9 февраля 1887 года родился Василий Иванович Чапаев — участник Первой мировой и Гражданской войн, начальник дивизии в Красной армии.

С началом Первой мировой войны был призван в армию, прошёл обучение в унтер-офицерской школе. Кавалер трёх Георгиевских крестов и Георгиевской медали, фельдфебель.

После Октябрьской революции стал организатором отрядов Красной гвардии в Николаевском уезде, командиром полка, бригады, дивизии РККА. Воевал с выступившими против Советской власти уральскими казаками и чешскими легионерами. Был направлен в качестве слушателя первого набора Академии Генерального штаба Красной армии, но покинул её самовольно, не справившись с трудностями в учёбе. Был назначен начальником 25-й стрелковой дивизии, отличился при взятии Уфы. Кавалер ордена Красного Знамени.

Имя Чапаева получило широкую известность после выхода в 1923 году романа «Чапаев» Дмитрия Фурманова, служившего комиссаром в его дивизии, и одноимённого фильма братьев Васильевых в 1934 году.

Vasily Ivanovich Chapayev from Red Comrades, based on a real person. There's two avenues that I can think of, and that's either going with either Vladimir Putin or Arnold Schwarzenegger shown on a poster.

Astronaut Lost On Mars Finds Out Shocking Truth About Humans |Forsaken 2018

in the near-distant future, a space expedition consisting of four astronauts is sent to Mars by Roscosmos. Three of the crewmembers return to Earth, leaving their captain, Alexander Chapaev, alone on Mars. He starts counting his days on the planet, aided only by a still working radio communication with Earth, as well as a robotic drone to keep him company. On Earth, all efforts to bring Alexander back home turn into quarrels between the government and the space agency, until a private investor proposes his help. However, it soon turns out to be a hoax, since the company sending Alexander subsistence for survival decides to turn his broadcast into a reality show, and is not interested in getting the astronaut back to Earth at all. Bereft of his family, Chapaev starts having mind-boggling hallucinations and meets an entity who is revealed to be a sentient Mars lifeform. The film ends with Chapaev not knowing what is real and unreal anymore, while it is hinted that the whole mission was staged only to raise TV ratings among viewers.

In Russia you also have: "a Russian, an American and a German/Frenchman/Jew/Ukrainian/Georgian (the country)". The last ones tend to rotate.

Then there's the Animal cast with stock personalities, like the clever, but cowardly Rabbit, the constnatly-down-on-his-luck Wolf, the sly female Fox, the wise but boorish Bear, the smart Owl, the royal Lion and so forth. Inexplicably, they all live in the same forest.

There's also heroes from a popular novel about the Russian Civil War based (sorta) on real people, who are now more well-known for their joke personalities than the book ones. Division commander Chapaev, his aide Pet'ka, beautiful oversexed machine-gunner An'ka and Furmanov, the dude who documented their alleged exploits, who tends to be the straight man.

Another popular joke set is about heroes from a spy thriller about WWII called the "17 moments of Spring", these jokes tend to be more absurdist. They mostly revolve around the lead character Stierlitz, who is a Soviet spy in Nazi Germany, but also include other characters from the movies.

And a whole host of Jewish jokes (especially Odessa Jewish), mother-in-law jokes, unfaithful husband, traffic and doctor jokes. Plus a TON of political jokes that could get you into a GULAG back in USSR.

Familiarity with these stock characters is expected and primes you for the kind of joke that's gonna be told.

18 января 1904 года родился Борис Андреевич Бабочкин — советский актёр и режиссёр театра и кино, сценарист, педагог. Народный артист РСФСР (1935), Народный артист СССР (1963), Герой Социалистического труда (1974). Лауреат двух Сталинских (1941, 1951) и Государственной (1977 — посмертно) премий.

Родился в семье железнодорожника. Окончил сельскую школу. Участник Гражданской войны. В 1920–1921 годах — сотрудник театральной студии «Молодые мастера» под руководством И.Н. Певцова.

Работал в театрах Иваново-Вознесенска, Могилёва, Костромы, Воронежа, Самарканда, в Московском театре имени МГСПС и Московском драматическом театре. С 1927 года — актёр ленинградского Театра сатиры. В 1931–1935 годах — работал как актёр и режиссёр в Государственном академическом театре драмы имени А.С. Пушкина. В 1935–1940 годах — актёр и режиссёр, а затем и художественный руководитель Большого драматического театра имени Горького. С 1940 года — актёр и режиссёр московского Театра имени Вахтангова. В 1948–1951 и с 1955 года — актёр и режиссёр Академического Малого театра, в 1952–1953 годах — главный режиссёр Московского театра имени А.С. Пушкина.
