A dog and a young girl were seen comforting each other at a refugee camp in Gaza. She’s one of the nearly 1 million Palestinian children now displaced due to Israel’s war on Gaza. Facing violence, hunger, and insurmountable loss, she does not have much. But in this moment, she has a friend. 14/10 (Video from @eye.on.palestine. Viewer discretion advised if clicking through to this account, as it spotlights some of the horrific atrocities currently being perpetrated against the people of Gaza)

The humanitarian group Save the Children estimated Monday that around 21,000 kids are missing in the Gaza Strip as Israel's military continues its assault on the enclave, reducing much of the Palestinian territory to rubble.
Roughly 4,000 kids are likely buried under that debris, according to Save the Children, while at least 17,000 are unaccompanied, an "unknown number" are in mass graves, and others have been "detained and forcibly transferred out of Gaza, their whereabouts unknown to their families amidst reports of ill-treatment and torture."
A child protection specialist with Save the Children said that the group finds more unaccompanied children every day in Gaza, where parents and entire families have been wiped out by Israel's relentless bombing campaign and ground invasion.
"We work through partners to identify separated and unaccompanied children and trace their families, but there are no safe facilities for them—there is no safe place in Gaza," said the Save the Children specialist. "Besides, reuniting them with family members is difficult when ongoing hostilities restrict our access to communities, and constantly force families to move."
"Neighbors and extended family members who have taken in lone children are struggling to meet their basic needs, such as shelter, food, and water," they added. "Many are with strangers—or completely alone—increasing the risk of violence, abuse exploitation, and neglect."

These innocent youngsters, who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict or persecution, face unimaginable hardships and uncertainty in their lives. It is estimated that there are currently over 30 million child refugees worldwide, with many of them living in overcrowded and under-resourced refugee camps. These children often lack access to education, healthcare, and proper nutrition, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. The emotional toll of being uprooted from their familiar surroundings can also have long-lasting effects on their mental well-being. Despite the obvious challenges, child refugees demonstrate remarkable resilience and strength as they strive for a better future.

still dont see how so many people say that dawntrail is poorly written in comparison to other expansions like. what, did you realize you had to learn about a new culture and immediately not care anymore lmao? you've done it before, was this one not white enough for you?
genuinely i think more people should do side quests during msq so idk you can form a heart about the characters you're interacting with if you struggle with that and understand the land better so when impactful shit happens your illiterate ass can actually read and have empathy. theres no excuse for this.
if you can't handle storybuilding and character introductions from the expansion that feels like stormblood and shadowbringers had passionate gay sex that got one of them pregnant and birthed a beautiful daughter they both love and care about then idk what to tell you, maybe youre just lame and can't read. best of luck with that.
#'they dont take as many risks as shadowbringers and endwalker!!' okay one WHAT risk did ENDWALKER take lmao#and two DID YOU PLAY PAST ZORMOR LMAO?????????? HELLO?????????? DID YOU LEAVE TULIYOLLAL??? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT#like i genuinely think you guys just complain about shit without actually playing the game#god forbid you have to learn about another world#some people heard this was stormblood 2 and immediately gave up caring#oh im sorry you were able to care about literal racist elves in cold france but a refugee? a non white civilization? oh i see#shadowbringers literally set up its societies too they were already in war dawntrail wasnt already#i think people should replay stormblood. it was never a bad expansion and i dont know what people are talking about???#half of the complaints i see for stormblood are racist and the other half werent reading any of the dialogue#'the horrors of war expansion has horrors of war in it i just wanna play on the playground with gay elves'#bitches will literally say they dont understand stormblood or dawntrail and then say yotsuyu was justified zenos is hot and wuk lamat is bad#why play a fantasy game if youre not interested in exploring new worlds#dawntrail takes so many more risks than shadowbringers and endwalker combined and sticks the landing with just about all of them#i think my only problem was how many times theg brought up they arent related by blood. no i can tell lol#some of yall are just haters that cant form their own opinion and are just mindlessly nodding along to somebody#you follow on twitter that was gonna hate DT regardless because zenos didnt come back to life this time#consume new media. go do side quests. touch grass. walk a trail at dawn and perhaps you have appreciation for story building#you guys are pathetic and i wish you the worst <3#dawntrail's twists are on par with shb and stb thats why i call it the love child of stormblood and shadowbringers#ffxiv

Growing up with strict, neurodivergent parents while neurodivergent yourself will have you as an adult acting like you've recently escaped the feywild. What are the tricky rules? Is everything accounted for? How do I ensure I don't accidentally step over the line into Impoliteness. You know the consequences aren't death and dismemberment but you might look down one day and find you've lost your shadow and all of your friends if you're not careful
#this post motivated by getting frozen yogurt with friends#and they tried to pay for me and I said I thought I was paying for myself#because I didn't know the acceptable amount and couldn't see their cups#so instead of risking having gotten too much and stepping over the invisible boundary of what it was okay to let them pay for#I played it safe and paid for myself#which is sometimes a risky play because it's rude to refuse a gift#but I said I thought I was paying for myself#implying I didn't know it was a gift and therefore am not refusing but rather not in a position to accept#because I'm a scared little child inside who wasn't allowed to get a small but was still hungry after having a baby size#or am I a refugee of the faewilds trying to lawyer my way through all of these rules nobody else talks about lmao#neurodivergent#neurodiversity#fae#fey#feywilds#socially awkward#social rules#politeness#idk how to tag things and I've been here like five years now send help

refugees do not, in fact, stop being refugees because you don’t like their leaders
#notes from management#‘the only refugees thingol kept out were CELEGORM and CURUFIN’ i was not aware the feanorian presence in himlad consisted of two elves#and given those people later show up in nargothrond i feel secure in saying they weren’t allowed into doriath either#‘but they were KINSLAYERS’ really? every last one of them?#every washerwoman and orphaned child and random band of humans hitching a ride away from the front lines?#and even so… we know these people aren’t mindless feanorian loyalists on account of (again) nargothrond#they’re not monsters (yet) or even really an active threat#but no can’t have any hint of the *~pollution~* of the outside world within the girdle#there is no war in menegroth etc etc#:sigh: as a die-hard feanorian stan who nevertheless thinks they do end up as villains#i just wish the thingol people would acknowledge that he maybe made some bad decisions

As mentioned in a previous post, Ezzedine "Azouz" Isawi, younger brother of Shoroq Isawi, was martyred. He was 17 years old. Shoroq has been sharing tributes and memories of her brother on Instagram. In this post from July 19, artist Mohammed Alassar shares this picture he drew of Azouz.
In his caption, Mohammed shares memories of his brief encounters with Azouz, describing him as friendly, generous, and possessing an air of matitury for his young age. From what I gather, based on Shoroq's posts, he was the only son and youngest member of the family.
Mohammed is on Instagram @ mohammed_alassar, where he shares illustrations of life in wartime. You can follow Shoroq on Instagram @ shoroq.isawi_. You can support Shoroq and her family on Go Fund Me: https://gofund.me/8dcb3ad1
Available Go Fund Me campaigns for people whose stories have been shared on watermelllonarchive can be found in the resources post.

Yknow its like. Okay. Jay grew up heavily enmeshed in his culture to the point it is his focal point of identity and then his connection to his culture is repeatedly and steadily stripped away from him by the powers that be. He is punished just as much for being Gamorran as he is for anything hes actually done. Slowly we watch as Jay loses what he once had- his country, his family, his identity.
Jon's the opposite, growing up for a good what, eight years or so totally removed from Krypton? And then now as an adult trying to claim the 'S' and the legacy that has, he is repeatedly punished and treated like an alien for it by the public and honestly like an outsider by the rest of his family. Hell, seeking to reconnect with his Kryptonian side (via Jor El) is what lead to the worst trauma of his life. It's implied in Superman 2016 he didn't meet Kara, the one person who remembers Krypton, until he was like, 10. His connection to Krypton is tenuous at best but its enough to put him in the crosshairs of people who want him dead.
Then there's Nia who's like a not-so-happy medium. She grew up just enmeshed in Naltorian culture enough to call herself Naltorian, to inherit the cultural flaws that her mother brought home from their society (the "better you than us" attitude), but not enough that she actually grasps the full meaning of what it is to be a precognitive because she was deliberately excluded from those conversations for much of her upbringing.
[brennan lee mulligan voice] y'know what i mean?

hello! what would you say your favorite movies are?
off the top of my head.... ravenous, doubt 2008, spotlight, his house 2020, the killing of a sacred deer, stoker 2013, us 2019
#if you're going to watch anything off this list PLEASE watch his house it's so underrated#its about a sudanese refugee family that moves into a house haunted by the child they lost crossing the mediterranean#one of the most gut wrenching things I've ever seen
