Planet of the Apes Video Essays
In honor of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes coming out in May, I've made a list of video essays and podcasts for anyone who is either a fan of the original and reboot franchises, just getting into the series, or simply interested.
StoryStreet
This guy made an excellent three-part video essay about the reboot Planet of the Apes "Caesar" trilogy.
Triumph of Rise
Tragedy of Dawn
Beauty of War
The Vile Eye
The Vile Eye YouTube Channel has great videos about villain/antagonist characters, and in his opinion, why they became the way they are within the story.
Analyzing Evil: Koba
The Take
The Take has some great videos about film history, story tropes, and internet/social media pop culture trends. Here is their video about the Planet of the Apes.
Science Fiction of Social Fears
Georg Rockall-Schmidt
The Importance of Race
Cheyenne Lin
Cheyenne has some great video essays on pop culture. This video has time stamps, and POTA starts at the 14:30 mark.
How Good Are Sci-Fi Allegories
Raiders of the Lost Podcast
Planet of the Apes Trilogy is Remarkable
Ape Nation
This is a new YouTube channel dedicated to anything about Planet of the Apes. And about goddamn time, too! It's creator, Josh, started the channel when the first teaser trailer for Kingdom came out. And he's been keeping up-to-date with any news regarding the newest installment.
Maple Street Movies
Why I Love the Planet of the Apes Trilogy
Fan of Films
Planet of the Apes: An EXTREMELY Underrated Trilogy

She cooked here.
Only thing is she didn’t to include the modern history of celebrities performing for kings and presidents and how that slid into the private performances that exist now and how it’s different now because those events were also for the public and also didn’t evaluate the artists status and now these are strictly private engagements and often do elevate those entertainers to a new level as they also participate in the same capitalistic ventures and become lil baby billionaires. But iykyk.
Also she never has such a pissed off tone. This shit has her ready to spit. My girl is disgusted😂

In this video I talk about the evolution of the ‘gender war’ debate in popular media, like MTV 2’s Guy Code and Girl Code, and how the ‘gender wars’ inevitably became embraced by the alt-right, as seen with the likes of Joe Rogan, the Fresh and Fit hosts, Andrew Tate, and other ‘men’s rights activist’ media and red-pilled content. I also talk about how the normalization of the ‘battle of the sexes’ helps to reinforce patriarchy and misogyny by making it seem as though the fault lies on both sides, rather than patriarchy being a systemic issue, where women are institutionally discriminated against for the benefit of men. And thus, feminism, the fight for women's rights, under this gender essentialist thinking, becomes an affront to men and the ‘natural order’ of things. Additionally, I talk about how men are coping with feminism and the growing 4B movement, which is denying men sex, dating, kids and marriage, and finally, we’ll get into if women are going ‘too far’, if misandry exists, and how the gender war wasn’t created equally.

real quick: Gamers
Game websites with huge community hubs whose fans are often associated with blunt Twitter hate mobs sort of shrug, they say things like ‘we delete the really bad stuff, what else can we do’ and ‘those people don’t represent our community’ -- but actually, those people do represent your community. That’s what your community is known for, whether you like it or not. When you decline to create or to curate a culture in your spaces, you’re responsible for what spawns in the vacuum. That’s what’s been happening to games. —Leigh Alexander (August 27, 2014)
Leigh Alexander went ham on that 2014 article, but this is the best part to me. Honestly, because I relate so hard to the statement. Having basically said it to Euros while in college. if x is the kinda shit goin' down in your community, neighborhood, city, school, workplace, etc., and its members aren't trying to do anything about it then guess dafuq what bruh.
Since I'm here, here ya be some GamerGate shit:

Casual racism in fantasy books needs to stop. In this video I review Tiger Lily (2012) by Jodi Lynn Anderson, as well as The Golden Compass (1995) by Philip Pullman, and talk about their more pernicious (racist) aspetcs.
NOTE: This video is going to be a bit different due to the fact that my laptop wasn't working, but it's okay now and next week’s videos will be back to normal. Thanks for bearing with me!

I really don't think rich people deserve the defence of "they can use their money how they want", when they are using to ignore world problems, like genocides, unequality and climate change.

Wait people eat horse meat for real??
Oh damn I forgot asks are a thing i can receive lol sorry for the probably late answer!
It's a domestic animal with a lot of meat on it that tastes ok, so why not? People tend to react similarly to it as most do with the concept of eating dogs though so it's not super common everywhere for all classes but it definitely does happen. Pretty sure it's relatively common in Finland for example.
Humans have been eating horse meat long before we domesticated them like... very long before. I'd recommend looking up stuff about human horse interaction throughout history. It's very interesting to see how things change over time!
