Miraculous Ladybug: No More Heroes - Chapter 24
Conspiracy Board - Summary:
Adrien reminisces on the past with his aunt, Gabriel and Marinette quite literally slide into civilisation, and the group go over what they know about Chrysalis.
"Gabriel, be honest. It wasn't Emilie's death that made you a villain, it wasn't the world, and it wasn't the miraculous. It was always you - You were a villain long before you created Hawkmoth." Three years after his death, Gabriel Agreste awakens to a Paris ruled by akumas. He has no idea how he's alive, he has no idea what happened to Paris, all he knows it that he was the one who allowed this to happen. Hunted by the ghosts of his past, with no miraculous to protect him, and his greatest enemy now his only ally, Gabriel must brave this nightmare with Marinette Dupain-Cheng and make a choice: To become the villain he knows he is, or to find a way to become the father he failed to be.

Does Chloe still exist in ur au?
Tumblr media
She does! I've kept core parts of her personality, but retconned massive chunks of her history with Timmy.
Chloe never got fairies, and never shared them with Timmy. But she was his neighbor! They used to play a lot as children, but one day, Chloe wasn't allowed back at the Turner's house.
As a grownup, Chloe's a social worker! She's usually the Go-To person selected by the state to handle difficult public cases involving children. As in: cases involving celebrities, important figures, or the such where the child's identity is at risk to the public. She's an expert at keeping their life secret and away from social media.

Alice in Wonderland Glassheart/Bridgella Au
Okay I have ideas for both so hear me out
Bridgella
It's spring break at Merlin Academy which means a week without school, and constant abuse from her family for Ella, whereas for Bridget it means returning home to Wonderland! Only problem is, she doesn't want to leave Ella behind. If her step family was that bad even with the 8 hours at school and constant escapes to Bridget’s dorm, she could only imagine how bad they'd be if Ella was there 24/7. So she offers to take her to Wonderland for the week. It'd be nice to have a friend around, while magical Bridget so often got lonely in her little house of cards.
Ella is hesitant at first, unsure of if she would be a bother to her friend, or even if her family would let her, but agrees the moment Bridget pleads with her. How could she say no after all? Her stepmother allows it reluctantly saying she would take up too much of Anastasia's and Drizella's space if she stayed but said that she had to fend for herself if she wanted to have anything to wear outside of the rags she'd sewn together herself. "If I bought it. I own it. It stays here."
Nonetheless Ella follows through on her promise to Bridget, packing barely enough for a night or two and following Bridget to Wonderland. Of course Bridget had thought of everything clothes, activities, snacks, magic, she wants to show Ella everything there is to love about her home and of course Ella just watches with amusement and wonder. That is at least until something strange starts happening to her. Whenever Bridget asked her about back home or school she can't seem to recall any of it. In fact she starts to forget almost anything outside of her time with Bridget in Wonderland.
Because Ella hadn't been born there being in Wonderland for such an extended time frame had some unseen side affects. She was becoming a part of the place, madness and all. Bridget starts to take notice and once she realizes what was happening she knows that she has to send Ella back home. But she had never seen her friend so happy, so care free. She didn’t want Ella to hurt again. She wanted Ella to stay in the castle with her, where she could be happy all of the time. Where she could give her anything her heart desired, how could she let her friend suffer again after she saw how much that pain truly weighed on her. The longer Ella stays in Wonderland the deeper it's roots start to anchor her there forever and Bridget is the only one who could possibly bring her back to her senses, and the truth is... she's not sure if she wants to.
Glassheart
Kind of inspired by @c-rose2081 phantom of the Oprah au in some ways
Okay so when Chloe was a little girl, around seven, eight years years old she falls down a rabbit hole to Wonderland. She's confused and lost and scared she just wants to get back home, but she doesn't let that stop her. Knights are brave she’d remind herself wondering further and further into the confusing woods trying to settle her tears, but she can't help herself she wants her mom, and she misses her brother and she just wants to go home. That's when Red shows up, having been watching the girl the whole time like her mom told her to.
She'd never met anyone her age before, especially not one from the surface, and like every other person from Wonderland she reveled in her curiosity. She approaches Chloe with interest and begins asking the girl many questions. Why she's crying, what's a Chad, where'd she come from. She asks question after question amusing the scared girl until her tears turn to giggles at her new friend. She tells Red she wants to go home and can't find her way, but Red’s never had a friend before and gets angry because she wants Chloe to stay, so they make a promise. If Red takes her home, next time she returns she'll stay and then they'll be able to play together again for as long as they want.
So Red returns her new friend home dreaming of her eventual return, except it never comes. Years pass by and her mother gets worse but to Chloe that night was nothing more then a hazy memory that no one would believe. "It was just a dream" they'd told her "the Rabit holes' been closed for years" and though she'd convinced herself she'd believed them Chloe knew deep down that it was real. That Red was real.
One day, after a decade of living separate lives Chloe returns to Wonderland, and Red is both hurt because she'd thought Chloe had left her for good and also ecstatic that she had returned. Except, when Red approached her just as she did all those years ago not a trace of recognition had shone on Chloe’s face. She had forgotten about her, about their promise, she lied. Chloe tells Red she has to get home and Red is angered at the sense of de ja vu she got at the statement. Red refuses to help claiming that "this time you're supposed to stay" which only confused Chloe further. She didn’t remember being there before, meeting Red, or making a promise. The memory having long been overwritten by those who called her a lier, or crazy, but the people of Wonderland all seemed to have memories of her before. She felt as if she was going mad, and maybe she was. But who was Red to stop her? She made a promise, and it was time she keep it.

in the absence of adrien, due to his ever-controlling mother keeping him inside for longer than gabriel did, my initial thought was to hand the cat miraculous to alya for the emilie butterfly au, but that didn't fit the plans i had for her character, so i went through a couple of ppl and settled with chloe
i dont think it fits her quite as well as the bee, but she does know how to be destructive, even if it's in a different way to adrien. mostly im just into the dynamic of her and marinette getting close as partners while fighting as civilians, and seeing if their relationship as heroes can affect their relationship at school

I know Chloe is a fan unfavorite but I don't think she's all that bad. I definitely would have made changes to the way her character was written and how she was introduced, though. She deserved better than FOP season 10 (;ω;)

Loveybug AU Headcanons/Concepts
Bc Loveybug is such a cute cute cute idea and I wanna create some stuff but we start with brainstorming my interpretation (I love seeing all the different interpretations) because of course.
I really wanna see what would happen if Adrien had to choose the Ladybug miraculous (although bad idea as it is) and I really feel like Adrien would choose Marinette despite her previous insistence on not being a good enough hero hero and being "easily exposed" as Multimouse ("I don't know Plagg, she really would be great at this! She's the most creative person I know. I really think she deserves a second shot. She would do a great job as Ladybug- although no one's better than her." And cue Plagg being like: Kid please. And also cue Marinette, a bit later, being given back the earrings and going "W-what am I supposed to do now?!"
Also, I do like the idea of flirty or just unshamelessly open about her feelings Marinette as Lovey, but also consider how she would do quite literally anything for the people she loves and gets kinda silly around those she has a crush on, and I wanna hone in on a Loveybug who's really big on gift giving (she makes so much stuff for everyone omg, the rest of the team is constantly given food or little trinkets to keep in their suits) and acts of service. Or even just consider Loveybug + love languages (she'll be so committed to trying every single one until she nails it on the head on how best to show appreciation for someone). I think as Lovey, her most prominent way to show love is through her support and devotion. So she's open-hearted until she's proven wrong in doing so. Essentially: she's loving and loveable.
In battle, that's very prominent. Her heart's on her sleeve. She has an enhanced attentiveness to the emotions that may have caused an akuma, willing to hear them out before needing to fight (will only stay on the defensive until all other methods are exhausted), being gentle to sentimonsters and giving her farewells to them, and sticks around to offer some kind words and a little gift to victims or a hug (she always asks first) after purifying the butterfly.
I imagine an average encounter with Chat (not Cat Walker because that's gonna be a separate thing ;>) to be a mixture of flirting (mostly on Chat's end, but we all know Mari can match it so easily) and a bunch of affectionate touches. Touch-starved Adrien would MELT. And Lovey would never miss a chance to tell him he's done something great or cool. She would be playfully swooning at him and everything.
Once Cat Walker's there, she's tentatively affectionate and flirty before realizing Cat Walker responds positively to casual touches and hugs better. His gentlemanly nature and reservedness does make her back off slightly. Although, as she falls deeper, she can't help her increased affection with silly lil ploys to achieve touch (i.e. Cat Walker catching her or holding her). Her being both purposefully clumsy and then the one time she's actually clumsy that causes Cat Walker to be like: Oh no, she's cute.
There's also the immense amount of angst potential, because yknow: love is beautiful, but it can also hurt. Marinette deffo knows that so damn well. She's constantly positive about it, until she sees something like someone getting broken up with, and she'll be very empathetic. Being cheated on, an unrivalled fury. Falling out of love with someone?
Oh.
Oh.
Chat notices Lovey leaning against a balcony's railing. She greets him with a grin, but her eyes are so, so sad as she gazes back at the Paris landscape. Chat: Lovey? Is everything okay? Lovey: ... She sneaks a glance at him, with a look he can't decipher, before letting out a sigh. Lovey: I think- I think I'm falling out of love with him. Lovey: Did I even love him at all? Chat, coming up next to her: What makes you think that? Lovey: I've fallen in love with someone else! How could I have done that?! How could I have dared to-?! Chat: Lovey, stop. What makes you think you don't love him anymore? Lovey: Because- because. Chat: Do you dislike him? Are you annoyed with him? Have you stopped wanting to be around him? Lovey: I- no, but... Chat: You can love multiple people, you know that. There's nothing wrong with it. Lovey: Not like this! Chat: Just use communication, lovely bug. Just communicate how you feel. That's how relationships are, right? Communicating. Lovey looks at the guy she's in love with, and turns back to a billboard to see her first love, the love she still loves. She lifts the gloved hand clutching hers, kissing it gently in gratitude: Yeah, you're right. You always know the right thing to say.

People do understand, it's on Andre, right?
Chloé Bouegeois, bully of the miraculous show, and her warcry is: 'Wait until my daddy hears about this!'
She is literally powerless, everything she ever got away with, everything she ever did. It was all on this man willingly abusing his position as Mayor to bend the world are the requests of a child.
'But he loves her', 'He's just trying', 'If only she weren't spoiled!'. This is some weak justification for a grown man; a freaking rich, white, grown man in power. He's the parent, she's the child.
If you want to have sympathy for Andre as a man who is weak-willed and married someone who dominates him, you can. Don't dump the responsibility for his misdeeds onto the shoulders of a child in the process.
If anything, he probably shaped Chloé into a mini-Audrey as well, since people stuck in victimhood tend to recreate the situations they are used to. Get the man help, but also recognize how supremely messed up it is to turn your daughter into your wife.

I was in the middle of making a shitpost mocking my own hypocrisy as I criticize good only players even though I do the same thing. But it made me realize an interesting commonality between good and evil only players. For some context, here is my original shitpost that I decided to turn into an essay:
Good only players: I just can't be evil or mean. I don't like it when NPC's are sad.
Me: Pfft, pathetic. They're not real, you can't hurt their feelings.
Also me: *commits numerous moral atrocities cause I don't like it when Minthara (an NPC) is sad*
This is a very common sentiment amongst good only players of being unable to do evil playthroughs or make choices that are less than neutral. The emotions and feelings of NPC's does matter to them and evil choices could hurt these NPC's. And this is something a lot of evil only players, including myself, tend to scoff at and belittle good only players for doing. Well, good only players, I am going to humbly apologize for this specific judgement because I realize you and I are not all too different. (Don't worry, I am still going to judge you in general, just not for this). Good only and evil only players both actually do care about the feelings of pixels and NPC's and made up characters, it is just that good only players and evil only players have different criteria for determining which NPC's to care about.
The biggest distinction between which NPC's to care about is the line that separates good and evil alignment (in terms of DnD, not real world moral principles). Good alignment puts the collective over the individual. So good only players are looking at everyone and everything and seeing that they are all important and that no one singular life takes precedence over hundreds of others. That an NPC's mere existence is enough to make good only players care, no matter how insignificant or useless the NPC is. Evil alignment puts the individual over the collective. Where evil only players really only care about what is right in front of them and that an NPC simply existing does not mean they are owed attention or sympathy. That someone has to be significant to an evil only player in order for them to care. This isn't to say that good only players don't care for the individual and evil only don't care for the collective, it is merely a matter of priority.
A big criticism evil only players tend to get is that we are often called heartless or uncaring, but that isn't true, at least not to the extent good only players claim. Evil only players do care about NPC's, but have a much more narrow set of NPC's they care about. Using me as an example, I care about Minthara (an NPC). And I make certain choices in the game because I genuinely do not want her to be sad or upset. And it does not bother me that the grove has to pay the price because to me they are insignificant, unimportant, and I have no reason to put them over Minthara. Slaughtering the grove makes her happy, but it also is the start of her character arc where she realizes something is wrong. This does not mean I make every single possible evil decision or that I murder everyone on sight. Yes, sometimes I do murder, sometimes I do kill cause it makes her laugh and smile. But sometimes, I do ignore her because sometimes her suggestions are not good for her. And although I want her happy, her long term happiness is my end goal, not temporary satisfaction. The NPC that factors into my decision making is her and her only.
Whereas good only players are the opposite. Even if they did care about Minthara, they also care about the grove. And the collective that is the grove is more important than a single companion. It is why most of them just knock her out because it is the best of both worlds. But a handful do kill Minthara because in Act 1, she is a threat to the grove and her life is not more important than the grove to them. They are willing and able to live without that one special Act 1 scene, because one singular scene truly does not have the same value as all the scenes they'd miss if they killed the grove. One companion does not have the same value as all the NPC's and the companions they'd lose by raiding the grove. And I'll bet many good only players just ignore her murdery suggestions. It isn't cause they don't care about her, but because the people she wants them to kill are just as important to them. For good only players, they factor in all NPC's at the same time, and will overrule the singular NPC who acts against the rest.
But Minthara isn't the only one, I do the same for a lot of the other companions as well. Where I care more about them, than any perceived benefit that an outside group would get. For example, in all my playthroughs, there were only 2 where I became Absolute (both embrace Durge runs). Most of the time, I destroy the brain. Not because I want to save the world, but because I did not want to subject my friends to the cruelty of the Absolute. The world benefiting is just a consequence of a choice born of selfish reasons. A good only player also cares about their friends, but they are also thinking of the world. To them, saving the world is more important and their friends being saved is a consequence of living in that world.
Same when it comes to Shadowheart's Dark Justiciar choice. I care more about her than I care about whatever happens to Last Light. Sometimes I have her embrace Shar, other times I have her reject Shar, it really depends on what I am role-playing. I don't care about the Nightsong, I don't care that Last Light gets saved or not, and I do not care about the morality of the choice. I care about Shadowheart and only Shadowheart in this instance and outside NPC's do not factor into my decision (even when I have her reject Shar). But to good only players, not only is Shadowheart important, but so is the Nightsong and so is Last Light.
I feel like a lot of people misunderstand what evil in RPG's look like and perceive it as murder and only murder. That you're just an asshole and spit in people's faces and live to make NPC's cry all the time. No, that is comically evil (which I refer to as Chaotic stupid). Evil is just as nuanced and complex as goodness, and it isn't defined by murder (because sometimes, even good aligned characters kill too). Sometimes evil is selfishness, which doesn't always result in death or murder, although it often does. One does not need to kill to be selfish. But sometimes, selfishness can indirectly lead to deaths, even though you quite literally did nothing. Sometimes, evil means putting one's own personal benefit over the collective benefit. But acting solely for one's personal benefit does not necessarily result in harm to the collective because sometimes the collective can still benefit from someone being selfish.

Thinking about how Max‘s habit of shying away from help or talking about things is because throughout that whole week she had to only rely on herself essentially. How she had the whole world on her shoulders and felt she had to carry it, not because no one else could, but because no one else would.

okay okay but what about mario kart?? who would be the best/most competitive/cheater/the sore loser out of the bunch 👀
Chloe and Aubrey have to sign a contract that they'll be chill about whatever the outcome is going to be. Amy also has to sign a contract that she won't be cheating (and then proceeds to tell Lilly or whoever else sits closest to her how to cheat the system. Sometimes it's total bullshit though; which, Beca points out, counts as cheating, to which Amy replies it's not her fault if others are this stupid)
Beca, I feel like, is the best at timing her boosts (just, timing in general).
Emily, Ashley and sometimes Stacie have the worst road rage ever. Aubrey just starts singing 80s music louder and louder (and through gritted teeth) the more she gets nerfed from 1st place.
CR is pretty chill altogether. I think she's the one whose account they use because she collects all the stuff.
Eventually somebody suggests they play in teams to keep their relationship as a group intact, but... they start bickering and picking on people who place last, then, instead of having fights about the best racer. So Mario Kart lands on the banned games list soon after lmao
