To me, the funniest thing about the way the 2nd arc was written was that if ANY of the other POVs came first, I’m like 99% sure Moon would’ve probably been painted about the same way Turtle was in Moon Rising, very mysterious and maybe even somewhat sinister.

And then you’d cut to her pov and it’s just an awkward hidden psychic full of anxiety. (Much like how in canon you cut to Turtle’s and it’s an awkward hidden animus full of anxiety.)

TLDR, It’d just be REALLY funny if you got, say, Qibli’s pov first, so Moon can be read as mysterious and maybe sinister, and then Moon’s, so Turtle could be read as mysterious and maybe sinister, and then suddenly Turtle’s POV is here and oh would you look at that NONE of the jadelets are mysterious and sinister so wAIT WHO IS??? (you feel the earth trembling below you)

Alright hang on Icewing Animus Confusion time

(bear with me while I word vomit about Icewing genetics)

While yes, Arctic running away with Foeslayer would introduce the animus gene(s) into the Nightwings, it WOULDN’T necessarily remove the gene from the entire royal family.

There HAD to have been some other carriers of the animus gene(s) running around the Ice kingdom SOMEWHERE.

The chances of ABSOLUTELY NOBODY OTHER THAN ARCTIC carrying it are low.

Unless it’s like. A rare dominant gene??? But that can’t be it because then if you didn’t get it from your animus parent you can’t pass it down to your child???

And we know Fathom’s parents weren’t animi (animuses?) because Albatross explicitly states before Fathom’s examination that they hadn’t had another animus since himself. So that rules that out.

Idk are there any genetics experts in the WoF fandom that can help me figure this out because right now I’m thinking there still should’ve at least been the POSSIBILITY of Icewing animi even after Arctic ran away with Foeslayer.

But I’m also not a geneticist so I might be wrong

Fun fact I learned in class 1/19/24: when Movie!Cole’s mech says the turntables are set to “thirty-three and a third RPM,” that actually ISN’T a completely random number; it’s the rpm that every vinyl with more than 2 tracks on it spins at

So considering the vicious scratching this man does in his mech you’ve gotta wonder how many vinyls he goes through
