Yavin and Lar'Bhar are players of some yet undetermined yautja sport, because I like the idea that not every yautja has to be a hunter. Champion-grade. I drew this instead of working on my comic bc i'm terrible.

What Larry bird biography books do u recommend ?
Well, there's Larry's autobiographies "Drive" and "Birdwatching"--he likes telling stories but he's also a bit dry and unadorned in how he tells them sometimes. Which works fine for me, as someone who doesn't mind hearing things in peoples' own voices and also useful to me doing research, but might not be as entertaining/fun for other people haha Then there's "When the Game was Ours," which is a book about both Larry and Magic that focuses mostly on their rivalry, but also touches on their preNBA and some post-playing times. This was one of the bigger sources I used for my project and some of the doodles I do. A lot of good stories and musing from both Larry and Magic, plus a bunch of other people Jackie MacMullan interviewed for the book.
(Funfact: Larry and Magic's friendship apparently deepened after working on the book together, because there were a lot of feelings that the other person was unaware of that was never really spoken until the book, which I think is really funny. Like they both read the book over and went "Huh...I had no idea he felt that way o: ")
Also, very random, but there's this book that was written for Middle Schoolers back in 1982 called "Basketball's Magnificent Bird: the Larry Bird Story" that actually spends a lot of time talking about him as a kid and in high school and college, since he would've only been a few years into the NBA at that time. It's got a few pictures and even some interviews with Larry's Grandma and Mom. You can find it on archive.org, definitely not in print anymore!
(My favorite picture from the book--look at that hick:
"When the Game was Ours" is definitely the one I'd say is the most worth reading though. I love that book. It's almost like a companion piece to "Courtship of Rivals," the Larry and Magic documentary.
There's more stuff I've read, but they're about the Celtics as a whole, so less Larry-focused. Hope you can find these at your library or online!

Hi there!
Are you currently doing commissions or planning to do some?
Looking at you Yautja art makes me scream!!!! I love it so much uurgh!
Hiya!
I'm glad you like my yautja art! It makes me happy that people still like how I draw those guys, even though I haven't done it as much these days haha
My commissions are currently closed as I catch up on a backlog from when I was unemployed (currently have a gig, which is why I'm slower in finishing off said list ahhhh). I might open up a few slots later on in the year when I'm caught up and when things at work have slowed down a tiny bit! Thanks so much for the interest!

I recently came across this vintage ornament of Larry Bird and I kept it not because I wanted it but because I immediately thought of your blog and fanart of him.
I literally gasped when I saw it I was like 'WAIT I KNOW EXACTLY WHOD LIKE THIS!!!!' and I kept it because I liked the idea of sending it to you (even though i have no way to give it to you! Lol).
Ah, well, enjoy!

*Sharpie for reference of size lol.
Ahahah I love it!! It makes me happy when people think of me, it honestly does. Especially when it's for silly things like this. Thank you so much for sharing.
If you end up actually wanting to send it to me, I can give you my PO Box and help pay the shipping. He can have a special place on my mother in law's tree this year haha

Happy Ichiro HOF Induction day
another lil ichiro doodle before I go back to working on commissions.
i used to look at a lot of sports photography to try and practice poses in motion back when I was in school for animation. I still enjoy doing that sometimes.

People saying it's a cute idea that Larry didn't want to become friends with Magic because he wouldn't be able to compete against him as well, but that's not an idea i had, that's something Larry actually said hahaha
"We didn't like each other that much. It was too hard. We were trying to beat each other year after year, and people kept comparing us. I wanted what he had, so I didn't want to get to know him, because I knew I'd probably like him, and then I'd lose my edge."
"He's a happy go lucky guy. If he and I got to be really good friends then go out on the court, he could play the same game, but I couldn't. That's just the way it is."
Sometimes i think about how Magic wanted to be Larry's friend since he was 18 years old, only to be turned down constantly until the days it actually mattered. It's really that type of anime rivalry haha
Sorry, thinking about these guys a lot again, since I'm writing that Thing.
