Vasily Ivanovich Chapayev from Red Comrades, based on a real person. There's two avenues that I can think of, and that's either going with either Vladimir Putin or Arnold Schwarzenegger shown on a poster.

Red commanders: a former officer of the Life Guards of the Jäger Regiment Ivan Konstantinovich Bubenets, a former officer of the Russian Imperial Army Ivan Semyonovich Kutyakov, and the legendary Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev.

All three, in addition to the Civil War, participated in the First World War and all three had three George Crosses and six Orders of the Red Banner.
