I just randomly selected Ruth Benedict as the topic for my history final, because I'm an anthropology major and she just seemed cool, only to find out that she was not only a important woman antropologist in the early 1900s, but a PARTIALLY DEAF IMPORTANT WOMAN ANTROPOLOGIST IN THE 1900S WHO WAS PROBABLY GAY.

She's really similar to me, which makes it really fun to research her and what she's written!

Just watched a video of a 1985-1986 year book. To everyone in the video, I hope you guys are happy in adulthood right now. You all served cunt. I hope the seniors had a good send off from high-school, and I hope the freshmen had a good first year. Wherever you are right now, I'm glad I got to see a high-school through the lenses of the past.

FIRST WEEK ON CAMPUS

Moving in on Sunday was a whirlwind. All week was a whirlwind.

For privacy reasons, I will not disclose my dorm name, or the name of the kind individual who assisted me when my cart full of belongings flipped over in the elevator. Needless to say, my fears about overpacking were right, and I'm sure everyone in that elevator would agree.

I am not a social butterfly but I feel like I'm faking it very well. I've made a decent amount of friends, and save for the few encounters when I thought someone was talking to me (they weren't), I haven't made much of a fool of myself.

UK is definitely good at keeping their incoming freshmen busy so they don't have time to rethink their enrollment. All week, I felt like I was running on no sleep. For some, that might help them not feel homesick, but personally it made things a lot worse for me.

I went home Friday night for a multitude of reasons and missed the Class of 2028 picture. Even if I was there, you wouldn't be able to spot me, so I'm going to lie to everyone for the rest of my life and say I was right at the top of the state.

The dorms at University of Kentucky are especially nice and especially cold. Even with my thermostat at 71 degrees, I'm freezing all night to the point of being in pain. My one regret of the semester so far is choosing a dorm on North Campus. Aside from the Dining Hall/Student Center, everything is so far away.

Overall, I am very excited for my future here at UK. Hopefully, classes will go well, and I can keep up with the good habits I have started.
