It would be good if media outlets and people online stop praising and centering White celebs for doing the bare min of sharing links, supporting ceasefire and criticizing Israel and actually platform the Palestinian grassroots activists like Hisham Arwartani who have received the worst of the backlash for their advocacy and activism 🙄🤷🏻♀
Anyways, please listen to the podcast and donate to the gofundme for his recovery if you can:

Anyways, too many White commentators are erasing Ballerina Farm's complicity in promoting this harmful, regressive lifestyle. And I'm just sick and tired of infantilizing White women and refusing to hold them accountable. That's what's so frustrating about the online discourse.
Here's two videos about tradwifes by Shanspeare:
youtube
youtube
The radfems dismissing any critique of white feminism when it comes to criticizing how much attention and sympathy the Ballerina Farm controversy is receiving are so annoying. But then again, transphobes don't understand intersectionality 🤷🏻♀️
Is what happening to Ballerina Farm horrible? Yes, the tradwife life is inherently horrible becos they are part of a relationship dictated by patriarchal values and rigid gender roles. However, is it the worst thing to happen to women? No, there are other horrible things happening to women, esp Black and Brown women that yall are ignoring. It's giving Gabby Petito debate, it's giving Barbie Oscars controversy.

Delete this ask if it's just not within this blog’s preview or responsibility. I'm a white person who's been making it a daily habit to learn anti-racist ideology and to relearn it daily. I followed FHPOC to be better in touch with non-white voices and be able to recognize racism in media better. Do you know alternative resources? I'm trying to get as many as possible, and because of my neo-nazi parents, I can't keep physical books on me. Thank you
Another tumblr blog I follow is @writingwithcolor
So far I haven't found any issues with them but if others have then please feel free to reply so I can unfollow.
You said u can't have physical books can u purchase them online & keep them on your phone? Because if so I would recommend looking for kindle version of books and read them in secret.
offcolour.org
Is a website that posts articles about poc in media. They keep people updated on poc representation & usually explain if it's bad representation or a good one. They cover all kinds of fandoms from movies, shows, comic books, etc.
If you have Twitter the above link is a thread of Indigenous educators to follow for information.
This is a thread of book recommendations focused on Black authors that have a few books that may be helpful to you. It includes feel pdf files if u can't purchase them.
As far as social media I would recommend looking for poc content creators. Following poc who make YouTube videos, tiktoks, Tumblr, on Twitter & even Instagram can really help shape your worldview. Even if they don't make posts educating about those specific topics I think you'll find seeing their content regularly will help you become more aware of the struggles & daily issues poc deal with & it helps you be more mindful of others.
Sorry if this list isn't bigger. Thank you for the ask. This blog is pretty new & we kind of intended for it to just be an archive of the shit fhpoc is trying to ignore & hopefully get some answers from them. Maybe we can look into more alternative blogs & recommend them on here too. If anyone knows of blogs or sites dedicated to poc please feel free to recommend them to us. I'm always looking for more to follow on my personal too.

On the Nara Smith vs Onezwa controversy and how colorism plays a role:
Source: dr.donnaoriwo (via Instagram)
Regardless of whether or not you think Nara Smith did or didnt steal content from Onezwa, it should be acknowledged that Onezwa, a fat dark-skinned Black woman, will never get the same visibility and acclaim that Nara Smith, a skinny lightskinned mixed-race Black woman, receives. Colorism and fatphobia also plays a role in why Nara Smith's side of the story was believed over Onezwa along with the harassment that Onezwa has since received for speaking out about this.
This video by Youtuber Ashley Viola also pointed out that when confronted about it in June 2024, Nara Smith lied about not knowing who Onezwa was or encountering her content becos she had actually left a comment on one of Onezwa's Instagram posts back in Feb 2024 🤔

I saw all the hype around this new shonen manga called kagurabachi, read the one chapter that’s released and like it was okkaaaay but don’t get the hype.
On the other hand the first volume of Clock Striker genuinely amazed me. It’s criminal no one is talking about it! The protagonist being an awesome black girl is great, but the art, world building, and fights are all top notch too! Definite recommend to any Shonen fans.
Hey thanks for the rec!

Batman podcast anon: sorry i didn't mention the possible triggers! I just was two episodes in, but i already loved it so much that i simply had to recommend it! I love, love, love Hasan Minhaj so much as Eddie! He is so good and both Podcasts are just so well written?!
No worries its ok! Hasan is great I really miss his show. I just wish that it was a show instead of a podcast.

Not the same anon but thought I'd mention that the spinoff for Batman: Unburied deals with racism, islamophobia and racialized police brutality, due to the protag being the Riddler, who in this podcast is canonically muslim. Figured that your followers should know, in case racialized police brutality and fundamentalist christian violence are sensitive topics for anyone here. There is also a suicide, so tw for that.
Hey thanks!!! I'm gonna wait until I'm in a better headspace to listen to it then. Like please be careful followers!!!

Check out Slate's podcast episode on this with Jemele Hill:
Seeing the coddling Caitlin Clark is receiving from sports media, sports commentators and social media, all the while hating on Angel Reese is so infuriating becos Caitlin Clark is no damsel who needs protecting, we have literally seen her talk smack to other players on the court?? It all goes back to the White supremacist notion of white girls and women being fragile and delicate and in need of protecting from the "mean" Black girls.

I just finished watching the TV show Kindred with Mallori Johnson and found out it was cancelled. I think that’s it for me and mainstream media shows. All the well-written ones get cancelled and all the worst ones keep getting renewed.
Aww I know the feeling friend. LIke there was a show on fox called The Passage that I really loved and ugh it was cancelled after one season. The thing tho is that I honestly think part of the reason that the worst ones keep getting renewed are the same reason why the writers strike is going on. they cut corners with the writers room doing mini rooms and then fire all the writers.
I'll try watching Kindred soon if I have the spoons to handle the heavy themes.
