There's video of Larry doing press for that museum opening

I listened to the press! You can tell he's still a little bit of a shy awkward dude, but it's interesting hearing him talk like he's coming to the end of things and looking back. You definitely get that vibe off of him. People say he was joking, but there's a moment where he does say, "This might be my last interview" to everyone there, saying that he doesn't really think he has much else to say now that he's well and truly retired, at least nothing he hasn't felt he's said a million times before. I don't really think he was 100% joking about that haha He's got the rest of his life to enjoy and seems to have been liking staying at home and being retired. It's kind of melancholy to me!

(though he did mention that some of his prior teammates do podcasts and he might show up on some of those, and I'm pretty sure he's talking about Cedric Maxwell, who's alluded to trying to get him, Robert Parrish, and Kevin McHale to pop in. Robert and Kevin apparently were pretty into the idea, but Cedric didn't seem to think Larry would--for good reason--and I didn't really think he would either, but hearing Larry even float the idea during a press conference was surprising and I'm kind of hopeful for it).

This past year has been so interesting. Larry all but disappeared for a while after he retired from the Pacers' front office, and then the past few months has just been coming out and showing up places and doing things. Commercials and openings and interviews and events and all that.

He's mentioned before that he doubts he's gonna live to 70 years old, as someone with his height and health issues, so I'm wondering if, at 67, he's deciding to just button some things down. But that thought makes me sad so I'm not going to keep going on about it ahaha

(worse yet? she isn’t entirely wrong!) lisa is highly intelligent, extremely thoughtful with her responses and actions, and is a huge believer in both balance and karma. her voracious appetite for learning has earned her academic and musical accolades alike. being surrounded by idiots (her words, not mine!) can make margot feel isolated from other people in her circle since they don’t always share her tastes. despite that still, hazel sticks to what she knows is right and does her damndest to make the world a better place. and yes, they’ve tried to get their family to help too, but… well, that isn’t an easy task.

personality description :: to anyone else, nate seems like a normal teenager: a troublemaking little shit who causes mischief and chaos wherever he goes regardless who it’ll end up affecting. in truth, his actions come from a sore lack of attention, prompting him to act out as a way of gaining people’s attention. this has morphed into a practical joker attitude; max plays pranks on people he likes to show that he cares, and pulls mean-spirited ones on those he doesn’t like. while he can be impulsive and selfish at times, bart does give a shit about his family. he tries to help them and offer his support in the only way he knows: pranks and checking up on them, making sure they’re okay and that his wisecracks didn’t leave them worse for wear.

appearance description :: being an older woman requires a certain manner of dress to seem appropriate. marge is a master in this ancient art of motherhood; she has one outfit that she really likes, owning multiple of the same dress in case the one she’s wearing gets dirty. thanks to diana’s past careers, her closet is also chock-full of past uniforms: her mayoral suit, flight attendant uniform, and police officer uniform among others. she keeps her hair up out of her face so that it doesn’t get in the way during her day to day life. similar to her daughter, lisa anne wears a string of pearls around her neck. these are more for comfort than anything. what’s a woman to do without some sort of accessory?

personality description :: generally quite kind and sweet to people, esther almost never swears, though she has come very, very close. she is fiercely protective of her family and can be a bit of a mama bear when provoked. occasionally has fits of explosive anger when being pushed too far — but this always falls apart and prompts plenty of apologies to the people involved. anything that is out of her definition of a normal life is revered as something special, and she takes joy in the moments where she can indulge in new things and experiences. marge often seems to be quite tired and overworked - and she is, what with having to take care of her hapless husband, mischievous son, and intellectual daughter all at the same time.

I had forgotten how audacious Ninotchka is when viewed in the context of the volatile international politics of 1939, a year teetering on the brink of a world war that had already begun in Britain when the film was released in November. All of the jokes about Stalin's show trials ("There are going to be fewer but better Russians"), about the ineffectual economic planning ("I've been fascinated by your five-year plan for the past 15 years"), and about the deprivations suffered by the Soviet people feel edgy, even a little sour, when we remember that almost everyone was just about to embrace the Soviets as a valued ally against the Third Reich. It's a film that shows a bit less of the "Lubitsch touch" than of the cynicism of Billy Wilder, who co-wrote the screenplay. That it transcends its era and still feels vital and funny today has mostly to do with Greta Garbo, whose shift from the Party-line drone to the vital and glamorous convert to capitalism, along with the delicate way she retains elements of the latter on her return to Moscow, is beautifully delineated. That it was her penultimate film is regrettable, but except for her definitive Camille I think it's her greatest performance.

It might surprise some younger fans to learn that the tenures of Boston Celtics Hall of Famers “Pistol” Pete Maravich and Larry Bird overlapped for a season on the storied franchise both played for, Maravich signing on for a swan song to his storied career just as The Hick From French Lick’s got started in the 1979-80 NBA season.

And as is not that unusual, the two basketball legends butted heads a bit at first, going at it in the heat of a game after a play did not go the way one thought it ought to according to teammate and Boston legend in his own right Cedric Maxwell.

Speaking to NBC Sports Boston about a recent on-court kerfuffle between the Miami Heat’s Erik Spoelstra, Jimmy Butler, and Udonis Haslem, Maxwell recalled a similar incident going down between Bird and Maravich.

Per Cornbread, Maravich passed to Bird as the future star found himself quickly double-teamed.

“We come to the timeout, and Pete Maravich says to Larry, ‘Larry, Larry, they’re double-teaming you,” said Maxwell. “‘You can’t force up those kind of shots.’ Larry looks up and goes, ‘If you were any damn good, they wouldn’t be double-teaming me.’”

“This is one Hall of Famer to another,” he added. “I was in shock.”

“Later, they talked and worked it out. Guys get into each other’s face all the time, but it’s not as public as that was,” continued Maxwell, referring to the Heat kerfuffle.

“You’ll see that all the time with players, especially if you’re competitive.”

Most Hall of Famers are by nature, and while Spoelstra may be headed to Springfield at the end of his coaching career, we have to imagine it was a shock of an entirely different order for Maxwell to have witnessed.
