does lloyd not want to get involved with a royal simply because he doesn't want to be overworked by them? because what if let's say that a royal (not alicia) wants to marry him just as a trophy wife after lloyd did a construction for them? and if that royal promises not to make him work would lloyd get involved and accept marrying into royalty then?

not really? lloyd is very clear about not wanting to marry someone of high status, not particularly because he's afraid they'll put him to work altho that certainly is also a factor, but more that he just simply doesn't care for the pressure.

marrying into a royal family, no matter how 'nice' they might be, will always carry a level of effort and social expectation that marrying a commoner or low noble will not. even if the royal promised (and actually kept their word) to never make lloyd work in his life, he'd still be expected to carry himself with a certain decorum and act in a way proper of the royal family. he'd always be under the public eye, both of the court and the general people.

and that's just if the royal actually keeps their word and doesn't try to get lloyd to work for them anyway after he marries. there will always be a level of power imbalance in that relationship, because no matter how much lloyd may dislike something he can't actually say no without risking the possibility of being accused of treason. especially someone like him, that realistically possess the power and means to overthrow any royal family in the continent without too much difficulty. they'd always have to walk a fine line of how much they can ask of lloyd without him getting upset and starting a rebellion and how much lloyd can say not to before the royal family gets upset and accuses him of disrespect or treason.

heck, just having the kind of power lloyd does is enough to make him a risk to any royal family. if alicia weren't under the influence of the system, keeping her suspicions at bay, she would've absolutely done something to keep him even more in check

Lloyd exhaled a sigh of relief, knowing that he could have been charged with treason if he had not had the title. She would not have left him alone since, despite her compassion, she was at the pinnacle of her power and did not want any subject to threaten that, which was why Lloyd exhaled a sigh of relief.

this is just about lloyd having the ability to stop time. this is not him trying to say no to her or to go against her will, this is just him having a very powerful skill that is potentially threatening to her and the royal family. and he still admits that without the title and effect he would've been charged with treason or at the very least under suspicions for it. alicia herself tells him that if anyone were to try to get between her and him and his time controlling powers she would execute them, because she simply cannot afford to let such an useful skill be on the hands of anyone she cannot control in some way.

being married to someone of higher status means that lloyd will always be near someone who can exert their authority over him and he really hates that idea

Lloyd didn't want to get too close to the queen. Sure, she was being generous with her assistance and making things convenient for Lloyd. But he didn't want to grow too close to her. Never. Ever. He didn't want it. Getting closer to the queen was the same as becoming a neighbor with a boss at work. Sure, a huge wage is nice but if it means giving up boundaries, that is uncomfortable. Why would I do that? My honeypot is full and I have got a strategy to keep it that way. I only need to stop destiny.

not to mention how inherently dangerous the life of a royal is! that's precisely why lloyd was so happy he was isekai'd into the son of a baron and not a count or a duke. because the closer one is to the royal family the more likely they are to get involved in stupidly dangerous stuff like rebellions and conspiracies and courtly schemes. it's just... something to be expected of being near the most powerful people in the kingdom. and he doesn't want to risk it, he just wants a quiet life with his family where nothing bad ever happens and they can all relax together

and to finish things off, lloyd is kind of a romantic. he doesn't want to marry for business or the benefits or to gain anything for himself. he just wants to meet someone nice, fall in love with them and live together a quiet life in his estate

No matter what, he wanted to have a love marriage and lead a cozy life with someone who was not exceedingly high in status. He would be shackling him if he married a princess of a royal family.

so no, i don't think lloyd would not accept marrying into a royal family, no matter what kind of promises they make to him. it's simply not worth the risks nor is it compatible with the kind of life he really wanted. leaving shipping aside, marrying lloyd to a royal just,,, was not the ending he either wished for or that the narrative built up for him and i don't really buy that he would be happy or even satisfied with it tbh (￣～￣；)

but of course, that's just my opinion, you are free to think otherwise nonnie!

New zones, customization options, and Emerald Powers: a recap of the Sonic Superstars cover story

Issue 358 of the Gameinformer magazine was published this Tuesday, and its 12-page column on the upcoming Sonic Superstars revealed a new look into its development, and previewed a number of in-game features and zones.

Here's everything you need to know.

Major takeaways

New zone names: Sky Temple, Pinball Carnival, Lagoon City, Sand Sanctuary, Press Factory, and unannounced Golden Capital.

New Emerald Powers: Avatar, Bullet, Water, Ivy, Vision, Slow, Extra, Super.

Expect vast character customization options in the brand new Items shop.

Select stages in a Generations-style World Map.

New zones

Characters have the choice of going through a normal act or a character-specific act. For example, finishing Act 1 of Speed Jungle Zone as Sonic allows you to choose between either playing the second act of Speed Jungle or an "Act Sonic," an alternate act of Speed Jungle where you zoom as Sonic, running away from a terrorizing Fang the Sniper.

There is reportedly a World Map similar to Generations where you run in a 2D-plane to select a stage.

There is also an items shop where you can trade medals in for customizable parts. Apparent, you can customize your "head, body, arms, legs, accessories color, and something called prototype."

The third zone of the game is reportedly called Sky Temple Zone.

In the zone, there is a mini-game similar to the game "Breakout," where you turn into a ball and aim to break bricks.

The climax or the ending of the zone is a massive storm.

The fourth zone is called Pinball Carnival Zone.

As the name suggests, "a giant pinball arena and fast sequences with fireworks setting off."

The fifth zone is called Lagoon City, which is filled with submerged city ruins and water slides.

Act 1 is mostly above water whereas Act 2 has several underwater sequences.

Amy's character-specific act of Lagoon City is fruit-based, with several gimmicks like a fruit based robots and such.

Sand Sanctuary Zone is the sixth zone of Sonic Superstars and a seventh zone reportedly called Press Factory Zone.

Filenames in the newly released screenshots also disclosed the officially unannounced Golden Capital Zone.

Emerald Powers

Emerald Powers were inspired by the Wisps mechanic from Sonic Colors.

Every stage has a giant gold ring and a giant blue ring. Completing the giant gold rings rewards you a Chaos Emerald and the the blue ring rewards you a medal.

Both special stages have the same central gameplay mechanic: swing from floating bubbles toward the moving objective.

Emerald Powers can be used by using the right stick and operate on a cooldown, with each star post checkpoint replenishing your cooldown meter.

Avatar (Blue Emerald)

Allows you to create clones of yourself.

Useful for defeating any enemy that lies on you path.

Bullet (Red Emerald)

Allows you to direct and shoot your character at a specified direction.

"It's an extremely useful action; it's probably the most useful action for this kind of game," Iizuka said.

Water (Cyan Emerald)

Allows you to interact with any body of water, like swimming freely underwater or climbing up waterfalls.

Ivy (Green Emerald)

Allows you to grow upward vines.

Helpful in reaching higher areas.

Can also be utilized to help your teammates in co-op mode.

Vision (Purple Emerald)

Allows you to see hidden objects like platforms, rings, or items found in the level.

Slow (Yellow Emerald)

Allows the player to slow down everything on screen.

Helpful in tighter platforming sequences or boss encounters.

Extra (White Emerald)

Unlocks character-specific actions.

Sonic – Homing Attack: Unlocks the Homing Attack from the modern titles.

Tails – Tornado Spin: Unlocks a devastating tornado attack that can destroy enemies in front of you

Amy – Hammer Throw: Unlocks the ability for Amy to throw hammers instead of the usual Hammer Swing.

Knuckles – Punch: Unlocks the ability to punch for Knuckles.

Super Form (All 7 Emeralds)

Characters can turn into their Super form after collecting all 7 Chaos Emeralds.

Characters won't have any specific abilities outside of being invincible and becoming faster.

Emerald Powers can still be used in Super form.

Development

The concept of Superstars came from a Zoom call by Naoto Ohshima during the initial COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

Ohshima and Iizuka held producer roles for Sonic Superstars.

Despite hinting at a short development time than expected, Ohshima was impressed by Sonic Team and Iizuka.

"Though Arzest and Ohshima led development efforts on Sonic Superstars, Sonic Team collaborated frequently, with Iizuka and Ohshima constantly sharing ideas of and production duties."

There were talks between Iizuka and Whitehead's team following the release of Mania where concepts were considered, but the project fell through; however, Iizuka does states that he is "pleased that the next generation of Classic Sonic that we talked about with them has been achieved with Superstars."

Iizuka said that the programming for Superstars "is completely unique and done from scratch by Arzest."

Bakugo will become the Ultimate Hero just like Deku

Seeing the hate that the Overhaul arc and vigilante Deku arc gets for some reason, always triggers me. Both of these arcs are important for Deku's growth as a person and also highlights the main theme of the story.

The Overhaul arc was about saving a little girl, and making her smile. It was about how everyone's beliefs and wishes could change the future, and that's the reason why AM wouldn't die like Nighteye predicted.

Because just like everyone's energy came together and channelled in Izuku to defeat Overhaul, I think Bakugo will be the one to get everyone's energy and defeat AFO, in turns saving AM, the hero whose downfall solely weighs on Bakugo's shoulders.

Bakugo will share OFA!!!

It has been foreshadowed so many times!!!

JUST LIKE IN THE HEROES RISING, BKDK WILL DEFEAT THE MAIN VILLAIN, i.e. AFO and Shigaraki, because there are 2 villains and OFA is nothing but "The crystallization of people's hearts joining together as one" in Hawks terms.

Which brings me to my next point...

The Dark Deku arc or how people like to call it "The vigilante Deku arc" was literally about normal civilians who perceive heroes as their knight in shining armor.

About connection and taking a single step for mankind that will lead to big changes. How the first step is always hard but if a person manages to take that single step, the Ultimate hero will rise.

And time and time again, I have said that Uravity will be an Ultimate hero, but it won't be just Uravity. Just like the story in the beginning was about "How I became the greatest Hero" referred to as "How Deku became the Ultimate Hero" changed to "The story of how we all became Ultimate Heroes".

It's a story of how anyone and everyone becomes a Hero.

About how "AM connected to Deku", "Deku connected to his classmates" and "Uravity connected Deku to people"....AM has been saving people his entire life, just like how Deku was taking on villains one after the other even if he himself was battered and bruised and tired.

And these people deemed him as a villain.

But Uravity presented him as a person also in need of saving, as just a regular high schooler who still has so much to learn. Special powers didn't make him special.

Which is why just like Uravity connected people to heroes, and I think Bakugo will carry on her legacy.

There is a reason why Bakugo saw her rise in ch 323, along with her parents and Present Mic (I still don't get why anime removed that scene?) Plus, Bakugo also thought back to this scene in ch 358....

And this will be the part that Horikoshi was referring to, when he said "He has a scene planned, that both Bakugo haters and Bakugo lovers will enjoy". Haters enjoyed it when Bakugo died, but Bakugo lovers will enjoy it when he rises from his ashes to save AM and becomes the Ultimate hero that the story was always pointing towards!!

Pairings: Tav x Halsin / Tav x Astarion Warnings: Oh hey, more angst Words: 631 Summary: Halsin rescues Thaniel, but Tav breaks a rule. And though Halsin and Astarion are bitter rivals, unlike one another in every way, the only thing they can agree on is kicking off in Tav's ass when she does something incredibly dangerous. But it does not go the way they expect.

Tav barely had a moment to collect her breath before Astarion collapsed on her like a dying star.

“How very gods damn dare you!” He seized her by the shoulders, grip so hard it bruised, but his eyes held none of the fury of his voice, only fear.

“Astarion,” Tav sighed. “Can we give it a rest, it’s over. Everything’s fine.”

“No, everything is not fucking fine! Do you have any idea what you just put m—us through with your little stunt?” “C’mon Asty,” Karlach intervened, unsteady on her feet as her last healing potion worked its way through her veins. “No harm, no foul.”

“No! Don’t let a happy outcome overshadow what just happened!”

“You’re overreacting, Astarion,” Shadowheart said.

“I am not.”

“He is not.”

Two voices echoed. 

Astarion and Halsin.

The malignant shadows had dispersed as though banished by sunrise even though the land remained wreathed in darkness. But with its spirit returned, something in the air shifted, lightened. The first whispers of hope scented the breeze.

A miracle, Halsin thought, cradling Thaniel in his arms. But ice cold dread lingered where hope should have bloomed. Seeing Tav on the far side of the portal dredged up a fear that could not be calmed by Thaniel’s peaceful, sleeping face.

Fear that quickly morphed into anger. For the first time ever, he felt kinship with Astarion. He knew exactly what the younger elf felt, knew the exact shape and form and taste of his fury. It bubbled up the back of his throat, tasting of metal and bile.

“Halsin?” Tav reached for him but he shrugged away. 

“I told you to remain here,” he growled through clenched jaw and gritted teeth. 

“I only wanted to…”

“How much help could you have done dead!” Astarion screamed, uncaring of the fey child’s slumber.

“That’s not fair!” Karlach said. 

“No, no,” Astarion countered. “The tadpole in my head, you head, her head, Tav’s head, all our fucking heads – ursine company excluded of course – That’s!! Not fair.”

Tav rose to her full height, tail twitching angrily. “What would you have had me do? Let him die.”

“Yes!” Halsin and Astarion’s voices echoed again and this time they could not ignore it. They exchanged a look, both bewildered yet comforted to find themselves on the same side.

“N-no,” she said, voice wavering from steel to straw in a single syllable. “You don’t…” She looked between the two, lips quivering, eyes watering. The words were there on her tongue but she couldn't say them, she was afraid to say them like this. Tav took a shuddering breath, grateful that Shadowheart and Karlach were there to collect the shattered pieces of herself she knew she was about to leave behind.

“You don’t…You don’t get to pretend to care about me then ignore me. That’s what’s not fair.”

Astarion’s mouth flew open, a retort ready but nothing came, and his mouth shut again with an audible click. Halsin’s face merely burned with embarrassment, his fury melting away to leave behind shame. 

“You both have made it pretty clear that…” Tav stopped again, courage faltering, before it abandoned her wholly. 

But she didn’t care. 

“You’ve both made it pretty clear that I’m not who you want and that’s fine. I’ve accepted that. Made my peace with it. But I don’t understand why…why that also meant that I had to lose you both as friends too.”

“Despite that,” she continued. “I can’t…won’t …stop caring.”

“So there,” she finished.

“Well damn,” Shadowheart whistled. 

“Hell yeah!” Karlach agreed. “C’mon soldier, let’s get you something warm and boozy, you look like you took a bath with a cheese grater.”

Tav smiled, slinging one arm over the barbarian’s shoulder while Shadowheart took up her other. 

The women left the men behind in stunned silence.

I actually don't understand lloyd's plan for a slacker life, like how will he achieve this? Say 402 and the following never happens how can he slack rich if his ability is /what makes him money is working construction?

i mean. he is a noble with a prosperous estate. like. that alone would give him more than enough to have an easy relaxed life where he wouldn't have to worry about money for the rest of his days.

however. a good chunk of the plot has literally been about lloyd finding ways to have extra entries of money just in case.

ch 358 explains it quite neatly:

Lloyd believed it would be unfair for others to benefit from the trade route that he used his own money to safely maintain and operate. So he spent the past few days calculating the cost of maintenance and how much he would need to be paid to make a good profit. The answer was five percent. That covered the maintenance enough, and the remaining money would be used for my fiefdom. That remaining money would serve as Lloyd's lifetime pension and grow his nest egg. I mean, I've got lots of money, thanks to the Dragon King Sponsorship. But you never know. You never knew when or how your source of income would be cut. That was just the way of life. It was not uncommon for trusted banks to go bankrupt on a random day. Nothing was 100% reliable, including his sponsorship from the dragon king. That sleepyhead dragon is surprisingly moody. The way Lloyd saw it, Dragon King Verkis liked to act on a whim. He was a sluggard with a villainous temperament. There's a chance that I may accidentally get on his bad side one day, I must have insurance in place. Yes, the Dragon King's sponsorship was enormously significant, but it was unreliable money, and the rest of the various sources of income had their drawbacks. Similarly, the queen can withdraw her support to our fiefdom at any time if I lose her favor. The other revenue I get from the Lacona Viscounty's tax and water bill is quite small. As a result, any extra source of revenue, such as money from the Benetto Kingdom, would grow his nest egg even more. It's perfect. Stable and abundant.

so. yeah. don't worry about it, lloyd is five steps ahead of everyone at all times. he's got plan a, plan b and plan c just in case.
