how insane am i for planning out in the summer an entire house sequel with chase as the diagnostic head, new romances, character deaths, new fellows, episode plots and diagnosis, choosing out songs, listening to a few select melodies that remind me of certain scenes, explaining plotholes in canon, making up an entire episode that would change the whole course of the show, imagining the ending over and over and over, projecting my own fears and insecurities onto the characters, using foreshadowing, repeating history from the original show except the characters went about it differently, thinking of how to showcase the world from chase’s perspective, making an episode just filled with flashbacks from his childhood, thinking of what music to use for the intro plus how it should look like, thinking of how the start would paralell the ending +imagining the last episode and how it would look, feel etc., all in my head and forgetting about it until today when a song lyric reminded me of everything?

Creating a Chase MD pilot because I want to

This is created with unlimited recources, budget, and cast

Show opens as normal, a person we've never seen before bursts into flames and is rushed to the hospital

After the intro we open on Foreman's office, as Chase walks in and starts sifting through the cases

It is immediately apparent that they are doomed to repeat the narrative, as this first Chase/Foreman scene is filled with parallels to the first House/Cuddy scene. Most notably that Foreman is pushing Chase to up his clinic hours.

It is obvious that they are now very close friends

New team is comprised of one man and one woman, and there is talk about the need to hire a third fellow after the last one left

"Why do we need three fellows?" "It's how we've always done it, ever since I started working here"

The main b-plot for this episode is Chase interviewing people. Showing his House-ness and anti-House-ness. as the episode progresses. Getting some season 4 cameos in there, before he eventually gives up

Chase and Foreman have lunch together in that gay little cafeteria and have a major Hilson moment.

This is where Choreman enters some level of canon to those brave enough to believe. Maybe a little hand touch

So many Australian jokes. In this episode only, then people mostly drop them

As they start working on the case, the two fellows discuss their opinions of Chase in the weekly group therapy session in the MRI room. They seem to overall like him but have some complaints.

It is clear they know of House, and some vague details, but not much

Some Choreman jokes, but not in a homophobic way.

The patient is slowly getting worse, and it seems that they will not be able to save them

Chase has his little house eureka moment and decides to MRI a banana or something equally as insane and they crack it

We have our little ending montage, and we see foreman and chase smiling and laughing as they have a drink. Again very gay. The episode fades to black, this could easily be the end, but it's not.

The team is sitting around the room talking about a new case, until Foreman bursts in, looking excited, holding his phone, and asks if the position for a new fellow is still open

He whispers something in Chase's ear and hands him the phone his face lights up

"The job is yours if you want it... alright see you then"

He turns to the team and says "None of you have triskaidekaphobia right?"

Y/n × Chase - Silent hospital, worm heart

It was an unusual afternoon at Princeton-Plainsboro. The hospital, typically filled with hustle and chaos, was surprisingly quiet. With no urgent cases or last-minute patients, most of the doctors were taking advantage of the calm to catch up on reports or leave early.

Y/n, as always, was in the lab. Specializing in laboratory analysis, she had a habit of losing herself among blood samples, reagents, and detailed charts. The lab, with its bright lights and the almost hypnotic hum of machines, was a sanctuary where she could work in peace.

Sitting at the analysis desk, Y/n focused on a case that had caught her attention: an anomalous pattern in a blood sample. Even on quiet days, her scientific curiosity wouldn’t allow her to stay idle. She adjusted the microscope, jotted down data, and absentmindedly chewed on a pen while pondering the results.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Robert Chase was bored. With no intriguing cases to solve, he wandered the hallways, hands in the pockets of his lab coat, looking for something—or someone—to fill his time. Passing by the lab, he paused for a moment, watching Y/n through the glass.

She was focused, her eyes fixed on the microscope, her brow slightly furrowed as she made notes. Chase couldn’t help but smile. He loved the way Y/n immersed herself in her work, her brilliance shining through in every gesture. To him, she was an irresistible mix of competence and sweetness.

He glanced around. The hallway was empty, and the hospital was quiet. The perfect opportunity.

Chase opened the lab door silently and entered. Y/n, so engrossed in her work, didn’t notice his presence until he was right behind her. Before she could turn around, she felt his arms wrap gently around her waist.

"Chase!" she exclaimed, startled but not moving.

"Shh," he murmured softly, leaning closer. "It’s quiet here. No one will interrupt us."

Before she could respond, Chase leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on the curve of her neck. The sudden, delicate touch made Y/n murmur involuntarily, a sound almost inaudible but full of surprise and delight.

Y/n’s hands, holding a pen and a notepad, slackened. She felt her legs go weak, as if her body had lost all control because of that gesture.

"Chase," she managed to say, but her voice was barely a whisper.

"Yes?" he replied, with a smile she couldn’t see but could feel in his tone.

He continued kissing her neck, slowly moving up to the spot just behind her ear. Y/n felt a shiver run down her spine, her muscles, once tense from concentration, completely relaxing.

"You know working this much isn’t healthy, right?" he teased, his lips still brushing her skin.

Y/n chuckled softly, unable to muster the strength to pull away. "You… are impossible."

Sensing that she was entirely relaxed, Chase leaned further, resting his head on her shoulder. Y/n, still seated, tilted her head back, letting it rest against his.

"This is unfair," she murmured, a soft smile forming on her lips.

"What is?"

"You know exactly how to make me forget everything," she replied, closing her eyes for a moment.

Chase chuckled softly, the sound low and comforting. "Maybe it’s because I like seeing you like this… relaxed."

They stayed like that for a few minutes, in a comfortable silence. Y/n felt the warmth of his body against her back, his arms still wrapped around her waist as if he were afraid to let her go.

Y/n finally opened her eyes, a mischievous smile appearing on her lips. "You know someone could walk in here any second, right?"

Chase tilted his head, looking at her with an amused glint in his eyes. "I checked the hallway. We’re completely alone."

"You thought of everything, huh?"

"Of course," he said in a mock-serious tone. "I’m a man of planning."

Y/n laughed, turning slightly in her chair to face him. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the world outside the lab ceased to exist. Chase lifted a hand to gently caress her face, his thumb softly gliding over her skin.

"You’re amazing, you know that?" he said softly.

Y/n felt her heart race, but she managed to keep her smile. "And you’re really good at distracting me."

Chase leaned in, sealing the moment with a tender kiss. Y/n kissed him back, her arms wrapping around his neck as he pulled her closer.

When they finally pulled apart, Y/n sighed, but the unmistakable smile on her lips remained. "Now, if you don’t mind, I need to finish this before someone notices we’re… ‘distracted.’"

Chase stepped back but not before placing one more kiss on the top of her head. "Alright. But don’t forget… I can always come back."

Y/n laughed, shaking her head as he left the lab, leaving her alone again. But this time, her thoughts weren’t on blood samples or charts—her mind was entirely occupied by his touch, his warmth, and the promise that moments like this were far from over.

Now I'm craving some Chase-centric post-series fic in which Chase's years of careful study of how House thinks and behaves and Chase's crutch of asking himself "what would House do?" for difficult diagnoses spawns a full-blown House tulpa that basically haunts Chase 24/7 after Chase becomes the head of the diagnostics department.

Like Chase already says some things during the series that make it sound like he's got a House tulpa running, but a story that really explored that from Chase's deep POV would be fascinating.

Even people who intentionally created their tulpas get freaked out by them sometimes, so imagine how freaked out Chase would be by an accidental tulpa of someone whom he believes to be dead. Chase would think he was seeing ghosts and/or losing his mind.

After Thirteen rejoins the team post-season eight, she and Chase obviously get really close again. Completely platonically of course, and this makes Foreman really jealous.

But of course, because he is the most repressed person in history, he thinks he is still in love with Thirteen

And Chase, being a himbo and an excellent friend, also thinks this and is trying to play matchmaker, which digs Foreman even deeper into this hole because he looks forward to Chases meddling, thinking it because it brings him closer to 13, but really its' because he gets to spend quality time with Chase
