, your smile dropping. With a sharp turn of your head, you gazed at him with searing fear in your eyes.
"No-no no no! Y-You'll die! You'll die!" You cried out.
"It wouldn't matter because there are other timelines, (Y/n)!" Colin said, as if it was a matter of fact. Your heart was doing flips and you began to feel sick to the stomach.
"Dammit Colin, when I asked for help I didn't mean this! I don't wanna do this." You practically begged him.
"Love, how many times have you watched PAC Man die? Doesn't bother him." He shrugged, as if it fixed the whole situation. "He just tries again."
"C-Colin..."
"One of us is jumping. So who's it gonna be?"
Your mind and mouth both contemplated your next words.
"It's a nice breeze up here." Colin said, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"Come on, love. Which one of us is jumping?" He asked once more.
(Y/n) // Colin
"I'll do it." You decided.
"I like your style. Are you sure, love?" Colin smirked before checking with you.
"Y-Yes." You stuttered a bit. Finally realizing what choice you made, you forced yourself onto the ledge of the balcony, almost falling over in the process.
You gasped out in surprise but never the less, started to laugh incoherently. Colin watched as you pushed yourself up and his mind started to sober up, but not enough to make him realize what was going on.
"Colin." You turned towards him and grabbed onto the collar of his shirt.
"Yes, (Y/n)?" He stared into your (e/c) eyes.
Kiss him // Say goodbye
"Kiss me before I jump."
-x-x-x-
"Hello, Kitty."
"Hello, Stefan! Are you here for (Y/n)?" Kitty asked.
"No, actually. I'm here to ask something from Colin. But (Y/n) is here?" Stefan questioned, his brow furrowed.
"Yeah. He's getting her out of the hole." Stefan froze. He knew of Colin's ways of helping people out of the hole. They weren't exactly good ways.
"Where are they?"
-x-x-x-
"Kiss me before I jump." You asked of him, still hanging on the ledge but not bothering to look away from his eyes that glowed in the light.
"Sure thing."
You leaned down and pressed your lips against Colin's own and closed your eyes. You tilted your head for easier access for Colin and he found himself easing into the kiss as well, putting his right hand on your cheek to pull you closer to him. Your lips fit together almost perfectly, as if they were made for each other. Finally, you unwillingly pulled away from the sweet kiss and looked into his blue eyes.
"See you in the next reality." You grinned at him. He returned it.
"In the next reality."
You let go of the ledge and leaped over it to fall your way to your death. Colin watched as your body landed on top of a large crate, blood spilling out from your body. You killed yourself for the man who had taken your heart.
The sound of your body hitting the bottom sobered Colin up completely. He glanced at your body on top of the crate and stared at it. No other emotion shown on his face but sadness and regret.
Just then, the sound of slow footsteps from behind him caused him to look up, but not at the person.
"Colin. Where is my sister?"
...
...
"Colin what did you do?!

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch/Colin Ritman imagine - Noticed
Tumblr media
AN: Well since no one else is writing for my man I might as well. Also I literally spent like 4 hours watching Bandersnatch to get all the endings so love my life.
Summary: You’re Stefan’s twin sister and what you thought would be one quick errand to help Stefan actually turned out to be the best thing that happened to you because that’s when you met Colin Ritman...
Pairing(s): Colin Ritman x Reader, Stefan x Sister!Reader
Word count: 2,411
Warnings: This is smut. Strong language. Office/public s e x. Rough s e x. Choking.
Today was the day that your brother was actually going to to Tuckersoft. You watched him leave for the bus from your bedroom window as you listened to your father washing the dishes downstairs.
You walked into his room and stopped in front of his desk. You looked over to your right to see the family photo sitting on a shelf and you quickly looked away. You didn’t like looking at pictures of your mother, it brought up bad memories. You never understood how Stefan could have that picture in his room.
You looked down to see Stefan had left his notebook with all his notes on his desk and you debated for a moment whether he would need it or not for today. You figured it was better safe than sorry and after all that's what you were for since the death of your mum. You were always looking out for your brother.
You took to the streets and caught the next bus to the new Tuckersoft building.
You were surprised they let you inside and up to the office floor when all you said was that you were Stefan Butler’s sister. No proof of ID or anything. Clearly they were a pretty trusting company.
You walked across the large office floor to see Stefan about to enter an office behind two men and so you called out his name.
“Stefan!” You picked up your pace as you strode across the floor to reach him and he turned around at the mention of his name.
“(Y/n), what-what are you doing here?” He asked, obviously a little confused that his sister had followed him.
“You forgot your notebook and I didn’t know if you needed it but I thought better safe than sorry.” You rambled quickly as you thrusted the book into his hand.
“Thanks.” Stefan nodded.
“Who’s this Stefan?” The older one of the two men behind Stefan pushed his way through the door and smiled at you as he adjusted his blazer.
“Um, this is my...my sister, (Y/n).” Stefan introduced you. “(Y/n), this is Mr Thakur.”
“Sister?” Thakur rose his eyebrows at Stefan.
“Are you twins?” A voice rose from behind Stefan. The blonde boy whom which the voice came from leant against the door frame as he looked at you. For the matter of fact, he hadn’t taken his eyes off you since you made your presence known.
“Um, yeah. How did you know?” Stefan asked as he clutched his notebook between his hands.
“Lucky guess.” The boy stated, his eyes still locked on you. There was a split second before he offered his hand. “Colin.”
You stepped forward and took it, your eyes finally meeting Colin’s properly.
“Alright, well, thanks for bringing Stefan’s book but we have a meeting to do.” Thakur brought the attention back to him as he clapped his hands together.
“Right, I’m sorry. Stefan, do you want me to wait?” You asked, dropping your eyes from Colin’s.
“––No.”
“––Yes.” Colin answered as Stefan did. There was a pause as Stefan and you both looked back at Colin. Colin cleared his throat and stepped back into the office with a swing.
“Nice to meet you.” Thakur took your hand and shook it as he winked before they all dispersed into the office.
You decided to wait.
You sat on one of the chairs in a little empty cubicle and waited.
You get bored quickly and you didn’t know how to long the meeting was going to actually be so you decided to find the bathroom. You hadn’t really made the best effort on your appearance as you were just there to drop off a book and you wanted to see if you could fix the mess that was your hair before they finished the meeting.
As you returned from eventually finding a bathroom, you saw Stefan and Colin at his desk. Stefan was writing something down before he took off.
You made yourself known by walking up the Colin’s desk.
“Thought you’d left.” Colin stated, pulling out a pouch of tobacco and some papers.
“Well, you told me to wait.” You said innocently as you folded your arms across your chest.
Colin's eyes flicked up, peering over his glasses, at you as he studied your face from a moment.
You tucked a strand of hair behind your ear and shuffled on your feet.
“So, did he get it?” You asked, referring to your brother.
“He did.” Colin finally looked away and started to roll his cigarette.
“So, does that give me an excuse to come visit you again then?” You thought fuck it and tried to flirt.
“He’s going to work on it at home.” Colin told you. You couldn’t hide your facial expression as you frowned.
“Oh.” You nodded your head and went to walk away.
“I didn’t say you couldn’t come again.” Colin admitted causing you to turn around and face him again.
You let a small smile across your face before leaving the building, hoping to catch up to your brother.
You visited Colin every day for the next week, he showed you how he programmed his video games and some of the other ideas he had for future games. He even let you try the finished product of ‘Metl Hedd’. He told Thakur that you were a game whizz like your brother and that you were helping him but in reality he just wanted to spend time with you, he did need to finish his games and he also needed an excuse to keep Thakur off his back about it so it worked.
Nothing had happened between the two of you but your crush was becoming more and more evident to yourself. You had to admit he was attractive and intelligent but when you first met him you didn’t think much else of it and now you were rushing out of the house to get to the Tuckersoft building.
“Morning.” You placed a coffee down on Colin’s desk as you approached him staring intently at his screen.
“Morning.” He mumbled.
“What you doing?” You asked before sipping a mouthful of your own drink.
“I think I finally fixed that error.” Colin sat back and picked up the coffee cup before taking a swig. “Have a go.” He told you.
You didn’t even realise what you had done until you did it as you took a seat on his lap to get to his computer.
You swallowed as you clicked the keyboard to run the game as you then became very aware of what you had done.
Colin was taken back by your action as well however he couldn’t help but like that you did it as it meant something was actually going to happen. He knew you were interested in him, why else would you bother him so often but he didn’t know what would come of it.
He shifted under you slightly but hovered his fingers on your hip lightly to reassure you that you didn’t have to get off.
Your eyes flickered down to his touch and you felt your heart flip in your chest.
You started to play the game however after the first level it crashed again.
“Shit.” Colin leant forward, fully placing his hand on your waist as used his free hand to type some coding into the computer on your left.
“What happened?” You asked.
“It didn’t transition correctly into the second round. Hop off for a tic.” Colin tapped you lightly and you jumped off his lap. Your heart going from your throat back to your chest where it belonged
And that was the first time you and Colin had any physical interaction.
A month went by of you visiting Colin and your brother was working harder than ever locked away in his room on his game to notice.
You walked into the Tuckersoft building, everyone knew you by then, and you greeted people as you made your way up to Colin’s floor.
“Morning Tom.” You smiled at one of the sound programmers as you passed him in the hallway.
It was one of the hottest days that summer so you wore a dress for once.
Colin’s head turned at the sound of your voice as you greeted the worker and his eyes stuck to you like glue once he caught a glimpse of how you looked.
Your hair was up but some wisps had strayed out the back and stuck to your neck from the heat of the morning. Your lips were wet from the ice tea you picked up on the way there and the hem of your dress brushed against your thighs as you shuffled on your feet.
You turned to him as you made your way over and you smiled.
Colin looked you up and down again when you stood in front of him.
There was a moment where you just furrowed your eyebrows at the boy in confusion of why he was staring at you like the way he was.
Colin pulled the unlit fag from his lips and tossed onto the desk before he took your hand and dragged you down the hall.
“Colin?” You laughed as he stormed away with you.
Colin opened the door to one of the supply cupboards and backed inside it. He pulled you towards him and within a second his lips were on yours. His hand cupped the side of your jaw as he kissed you with a hunger that literally took your breath away.
Colin pulled away from you to close the door and you took the time to breathe. He dropped his hands to your waist as he guided you to a tall pile of boxes. They were study, full of books and stationary, strong enough to hold you and Colin knew this.
He lifted you up onto the boxes and let his hands push the hem of your skirt up as he ran his hands along your thighs.
The excitement bubbled in your stomach as his hands moved further up your thighs. You dropped your hands from his neck to his waist and Colin took the hint. He quickly started to undo his belt and pulled it from his trousers.
He undid his trousers, you pulled your chest closer to his; pressing your body tight against him.
You started to trail a kiss down his neck and you heard a low groan erupt from his lips as he winced in desperation. He wrapped his hand around your throat, underneath your jaw and brought your face back to his own. He took his throbbing member into his hand from his boxers before lining it up to your entrance, pushing your panties aside with his fingers.
He pulled back and searched your eyes for permission. His eyes filled with a dark lust that only made you want him more.
“Colin.” You begged quietly as you tightened your grip on the boys shirt.
Colin wasted no time as he thrusted inside of you causing you to gasp sharply and dig your nails into the boy. He held on as he waited for you to adjust to his size. His hot breath against your cheek as he waited for a signal to get on with it.
You bit down on your lip, giving yourself a second to relax, then you moved back and captured his lips in your own again.
Colin started to thrust hard against you, one of his arms wrapped securely around your back to keep your body tight against his.
You couldn’t help your shaky breaths as you gripped onto the boys hair and shirt. Your whole body jolted with the force of Colin pumping inside and out of you. His thick member filling you with each pump and the rough material of his t-shirt brushing against your clit.
“Colin... fuck...” You moaned, Colin shushed you and wrapped his hand around your throat again to keep you quiet.
You clenched your jaw as the rough dominant nature of him drew you closer to climax.
Colin grunted as he could feel you grow tighter around him as your orgasm was approaching.
He picked up his pace for those final moments, squeezing your throat slightly and soon you were over the edge, pulsing around his member as he rode you through your climax. He continued until he was also at the very edge before pulling out and covering your thigh with his cum.
You both stood there, breathing heavily, just looking at each other. You smiled at him and shook your head.
“What was that for?” You asked.
“Because of this.” He said very seriously as he took your dress in between his thumb and index finger.
“I guess I’ll be wearing this again then.”You smirked.
Just then there were voices outside the cupboard which made both yours and Colin’s head shoot towards the door.
You felt your heart stop until footsteps lead to them walking away.
You then swiftly took off your panties and cleaned yourself up with them so that you could both leave the supply cupboard.
You walked back to Colin’s desk as if nothing had happened or at least tried to make it look that way.
Colin cleared his throat as he sank down into his chair.
You leant against his desk and picked up his ball of elastic bands, playing with it. Colin smirked at you, knowing full well that you no longer had panties on and that would make this day very interesting.
As the evening drew in and almost all members of staff left the building, you and Colin were left alone on his floor. You leant down over the desk as you stared at one of the computer screens, Colin had done a sweep of the floor to make sure you were alone but he just told you that he was looking for Thakur.
As he returned, he came up behind you and placed his hand under your dress, cupping you from behind.
“Round two?” He questioned, cocking his eyebrows at you via the computer screen as you shut it down.
You span around and wrapped your hands around the back of his neck with a mischievous smile.
“Now?” You asked, acting all innocent for the fun of it.
Colin lifted you onto the desk, moving the keyboard aside as he did.
“Now.” He nodded, moving in between your thighs and enclosing you in a kiss.
AN: Hope you enjoy this you dirty sinners ;)

Not Here (Colin Ritman X Reader) {SMUT}
Tumblr media
Fandom: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch Pairing: Colin Ritman X Reader Word Count: 1,724 Warning: This contains EXPLICIT sexual content! Do not read if you’re uncomfortable with that! Also I’m still not great at writing smut so please be gentle with me (this is also my first fic in a few months). <3 Author's Note: This was written for several people: myself and my sister because we love Will Poulter, and @tricksters-captain who wrote an AMAZING Colin fic that you all should go read!! Also: Kitty and Pearl do not exist in this fic (:
You knocked on the door to the conference room, carefully balancing the tray of coffee in your arms.
The door swung open after a moment, and you were greeted with the sight of Colin's blonde hair rushing by you before he sat down again.
“Thank you, Colin.” You said politely before placing a coffee in front of him. He tipped his head in thanks.
You handed one to Mr. Thakur before handing the others to the other programmers who were sitting around the large table.
“If you need anything else, just let me know.” You encouraged before shutting the door behind you and making your way back to your desk.
The next few hours were uneventful as you took calls and made appointments for Mr. Thakur. Colin approached you around lunch time.
“Can you run and get me a sandwich from next door?” Colin asked, grabbing some bills from his wallet.
“Of course. What kind do you want?”
“I'll take a regular turkey with a bag of crisps. And whatever you want.”
Your cheeks flushed. “You don't have to buy me lunch, Colin.”
He smiled at you. “I know I don't have to, but I want to.”
“Thank you.” You replied as you grabbed your purse and the money from his outstretched hand. “I'll be back in a jiffy.”
------
You returned with the food, but when you went to Colin's desk, you were surprised to see that he wasn't there. Assuming he went to the toilet, you placed his sandwich, crisps, and drink on his desk, along with the money that had been left over.
Then you went back to your desk with your own sandwich, deciding you would work on some paperwork when you ate so you didn't have to do it later.
You had just settled down comfortably in your chair when you felt a pair of hands pulling your legs apart.
You jumped and opened your mouth to scream when you glanced under your desk and saw that it was Colin.
“Col? What are you doing?” You hissed, trying to pull your skirt back down.
“What does it look like I'm doing?” He asked teasingly, running his hands up and down your thighs.
“Trying to get us both fired.” You said, rolling your eyes. “We agreed that we'd be professional at work.”
“Actually, love, you agreed. I just sat there silently.”
“Colin if you do not get out from under my desk right now I'm going to murder you.”
Colin opened his mouth to respond, but he was surprised when you suddenly rolled your chair closer to him.
“Hi, Mr. Thakur.” You greeted politely and too loudly so that Colin could hear. His mouth snapped shut immediately.
“__y/n__, do you know where Colin is? I can't find him anywhere.”
Colin decided that was the perfect moment to pull your underwear to the side and begin licking at your folds.
“I'm not sure, when I dropped his lunch off at his desk he wasn't there. Maybe he's in the loo.” You lied, grateful that your voice hadn't shaken.
Mr. Thakur frowned. “Alright, thank you. If you see him, tell him I'm looking for him.”
“Of course.”
Mr. Thakur walked back to his office, and you slumped down in your seat as you breathed out a sigh of relief.
That was a mistake as it allowed Colin to pull you even closer to him and his tongue to slide deeper inside of you.
“Colin-” You started sternly, the words dying in your throat as Colin slipped a finger inside of you alongside his tongue.
You were torn between allowing Colin to finish what he was doing because he was excellent at making you cum, dragging him to the nearest closet and begging him to fuck you, and insisting he get out from underneath your desk and making him wait until you got home to finish your activities.
“Colin, c'mon, can't you wait until we're home?” You tried to be rational. You didn't want to be fired, but more than that, you didn't want Colin to be fired. He loved his job.
Colin pulled away from you with a pop. “Why should I have to when my girlfriend is right here?”
“Because it's inappropriate.”
Colin rubbed his thumb against your clit in slow circles as he looked up at you with a very exaggerated frown.
You fought to keep your breath steady.
“Would it make you feel better if we went somewhere more private?” Colin asked, removing his hand and smoothing your underwear back in place before adjusting your skirt.
“If you mean somewhere more private like home, then yes. You are not fucking me in a closet.”
“But you want me to.” Colin stated. It wasn't a question, he just knew you too well.
“No I don't.” You insisted, like a liar.
Colin chuckled, and in one smooth motion he had climbed out from underneath your desk, grabbed your hand, and began dragging you into a nearby supply closet.
Once Colin had shut the door behind you, you smacked his shoulder. “You are in so much trouble when we get home.” You hissed.
“You worry too much, love.” Colin insisted before pressing you against the wall and kissing you deeply.
You broke the kiss to murmur “You don't worry enough.” before relaxing into the kiss. You finally decided that if Colin wasn't going to back down, you should at least enjoy yourself.
Colin just chuckled as his fingers trailed down from your hip to your ass, where he squeezed roughly. “Maybe if you would stop wearing such tight skirts to work I would be able to wait until we got home for this.”
You narrowed your eyes at him, even as you worked on unbuttoning his slacks. “So now you're saying this is my fault?”
Colin groaned as you pushed his trousers down and slipped a hand into his boxers. “I'm just saying that it's your fault that you're so hot.” He said, trying to recover.
You rolled your eyes before unzipping your skirt and stepping out of it and your panties. You weren't going to risk staining them when you still had to wear them for several more hours.
Colin hoisted you into his arms and pressed you firmly into the wall once again. He teased his cock along your dripping slit.
“Colin, we're on a bit of a time crunch here, can you please hurr-” Colin cut off your complaint by sliding into you quickly.
You both moaned quietly.
You wrapped your arms around Colin's neck and pulled him into a rough kiss. Colin began fucking into you earnestly, and you fought the urge to moan more loudly, remembering that you were at work and you shouldn't be doing this at all.
You couldn't deny though that it made the sex that much hotter. Someone could walk in at any moment and find the two of you shagging in the closet like you were horny teenagers, and the thought just made you wetter.
Colin knew this and decided to exploit this.
“Can you believe how hard those blokes in the office would get if they saw me fucking you like this?”
“Colin,” You moaned quietly, sneaking a hand in between you so you could rub your clit while he fucked you.
“You look so hot taking my cock in this tiny closet, baby. Bet you wish you could be as loud as you are at home.”
“Yes.” You whined, gasping as Colin’s thrusts became even faster. You could tell he was getting close.
“Don't worry, love, when I get you home I'll fuck you again and then you can be as loud as you want.”
“Baby, kiss my neck, please.” You begged, and Colin did so immediately. The feeling of Colin's lips sucking and biting along your throat, paired with the way his cock was fucking in and out of you and the way your fingers were flying on your clit had you cumming around his cock with a quiet moan.
Your whole body trembled as you reached your peak. Colin helped you to the ground before pulling out of you and gently pushing you to your knees. You went willingly, opening your mouth immediately and allowing him to stick his cock in your mouth.
You took as much of him in your mouth as you could, swirling your tongue around his shaft as he carefully fucked into your mouth.
Colin had already been close, so it only took a few more thrusts before he was spilling down your throat with a groan. You swallowed it all, still gently sucking on him until he tapped you on the shoulder and you let him pull out.
You climbed to your feet and pulled your underwear and skirt back on before attempting to straighten out your blouse and fix your hair.
“Hey,” Colin said as he finished tucking himself back into his boxers and rebuttoning his trousers. “Thank you for indulging me. I love you.”
You gave him a sweet smile, your orgasm having zapped any remaining annoyance you had for him. “I love you too. And you're welcome. It was fun.” You kissed him once more. “But just so you know, we are NEVER doing this again.”
“Aw, c'mon, love, it was-”
You slipped out of the closet without letting Colin finish talking and made your way back to your desk without being spotted by anyone.
You chuckled as Colin walked by your desk and you realized that he looked far more fucked out than you did.
His hair was a mess, his cheeks were deeply flushed, his glasses were foggy, and his trousers were wrinkled.
You blew him a kiss before finally beginning to eat your sandwich.
“Where the hell have you been?” Mr. Thakur asked as he rounded the corner and spotted Colin. He actually sounded less annoyed than you expected him to.
“I was doing stuff.”
You nearly choked on your sandwich as Colin winked at you over Mr. Thakur's shoulder.
You prayed he didn't notice it, and you were incredibly relieved as Mr. Thakur just wrapped an arm around his shoulder and steered him towards his office.
“Anyways Colin, I had this idea…”
Their voices faded out as they stepped into Mr. Thakur's office.
Colin was so going to get it when you got home.
End. <3

talk to me like lovers do
Tumblr media
Pairing: Colin Ritman x Reader
Words: 1,544
Request: idk if you’re still taking colin requests but could you write one where colin has a huge crush on the reader and colin tries to be really lowkey about but it’s just SO obvious?? (:
Note: i plan on writing a part two to this (which will be smut)!! let me know what you think, hope i stayed close to the request. Requests are open.
Colin's staring at you, again; not that you notice. You're unaware of every gentle touch of your hip, every brush of his hand against yours. "Can you help me with this, Y/N?" He asks, pulling you out of your trance. Colin rarely asks for your help, usually just wanting your opinion on certain parts of a game he's working on. You nod, getting up from your chair and walking over to his side of the desk, leaning down to look at the screen.
"What's wrong with it?" You ask, leg bumping into the chair as you try to get a better look at the screen.
"I don't know." He says, truthfully. Usually he can easily identify a mistake he's made, but ever since you've begun working beside him, it's been harder to focus. He could focus, if he wanted. He could put on his headphones, fall into his projects, but he finds watching you while you work far more entertaining. The way you'd bite your lip in frustration, plucking at stray strings on your shirt when you lost focus. Colin shook his thoughts away. It was almost embarrassing how obvious his feelings were for you, yet you still remained unaware.
You give him a questioning look as you lean over him to fix his code, typing in the easy fix like it was nothing. "Losing your charm, Ritman." You teased, pressing the run button and watching the game come back to life. "There you go." You tell him, but you don't move away from his desk, instead turning around and leaning against the desk, half-sitting on it.
He rolls his eyes, testing the game after your small fix. "Oh, piss off." The words are light, making another laugh fall from your lips. He can't help but look up at you. The two of you have always been the best developers at Tuckersoft, he was happy to have a friendship with you instead of a competition. He always trusted your opinion, always appreciated your help.
The two of you keep eye contact, a brightness lighting behind your eyes. You were always so carefree, so easy to get along with. You were different, too. You seemed to understand Colin in a way no one else could. Sure, your personalities could be conflicting at times, Colin more suspicious of the world while you had such a trusting view of it, but it didn't stop the two of you from clicking. You would stay late at night with Colin, taking drags off his cigarettes as he ranted about his theories, never fighting about them, instead asking him questions, nodding along. His feelings couldn't help blossoming for you, after so many late nights. You were intelligent, funny, so easy to get along with and so easy to fall for. God, he sounded like an idiot, but looking up at your bright eyes, he couldn't help, but trust you, trust the world that you saw through your eyes.
He thinks maybe now is the time to ask you, for real. You already had something, there was something there, whether you saw it or not. "Do you-" Colin's words are cut off by Thakur yelling your name.
"These games don't code themselves!" He eyes both you and Colin. You roll your eyes, walking back around the desk to pick up where you left off.
He almost lets out an audible sigh before turning back to his computer. Another time. He places his headphones back over his ears, drowning himself in the project, in the coding.
Colin's been working for hours, he barely took notice of how dark it was outside. The only lights coming from the office were his computer and yours, he checked the time on the clock on his desk, 1 AM. He shakes the tiredness away from his body, rubbing at his eyes quickly before pulling off his headphones. Sure, he stayed late, but this was a stretch. He stands from his chair, glancing over to your seat, finding it empty. You've never left without saying goodbye, but he was so absorbed by the game, he wouldn't have noticed if you left. He shrugs, walking to the break room to get himself a coffee before he headed home.
You're standing at the counter, stirring a packet of sugar into your coffee when he comes up behind you, reaching beside you to grab a paper cup. You jump away from him, holding a hand to your chest. You felt like the office was dead, Colin so absorbed in his coding, you didn't think he'd get up to find you. "You scared me!" You yell, willing your heart to stop beating so fast, but it won't work, not with Colin around.
"You were just up in space." He tells you, tapping his finger against his forehead gently before turning to the coffee maker to pour himself a warm, black cup of coffee. "What are you still doing here, anyway?" He asks, not knowing about your new project. Usually you both stayed late if you were working together on something.
The cup of coffee meets your lips as you shrug, still holding his gaze from over the rim of your cup. "Didn't wanna go home."
A laugh escapes his lips, bringing the hot coffee to his lips despite the temperature of it. "Like work more than home, now?"
"Don't you?" You tease, referring to all the nights he's been here with you, all the nights he's skipped dinner and sleep, just to work. He loves his job, so do you.
"Sometimes." He tells you, leaving it at that. He likes to work at home when he needs the quiet, but lately, he likes having your company. He takes a long look at you, noticing the dark circles under your eyes and the tired look in your eyes. "Why not go home and get some rest?"
You set your coffee cup back down on the counter, leaning your hip against it as you look up at him with a sleepy look in your eyes. "Oh, I'm fine. I don't mind keeping you company."
The look on your face, your words, they almost make him lean in to kiss you, but he's not impulsive. "I never asked you to keep me company." The words aren't harsh, just stating a fact. He takes a sip of his coffee, enjoying how close you're leaning.
A smile graces your lips, your tired body leaning closer to his. "I want to." You shrug, eyes locking with his own. You're never so forward with Colin. You wanted to keep things easy, for the most part. It's far too late for you to be up, you haven't stayed this late at work in a while. Your brain is cloudy, filled with thoughts of Colin and kissing him, having him take you on the desk right now, but maybe the small space between you is enough.
Colin sets down his coffee, eyebrows raised from the look in your eyes. "Do you need me to walk you home? It's late."
You don't know if his words have other intentions, but you'd enjoy the company, you always enjoy his company. "Sure. Let me go grab my stuff."
The two of you walk back into the office, saving your work, turning off the computers, before you exit together. The cold wind blows in your face, you pull your jacket around you, tighter. He follows beside you, the temperature not seeming to bother him at all.
It doesn't take long to reach your apartment, conversation always flowed so easily between the two of you, even if there wasn't anything to talk about, the silence was calming. Colin follows you up to your floor, stopping with you as you fumble for your keys, trying to get the key in the lock. You glance at Colin before you open the door. "You can come in, if you want." You add, pushing the door open.
He doesn't answer instead following you into your apartment, looking around, getting a taste of what you're like away from work. He wants to walk over to your records, sift through them, but he can't take his eyes off of you. You turn towards him, eyebrows raised. "Not what you expected?"
"It's nice." He answers, plainly.
You laugh, moving closer to him again. You haven't even taken your coat off, yet, not even your shoes, but you've been dying to kiss him, all night. The whole time you've known him, it seems like the only thought in your head. He's mysterious and alluring, confident, he's sweet, funny. You get along so well. You can't help it, you lean up to press your lips against his.
Colin didn't expect it, but he didn't let that throw him off. As soon as your lips touched his, he was returning the kiss, hands gently gripping your waist. He thought about it for so long. You pull away after a moment, the kiss didn't last long, but you needed to breathe. You look up into his eyes, your heart catching in your chest. "Do you wanna stay over? It's late."
He doesn't answer the question instead leaning down to capture your lips in his again, hands sliding to push the coat off your shoulders.

Sucking off Colin Ritman while he’s working on his new game….that’s it….that’s my scenario request 😋
hell yeah, sure thang. sorry it's so short, but hope you enjoy nonetheless
Warnings: SMUT (MINORS DNI), oral (m!receiving)
914 Words🤙🏻
~~~~~~~~~~
You could hear Colin groaning in frustration from the sitting room. He had been trying to work on his new game all day and was starting to feel stuck. You felt for him, you really did. You didn’t know the tediousness and intricacies of making a game, nor did you want to.
Seeing how tired your boyfriend was all the time did not make you envious of his position. You just wished you could help him. Somehow. To relieve at least a little bit of his stress…
Then an idea sparked in your head on how to do exactly that.
You gently knocked and entered Colin’s home office, wearing a sympathetic smile on your face. “Not going so well?”
“This goddamn code doesn’t wanna work for me today.” He huffed, tightening his fists in order to keep himself from smashing his keyboard.
You walked up behind him, wrapping your arms around him and resting your head on his shoulder. “I’m sorry, darling.” You rubbed up and down his upper arms, lightly kissing his neck and adding pressure little by little till he sighed. “Maybe you should take a break for a bit? Clear your head?”
“My head’s never clear, I’m afraid. I just gotta carry on, it’ll never get done if I keep taking breaks.”
You frowned slightly, a wrench thrown in your plans. You’d just have to improvise. “Okay then, keep working.” You lowered to your knees, Colin watching you crawl underneath his desk with a confused but amused expression.
“And where are you going then?” He chuckled.
“Nothing.” Your voice echoed from under the desk, situating yourself in between Colin’s legs and rubbing your hands along his thighs. You smirked when you heard him make a surprised noise when you started palming him through his trousers.
“Oi, what do you think you’re doing, love?” He asked darkly, his lowered voice sending a shiver down your spine and made your clit pulse with arousal.
“Don’t mind me, just keep working. Don’t let me distract you.” You stifled a giggle, undoing the zipper and button on his pants, slowly taking his cock out.
Colin let out a shaky exhale as you lightly fisted his cock, grinning proudly at yourself for your ability to make him hard instantly. “I don’t think I’d be able to concentrate when you’re doing that. Oh-!” He yelped as you took the tip of him into your mouth, letting your saliva drip down his dick and using it to pump the rest of him slowly. He slowly lolled his head back up towards the ceiling, letting out a throaty groan as you took all of him as much as you could, the tip hitting the back of your mouth briefly.
“Continue working…” You smirked from underneath his desk, continuing to bob your head up and down his length as you heard him continue to tap on his keyboard with heavy panting breaths.
Colin tried his best to work on that stupid game, but you were making him feel so good he could barely register what he was doing. He definitely was not making progress on the game. He tried to shake his head to get himself to focus, managing to code for twenty seconds at the very least before you started massaging his balls. “Fuck…” He stuttered, his toes curling and clenching his fists, moaning as he grabbed the back of your head to encourage you to move faster.
“Done with the game?” You teased with a giggle, gasping as Colin forced you out from under his desk, making you kneel before him where you were visible, finally seeing his flustered face.
“Fuck that game. It can wait.” He huffed, pushing your head back down to his aching cock and groaning loudly as you continued to suck him off faster. “Goddamn, you know exactly what I need all the time, don’t you, darling?”
“I try.” You smiled up at him, keeping eye contact with him with tears in your eyes from gagging on his dick, the sight making Colin’s cock twitch in your mouth. “Close, baby?” You teased.
“Yes…” He panted, his eyebrows knitting together as he bucked up into your mouth.
“Come for me, darling.” You spoke breathlessly, moaning around his cock and eagerly awaiting for his climax, unable to stop yourself as you started to touch yourself while you pleasured him.
“Oh, fuck-!” He groaned, his release painting your tongue and hitting the back of your throat. You pulled off of him to show you his cum on your tongue, smiling as you swallowed every last drop. Colin bit his lip at the sight, looking down on you with a blissed out expression.
“Satisfied?” You grinned, standing up and hovering over his slouched figure in his chair, kissing him softly.
“Even more so.” He whispered, grabbing your hips to pull you in between his legs. “You didn’t have to do that for me, you know?”
You nodded. “I know, but I wanted to. You deserve a bit of stress relief, especially from this job.”
Colin pinched your side, eliciting a squeal from you. “Well, now I want to return the favour.” He smirked.
“You don't have to.”
“I know, but I want to. Now go to the bedroom while I finish up here.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Is that an order, Mr. Ritman?”
You moaned as he smacked your ass, his expression turning very serious. “It is. Go now. Or else I won’t be so kind tonight.”
“Promise?”
Hey, do you think there’s one reality?
Because people think there’s one reality, But there’s loads of them all snaking off like roots. And what we do on one path effects what happens on other paths. Time is a construct. People think you can’t go back and change things but you can. That’s what flashbacks are. They’re invitations to go back and make different choices. When you make a decision you think it’s you doing it but it’s not. It’s the spirit out there that’s connected to our world that decides what we do. And we just have to go along for the ride. Mirrors let you move through time. The government monitors people. They pay people to pretend to be your relatives and they put drugs in your food and they film you. There’s messages in every game. Like Pacman. Do you know what pac stands for? PAC. Program and control. He’s program and control man. The whole thing’s a metaphor. He think’s he’s got free will but really, he’s trapped in a maze. In a system. All he can do is consume. He’s pursued by demons… that are probably just in his own head. And even if he does manage to escape by slipping out one side of the maze, what happens? He comes right back in the other side. People think it’s a happy game. It’s not a happy game it’s a fucking nightmare world and the worst thing is it’s real and we’re living in it.
hey are you bandersnatch because Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is a 2018 interactive film in the science fiction anthology series Black Mirror. It was written by series creator Charlie Brooker and directed by David Slade. The film premiered on Netflix on 28 December 2018, its release date only officially announced the day before. Netflix did not confirm the interactive nature of Bandersnatch until its release, though there was much media speculation. In Bandersnatch, viewers make decisions for the main character, the young programmer Stefan Butler (Fionn Whitehead), who is adapting a fantasy gamebook into a video game in 1984. Other characters include Mohan Thakur (Asim Chaudhry) and Colin Ritman (Will Poulter), who work at a video game company; Stefan's father, Peter (Craig Parkinson); and Stefan's therapist, Dr. Haynes (Alice Lowe). A postmodernist work with free will as a central theme, the film was named after a real video game planned for release by Imagine Software in 1984, the game in turn named after the bandersnatch, a creature of Lewis Carroll's creation. Brooker and executive producer Annabel Jones were approached by Netflix about making an interactive film in May 2017, during which time Netflix had several such projects for children underway. Difficulty in writing the highly non-linear script led to Netflix's creation of a bespoke program called Branch Manager; the unique nature of the content required adaptations in the platform's use of cache memory. Bandersnatch was originally to be part of Black Mirror's fifth series, but its lengthy production led to its release as a standalone film, delaying the fifth series to June 2019. Critical reception was mixed, with a positive response to the technical design of the film but criticism of the story's characterisation. There was mixed commentary about the narrative and the extent to which viewer choices affected the story. The film received average rankings in critics' lists of Black Mirror instalments by quality, but garnered numerous awards and nominations, winning two Primetime Emmy Awards. A lawsuit filed by Chooseco over the film's use of the term "choose-your-own-adventure" was filed in January 2019 and settled in November 2020.
I’ve started doing the most complicated Black Mirror Bandersnatch fic on a specific blog dedicated to it. Obviously it’s nowhere near done and it will take ages but if you want the first taster to see if you be interested then the blog is @bandersnatcht and the pinned post is the starting point. All options are linked/will be linked when I’ve written it but it will be a while.
PART 2  PART 3
Tumblr media
Not my gif!! (Please tell me if you, the owner, would like me to take the gif down!)
Growing up, you and your brother always loved playing video games. To this day, you still played them together. It was like sibling bonding time for you both, since the two of you and your father had become distant since your mother’s death. Although, you and Stefan were close.
Since Stefan got the job, he’s been telling you all about the building, games and  people he has met. Your twin had become one of Tuckersoft’s best programmers, and you would be lying if you said you weren’t a little bit jealous of him for it. Although, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, there was one main reason you desperately wanted to work there for.
Colin Ritman
Colin Ritman has been your’s and Stefan’s idol for years. He worked for Tuckersoft as well, so getting this job would mean meeting your number one idol. Stefan had already met him, claiming he was one of the best people he’s met.
He’s also pretty attractive as well
To make sure you landed the job, you worked tirelessly on your game ‘Bandersnatch’. It was like an adventure game but the choices you make affect the path you take. You based it off of the book your mother had of the same name. You wanted to make your game as closely related to the book as possible and give the player a lot of choices, but it’s lately taken a toll on you. You hoped it wouldn’t really affect you while you were making the game.
There were still many pathways to do, but Tuckersoft’s creator, Mr. Thakur, wanted to see the demo you had. You were ecstatic of course and today is the morning that you would show the. Stefan had already left this morning to go to work, saying he would be there to support you and your game once you’ve arrived to show it.
You were on your way to the company building itself, after having yet another awkward breakfast with your father of explaining the book a bit and taking your pills your therapist, Dr. Hanes, prescribed you. Stefan used to be her patient as well but gradually got better and stopped going. You on the other hand, were still forced to go by your dad.
Later, once you finally arrived at the tall building, you put your headphones and tapes away and you couldn’t help but stand in awe at it. It was pretty tall, taller than some buildings you’ve seen before. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself. You were very anxious, but none the less, you finally stepped into the building.
You made it to the area filled with people and desks added with computers where you thought you would be able to find the company’s creator. Passing by a woman at a front desk who was answering and talking into the phone, you made your way farther into the building.
You then noticed a slightly large man wearing a stripe patterned suit walking around the area talking to some people. You recognized him as Mr. Thakur, the owner. He was talking to another guy while you slowly, but gradually made your way over to him. A few moments pass by and he finally noticed your presence.
“Ah! You are....Kaela!” He said.
“Actually, it’s (Y/n). I’m Stefan’s sister.” You corrected.
“Yeah right! Sorry, mate!” Mr. Thakur apologized and smiled brightly, although his smile seemed rather a bit...fake. You assured him it was fine and looked around.
“Sorry for the mess, we just moved in not too long ago!” He says, noticing you were taking in your surrounds.
You listened to what he says when you stopped and noticed the poster on your right on the way. It displayed the words ‘Metal Head’ with some of the letters in a different order. Mr. Thakur followed your gaze and saw your interest in the poster. He pointed to it and said his next words proudly.
“That’s Colin’s new one.” Hearing what he said, you immediately looked at him in a bit of shock.
“Colin Ritman?” You questioned, getting closer to him to make sure you heard him right. He nodded.
“Yup. That’s him over there. Talking to your brother.” He motioned over to your left where you saw your idol and your brother talking casually over a computer. Your face lit up with excitement. Colin looked just as cute and hot as you thought he would.
“He’s my idol. It’s crazy, I’ve played all of his games with my brother!” You almost squealed.
“Well let’s go say hello, then!” Mr. Thakur suggested. You looked at him with confusion.
“Are you sure he won’t mind? He’s working—“ Mr. Thakur interrupted you before you could say anything else.
“No no it’s fine.” He said as he gestures for you both to go over to him and your brother. He motions for you to be quiet and goes up behind Stefan and says in his ear which startles him.
“What’s this? Kajagoogoo?” Mr. Thakur laughs as Stefan jumps slightly. Stefan rolls his eyes at his boss.
“You wish.” Colin retorted back as he takes out another rolled-up cigar.
“Can you believe him? He’s made enough this year to buy a Lamborghini and he still smokes roll-ups.” The company owner said, leaning down to get into Colin’s face, who was sitting on the chair.
You lightly tap on Stefan’s left shoulder and he turns around to confront the person when he notices it’s you with a small smile on your face. He mirrors the smile in delight and hugs you tightly.
“Hey, (Y/n).” Your twin says.
“Hello Stefan. How’s work going?” You asked. Stefan shrugged slightly in response and turned around to introduce you to Colin.
“Colin, this is my twin sister.” He pointed towards you. You awkwardly smiled and put your hand out towards him as he lit his roll-up.
“(Y/n). (Y/n) Butler. I-I’ve played all your games with my brother. All of them! Except for the commodore ones. W-we don’t have a commodore.” You say.
You cringed internally at your words and hoped you didn’t come off too desperate. Colin looked at your hand before looking back to you.
“I’m Colin, yeah?” He responded, shaking your hand. You blushed and grinned at him before being pulled back by your brother in a protective manner. You almost rolled your eyes at his actions.
“This is my latest.” Colin fixed his gaze back onto his computer screen. His computer showed a title screen of a colorful game with the title ‘Nozedyve.”
“Colin was introducing me to his new game. It’s called ‘Nozedyve’.” Stefan told you, pointing to the screen.
The title screen scrolled down to a transition to a sprite game of a mini man falling through a few buildings while dodging some clothes on clothing line. You looked at the game in amazement while Stefan grinned at the developer.
Colin looked over to you while he played it and smiled over to you, happy he made you impressed. You couldn’t help but feel something bubble in your stomach when he smiled at you. You could physically feel your face burn up from his staring.
Just when Colin looked back at the computer screen, the game started to glitch before it crashed completely, changing to a white screen. Colin cursed before pressing some buttons to fix the game. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“What’s that?” Mr. Thakur asked, just as confused as you were.
“It’s a buffer error. The eyeballs have overrun the video memory.” Colin explained. You looked at the screen in fascination.
“Oh yeah yeah yeah. Video memory. Yeah...I was gonna say that.” Mr. Thakur said, trying to explain himself. Stefan rolled his eyes again.
“So (Y/n), you’ve something to demo for us?” Stefan changed the subject. Colin looked over to you, his roll-up in between his lips, and smirked. This is gonna be fun, he thought.
A few minutes later, you, Stefan, Colin and Mr. Thakur went into the game company’s owner’s office to try out your latest demo. While going through it, you showed the others what was happening and explained the whole thing.
“See, it’s a like an adventure game. You choose the path.” Just as you explained it, one of the characters, Pax, showed up on screen. Two choices of ‘deny or worship Pax’ displayed on the screen, marking a choice point in the game.
“L-Like right here, we’ve come to a choice point and you have to pick between two choices and it affects what path you take. And he’s Pax, he’s the demon. You can choose between two choices. You’ve got ten seconds.” You said, still a bit anxious. You gestured toward the character on the screen.
Stefan gave you an impressed look, smiling at you and you copied it. Colin and Mr. Thakur look at the game in fascination.
“Worship him.” Colin told you as he shrugged his shoulders.
“N-no! Don’t do that! He’s the ‘Thief Of Destiny’! I-In the book at least.” You stuttered. Colin took the copy of ‘Bandersnatch’ that you brought and put on the table and glanced through it.
“I’ve got a copy of this at home. Never got a chance to reading it, though.”
“You should! Jerome F. Davies was a genius!” You informed him.
“Didn’t he go bonkers and cut his wife’s head off?” Colin questioned, placing the book on the desk.
“Well, yeah. Besides that.” You looked at Colin and he smiled at you in admiration, which caused you to blush. Stefan switched glances between the two of you and shook his head, not liking the looks you gave each other.
Suddenly, Mr. Thakur took the small game controller from you hands and moved the joy stick to go to ‘worship Pax’ and pressed the red button next to it. The screen flashed from black to white saying the words ‘OUT OF RANGE’. Mr. Thakur looked at it in confusion.
“W-what? What’s happened?” He asked.
“Well, I-I haven’t programmed that pathway yet.” You informed him.
After putting the controller on the desk, Mr. Thakur made a proposition for you. He said that you could write the game there at Tuckersoft and he would have a team work with you, Colin and Stefan included as well. While making your decision, your mind switched back and forth from yes to no.
Yes // No
Finally, you managed to accept it and push the other option away. Mr. Thakur clapped his hands in victory and Colin made a face of disappointment while Stefan clapped you on the back with a bright smile on his face.
But then, your new boss said that things were going to have to be changed in the game. Saying that they can’t fit 48k into a game, meaning they were going to have to shorten the game down by a bunch. Your grin disappeared and you looked down at your lap in realization at what you’ve done.
You’re whole mind was screaming that you made the wrong choice.
Lost in thought, you didn’t realize that Colin had come up to you until he put a hand on your shoulder and your gaze followed up at him. He squeezed your shoulder lightly in assurance.
“Sorry, love. Wrong path.” Colin winked at you, grinned at you then exited through the door. You didn’t notice your brother’s slight glare at Colin’s actions, as you were too focused on Colin’s body leaving the office.
~Five Months Later~
It was now Christmas and you, Stefan, and your dad were sitting on the couch together watching the telly. Christmas had now come around and with decorations all around your house, you and your family watched as ‘Microplay’, the show where a kid rates the newest games that had just come out, came on to give their verdict on your game, ‘Bandersnatch’.
“And that’s how ‘Bandersnatch’ works. But did it ‘snatch’ your respect?” The lady on the screen turned towards the kid who was standing next to several telly’s.
“I’m afraid not, Leslie. As you may know, this is the Tuckersoft’s first team created game but it’s the fact that the game is just way too short. Like someone just went halfway through it and released the quickest and fastest version they could.” The kid explained.
“I see. And your verdict?” The woman asked.
“No stars out of five. Terrible.” The kid confessed.
As the lady said something on screen, you replayed that first meeting in your head, thinking what choice you could have made to fix everything. Your hand was grabbed by Stefan’s in reassurance and he gave you a pitiful smile. Your dad turned off the telly and looked over to you.
“That kid knows nothing.” He tried to console you. You paid no attention to your brother or father.
“I should try again.” You said, mainly to yourself, and stood up. You walked out of the room and started to march your way up to your bedroom.
“(Y/n)—“ Stefan tried to talk to you but you interrupted him.
“I’m trying again!” You said looking back at him for a slight moment, a bit agitated at the moment.
That night, you went to bed and fell asleep. Trying to figure out what choice you could have made to make things better.
...
...
“Can you believe him? He’s made enough this year to buy a Lamborghini and he still smokes roll-ups.” The company owner said, leaning down to get into Colin’s face, who was sitting on the chair.
You lightly tap on Stefan’s left shoulder and he turns around to confront the person when he notices it’s you with a small smile on your face. He mirrors the smile in delight and hugs you tightly.
“Colin, this is my twin sister.” He pointed towards you. You awkwardly smiled and put your hand out towards him as he lit his roll-up. Suddenly, Colin looked over to you in confusion.
“We’ve met before?”
Let me guys know if you want to make this into a mini series! I’m pretty sure I will but I just want your opinion on it :))
