Love comes and love goes, relationships end, but it hurts twice as much when she cheats on you, broken promises, dreams fall apart, smiles disappear and tears run down your face, goodbye eternity, welcome ephemerality, becoming opposite, all feelings darken, turn to ash, then black, your mouth turns bitter, you can't taste anything else, bitterness, disgust, a very short relationship, it's May, it would have been a year in August, it went by so fast, it was indecent, it lost its shine in my eyes like the tail in the darkness of a shooting star

Yvan Canagan Zamfir-Alvanja
art by @tt-vision
Full Name: Yvan Canagan Zamfir-Alvanja
Age: 25
Birthday: August 16
Zodiac: Leo
Myers Brigs: Protagonist, ENFJ-A
Race: Human
Height: 6’7.5”
Weight: 275lbs. What, if you are hauling casks of wine and beautiful people around, you have to have the muscle to show for it!
Looks: A strikingly handsome man with features cut from stone. He is a pillar of muscle and strength. His body is covered in scars from being attacked by a mob some years ago, as well as tattoos dotting his form.
Hair: Impossibly long brown-black hair. He has 3B hair when worn naturally, but for the sake of styling he keeps his hair in locs over the course of the winter to keep the maintenance of detangling down.
Eyes: A purple that seems to shift colors in the light. In the sun, they appear lilac. But in the dark stormy climate of Barovia, they take on deeper tone.
Class: Fighter, Whipmaster
Parents:
Ladinus Velvela (bio father) (unknown). Ladinus is Yvan’s birth father. He is not of Vistani heritage, and very little is known about him. He hails from the far Northwest region of Barovia. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Catalina Zamfir (bio mother) (✝ deceased). Catalina was a Vistana woman and Yvan’s birth mother, though he never knew her due to her passing when he was born. It is her family that took him in when Ladinus cast him out.
Margereta Zamfir-Ardelean (bio aunt/adoptive mother) (alive). Margereta is Catalina’s eldest sister, a bright and happy soul and the diamond of her clan. She has six children besides Yvan, so when Ladinus approached her about the care of Yvan, she was happy to take him in.
Anton Zamfir-Ardelean (uncle by marriage/adoptive father) (alive). Anton is the husband to Margereta and father to her children. He is a man of few words and proves his love through action. Family is everything to this man. He cares deeply for Yvan and curses Yvan’s father for abandoning his boy.
Siblings: Yvan has no biological siblings, as he is the one and only child of both Ladinus and Catalina. However, he has many cousins. Margereta’s children are the closest thing he has to siblings. He is the fourth oldest of her flock.
Sofia Zamfir-Ardelean, 27. The eldest daughter, she still lives with Margereta and Anton along with her husband Emil. They have a daughter and she is currently pregnant with her second child.
Gabriela Zamfir-Ardelean, 27. Gabriela is Sofia’s twin sister. She left her home clan to marry her longtime lover Lulia in another clan. She has become a wonderful weaver and artisan alongside her wife who raises sheep.
Stefan Zamfir-Ardelean, 26. The third child of Margereta and Anton, he is a a quiet young man and enjoys scholarly activities. He no longer lives in Barovia, instead having found his calling in Daggerford where he owns a bookstore and a large maine coon cat named Gyb. The clan visits him every time they travel beyond the mists.
Andrei Zamfir-Ardelean, 23. A spirited boy, Andrei dreams of glory as a warrior for the Untamed clan under the guidance of Vasile Cel Tradat. He practices sword fighting with a rapier a family member in Yester Hill forged for him.
Cezar Zamfir-Ardelean, 21. The second youngest of the children, Cezar is a sensitive and outgoing boy who is as practical as they come. He is a family man like his father, and currently head over heels for a girl from another clan by the name of Martzia. She does not return his affections, despite his grand displays of affection.
Camelia Zamfir-Ardelean, 18. Sweet, little Camelia. She is the apple of her mother’s eye and the kindest soul to grace Barovia. She is quiet and shy, but loves reading like her older brother Stefan. One day, she hopes to join him in his shop and apprentice as a book binder.
Heritage: Yvan hails from his mother’s Vistani clan of the Starseekers. His father, though, is not Vistana. The union of Catalina and Ladinus was a controversial one, as Catalina’s family feared for her safety in the hands of this outsider without an origin. Still, she was wooed by him, and soon they married and she became pregnant with Yvan. The pregnancy was a difficult one, and her clan did all they could to keep her comfortable despite Ladinus insisting that he take her somewhere else for care. The clan refused, already not trusting him with Catalina. She ended up passing, to which Ladinus left in the night with Yvan. For many years Yvan was raised away from his mother’s clan, much to their dismay. They never gave up searching for him. While in the care of Ladinus, he learned the ways of the land. How to track, to hunt, to survive. Though it soon became clear that Yvan was not the type for this way of life in such solitude. Ladinus soon gave up, approaching Margereta and Anton to take their nephew as their own. They obliged, overjoyed with his return to his mother’s clan. Ladinus left that night, and Yvan has not seen him since.
Religion: Yvan follows the way of the Fates and the Great Tapestry, the core Vistani belief system. It is a laidback lifestyle, involving the acknowledgement that your story is being woven as it is told and their is no predetermined path or true “destiny”.
Hobbies: Yvan thoroughly enjoys all of the arts. Having travelled for such a long time, he has had the chance to immerse himself in activities of many cultures. He loves music and poetry, and has a good set of pipes on him. He sings on the low end of bass, but gets shy so normally he will only hum along to music. (Example Here) Even then, his voice could resonate and break open boulders. He also adores storytelling, he likes to share stories around a fire with his friends and family. He gets REALLY into it.
Likes: Animals (dogs especially, like his cane corso Boris), wine and mead, teaching new skills to others, the smell of ozone as a storm rolls in, the feeling of rain on his skin, exploring ancient places, comfortable silence shared between (lovers) friends, incense, PDA, a cool swim in a river or lake.
Dislikes: The ocean, closed spaces, funerals, shirts (clothing in general. If he could be a nudist, he would), sitting still for too long, and places with a hot climate/high humidity.
Strengths: Physically, he is extremely capable. He can hoist just about anything over his shoulder, including barrels, hay bales, and particularly cute bards (if they consent of course). He is fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He’d much rather die than cut a deal with a devil. Yvan is also very level-headed and is able to keep his emotions on an even keel, he can remain calm in even the most dire of situations.
Weaknesses: Though he says he likes to forgive and forget, he has a tendency to hold grudges. He is EXTREMELY slow to anger, so once someone pushes him over the edge or breaks his trust there is very little one can do to go back on it. However, he is empathetic and merciful to a fault. When he was attacked by the mob, he implored Constantin to not hurt them, as the villagers were clouded by their prejudice and didn’t understand. He also seems to have a particular weakness to the Dragonborn of the party. In recent events, he had to keep his cool when said Dragonborn was threatened. Usually he doesn’t feel so compelled to violence, but his instincts took over for that moment. Who knows, perhaps it’ll become more of a common occurrence..
Goals: To find his person he is going to live for. While he is perfectly happy and healed alone, he lives to serve and his happiness comes from the overall content of those around him. If there is anything he can do to help, he’ll do it.
Character Background/Lore: Of Snow and Song Vuk & Voron

Chaturjirajah Singh
Muqti Jagirdar Chaturjirajah Singh Bhonsale al-Asad, Iqtadar of the Jagir of Daksin and Dan, Raz Tupa, acknowledged progenitor of the royal Chowtasingh line of Ranisthan. All portraits of him are based on this 17th century one, done in his lifetime and one that he reputedly didn't like because the artist gave the impression that his eyes were closed. Reports that the artist was executed because of this are unproven historically and that was not the nature nor personality of Chaturjirajah Singh. It is said that the artist did a new appropriate portrait but only this one survived and the other is no longer in existence, although 19th-20th century Neo-impressionist painter and Pointillist Jules Auguste Cezar claimed to have seen it.

Cezar Ferreira Accused Of Taking A Dive After 13 Second TKO Loss At PFL 9
Cezar Ferreira suffered an apparent injury and a TKO loss just 13 seconds into his light-heavyweight play-off fight against Marthin Hamlet. The Brazilian opened up with a body kick and immediately fell to the floor after throwing it, clutching his other leg. Hamlet swarmed with ground strikes to score the TKO victory. The Norwegian prospect initially celebrated his win before later admitting he had a lack of pride in the method of his victory. Earlier in the evening, Chris Camozzi picked up a lopsided decision win over Cory Hendricks. The UFC veteran took to social media to reveal Ferreira was injured heading into his fight with Hamlet and claim the Brazilian took a dive. “Huh. That’s a dive by Cezar,” Camozzi wrote on Twitter. “I saw him at the weigh ins, black and purple leg. My coaches saw it too. He showed up for a show paycheck @PFLMMA can’t believe they cleared him to fight” Huh. That’s a dive by Cezar. I saw him at the weigh ins, black and purple leg. My coaches saw it too. Ingrid Godon
In this post, Ingrid talks about her working process, and she shares stunning illustrations from some of her books, including the ‘Ik Wou’ trilogy with words by Toon Tellegen, and ‘Dantesken’ which features over 600 pages of autonomous drawings. She also shares wonderful fabric sculptures, ceramics and textile art.
Visit Ingrid Godon’s website
Ingrid: When I was a child, I was always watching. From a distance. Who did what, and how they did it. I drew. Not what I saw, although I did store the images in my mind. One day, they would come out. Drawn. School didn’t work out, but I kept drawing. I met Rik Van den Brande, an illustrator and teacher, at the academy. He took me under his wing and I kept drawing. I soon got assignments as an illustrator. I was working! Drawing became my work.
Educational publishers gave me assignments. This led to the creation of ‘Nellie & Cezar’ in 1995, which, via an educational detour, turned into a short book which remains popular with toddlers and teachers to this day. It became a success in many versions, animated movies were made from it, and Nellie & Cezar became great puppets. And I kept drawing, especially for children.
I made ‘Waiting for Sailor’ in 2000, and took the initiative for a story of my own for the first time. My dear colleague André Sollie wrote my story and I drew. That was the start of an international story. The book won many awards, and was published in English, French, German and Korean.
Foreign publishers were now asking me to make books for them as well. Often the German, French, Swedish or English books were never even published in Dutch. I received more awards, and in 2020 I was longlisted for the ALMA for the fourth time.
Photography has played an important role in my life for a long time now. A series of photographs could grab me, and I could go to work with it. For instance, I became enthralled by the work of Belgian photographer Norbert Ghisoland. He made portraits of ordinary people in his studio in the Borinage, an industrial region, each of them dressed to the nines, but there is a great deal of misery behind the well-groomed facade. This became the foundation for my work which was mainly aimed at adults: IK WOU (I Wish). Toon Tellegen wrote the text for the first series of portraits for this book; 33 portraits of serious people. Dressed to the nines. I drew them.
IK WOU became a trilogy, with IK DENK (I Think) and IK MOET (I Must) as parts two and three.
The trilogy has been successful, not just in Belgium and The Netherlands, but also in the French and German-language regions. It also led to beautiful exhibitions, with a large exhibit in Frankfurt being the tentative highlight. In Cologne, I displayed the works from IK WOU in combination with the children’s portraits of August Sander in 2016. I WISH, the American edition of IK WOU, was published in the spring of 2020. At the end of 2020, its portraits were supposed to be in an exhibition at C.G. Boerner in New York City, but this was cancelled due to Covid-19.
2018 was an important year for me. For the first time, I made a book without a story. Unless the viewer finds a story in there, of course. DANTESKEN: over 600 pages of drawings, an explosion of what goes on in my head. For me as an artist – because that is how I finally started seeing myself as well – this was an important step. More than ever before, I realised the importance of entrusting the paper (or canvas or wood or printing press or clay or fabric) with lines and shapes. I can do no different. I keep drawing.
Recently, I started making little sculptures out of fabric: three-dimensional drawings, like puppets stepping out of my drawings.
I’ve also been working more and more with ceramics and textile art.
My work is becoming increasingly autonomous, and diverges more and more from merely illustrating. Drawings live lives of their own, become works in their own right, sometimes with a story, sometimes starting from a story, sometimes from nothing.
I have no style; I have the Ingrid Godon style. I’m continuously looking for the right way to tell my story, rustling around in my box of materials, alternating between pencil and paint, covering it with a paint roller, cutting into wood and printing it, scribbling on photographs. I keep searching.
I mainly draw people who – like me – look in all directions and are curious about what goes on in front of them. They sometimes look away, but they are always very present. I have at times – on request – drawn landscapes. But even then, I could not resist placing a person in the landscape here and there. Looking, like I do. I search continuously, take different paths, and keep looking. Full of wonder.
In the meantime, I keep working on commissions, I take the initiative to make books, I keep searching for the right pen line or brush stroke, the images keep flowing from my head, and I keep drawing. I draw and I draw.

Reds' STRPC on the verge of defeat: Parlade
#PHnews: Reds' STRPC on the verge of defeat: Parlade
MANILA – With the series of voluntary surrenders coming from its ranks, the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA)'s Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC) is now on the verge of collapse and defeat.
This, according to Southern Luzon Command (Solcom) chief, Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade, Jr., in a statement forwarded to the Philippine News Agency last week.
"The STRPC is on the verge of collapse, the people no longer want them, especially those vulnerable people living in far-flung areas whom they had exploited for so long. Wherever they go people report their presence to us, resulting in the series of armed engagements," he added.
He said the best option for the remaining NPA members affiliated with the STRPC is to voluntarily surrender and return to the folds of the law so that they can help in building better, more productive communities before the long arms of the law catch up with them.
"While the Kamatayan (Makabayan) Bloc members are desperately haggling to block the budget of the NTF ELCAC, nine NPA members of the STRPC returned to the fold of the law in several areas," Parlade said.
Among them are five communist terrorist group members including a certain "Darwin", Vice Leader of "Pltn 2," "Kilusan Larangan Guerilla" (KLG) Narciso, Sub-Regional Military Area (SRMA) 4D, who surrendered in Kalayaan, Laguna, and General Nakar, Quezon, bringing along three firearms on Sept. 13.
On the same day, four NPA terrorists of "Platun Aque," KLG MAV, SRMA 4D in Monteclaro, San Jose Mindoro also voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
"Meanwhile, three active members of Platun 4A4 of KLG Cezar STRPC, escaped to Baler, Aurora but eventually decided to surrender peacefully. Windel Moral Prado, 32-years-old, alias 'FPJ/Bekit,' Salenda Rosas Roldan alias 'Lara/Renren', 18-years-old and Romel Fajardo, 31-years-old, said they could no longer stand the massive operations in Southern Tagalog," he said.
He added that these surrenders follow the earlier surrender of alias "Ed," "Willy," and "Bong," on August 24 at Real Quezon.
A total of 666 NPAs from Southern Tagalog, he said, have laid down their arms and rejoined civil society. They have availed of the benefits offered by the NTF ELCAC thru the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and Amnesty Cluster.
Adding to the communist rebels' woes in Southern Tagalog last September 15 was the overrunning of security forces of an NPA terrorist temporary area at Barangay Abuyon, San Narciso, Quezon.
Seized in the operation were three high-powered firearms, landmines, and pamphlets from the Makabayan bloc while another encounter with communist terrorists took place at Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City on the same day.
