This is probably pretty niche, but I just want to say how much I appreciate the composers who write songs for like, middle school and highschool bands and orchestras. Like, people are specifically writing music for kids at all different skill levels and they're making the songs sound really really cool. It's amazing being a little tot learning how to play a little viola and getting music that's easy enough that you can learn to play it well, but interesting enough that it's entertaining to listen to.

Like, I've been playing songs by Soon Hee Newbold (Viking, Iditarod, Gaelic Castle, Minotaur), Richard Meyer (Cincopations, Moonlight Tango), and Doug Spata (Gargoyles, March of the Wood Elves), from sixth grade through twelfth probably. Those three have some of the coolest shit ever. Seriously, Minotaur is written as like, a score for the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. It sounds so fucking cool. For the part where the Minotaur is killed there's a note of bartok pizz, which is where you grab the string with two fingers and snap it. It fucking rules.
