𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖔𝖗𝖉𝖊𝖗 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖇𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖐 𝖉𝖆𝖍𝖑𝖎𝖆:  EST.  1875 - GALLAGHER'S AIM WAS TO  create the best spies she could,  and to do it with class.  the girls were smart,  slow to move with their society,  so that when it was formed  -   it would simply be a bond that was hard to break.  started by gillian gallagher's niece,  whom no one thought even existed,  until she had the papers to show it.  it turns out,  gillian had at least one child afterall.  she was the best of the best for a reason,  after all.  ciara gallagher creates the society to honor her aunt,  out of love for her and her school.  in a way,  she wanted her own legacy at gallagher as well;  but she also wanted to create a sisterhood of like minded girls such as herself,  who ciara thought was as dedicated to gallagher as she was,  those who revered her aunt the way she did.

the order of the black dahlia used the tombs for a small hazing ritual.  girls never got hurt during the hazing,  since it was only making the recruits spend a night there overnight - but it's said that if you make it through the night without a single tear,  you'll excel in your years at gallagher.

when everything first began,  meetings were sweet,  charming.  they'd meet in the gardens after curfew,  lanterns in hand,  and would brew the beginning of their meetings with a mix they called "dahlia tea".  initiation wasn't off,  either.  the leader of the order would read an excerpt from gilly's diary,  which was given to ciara as a child,  in order to make the new members to feel close to gilly - even after her tragic passing.  this was followed by a personal address from ciara,  one about the importance of making their secret sisterhood and gallagher academy proud.

at the turn of the century,  a jealous gallagher student who didn't get into the order caught sight of the girls meeting after dark - which is what they always did.  rumors rooted from the jealousy and hatred from not making it,  said that the girls practiced witchcraft,  and practiced  improper  relationships between the females of the group   (  which,  of course,  was already common and isn't improper these days  -  but was a taboo back then  ).  

in the 1930's,  the order decided to lean into the rumors.  why not?  it had plagued the group for three decades,  and there was no way to get rid of it,  so they rewrote it.   the order leader decided to focus of "light" magic,  which would include simple rituals that would ensure the good health of the order members  -  and even messed around to see if they could get good grades on their exams or classes.  it wasn't a strictly new practice,  rather one that would be decided by the leader whether or not they would continue these practices.

during the 70s and 80s,  the girls got more restless.  they were bored,  got more daring,  and used the order as a way to make their time at gallagher more like a typical college experience.  their new initiation and tradition would have new girls jump naked into the lake in the brisk weather of january,  and girls would be "kidnapped" from their rooms if they were chosen.  there was one case of near hypothermia,  and more cases of girls being poor swimmers - but no one ever actually died,  for the order members were quick to react and make sure everyone ended up okay.

and then rumors of blackthorne's own order coming to an abrupt stop from a murder quickly got around;  and gallagher's order,  fearing they would be next,  decided to discontinue for their own safety.
