Alright hang on Icewing Animus Confusion time

(bear with me while I word vomit about Icewing genetics)

While yes, Arctic running away with Foeslayer would introduce the animus gene(s) into the Nightwings, it WOULDN’T necessarily remove the gene from the entire royal family.

There HAD to have been some other carriers of the animus gene(s) running around the Ice kingdom SOMEWHERE.

The chances of ABSOLUTELY NOBODY OTHER THAN ARCTIC carrying it are low.

Unless it’s like. A rare dominant gene??? But that can’t be it because then if you didn’t get it from your animus parent you can’t pass it down to your child???

And we know Fathom’s parents weren’t animi (animuses?) because Albatross explicitly states before Fathom’s examination that they hadn’t had another animus since himself. So that rules that out.

Idk are there any genetics experts in the WoF fandom that can help me figure this out because right now I’m thinking there still should’ve at least been the POSSIBILITY of Icewing animi even after Arctic ran away with Foeslayer.

But I’m also not a geneticist so I might be wrong

So i got paint pens for Christmas.

And I like to use higlighters, markers etc. to draw fun lil designs on my nails.

Naturally there was only one way this could go and I’m surprised I resisted this long

I remember reading The Dragonet Prophecy for the first time and the reveal that Peril was in love with Clay shocked me as much as, if not more than it shocked Clay.
