As have been the case every year during Christmas, we bought the Ham Royale (±1.8 kg before cooking) from NTUC supermarket. My family used to buy the whole leg of ham weighting approximately 5-6 kg but it is just too much for a few of us. What I love about this ham royale is that it is made from a slab of boneless pork with a layer of fat and cured. When I received the ham, I would slice it into thick slices and put them into Tupperware.

As when we want to eat it, we just take out the required number of slices to pan-fried it. Here, sis sauteed some red and yellow capsicums along with button mushrooms. She also fried eggs to go with the other ingredients. Took the toasted ciabatta and start layering the cheddar cheese, ham, sauteed vegetables, egg and mixed greens on top to make this Ciabatta Ham & Egg Sandwich.

There's perhaps no better or more reliable lunch option than the simple sandwich, which can be elevated to a whole new level by adding a few bacon pieces. A well-prepared sandwich, in my opinion. As the saying goes, "Everything tastes better with bacon."
