Okay, another "Mical and Visas become BFFs" headcanon:
Atton has absolutely zero respect for Mical and our favorite pathological liar/pilot makes snide comments whenever he can at the poor kid's expense.
But... Atton is super fucking creeped out by Visas. Oh he'd rather die than ever admit it, but Visas actually scares the shit out of him. She's a species he's never had the opportunity to kill before, so Atton already feels like he is at a disadvantage. Add to the fact she's Sith - or close enough - and that brings up a ton of unpleasant memories from when he was serving in Revan's forces (even before That One Jedi who opened his eyes, I think soldiers like him soon learned to avoid the Dark Jedi in their company, unless you wanted to be broken or 'played' with). And the idea that Miralukas can SEE past your outward personality and can effectively see your aura, literally see your true colors. It's worse than mind-reading, because there is NO real defense against Miralukan sight.
Atton avoids Visas like the plague.
When Visas and Mical start becoming pals, Atton might sneer at Mical but when Visas slowly turns around and just... looks, somehow looks at him without eyes, and she just radiates barely contained disgust for Atton. Atton just shrivels up and stops, leaving the room, maybe throwing back a weak insult in an attempt to save face.
Mical finds it a bit odd, but he does secretly appreciate the fact he's not getting bullied as much anymore.

Funds for Haiti and Haitian Americans
A Haitian American woman with long Covid and her daughter with cancer have both been struggling to raise funds that would help them during their illnesses. Both of them live in the Midwest, which is where a lot of the most recent fear mongering has been centered.
COJEHA is a Haitian organization that provides financial support for youth, teaches agricultural skills, helps ensure children attend school, and teaches other soft life skills. They're working on building a farm with fish and vegetable crops where teaching occurs, which will also increase local access to fresh food.
P4H Global is the organization that has been working on building the canal connected to the Massacre River, another agricultural project. They have also been working to support education in Haiti, with both teachers and students.
The Haitian Community Center in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield's food bank, community health center, and a local Catholic organization that provides aid are also accepting donations.
Richard Pierrin is a journalist who has had to flee Haiti and is trying to get a visa that will allow him to work, and that doesn't end after 3 months.
Marc Henry and his family have been dealing with food insecurity for months, and are trying to get funds so they can eat, as well as supplies like livestock and fishing equipment so they can sustain themselves even after the fundraiser is done. They're close to their goal.
An elderly couple's home was damaged multiple times over the last few years and they are trying to raise funds to finish construction. They are also very close to their goal.
A fundraiser for children in Jacmel to provide food, water, and clothes.
A fund for several families to secure plane tickets out of the country
OTRAH is an organization that helps trans Haitians and wants to expand their services to combat HIV. They don't have a gofundme, instead donations are discussed over email.
There is also this thread of Haitian gofundmes which updates fairly regularly
This document explaining the leadup to where we are now also names some organizations that could use financial support

How to Sponsor Your Parents in UAE?
The United Arab Emirates allows you to sponsor your parents and bring them to live with you. Nevertheless, there is a specific eligibility criteria that you need to meet. One of the main requirements for sponsoring parents in UAE is the financial threshold. The key sponsor needs to have a specified minimum monthly income to qualify for this process. Besides, this threshold is higher than required for a spouse or child sponsorship, considering the higher financial responsibility for supporting parents. Planning to bring your family to the UAE? Let Shuraa help you in this reunification.

Dear, free world: Apathy No More!
Note 1: Resharing my post from my terminated Tumblr account (@mahmoudkhalafff).
Note 2: Short-term goal of 30k for evacuation has been thankfully achieved. I am consulting with the Irish Refugee Council and Doras in Ireland regarding the procedures and requirements for issuing reunification visas once the crossing is operational and my family can evacuate for Egypt. We are a big family of many brothers and sisters who have so many children. They are scattered in different areas in the Gaza Strip including the North of Gaza where they can be very hard contact sometimes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many other Gazans in Limerick are working hard and reaching out to Irish politicians and MPs to facilitate a safe passage for their families out of Gaza to Ireland.
When piles and piles of people are apathetic when it comes to the genocide unfolding in Gaza, be the source of relief, hope, and support for the stranded helpless besieged people there. Astonishingly, our life in Gaza turned upside down in an instant?! We woke up one day to realize that a massive-scale war was to be launched against more than 2 million people in Gaza. My Facebook timeline was filled with countless posts in which Gazans publicly asked for forgiveness before their expected imminent mass murder. Can you imagine what it feels like reading all these scary posts and wondering if you should say a final 'Goodbye'?!
Then, Gazans ventured on their own version of Via Dolorosa (Way of Suffering) which included multiple forced displacements, acute life-threatening shortages of water and food, lost jobs, humiliation, mass destruction, injuries, and murder.
It is beyond shocking and sickening how desensitized our world has become to see all the horrifying images of children's body parts scattered everywhere and not lift a finger to stop this ruthless and inhumane genocide. I can say with all certitude on behalf of my people in Gaza that we have lost hope in all the vile desensitized regimes and politicians of the world.
However, we still have strong faith in the lovers and supporters of our just cause who never cease to shower us with their heartwarming words of support and uplifting wishes. Our belief in your humanity and support for our just cause drives us to ask you for help in this worst crisis in our history since the Nakba.
