What do you think the general reaction would be towards a darling who is very relaxed and apathetic? Doesn't have strong reactions to things, doesn't get attached, doesn't worry. Even when faced with pain or suffering she simply accepts it and smiles. Completely detached from everything and everyone. Treats everyone the same, polite but distant. No fear of anything.
I could see sadistic yanderes like Jade getting frustrated because there's no way to truly distress her, but I'm curious about what you think he and the others would think.
An apathetic MC has to be the strongest darling out of all of them.
Indifferent to everything, even the yanderes. Uncaring about every little thing.
Let me explain how everyone would react.
Jade, our sadistic yandere responds to your apathy with his scariest expression. A calm smile. On the outside, he's as calm as ever, but on the inside, his mind would give seasoned war vets nightmares. Jade sees your apathy as a challenge. He's both angry and excited at your seemingly unbreakable nonchalance. Angry, because he can't seem to affect you no matter how hard he tries. And excited, because this means whatever finally causes you to snap will give him a once-in-a-lifetime kind of satisfaction. You know the saying....There's nothing like making a strong person cry, and he looks forward to that day with baited breath.
As for the others.........
They hate it. They love you, but they hate it. They know that what they're doing isn't the most ideal, but they do everything they do out of love. So please just say something! Say that you love them or hate them, they don't care what. Smile, laugh, cry, just do something! React!
Your lack of a response drives them up a wall. They have you and are happy about that. It's just that you don't ever acknowledge them, and all they crave is your attention and affection. That bleeding wound in their hearts is never full when you’re like this.
So please, they're begging you, just smile, say that you love them, or do anything! They'll give you whatever you want, just don't look at them like they're a stranger. The yanderes that are affected by it are Riddle, Ace, Deuce, Trey, Cater, Jack, Ruggie, Azul, Kalim, Vil, Epel, Idia, Malleus, Silver, Sebek.
Doesn't care, Leona is the King of not giving a shit, and while he is annoyed that you refuse to show him any affection of any kind, he doesn't really care about it as much as the others do.
The big thing is that he doesn't really care about how you feel about this. As a true possessive, he only really cares that you're all his and his alone. He's not one of those weak herbivores that desperately need your love and affection to survive. You being here is enough. And you’re staying whether you like it or not.
(I have an idea in my head that Leona and the darling MC are one of those married couples that look like they just barely tolerate each other, Leona still loves her but he’s not very loving in his behavior, so in this case he doesn't care if you're smiling or crying all he does care about is that you're his)
Floyd, like the others, hates your apathy, but he's very angry about it. With a normal MC, Floyd enjoys watching you react. Watching the fear and panic fill your eyes is fun to him. His shrimpy being boring and not reacting is boring. And he, like Jade, will try to force a reaction out of you. It doesn't work he'll keep trying till he gets one. He doesn't see that as hurting you, but as showing you how he loves you.
Jamil's UM gives him a win here, because he can force you to act affectionate with it. But the blank-eyed stare remains despite how hard he tries. And then he hates your apathy even more, because deep down he knows that it’s fake. Just like the rest of your 'acceptance'. Like the others, all he wants is for you to love him. And even you being brainwashed can't make him feel better.
Rook on the complete opposite end of the spectrum finds your dismissal of his acts ad endearing. No matter what you say or do, Rook finds you as his most important person, and that will never change been , no matter what yo do or say, he'll always be completely obsessed with you. And your lack of a reaction is equally infatuating to him. He wants to know why you're like this and wants to push the boundaries of what you can take. No matter what, he will always be obsessed with you, and he'll never push you to change because he loves your apathy too.
Platonic yanderes, Grim + Staff, don't mind your behaviour unless it affects them. Besides your apathy hurts the yanderes that want to force their tongues down your throat so they couldn't care less about your apathy. If it does affect them, then and only then, will they push you to change.
Ortho and Lilia on the other hand have a problem with it. One of the things they care about is seeing you be with your yandere And that yandere being happy. So like Jade and Floyd they'll try to force you to change the way you act.
Ortho is nicer about it because, he cares about you like his brother does. Lilia isn't, because he wants you to stop this childish phase and just accept what you're given with a genuine smile on your face.
But really, the only winner here is you. Even if you're stuck with them, isn't it worth it to make them suffer too?

~☆screaming just to see who's louder
k.bakugou x tough!reader
based on why try"by Ariana Grande
Tumblr media
"I've been living with devils and angels"
You grew up in a harsh environment. Paying bills was always a scramble. Mean kids at school were never interested in your company or the social rejection that would come with it due to your 'ratty and disgusting' used clothing. It didn't help when you had to go without a shower cause the water bill was too high the previous month. The daily stress fights didn't help soothe your young mind either. You grew up quick, knowing that you either own the world or the world owns you
He grew up in a nice home, two parents who loved each other, constantly being praised and adored. He was strong and secure in what he wanted to be. He eventually had to process the weights such perfection came with, but his blonde hair always had a halo glow from the bright sparks in his palms. .
"Realize you and I are in the same boat"
After meeting at the entrance exam, both of you had a resolved hatred for the other. you were kind and gentle, a contrast to what you always knew. He was harsh and abrasive, a trait developed from his mother's firey personality and his own inflated ego. The first interaction was an immediate clash of heads when you politely asked him to lean over so you could see the presentation better. He took that as you trying to insult his existence and that you decided he didn't deserve to be there. It ended with you both in the same arena.
Over time, being in the same class softened spikes enough to realize you both were just hungry to become the best versions of yourselves for yourselves. Weighed down by desperation and a lack of patience.
"Kills me how you love me, then you cut me down, I'll do the same"
No one knew how to handle you two. Even teachers were conflicted. At the USJ incident, and the camp attack, you and Bakugou worked in perfect sync. Almost crazy looking smiles on your faces. The Pussy Cats even assumed you were "mates".
When Katsuki was kidnapped, you were the first to agree to saving him. You had been right alongside Midoriya when he had been taken, reaching out with that same desperation. The desperation was what burned you alive.
You two spent so much time together, bickering but with smirks and sweet smiles thrown in. Then, he'd say something cruel, and you wouldn't put up with it, always spitting a vile reply back in his face. Once the dorms were established, you both got into so many violent screaming matches that Aizawa had to switch your rooms. The fights always ended with you crying and him overworking himself because, as agonizing as the other could be, you both wanted each other close. You wanted to burn, and you wanted him to burn with you.
"We've been living like angels and devils"
He was powerful, smart, talented, and attractive. He was worshipped like a God, but crumbled like false idols always do. His wings slowly lost their pristine whiteness as he clawed for success. His anger was a weak cry for 'more, more, more'. Yet, Angels can never be God, and he wasn't even God's favorite.
You were strong but never shiny enough. Always in the shadow of bright halos, electric bolts, shining smiles, and golden hearts. You spend hours every day after class, wrecking your body to gain at least a little more strength so you'll finally be able to own the world instead of being a slave to its bitterness. Everyone knows devils work in secret. otherwise, they're cast out entirely. Devils have to steal every bit of recognition and success they get. Their hard work will never be acknowledged or seen as worthy because their desire is deemed as ugly.
"I'm loving the pain, I never want to live without it"
You and Katsuki finally became official when you both realized your anger was passion. It was that same fire inside, and it was being mutually stoked by your similarities and drive. You fought constantly. Over stupid things that would turn into big things. A regular back and forth, tit for tat but with bursts of rage that left your ears ringing. However, the fights always ended in a rough kiss. Both of you are just so pent up with existence and goals that you have nowhere to put your uncontrolled anxieties onto each other. It always ended with Katsuki making you both an overly spicy dinner to irritate you while you huffed and found a movie you knew he hated, falling asleep in each other's arms halfway through.
"Through it all, you could still make my heart skip"
Sometimes, there'd be days on end of cold shoulders, silent treatment, passive aggression. It was confusing for everyone watching, but you always ran back to him because you knew he loved you more than anyone ever could. Anyone who has a lot of love could give you more, but he gave you all of his everything. He gave you his flaws, his attention, his support, his adoration, and his respect. He saw how capable you were and the strength you earned through hard work. Those quiet days were never lonely. Other people were blind to the quick love filled glances, the random dinners left in front of your door, and the perfectly prepared protein shakes left on his nightstand when he got back from training. They didn't see the single text you'd get during those times, "still love you, pretty."
"So why do we try?"
You asked him this question once during your post-fight ritual, and he looked down at you with an incredulous smile, his furrowed brows making the playful disbelief clear.
"Baby, look at us. You drive me insane."

MHA and the bystander effect (long post)
MHA's society suffers heavily from the bystander effect.
I wish that this plot point was further explored and this could of been where we actually take all mights character somewhere and not waste him on the whole iron might bs.
It can be argued that we first see this as early as the first chapter where we have people simply standing there watching a hero take down a villain. In all retrospect when I see this I genuinely think of some kind of performance, the hero is a glorified soldier that has to elegantly perform their duty while ensuring the safety of lives and entertaining them.
Tumblr media
We then have the attack with bakugo and the sludge villain. People again are standing there watching another performance go down except here the heroes don't know what to do and it can be argued that they aren't trying hard enough at all. The heroes look at the situation, say they don't have any compatible quirk that helps the situation and simply stand in the sidelines waiting for someone to come and help that's after the manh failed attempts. Now this absolutely wouldn't work considering the victim in this circumstance was getting choked to death and him struggling even more literally caused a fire and property damage. I think it's interesting how no one thought of simply aiming at the sludge villains eyes (his obvious weak spot) and it was izuku in his panic that actually helped save Katsuki and gave all might the strength and confidence to step up and do something. What's even more interesting is that at that moment all might like the other bystanders was also contributing to the bystander effect simply standing there distanced from the fight and involved in it at the same time.
Tumblr media
The third time we see this is during the UA entrance exams. Everyone is focused on getting points and destroying robots not really paying attention to their surroundings. After releasing the zero pointer everyone priorities themselves and starts to run with no one sparing ochako (who is injured) an eye and offering to help her. Rather the unconscious thoughts are that someone else will help her and it's full of people trying to prioritise themselves as this is also an exam. Izuku also priorities himself and tries to get away until he sees ochako and this is the second time where he recklessly runs into danger.
I think what's really interesting is that nedzu made this the point of the test which is something that iida says to izuku when they meet again. Iida points out that saving peoples lives and helping them is indeed the point of the test and heroism yet the test is very much structured in a way where you need to destroy to save and you need to prioritise yourself which can be the test just being a microcosm for the real hero society.
Tumblr media
We mainly and clearly see the bystander effect in action when it comes to shigaraki tomuras backstory. It can be argued that this is one of the major reasons what drives shigaraki to villainy. Throughout tenko's backstory people see him suffer yet they don't help him physically at all or are quite late to do so. This starts from his father's punishments to him aimlessly roaming the streets scared and alone just for all for one to come along and offer a hand to him. A villain ends up helping a child instead of the people who are supposed to do so (Iam ignoring the contents of chapter 420 that revealed that AFO was behind this all along)
Tenko's backstory also emphasises just how much society is dependent on heroes that they think they aren't responsible for anything and any remains of social responsibility are rather diminished as people are busy and turn a blind eye to an obviously scared kid who is suffering.
Tumblr media
Heck we even have momo a class 1A member acknowledge that the bystander effect is a very big thing within hero society yet no one does much to reduce this. It seems that hero society actually makes it somewhat of a taboo to even intervene in situations and help people when you aren't a hero which is why labels such as vigilantes exists. This could be linked to what we find out what happens to lady nagant and how she was in charge of killing vigilantes or anyone who opposed the government.
You can say that the government uses heroes (like hawks and lady nagant) as a way to control citizens but this turns out to be a double edged sword for them as time goes on and all mights notorious reign of 'peace' falls the people start to wake up you can say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hero society especially with the rise of all might and the all might era has created a society that is rampant in the bystander effect and a society that relies, worships and glorifies heroes to a toxic extreme. Obviously this has negatively effected everyone in different ways. It's not only civilians that suffer but also the heroes who are put into extreme situations and have to live up to incredibly toxic and high standards while also appealing to the public. I think a great example of this is all might who is a character who suffered from the system yet upheld and was somewhat responsible for creating it.
Tumblr media
After the war arc we see the hero society system crumble away and we see the complacent bystander effect fade away and get people become distrustful or heroes and anyone around them. During this arc we also see the once glorified and worshipped all might statue become vandalised and people abandoning any hope of the hero system or hero society in general. Chaos and panic are rampant and people have lost hope as the system dissolves.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, if horikoshi actually handled this theme of bystander effect in hero society properly then we could of gotten a compelling story where villains or victims that suffer from it are saved. Hori could of also used this to show how flawed hero society is and how corrupt the hero public safety commission is as well.
Add on
Horikoshi during the vigilante arc also has civilians realise their compliance in all of this and how the hero system set them up in a way which they can relax and watch without having to do anything as society crumbles. It's such a shame that horikoshi takes this and basically diminishes any proper hope by making the ending of the second war arc a disaster.

could you elaborate on your tags from that "writing about white walls" post?
I don't think this is a very unique take here but basically I believe that John was trying to achieve certain goals via Yoko's presence, and it was an intentional and purposeful disruption of the Lennon-Mccartney relationship. John, Yoko and Paul, as well as many fans and authors, treat this disruption as an inadvertent, inevitable side effect of the johnandyoko love story, that they were just so obsessed with each other Paul naturally got pushed to the side and it couldn't be helped, but I really think that was the whole damn point. I wouldn't go so far as to claim that was their point of J&Y's *relationship*, but I certainly think it was the reason John refused to physically separate from her while he was still active in the beatles.
I mean, the thing about John and Yoko is that their relationship was just kind of bizarre and confusing, right? You can, in fact, be in love and also be in separate rooms, you can have a job and a wife at the same time, you can have a creative partner and a romantic partner simultaneously. For some reason John couldn't, and the way he/Paul explain it is so weak and unsatisfactory. Like:
“. . . I mean, I think really what it was, really all that happened was that John fell in love. With Yoko. And so, with such a powerful alliance like that, it was difficult for him to still be seeing me. It was as if I was another girlfriend, almost. Our relationship was a strong relationship. And if he was to start a new relationship, he had to put this other one away. And I understood that. I mean, I couldn’t stand in the way of someone who’d fallen in love. You can’t say, “Who’s this?” You can’t really do that. If I was a girl, maybe I could go out and… But you know I mean in this case I just sort of said, right – I mean, I didn’t say anything, but I could see that was the way it was going to go, and that Yoko would be very sort of powerful for him. So um, we all had to get out the way.”
I mean, that shit is insane?? It makes no sense for a platonic partnership. For Mclennon shippers, it can be interpreted in a way that makes some sense. But the rest of the world can't make sense of it, so they latched onto blaming Yoko for decades. And while it's partially racism and misogyny, it's mostly because people intuitively know there's something really weird about the way things went down and the best explanation they can come up with is that she manipulated or bewitched John somehow. I don't think that's the case. John can be pretty gullible and he loves a guru, but he's not so delusional he wouldn't foresee the conflict and tension that being joined at the hip 24/7 and trying to bring her into the immediate beatles circle would cause. I don't believe he could be manipulated into thinking it would be tolerable or positive for the group. He would never have accepted another beatle doing the same thing, he acknowledged this himself:
JOHN: But I understand how they felt, because if it had been Paul or George and Ringo that had fallen in love with somebody and gotten totally involved, suddenly… It wasn’t like, you know, somebody – George coming in and saying, “I’m going to work with Eric Clapton in a band now, and screw you.” It wasn’t that kind of thing at all. It was just suddenly this involvement.
I think he knew perfectly well it would be received badly, but there were beneficial outcomes he hoped for. On that post I said it could be taken as both an aggressive or defensive move, I reckon it's probably a mix of both. It could be seen as a power grab. He's got himself an ally in the studio who will unconditionally support him, increased artistic credibility (notably in a type of art Paul was also into), the implicit threat that he doesn't need Paul or the group, the leverage that comes with needing the others less than they need him, and the ability to induce creative, professional and personal jealousy in Paul specifically. After all, that's exactly how Paul most effectively hurt John:
JOHN: [Paul] even recorded that all by himself in the other room, that’s how it was getting in those days. We came in and he’d – he’d made the whole record. Him drumming, him playing the piano, him singing. Just because – it was getting to be where he wanted to do it like that, but he couldn’t – couldn’t – maybe he couldn’t make the break from The Beatles, I don’t know what it was. But you know, I enjoyed the track. But we’re all, I’m sure – I can’t speak for George, but I was always hurt when he’d knock something off without… involving us, you know? But that’s just the way it was then.
On the other hand, John at the time was particularly vulnerable and sensitive. Yoko must have been a protective mechanism, a barrier between himself and the person most able to hurt his feelings and his confidence, she made him feel good about himself and his art. He may not have been able to cope with the pressure unless she was there to believe in him and create some distance between him and Paul, to give him some physical and emotional space from the intensity of their relationship and competitive rivalry. And if we put our tinfoil hats on, we can certainly speculate that showing off a shiny new partner is an effective way to deal with unreciprocated feelings or romantic/sexual rejection.
Truthfully, sometimes I feel like John wanted Paul to be badly hurt by this situation so much that he kind of convinced himself of it? I have a tonne of quotes about how Paul reacted to Yoko here, and one thing I notice is that John seems to exaggerate how much Paul hated her, and Yoko's a lot less accusing. That's not to say Paul wasn't jealous, but he clearly made efforts to hide it. We have evidence that Paul tried his best to be accepting and kind despite how negatively it affected him. He went out of his way to help and defend them on multiple occasions, and yet John still thinks that Paul was singing 'Get Back' to her directly or he can't stand them being in love or whatever. It seems almost like wishful thinking on his part, which makes perfect sense if you think his goal was to hurt Paul in the first place.

I'm going through season 1 of Rings of Power again before I start watching season 2. There's so much to talk about, but what I want to talk about here is Halbrand. Specifically, Halbrand and what he meant to Galadriel. **NOT WRITTEN WITH HALADRIEL IN MIND**.
For one, looking at interactions, these two don't feel like friends. There's no casual exchange of friendly words or touches. Galadriel looks at Halbrand and sees so many things. He's rough around the edges and wary, handsome if grody, and too clever. His goodness wasn't apparent from the get-go, and it appeals so well to Galadriel's own seeming struggle with darkness. They're equals, but Galadriel's watching Halbrand to see what he does as much as he's evaluating her.
Galadriel wasn't being wise or powerful when she kept coming back to Halbrand and his potential royal bloodline. To be clear, she doesn't trust anyone. She can only go to him because he won't care enough to use her and he's too kind to say no. Most importantly, she recognizes his type, someone she doesn't want to leave by their lonesome. Maybe it was selfish of her, to keep dragging Halbrand into her journey, but I don't think so. Halbrand was a cracked reflection of her flaws and strengths, and so she treats him not like any friend or ally. She treats him like he's cut from the same cloth as her, like he's a mirror of herself. She pushed him like she wished someone would push her. Unfortunately, we know that Halbrand was incredibly receptive to this.
For two, Halbrand's reciprocation to her actions just enflames their strange, intimate dynamic. Galadriel pushes hard, asking more and more of Halbrand and it seems harsh from the outside. Yet Halbrand stays with her step by step, taking in her commands and demands. Galadriel pushes so much of her own expectations on him and when she thinks of him the words -thank you- must surface. She realizes how tired she is of carrying everyone's expectations alone. Her gratefulness and guilt for him sharing her burden are what finally manifest Halbrand as that mythical King in her mind. Not his silver tongue or Southland's crest. They speak the same language, 'favors' as a weak cover for the fact that they are too loyal to ever refuse the other. She meets him at the bow of the ship and acknowledges this attachment. It becomes something she holds close to her chest in the absence of anything else. Not love, but some type of dream fantasy/fulfillment where Galadriel doesn't have to fight alone.
For three, Galadriel watches Halbrand fight the orcs and it cements something in place. Galadriel appreciated Halbrand before, was grateful and saw good qualities, but here we see that she genuinely doesn't want to let him go. She was never interested in redeeming his bloodline, not really. The 'bloodline right' was to convince other people of her cause and his glory. She never needed a material reason to want better for him. But now it sets a line between them. He was her equal when he was a low man but now he is a King and he has other obligations. It threatens to drag him from her, and I mean drag because he's demonstrated on a few occasions that he's just as attached, and she's conflicted. Maybe some part of her wants to grab him and run. It's not simple, what she feels for him. It's not simple what his person does for her. And the thing is, she knows what the correct course of action is. He looks noble, acts noble, and hundreds of Southlanders need him. He would be the King they were Promised. So she begins to let him go in her mind, loosen her dream from her heart, because she won't keep him. He'll become one of her ideals (like Elrond, like her husband, like her brother) and she'll remember their time together as bittersweet.
In the end, Sauron grows impatient of Halbrand.
Her dream dies when Halbrand eventually asks for the one thing Galadriel wouldn't give.
Halbrand himself dies a dishonorable, screaming death. His pupils shrink to slits, his eyes shot through with red. His teeth become ungainly and sharp. His skin turns grey and darkens with visible veins.
Galadriel turns her blade against him.
She'd looked up to him on his mortal, Kingly pedestal. She'd envied him, been so proud, and wanted to steal him away. And in the wake of his utter betrayal, she has to try and think past the flames.
Halbrand's dead, even if he never existed in the first place. She can't mourn him, for so many reasons, and she must immediately get ready for battle because her massive fuck-up could cost the lives of everyone she loves.
Halbrand's ghost will haunt her though, and I'm sure not just in the form of her worst nightmare come to life.

I'm gonna pull a compilation of times that prove that Kyoko is not a bland or dumb character, so I can get people to stop sleeping on how insane her role is within the story.
She's what Tsuna would be if he was a girl.
The role of a loser is the same as the role of the pretty girl, because none of them are considered to be particularly useful. They're stripped of their agency by others, their wishes are put aside and they are taken from weak fools for being kind and liking their common lives. They're literally Ms. and Mr. "I want to be normal, but I'm too much of a freak once people start noticing".
In the first chapter, the president of the kendo club says she'll be the prize of the one who wins the chat. Kyoko gets mad and tries to get out of there, but Hana doesn't let her. The girls around her basically force Kyoko into situations she really doesn't want to be in, just 'cause she's pretty and boys like her. Her genetics are a chain for her as much as Tsuna's blood is a chain to him.
In that same chapter, she admits being judged by her friends because she doesn't find normal guys funny doesn't know when to laugh. He's bad with social customs too!
And the whole reason why she likes Tsuna, even though he showed to be borderline perverted by always being naked and violent as hell? Because he wasn't a normal guy. She blushed when he first showed up to fight in the kendo fight. She didn't like the fact he gave up so easily, but she admires how brave and hardworking he can be later. She's into her freakish behavior. After that, she started acknowledging Tsuna and inviting him to go with the rest, try new things and do his best.
When Reborn shot her with the last will bullet, she almost killed Nana Sawada! Because Kyoko's last will was to correct her after she said Tsuna was a loser! She was given the same treatment Tsuna often got (stripped down to her underwear and with augmented strength and speed).
Her brother is a Vongola guardian. She has been shot with the last bullet will before and shown she had potential. Isn't it logical to conclude that if she was trained, Kyoko could have been another flame user? It's in her blood!!!!
It's like when Haru first appeared and she was ready to throw hands with Tsuna.
My girls have the fighting spirit, but they never got the chance to decide for themselves if they wanted to be trained for it. They never got the real explanation. You see what I mean?
She was there in the 10 years later arc, right with the rest of the guardians. 10 years is a long time for someone to stay ignorant of the truth.
I'm. Just. Saying.

cause I need to hear more of your sweet thoughts bout those two freaks, favorite laichil moments that have been stewing in the back of the mind?
oh gosh ummmmm
well now that episode 11 is out i am so very deeply fond of laios's visual pan from kensuke to chilchuck's dawning, rage-filled horror at what's happened
i think the swearing was better in the manga--not because the anime let him say actual words (bc i think that's awesome) but bc in the manga i thought they were still running while chilchuck was doing this. good visual
Tumblr media
OF COURSE THE BEST EPISODE 11 CHILAIOS MOMENT... TO ME... is when chilchuck tells laios they're going to have a Talk later
the dub delivery kind of disappointed me (as it always does) BUT IN THE SUB the way laios immediately agrees is so very much, to me, a "yes sir" moment. and if you read my fic you know i'm very into this
i have a lot of little canon moments that i'm super fond of and am very excited to see in the anime... my faves are often when chilchuck is being a hostile little goblin but i'm so fucking excited about what i assume will be episode 13. you know. because
um
okay i have a lot of thoughts actually (MANGA SPOILERS I'M SERIOUS)
so. chapter 30.
Tumblr media
chilchuck goes to get the party's supplies from where they were abandoned in the house they had dinner with falin at, having his own character arc along the way. we have seen him try to convince both leed and senshi that the smartest thing to do will be to lie to laios and marcille so they can return to the surface. trying to continue in this state will kill them, but neither of them will rest if they think they can still find falin. neither senshi nor leed agree with chilchuck's plan, and leed insinuates he's a coward. chilchuck stays firm. even after he's clearly pushed off kilter by leed saying he should just tell the truth, we don't have any concrete reason to think he will.
Tumblr media
then they return and senshi is struggling to keep a now-awake laios down. laios is wounded and weak and senshi is a dwarf but laios is so deeply, fervently determined to get falin back that he's very hard to stop.
Tumblr media
chilchuck, by contrast, is not strong at all, but somehow his added presence gets laios to sit back down. chilchuck rests a hand on laios's shoulder and even before he says anything, laios is looking at him. he knows something is coming. i think he resents chilchuck for it, too--the implication that there's anything to be said here.
Tumblr media
we don't know at this point what chilchuck intends to say. senshi still thinks he wants to lie and intends to stop him, but i think it's clear in this moment that chilchuck has changed his mind.
Tumblr media
he kneels--proud, all-too-aware of "how his people are treated for their size" chilchuck kneels between laios's legs. and i'm not pointing this out for horny reasons, for once.
he's bringing himself closer to laios--assuming a position associated with pleading and willingly making himself not the authority in this interaction. he believes, wholeheartedly, in what he wants to do and what needs to be said, but...
he also knows laios is hurting.
Tumblr media
laios is... devastated. he's terrified. he's angry. but he's also still laios, and he knows chilchuck, insofar as chilchuck has allowed him to. he also respects chilchuck. so this--a teary-eyed plea to do what goes against everything he feels--gives him pause. chilchuck does not beg, and he does not cry.
Tumblr media
...and he never talks about how he feels.
but he does, here: he doesn't want to lose his friends. and he does mean all of them, senshi included. he has three people to think of--three people whose lives he cannot in good conscience allow to be put at risk any more than they already have been. even so, he acknowledges that however laios feels about falin is probably incomparable.
but he tries to give laios hope--he gives him a plan of action. he says we will come back. he tries to impress upon laios that this isn't defeat and it isn't surrender, it's being safe. it's giving themselves an actual fighting chance at getting falin back.
Tumblr media
laios doesn't want to... but he also doesn't say that. all the things he's feeling haven't gone away, but he's also aware of just how big this situation is if chilchuck opened himself up this way. chilchuck does not and never has done this. up until the fight with the red dragon, you could be forgiven for assuming chilchuck is just a contracted coworker who's a little fond of the party and nothing more.
Tumblr media
senshi and leed, the only people who knew chilchuck's plan to lie to the others, don't openly acknowledge his change of heart... but they back him up. they pitch in to push laios just a little further, to get him to agree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and it works.
so. um. episode 13 will be good i think

Since you asked for Pietro requests (love him too 😍) and I have a cold that’s really kicking my ass 🤧, how about something where Pietro takes care of the reader when she’s sick? It can be a fic or headcanons, whichever you think works. Take care. 👋

You were an, insanely, good agent. You were one of the top ranking agents in S.H.I.E.L.D. and you had been the best during your training. However, what turned out to be your one weakness?
A cold.
A simply thing such as a cold was enough to take you out of commission: no training, no missions. Instead, you were confined to your bed with a blocked nose and stinging eyes.
Your body was aching in places that you didn’t even know you used, sickness often overcame you when you moved too, eyes burning when you opened them. It felt like you were dying, or something.
“Dragâ…?” You heard from the other side of your bedroom door, a gentle knock against the wood of the door. “Can I come in?”
You let out a faint groan, it wasn’t necessarily a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’, just a simple sign to show that you were awake. Shortly after, you heard the faint click of the door as it opened, footsteps nearing your bed You would turn around, but you didn’t want to hurt all over again, so you remain in your spot.
“I brought you some soup.” Pietro said with a small smile, though you couldn’t see it, you could’ve sworn you heard it in his voice.
In a groggy, hoarse voice, you replied, “isn’t that stereotypical?”
The speedster let out a laugh, shaking his head as you heard the bowl being set onto your bedside table, then as you felt the mattress grow heavier on the side when Pietro sat down. “It does help.”
You let out a little scoff, shaking your head. “It’s a myth.”
“Dragâ, it’s really not.” He chuckled out, rolling his eyes at you. “My mother used to do it for me and Wanda when we were small.”
You huffed quietly, rolling around to face Pietro with a groan. “Fine, fine.”
Now that you were face to face with Pietro, he could see how bad you actually did look. Despite the lights being turned off and your curtains being drawn, with the little light coming from the hallway, he could see how pale your face looked and the deep bags under your eyes.
His colder hand cupped the side of your face for a moment, thumb brushing against your cheek. "Haven't been sleeping well?"
You shook your head, sighing quietly. "I keep having to get up to get tissues, then every time I get comfortable, I can't get tired because I can't breathe properly."
"Haven't you been taking tablets though?" He questioned, his face contorting into a confused one. "Aren't they meant to help reduce the symptoms."
"I need to be sedated." You grumbled under your breath, huffing afterwards.
Your statement only caused Pietro to let out a laugh, rolling his eyes at your as he shook his head. "Well, I can't give you that, but you can make the soup that I've lovingly made for you."
He helped you sit up, a hand on your back. Though, you would’ve easily been able to sit up, Pietro just didn’t acknowledge it. He reached for the bowl of soup once you were sat up against the headboard, placing it on your lap so you could hold it.
“Do you need me to grab some more cold and flu tablets?” He asked, noticing that you didn’t have any on your bedside table. “Or paracetamol?”
You shook your head before taking a sip of the soup, it tasted nice and you were kind of grateful he made it for you. “Can you just stay for a bit?”
"Of course." He said without a moment's hesitation, as if he didn't even care about the possibility of getting sick, he just wanted to make sure you were okay.
He climbed into bed with you, sitting up with his back against the headboard, ready to wrap his arms around you when you finished your soup so that he could cuddle you.

2 questions about the top gun AU thing cause I wanna eat it
Do you think there’s anything specific that would bring Steve and Maverick closer or do you think it kind of just happens? Or does it not happen at all
Does Steve ever tell Maverick about his dad? If he does how does that get received?
Good questions man, thanks so much for asking!!
1- I think it happens slowly over time- there’s a lot that causes it to happen though. Little things that pile up, on both ends. Like Maverick noticing little things that remind him of himself as a 17 year old, Soda talking to Mav and reporting to Steve that Mav’s actually pretty cool, Goose hanging back with Steve during aviator nights out and telling him a bit about Mav’s backstory-
“His dad disappeared when he was a kid, and his momma- your ma- ran out on him real soon after- he never had a real good parent…But he’s trying his best. He’s not used to being an authority- hell, he’s pretty used to rebelling against it. He’s figuring it out, and he’s gonna mess up…but he’s trying his best, just so you know.” (I’d word it better if this were like. Serious writing but this is more like an outline I guess lol)
And then Steve just sorta processes that. He knew Mav had more to him than he showed Steve, but now that Steve actually has context for why Mav is the way he is, Steve can’t quite make himself hate the guy anymore. He doesn’t like him either because of this, but he starts to maybe see Mav as a person rather than just a roadblock in the way of his goal of getting back to Tulsa.
Also, I think weirdly a fight between Mav and Steve should be the final catalyst for them getting along better. Like Steve goes out and does something stupid and dangerous, like a drag race or getting drunk or something, and Mav comes to bail him out- but Mav also gets mad at him. Very mad at him.
So Steve gets angry too, and says something along the lines of “You’re not my dad or even my real brother, so quit acting like you are!”
And then Mav remembers having said some very similar words to Goose back when they first became friends, and suddenly sees Steve’s perspective better than he has since meeting him. And he says as much- something like “Oh…that’s…Jesus, kid, I said the same thing when I was just about your age…”
From there, Mav can actually see how Steve is a lot like himself, and Steve can too. They still butt heads over things, but with more of a mutual understanding and more actual care for each other.
Plus they’re both into a lotta the same things so once Steve stops being stubborn they bond over that (yk, being adrenaline junkies, liking cars/planes/motorcycles, even having similar insecurities )
2- Steve probably does? Maybe?
When they first meet and Steve’s being rebellious and annoying, I could see him mentioning being kicked out of the house a lot as like. A brag. Like “look I’m real tough, I grew up on the streets”
But later on, once they’re closer, I could kinda see him delving more into his real feelings about it? Idk, Steve seems pretty emotionally…aware, I guess, so I think he knows to an extent that some (not much mind you but some) of his bravado is a front. And under the right circumstances I could see him talking about it with people-I mean in the book, even Ponyboy, a kid Steve doesn't really like, knows about Steve's feelings towards his dad.
Idk if he'd talk about it with Mav though unless Mav told him something vulnerable first. And I don't think Mav would tell him many real vulnerable things, at least not unprompted.
I dunno, speaking from my own perspective as a guy, the only times I really talk about vulnerable subjects are with my best (and I mean BEST) buddy…or girls/women, like my sister, grandmother, and ma. Not much to other guys, especially not to other guys who I compete with the way Steve does with Mav. It can kinda feel like acknowledging you have vulnerable feelings makes you weak. I mean it doesn't obviously, but that's kinda how it feels, I guess? So I honestly dunno if Steve would ever tell Mav about his dad.
That said, I think Steve would tell Goose and/or Carole about his dad lol

Omg- I can’t believe someone asked about the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception- I have been literally thinking about it too as a cool power. I love garden of sinners :) for the ask: same prompt as the Mystic eyes of Death Perception one (with the same personality) but the reader also learns to kill concepts (ex. they can see the death lines in cursed techniques and can stop them if cut in time). How would Gojo, Geto, Choso, Maki react/ see them?
A/N: I combined two requests, the other wanted her to come back from being in hiding due to the higher ups wanting to execute her (and she comes back more beautiful and powerful) !
Gojo
Satoru knew deep down he would see you again one day. You’re too strong to let yourself get killed by any of the weaklings the higherups could’ve hired.
What he doesn’t expect when he saw you again was for you to be so beautiful in that same messy way he loves when you get in a fight: breath heaved up with adrenaline, hair messy from the wind and movements of battle, the swirl of magnified cursed energy around you, brilliantly shining eyes that disappear as you deactivate your technique, and the best crooked fight-riled smirk on your face as you call out his name and greet him with a small “I’m back.”
He’s so happy that he spends all day around you and brags to anyone who’ll listen about how pissed off the higher ups are at your survival. It’s a relief to everyone else that you’re alive, and it offers some peace and quiet now that Gojo has you to follow around again like a lovesick child.
He keeps following behind you, poking at you because it’s been so long since he’s seen you. He just has to make sure you’re real, ya know.
He throws his hands up with a laugh and a “woah, you don’t have to kill me,” whenever you get the slightest bit annoyed or he surprises you and you instinctively thrust the kitchen knife his way, a reflex you developed after dealing with the many attempts on your life. He finds it funny every time when you cutely whine not to sneak up on you.
Everyone thinks it’s weird how absolutely tickled pink he seems to have someone around who could actually kill him if they wanted to since you can cancel out his infinity now. Shoko thinks he’s even happier because that person is also his girlfriend. You have to embarrassedly remind them that you’d never hurt him!
Geto
He wants you to join his side to usher in a new Jujutsu society.
If you have nowhere else to go then why not join him and re-write the entire thing? This way normal humans and weak cowards who hide behind social hierarchies can no longer control the lives of sorcerers.
It hurts to see him this way because when you left, he used to be so kind and morally upstanding, but you didn’t know that your assassination order and leaving was one of the reasons he was pushed over the edge.
Geto always speaks about you so well to his daughters, admiring the memory of you and also explaining to them about how much more lovely you’ve gotten since then even if he fails to recruit you to his side. He knows with your technique that he could take on any threat to his cause if push ever came to shove so he’ll keep trying to convince you.
It’s only to himself that he acknowledges that seeing you the way you are now, as strong as you are now, for a split second, made him miss you, his friends, and the time you spent together before everything spiraled.
Maki
It excites her, like getting a long-lost part of herself back. She’s never liked the higher ups or most other people in command so it’s ironically hilarious to her that you managed to survive after all this time, or maybe the adrenaline mixed with the rush of fighting with you again after so long is getting to her.
You can bond over how different the two of you have grown since you’ve been apart. You’re both stronger in skill and technique, and you quickly notice that she cuts her hair short now and has put on a lot of muscle since you’ve last seen her.
Maki is thankful that not everything has changed seeing as how you can go from killing machine to angel again in half a second. It gives her a warm feeling in her chest that the world hasn’t changed that much.
She’d like to spar one day to see what new moves you’ve conjured up since going missing, but you think that can wait until after you’ve given her a hug. She grumbles a little but the smile on her as you embrace her gives away the small soft spot she has for you.
She hopes you weren’t too scared on your own and promises to be there for you from now on. She knows you’re strong enough to protect yourself, but she doesn’t want to make the mistake of losing someone she cares about again.
She gives a smirk and dances the idea of whether you ever thought about just killing all the higher ups now that you gained new powers. You tell her you won’t. She shrugs and scoffs it off as a joke, but both of you know full well that either one of you would be capable enough if someone tries to get between you again.
Choso
Being able to cut through techniques would make him frustrated when he first meets you especially when you cut through his own technique. He doesn’t have a lot of experience yet with those who can destroy his attacks, especially piercing blood, so you’re an annoying opponent for him.
When he joins your side and sees how kindly you treat his younger brother then he becomes a bit softer towards you. He’s still somewhat questions and doubts this sweet persona you put on since he met you when you were enemies. But his suspicions lessen as time goes on and Itadori vouches for you.
Once he gets to know you, he starts to feels guilty for believing that his brothers might not have been accepted by your side. He is fully convinced that you would have been the type of person who could have accepted them.
He doesn’t have much experience in emotions besides the ones he holds for his brothers, but he does know he wants to help you as much as possible and keep you safe from anyone who wishes to harm you, including assassins. He claims it’s because you’re friends with his brother without understanding that it’s more than that.
Megumi
It’s like he’s seen a ghost when you literally come barreling into his life again, saving him from sacrificing his life in another battle only for him to wake up in your arms.
You’re scarily ethereal. Covered head to toe in blood, the enemies blood; moonlight hitting unnatural eyes at just the right angle to draw his attention; the smell of death is heavy on you so much that it makes his head spin being near you, and you’re staring at him so blank faced that it sends a chill up his spine.
But it all goes away when you deactivate your technique, and your voice goes sweetly soft, and you call out his name twice before he can think to respond. You’re thanking the heavens that he’s okay and fussing over him about how he should be more careful and what would’ve happened to him if you had not been in the same area.
The entire event is probably the most nostalgic feeling he’s ever had in the last five years since he’s seen you, and despite the blood and dirt clogging his senses, it’s probably the most his heart has wrenched so heavily as he looks up at you.
You’ve gotten so much more beautiful with age, some of your softer features leaving you and becoming more defined through the passing years but it’s still you, still recognizable, still unbelievable.
It’s a short-lived moment as you only intervened from hearing the call of his divine dog; and if he was okay now then you had to leave again especially if the school is sending sorcerers to complete missions in the city you’ve been hiding. He understands but that doesn’t make it hurt any less when he dreams about you that night.
Itadori
There’s a lot about the Jujutsu world Itadori still doesn’t understand. He understands the need for his own execution. He’s the host for the most dangerous man in their history. What he can’t grasp is the fact that for some reason the higher ups also want you dead. You’re the least threatening person he knows, at least outside of battle, and you try to be nice to everyone, including him.
He feels like not being able to help you is another one of his failures since becoming a sorcerer, almost in the same way he couldn’t help Junpei. If leaving school is the best way for you to survive then he can accept that. You’ll live. That’s all that matters.
He never sees you again until a few years later during an undercover mission. The two of you have it out, and he swears he’s going to die before he hears your voice, and your name instantly comes to his lips and it’s over after that.
You look so different. You dyed your hair, you’re a little taller, and you filled out more now, but your face is still the same as the memories he has of you.
What isn’t the same is how much stronger you’ve gotten. He fought by your side when you were both students but that’s nothing compared to fighting you now. Even though he lacks a curse technique for your own technique to work against, that still didn’t stop you from throwing him around and giving him a run for his money.
You like to think that he’s become the stronger one of the two of you. You hadn’t recognized him at first, not until that first punch and the lag in cursed energy that followed. You’re really happy you didn’t kill him now! The sentiment, however, doesn’t soothe his broken rib.
The two of you get some time to catch up, and you learn that he feels guilty about not being able to help you when you were students, but he thinks that you should come back to the school now that you’re stronger—that he’s stronger—strong enough to protect you this time. Somehow, seeing him now, and how handsome he’s become, determined, and strong, you can’t stop from agreeing to go back home with him.
Sukuna
He’s excited to see you again. It’s been a long time, and he’s curious to know how much you’ve changed since he’s last saw you. Mostly how much your abilities have improved.
Sukuna isn’t shy about hiding his presence in a normal situation, and doubly when it comes to you; he likes seeing your reaction whenever he’s near and how alert you are to his energy. He’s attracted to strength, true strength, and you exhibit it now more than ever.
He wonders if you know other ways you can use your powers, the more violently deadly ways. You always go for the kill, and so does he, but you’re too precise, too nimble, you don’t seem to understand the joy of truly pushing the limits of your opponents.
He loves to fight you, to see you push to the limit of just how far you can go, and to a tiny degree, how creative he can get as well against someone with your power.
But no matter what, you’re still to soft, not quite there yet when it comes to abandoning your human side to procure true strength. But he thinks he can push out that last weakness from you.
Then, you’d be perfect.

I mentioned how I don't know who my Wind Breaker fav is, which us true, but here are some of the standouts I'm very attached to:
(Spoilers through chapter 141 below)
- Sakuea, of course, best main boy. He's so good, and trying so hard, and he's come so far. He's such a sweetheart and doesn't even realize it. Also, I genuinely belive this kid has actual, genuine social anxiety, and I genuienyl have never been so seen. Also also, I mean this in the mslr loving way I can, but I want to see him cry. I feel like we keep building to it and I need it to happen, for my catharsis alone.
- Nirei, my fav thing is how he seems like such a trite version of an old trope but he definetly surpasses expectations. He's not the kind of 'weak coward' who stands off to the side and whines. He comes in with his own strengths that others acknowledge, and pushes forward with his own drive to become better and actually shows gradual improvement. Not like, starts training and is suddenly a master fighter, but we see him progressively getting better. That's so good!! I also love how obvious it is that the other class 1 guys are protective of him.
- Kaji, what can I say, I'm a sucker for a stoic type tsundere, and I mean, he's clearly a parallel to our MC tsundere. Just, I love how at first he seems stoic, then he seems like an asshole, then he's an intense leader, then you realize he's the same easily flustered sweetheart that Sakura is. Him willing to give in to his anger again, willing to become something he hates, for the sake of his friends who lived and believed in him? Ugh, it's poetic, it's wonderful, I love him.
- Choji.......he's cute when he's not being a psycopath
- Tsubaki, oh my god, I love him for so many reasons, obviously for the fact that he's a crossdressing character who isn't made to look off putting for a joke but instead actually looks genuienlt gorgeous. But also, the fact that he's not only canonically queer and has a crush on Umemiya, but the fact that said crush isn't treated like a joke or a 'ew a boy liking other boys' thing and is instead treated very seriously and earnestly is so genuinely good. Also, the added factor of getting to actually see him have to fight for the way he is, the willingness to acknowledge that not everyone is just going to magically accept and that he had to fight for where he is, its such a mature way to handle this type of story.
Special mention to Suo who, whole I really like him, I don't know if it's cause he's a fav or cause we still know so little about him and I just wanna know what his deal is. I refrain from calling him a fav till we see his backstory.

Yandere Trio Laura, Sabertooth and Wolverine and child reader who has a raccoon mutation
Aha! Yes! They're definitely in for it now! And Baby Racoon Mutant Reader is so fluffy and cute! Let's do it like this:
There was a new feral mutant running about. That mutant happened to be a small child, with a ringed, fluffy tail, fuzzy gray ears, and a dark birthmark across their face.
They were a racoon mutant.
Logan was the first to find them, so he considers his claim the most valid.
Something had been stealing fruits and vegetables from the Institute's garden, so he'd set up a few traps to catch the little vermin. What he caught was not an opposum, fox, or rabbit.
It was a kid.
One that looked like a little racoon.
They were scared, shaking, letting him realize they weren't trying to cause trouble, and they likely hadn't had a great life beforehand. So he does what he can, trying to take them into the Institue. The fight him over that, but the moment he hands them a plate full of eggs and bacon, they stop fussing. What sold the idea of keeping them was when they handed him the bigger pieces of food, and kept shoving it at him until he ate it.
They were a keeper.
Laura meets them awhile later, when she goes to visit her father. She was hoping to find him and try to bond a little bit, perhaps learn an odd life lesson, or try some new thing normal people did (or a not so normal thing the X-Men did). She instead found a small thing scurrying around the kitchen, trying to reach the highest cupboard. Seeing as it was impossible to reach it, she did what was supposed to be good: Opened it herself, took down what was in it (a box of pretzels) and handed it to the tiny mutant.
It repayed her act of kindness by handing her handful after handful of pretzels, taking turns to eat their own handfuls.
She grew attached to them.
They were sweet, not knowing anything about her, and doing something as simple (and something she desperately craved) as sharing.
She would make them her sibling (certainly her father wouldn't say no to that cute face?).
Victor meets the tiny rascal when he's scouting the woods around the X-Men's mansion, looking for weaknesses and seeing if he can spy Logan while at it. What he finds instead is some fluffy tot with a bushy tail and weird birthmark foraging mushrooms and nuts, happily shoving them in their mouth after plucking them off the ground.
The moment they hear him, they turn and look up. Instead of screaming or running or crying, they look at his face, then at their pile of bounty, then pick out the biggest mushroom from it, rolling it over until it lands at his feet.
He's confused.
He's less confused when they point out-
"You smell like Logan. Logan's family is my family."
And how can he say no to that?
A sweet kit, and the first person beside himself to acknowledge Logan as his brother. Plus the kid said they were family first, so what is he or Logan going to do about it? Argue? It would just break their heart (he's using it to his advantage. Let's see his brother get rid of him now! Plus free feral kit, so it's a win-win!).
When the three of them all discover they share the same racoon baby, well...
Laura's fine with it. As long as neither of them butt in with her sibling-bonding time, she'll allow their presence.
Logan wants to fight Victor, but is glad Laura accepts her new sibling (he considers it a present/childhood ceremony for her, and maybe him, too).
And Victor is glad that Laura is fine with him, as long as he sticks to the schedule she made for sharing the little tot, he's less glad when Logan keeps setting traps and the X-Men team on him.
All in all, they'll (barely) tolerate each other, but if the others don't stick to their scheduled time and days with Reader, none of them will hold back their wrath over being cheated out of their time with their little rascal.

Trying to wake the muse!

I know there's more....
It's disheartening, to say the least; when you look in the mirror and no longer recognize yourself. He'd thought it would be different; the job and the horrors that often came with it turning him into a tougher person, not a weaker one. It doesn't matter how strong he appears on the outside; on the inside, he often feels weak and vulnerable and absolutely fucking hates it.
Even at an empty park, he can't fully relax. Eyes constantly scanning the treeline instead of concentrating solely on his children; attention diverted from them with each car or pedestrian that passes by. He despises it; the seemingly constant state of alertness. By now he'd thought it would be getting better; it's been six months since he's left the job. But it only seems to be getting worse.
Still, he toughens it out; planting a smile on his face as he tries his best to acknowledge every time one of the kids yells 'daddy look!'. Resisting the urge to constantly survey his surroundings.
He's sitting on one of the park benches -baby laying along his forearm as he feeds her from a bottle he'd brought with him from the car- when his namesake saunters over. Yawning loudly as he plops down beside him.; on his side with his legs tucked into his core, head resting on Tyler's thigh. A small, dirty hand reaching out to take hold of the bottle so his dad can drape his arm over him.
“What's up?” Tyler asks, as he rubs his son's shoulder. “Tired?”
TJ shrugs.
“You wanna talk about what's going on at school? Because what the fuck, mate?”
TJ looks up at him, grinning.
“Don't tell your mom I say that word around you guys, okay?”
“Okay,” TJ agrees, and once against rests his cheek on Tyler's leg.
“You can't do sh...things...like that at school. You can't do them anywhere. Not even at home. I know you get pissed off but you can't freak out like that. Throw chairs and desks and sh...stuff...like that. You just can't. You hear me?”
“I can't help it,” his son says. “I really can't.”
“What do you mean you can't? You know what you're doing, yeah? Well if you know what you're doing, you can help it. You've got to calm down. Take a breath when you feel like that. Ask the teacher to leave the room. We talked about this. More than once.”
“I can't help it,” TJ insists. “It just happens. I just get so mad. I get so mad and I just do things.”
“What makes you mad?”
“I don't know. Lots of stuff. When there's too much noise and I can't hear the teacher. When someone chews their food too loud. When someone says mean things. Not just me but to other people. Makes me want to punch them right in the face!”
“Well let's not go around punching people in the face, okay? You need to learn to calm yourself down. You can't act like that. Not at school, not at home, not anywhere. Do you see me throwing stuff around when I get mad?”
“No. You just yell a lot. And really loud too.”
“Okay, well that's not exactly the best way to handle things either,” Tyler admits. “I shouldn't yell like that. Especially not at your mom. And especially not at you guys. It's scary, yeah? When I yell?”
“A little,” TJ says. “It's a little scary.”
It hurts his heart to hear that; he remembers being a scared little boy hiding in his bedroom closet as his father went on rampages. But he never stopped at just yelling; he took things that extra step, using his fists and his feet and anything he could get his hands on to terrorize Tyler's mother. And eventually Tyler himself. And he swore he'd never be like that. That he would never, ever cause that same kind of torment.
“I hate my brain,” his son laments. “I hate how it works. It doesn't work right.”
Tyler sighs. He can understand that feeling; his own brain is a fucking disaster. He can't help but wonder if maybe some of this is his fault. If maybe he's always been messed up but it didn't surface until he was older. If maybe Austin's cancer and his abandonment of him had been what kick started the whole thing. And if maybe he's the reason why TJ is the way he is. That he's passed down some damaged gene that is causing his namesake the issues he's going through.
There it is. Guilt. It always finds him. Regardless of the situation.
“You'll fix it, right daddy?” TJ asks, those blue eyes full of tears as he looks up at him. “My brain? You'll fix it right?”

I've seen that whenever soembody mentions any rude or abusive thing sasuke does to sakura , you throw the logic that he was under the hatred which is fair enough , but is there a limit to it ? Like if instead of knocking her out with a harsh genjutsu , he kicked or punched her and then put her in a genjutsu , would you have still shipped them ? Like honestly asking is there a limit to it ? The reason why sasuke x Sakura is always hated upon is because it's a romantic bond , so murder attempts seem extra very distasteful , as for Naruto x sasuke , is that they are rivals and fight so it's fine for them for them or atleast seen in a better manner and also Naruto bond with sasuke was highlighted so people can see that despite those , he still cared about Naruto , but for Sakura there isn't nearly any strong moments .
Naruto went ballistic for hinata during the pain moment , sasuke never had 0.1% of protectiveness for Sakura .
Him leaving again for a decade gives people a bad experience, almost plays it as a joke , hey even kishi joked or laughed at the joke about how sasuke stays away from Sakura because she is a tough woman .
Now karin , you can admit they shared respect and comradery and sasuke the only murder attempt was just him trying to kill danzo , also their biting moments gave them a erotic tone , plus karin feels as strongly as for sasuke than Sakura . Kishi himself said it so their love was same . Sasuke treated karin way better , or respected her and smiled at her .
Imo if sasuke and karin did end up together or were the final couple , people would have taken it way better than sasuke x Sakura , cause karin just seemed to spend more time with and he smiled at her and also cared for her .
Sure ss fans would be upset , but they don't really make up the more than Naruto Stans .
Sasuke treated Sakura pretty awful and even you can't deny it .

There is a limit to it, but the fact of the matter is that Sasuke didn't do those things that you suggested, so what's the point of even mentioning them? It's like you're saying that their relationship should be negatively judged for things that didn't even happen. What people really need to acknowledge, is that the Naruto universe very clearly does not follow the same standards of forgiveness found in reality, yet they're perfectly fine with accepting wholly unrealistic levels of forgiveness for certain things, while giving SS all kinds of shit for incorporating the exact same principles. It doesn't make sense.
The reason why sasuke x Sakura is always hated upon is because it's a romantic bond , so murder attempts seem extra very distasteful , as for Naruto x sasuke , is that they are rivals and fight so it's fine for them for them or atleast seen in a better manner
That makes no sense whatsoever. It does not matter whether the person is your best friend or a potential romantic interest; a murder attempt is a murder attempt, and attempting to kill your potential romantic interest is in no way, shape or form any worse, than attempting to kill your best friend. I'm sorry but I am so sick of hearing people say this nonsense, it's such a weak attempt to try and excuse or justify the plethora of mistreatment found in SNS in comparison to SS, and I'm not having it.
Furthermore, it's not even as if it's a 50/50 thing between SS and SNS. No, Sasuke treated Naruto far worse than he ever did to Sakura, and yet people constantly applaud him for not giving up on Sasuke. Yet, when Sakura also doesn't give up on Sasuke for the exact same reasons, she's instead hated on for apparently being shallow, selfish and all the rest of that typical bullshit.
and also Naruto bond with sasuke was highlighted so people can see that despite those , he still cared about Naruto , but for Sakura there isn't nearly any strong moments .
Just because Sasuke's bond with Naruto was highlighted in comparison to his bond with Sakura, that doesn't mean that his bond with Sakura wasn't highlighted at all. Sasuke literally named her as one of his two precious comrades. And you say there weren't any strong moments for SS? Please refamiliarise yourself with the manga, because I can very easily list plenty of examples.
Naruto went ballistic for hinata during the pain moment , sasuke never had 0.1% of protectiveness for Sakura .
Are you actually serious?
He protected her against Orochimaru
He went "ballistic" for her against the Sound ninja
He was fully willing to risk his life for her against Gaara by buying Naruto time to escape with her because he didn't want to lose someone "dear" to him ever again
He broke every bone in Shin's body while rescuing her
Do you want me to list the examples from the novels too? Goodness gracious.
Him leaving again for a decade gives people a bad experience, almost plays it as a joke , hey even kishi joked or laughed at the joke about how sasuke stays away from Sakura because she is a tough woman.
Firstly, Sasuke wasn't away for a decade. Secondly, so what if Kishi laughed at that during an interview? Literally so what?
Now karin , you can admit they shared respect and comradery and sasuke the only murder attempt was just him trying to kill danzo , also their biting moments gave them a erotic tone , plus karin feels as strongly as for sasuke than Sakura . Kishi himself said it so their love was same . Sasuke treated karin way better , or respected her and smiled at her .
You have to be trolling at this point.
You actually say Sasuke's murder attempt on Karin "was just him trying to kill danzo", which is just a horrible excuse. In case you don't remember, Sasuke literally said that since Karin allowed herself to get captured, she was useless to him:
Tumblr media
So to you, that must mean that it was all about Danzo, correct? Unbelievable. Stop trying to justify all of Sasuke's horrible treatment of everyone other than Sakura, the bias here is crazy. This wasn't just Sasuke trying to kill Danzo, this was Sasuke killing two birds with one stone, because he deemed Karin to have become a burden.
To address your other points...
"also their biting moments gave them a erotic tone" - Are you really trying to use Karin's perviness to prove your point?
"plus karin feels as strongly as for sasuke than Sakura . Kishi himself said it so their love was same" - Kishi never said that. What he actually said, was that Sakura and Karin would be able to empathise and understand each other's feelings since they held affection for the same person. He never said that Karin's feelings for Sasuke were as strong or stronger than Sakura's were.
"Sasuke treated karin way better , or respected her and smiled at her" - Sasuke didn't treat Karin better, he didn't respect her any more than he respected Sakura, and not only did he also smile at Sakura, but he also described her as someone dear to him, was willing to sacrifice himself to ensure her survival, acknowledged her as one of his precious comrades, saw the shadow of his family within her and the rest of Team 7, gave her an actual heartfelt apology, and gave her his ultimate expression of affection which was the forehead poke. Now once Sasuke does even half of those things for Karin, then come back.
Imo if sasuke and karin did end up together or were the final couple , people would have taken it way better than sasuke x Sakura , cause karin just seemed to spend more time with and he smiled at her and also cared for her .
Cumulatively speaking, Sasuke actually spent more time with Team 7 than he did with Team Taka.
Sasuke also smiled at Sakura.
Sasuke also cared for Sakura.
So now what?
Sasuke treated Sakura pretty awful and even you can't deny it .
I've never denied that Sasuke treated Sakura poorly. But what you and so many others constantly ignore, is that he treated Naruto far worse, and yet you'll excuse that for bullshit reasons such as how their bond is platonic, as if that makes any difference. Not only that, but people will actually believe that Sasuke treated Karin better than Sakura, at which point I become certain that they literally just don't even have the faintest idea what on earth they're talking about.

if you're comfortable, i would love to know more about the akechi npd headcanon. i think it's a rlly interesting take on his character and i wanna learn more abt npd bc i have bpd and ig im interested in what people experience with the other cluster b personality disorders? i just kinda wanna know why you think he has it and also maybe some of the mental stuff he has to experience with it. doesn't have to be detailed or personal i dont wanna make u uncomfy! i just cant stop thinking abt this hc haha :)
im actually on a mental health break right now, but this ask intrigued me so im answering it anyway. first off thank you for staying kind throughout the whole thing :)
its kind of hard for me to really describe why i think a character has/is something, because things like personality disorders are still a wide spectrum and every person experiences things differently, and i dont wanna make it seem like theres a one-way to have npd, but im gonna try anyway!
there is a site which helped me immensely throughout my self-diagnosis, so if you want to read more about the topic than what im gonna say here, here u go:
lets start simple and the thing that makes it most obvious to me: the engine room dialogue.
people with npd can heavily rely on other people for their self-esteem, because narcissists usually have a very low one. thats why they take on many tasks ("i was extremely particular about my life, my grades, my public image—so someone would want me around!") and might overwork themselves for more praise and acknowledgement ("you wanted to be acknowledged, didn't you? to be loved?") because its what they need to not constantly crash. a crash is something that happens when you dont get enough supply—which can be words of affection, praise, acknowledgement, etc—and you internalize it, doubt yourself, feel disgusting and generally you get to a really low point. this is just speculation, but i can see goro having a ton of those, especially during the time the phantom thieves get popular and he becomes public enemy nr 1. thats also why i drew him thinking "i really need supply rn but i'd rather die than ask for attention" because vulnerability is also a big thing people with npd can struggle with. we dont want to be seen as weak—our narcissism is essentially a shield, so we're seen as tough, when in reality, our egos can be very fragile.
one thing that the engine room makes very clear and also other interactions goro has with akira, is that hes very envious of others who have had it better than him. especially someone like akira, who was thrown away by society just like he was, was able to move past it, found friends and is acknowledged by many people. goro is jealous of it all, and thats the thing; people with npd can feel like they're supposed to be special ( and to me, with goro explaining how he got his personas, and how he often calls others stupid, its clear that he does feel that way about himself to a certain degree ) and anyone who threatens that status, anyone who seems much more special than we are is seen as a legitimate threat. its an ugly feeling and it can make us hate even those we love for some time.
this attributes to dysregulation of our emotions too. people with npd often feel their emotions, especially negative ones, way more intense than they actually should be and have difficulty calming down due to that. negative emotions often linger for a long period of time and its hard to move on so we hold grudges. now this might come to no surprise to anyone that goro is a very angry and sad person. especially in the engine room its clear that even after the others extend their hands out to him, its difficult for him to comprehend and he still acts rather mean and calls them idiots for trying to "save" him. when someone with npd is experiencing a multitude of negative emotions, it may cause them to avoid other people or act aggressive towards them because they feel trapped. theres many explanations as to why goro is the way he is in the 3rd semester, and i dont think only one of them has to be correct, but i do think that with the knowledge of whats happening ( like: being under the control of someone else again, or having to work with people who are unpredictable and who have seen you at your lowest point ) makes him act out to keep all of them, especially akira, at bay.
in the duel against akira—im sorry i cant really quote it, i just have a general idea of it in my head rn—i read what he says in a way that makes it clear that he struggles with a superiority AND inferiority complex, which sounds stupid at first i know, but its fairly easy to explain. like i already said, a narcissist's self-esteem is usually pretty low and we rely on others to know how to feel about ourselves. theres two traits of npd that are necessary traits to have: being self-centered and feeling entitled to good treatment, and seeking admiration from others/liking to be the center of attention. so there is some kind of superiority complex going on, at least thats what i would call it in goro's ( and my ) case. we can feel on top of the world in one moment, but once we have a crash or experience intense negative emotions, its back to being the worst human being on earth. i dont think its ooc to say that goro hates himself, as some like to claim he only ever thinks hes better than everyone else. i think that just attributes to harmful stigma. with everything goro experiences in life, coping with narcissism to hide a fragile sense of being just makes sense to me.
theres more i could probably add here but this thing is long enough as is. please do keep in mind that many of my headcanons for goro are me projecting—but that doesnt mean theres no basis for it in canon as well, as i've tried to explain here. at first i actually thought he could have bpd, but i dont know enough about it to really judge that—so it could still very well be that, or both, i dont really know how it works! im rather new to this as well, and at first i was scared of doing any research because npd is so heavily stigmatized. i wish there were more people like you, anon.
if you have any more questions feel free to ask them :)

Ace Attorney Ramble
(So, based on my past few submissions & asks, can you tell what my current hyperfixation is??)
So, had this thought, which will not leave me alone now. I think I remember you saying Manfred von Karma being the “gay rights, but only for me” type, and I can definitely see that. But I had the thought (which is now going on repeat in my brain), that von Karma is more of “What is this ‘Gay’ you speak of??”, mixed with “Gay is ABSOLUTELY a choice”. Like, sort of same but opposite of how you write Enji. Manfred is attracted to men, is fully aware he’s attracted to men, and is making the conscious choice to ignore it. As far as he’s aware, EVERYONE is attracted to the same gender as themselves, but we all ignore it, because continuing the species and family lines are more important. Someone would try to make an argument about how it isn’t a choice, just how human beings are built, and von Karma would fire back about how humans have changed faster than evolution, how we have loads of things that are imperfect about the human body that we “fix”, like eyesight, or the appendix.
Like. He would absolutely appear homophobic, would spout a lot of bullshit that sounds the same, but his actual issue isn’t people being ATTRACTED to the same gender. It’s ACKNOWLEDGING it, because as far as von Karma is aware, attraction to the same gender is on the same level as other things he considers “weak” - addiction, illness, compassion, hurt feelings. Everyone has them, but only WEAKLINGS indulge in such things. A von Karma doesn’t INDULGE, they overcome and surmount! They are never ANYTHING less than perfect, and perfect means a spouse that can give you an heir to the family. He probably had a whole portfolio of men Franziska could pick from to marry and have kids with, based on a bunch of bullshit social stuff. She might argue about IVF, and von Karma would be SCANDALIZED she’d suggest such a thing! He would hound, harass, and maybe even blackmail his daughter into getting hitched and having a kid. And once Franziska had the kid, he would cheerfully support her through a divorce. Social standing observed, boxes ticked, business concluded.
Sort of conversely, I think he’d be simultaneously totally cool with trans people, and also very transphobic. Like, if someone he worked with went up to him and said, “Hey, just so you know, I’m actually a man, my name is Victor now,” he’d be all, “Not sure why you think I care, Mr. Tree, I have cases to deal with,” and never misgender the guy. But if he found out Mr. Victor Tree was taking time off to have transitional surgery, he’d be scornful over the guy “taking time off for something as trivial as THAT”, like, putting your mental and physical health? Over your JOB?? He’d start bringing it up all the time, “oh, are you sure you have time to take that case?? What if you need to go to the hospital? Maybe this case should be trusted to someone with a stronger … constitution”. And the whole office thinks it’s cause Victor is trans, but no, it’s cause he willingly and deliberately sought out medical care.
My big takeaway thing is, I read a lot of fics where Miles has hang ups about his sexuality due to being raised by von Karma, and while I don’t disagree with them, I think it’s more likely that Miles had bigger issues acknowledging needing breaks, or medical care. Like, Franziska got shot, had surgery to remove the bullet, and then immediately left the hospital to find a guy and deliver critical evidence to a courtroom. Miles should be the guy who says, “it’s only a flesh wound,”, meanwhile, he’s been stabbed in the gut, and everyone is pleading with him to go to the hospital. He takes A hit to the head, insists he’s fine, and proceeds to solve a murder with a concussion. His pain tolerance is through the roof, and this is a bad thing.
(Thoughts, feedback?)
-
Honestly you’re right I think he’d see attraction of any kind to be ‘weakness’ so clearly whatever mess his marriage was is a very un-attracted one for other purposes like children or something. Having sex with a woman doesn’t count because he’s not giving in to attraction he’s just doing a business transaction.
Then yeah rip Miles and Franziska they’re gonna be like ‘Hm. My bloods on the outside of me. Pretty sure that’s fine.”
