Thoughts on all of the relationships for each of the Dragonets of Destiny? (Peril, Riptide, etc)

I like them!

I feel like Riptide is kind of tossed aside in the books after The Lost Heir and he and Tsunami don't have any cute moments together after that as a result. In general, I feel that Tsunami became pretty much one-dimensional after her book, sacrificing the spotlight for Glory who is kind of the author's favorite. It's a shame because I really like her and I wish there was more depth put into her because it seems like she's mostly mocked for being blunt and short tempered and assertive (and she's also often labeled a lesbian because of this which is stereotyping and not cool) but she does, as shown in her book, have capacity for softer emotion and Riptide does bring that out a little bit just because he has such a chilled out aura (even though he might be seven layers of stressed inside but we don't know that because we NEVER HEAR FROM HIM)

I like Glorybringer too. Deathbringer is goofy and charming and although they banter he doesn't really bring her down and respects her as queen and as her own dragon. I appreciate that. And anyone that can make Glory smile has something special about them.

Starflight and Fatespeaker are cute too. They're both dorky and socially awkward in different ways. I think they're perfect. Fatespeaker gets too much hate.

I like Clayril as well. So real of Peril to become instantly obsessed with someone the second he shows genuine compassion. Women should be allowed to be pathetic simps actually. And clay is so sweet. I think the fire immunity thing is cool. Also, I think Clay would really need a slap-in-the-face obsession sort of love confession because no way he would want to assume anything otherwise. They're cute. I have nothing to complain about.

I'm not really a judgy person when it comes to relationships, so I tend to feel like if the people in the relationship are happy then I've got nothing to worry about. I have a big habit of mostly just accepting canon relationships, so I hope you're not disappointed that there wasn't any drama in this reply.

I remember reading The Dragonet Prophecy for the first time and the reveal that Peril was in love with Clay shocked me as much as, if not more than it shocked Clay.

I remember Tsunami was like “it was so obvious!” And my response basically mirrored Clay’s I was like “WAS IT???”

Obligatory Zhongchi Posting

when I say I prefer zhongchi to tartali in terms of dynamic, that doesn't mean I like the weird daddy Zhongli x man whore Childe thing. Like yes I do hc that Childe is taller and more visibly ripped than Zhongli, but I also hc that Childe is a massive bottom. They are not mutually exclusive concepts. Like given Childe's role in the Fatui and the fact his whole life there's been someone to boss him around and Zhongli is literally a god and has been the main decision maker of an entire country of people most of his life, I think those are just the roles they naturally fall into regardless of if they're doing it intentionally.

Also tbh I hc both of them as asexual or at least disinterested in being freaky because I think Childe would be really uncomfortable to be vulnerable in that way and Zhongli just doesn't really think that's important seeing as he's from a species that as far as I can tell, doesn't sexually reproduce. (Daily reminder that Zhongli is not a dragon, he's an adeptus with a half dragon-half qilin form, that may or may not be his true one, because he's a shapeshifter and all. Regardless, he's not a true dragon.)

Also imo zhongchi is neither yaoi, yuri nor straight, it's a secret fourth option in which both parties are so gender fucked beyond human comprehension that it's impossible to label them as such. Childe is a boy? Maybe? He's a boy in a not boy way it's a whole thing. And Zhongli is just Zhongli. Gender is a human concept and he's not human and belongs to a species of which biological sex doesn't really apply either, given he can just apparently turn into a lady whenever he feels like it.

Anyways I love zhongchi we should normalize toxic zhongchi too I like them because they're dysfunctional.
