This image of Bail carrying Obi-Wan on his shoulders is from the Bail Organa/Obi-Wan Kenobi Clone Wars era adventure book Wild Space by Karen Miller. Years ago I read the entire book purely based on this image. I will have you know, this never happens in the book. You can see the image on the Wookie article for the Sith planet Zigoola but the image is blatant false advertising. I ended up liking the book anyway, but what you see in the picture does not happen.

“Obi-Wan stared after him. This is a test. The Force is testing me. Twelve years of Qui-Gon, ten years of Anakin, and now I get him.”

You’re so right on how the fandom mostly pair these two characters together, just to make fun of Anakin. It’s like the antis don’t actually see these characters for who they are but mostly use them as their cookie cutters to benefit a narrative that they want but know doesn’t exist. It’s truly pathetic.
Also, the “Padmé and OWK besties” narrative was never real, because they only ever talked if it was about politics, mission-related, or about Anakin. A more appropriate description of them is that they’re two colleagues who share a mutual understanding because they love/care for the same man.
Padmé really only started “caring” for OW because of Anakin too like we see here in this excerpt from Wild Space
Tumblr media
Palps tells Padmé that OW is hospitalized and her first thoughts aren’t even for OW, they’re of her worrying for Anakin because she knows OW means a lot to him.
We also have Padmé admitting as well that she wouldn’t exactly call herself and OW friends in the same novel:
Tumblr media
To top it off, Padmé says the ONE thing her and OW can agree on despite their enormous differences and clashing mindsets, is loving Anakin.
Tumblr media
They were very far from “besties.”
your tags on my post about the jedi not being anakin’s family were really good, specifically on how obi-wan would probably not be happy about anakin leaving the order to raise a family with padmé— that’s a point i never see anyone bring up. everyone acts like he would just be like a fun uncle or something when realistically i agree him and anakin would have a massive falling out over it. i could see him getting really self-righteous over the fact that anidala wouldn’t want the twins near the order too. maybe they’d all make up eventually but imo it would take alot of work because the relationship would have to be rebuilt from the ground up. sorry for the long message but you have good sw takes!
yeah, i never liked padme & obiwan besties narrative either. especially when in fandom it's all just comes down to using those characters to make fun of anakin. way more interesting is viewing obiwan vs padme as two idealogically opposing parties representing and fighting for two different futures before anakin (but here comes palpatine with a steel chair). obiwan represents jedi order; palpatine represents republic; padme ahead of her time represents new republic. anyway, choosing between emotional deadbeat and the best girl in the galaxy was understandably no brainer for anakin.

It was so unlike Obi-Wan to be incoherent. It was his articulate self-possession in the face of danger that so impressed her. Even though [Padme] hadn’t entirely forgiven him for his interference in her life, she felt a surge of pity.
For all our differences, she thought, We have this one thing in common. We both love Anakin and we always will.

One of my fav things about star wars is that's its so fucking huge that u physically cannot know all of it so u just kinda like pick a section amd become obsessed. Like me with the Chiss. Like i have seen only one other fandom come even close to this amd that's Marvel. I have no idea y. And we all still bond over the skywalker saga (not the ones that shan't be spoken). And its like we all know a bit of each other sections. Like clone fans know a bit about ahsoka. Ahsoka fans know a bit about the Rebels fans. Rebels fans know about Thrawn. Thrawn fans know some deep shit about Padmes handmaiden and wild space yokels. And it pretty much goes on forever and i find that very cool.

I think it’s so under appreciated how much Anakin admired Padmé and looked up to her while also being madly in love with her. She wasn’t just the woman he loved, she was many things in one. She was also an inspiration for him, and Anakin had the utmost respect, love, adoration, and admiration for her. So I wanted to bring this into light.
Let’s begin.
Tumblr media
Starting off in Secrets of The Jedi where Anakin states how he’s proud of Padmé’s reputation that she’s built for herself as a well known and outspoken Senator.
Tumblr media
The way he lists of all here in Clone Wars: Wild Space that she had many aspects to her and he absolutely adores and loves all of them. Again his pride for her seeping through in this passage.
Tumblr media
If anyone knew better how much difference Padmé makes everyday with her influence and position, it was Anakin. He always believed in her and he knows the Republic needs her.
Tumblr media
Anakin hyping his girl, stating the facts that she’s no dolt and he rightfully acknowledges her intelligence and excellence 💯 he knows his wife is a queen.
“you are anything but weak-minded.” 😭
Tumblr media
Literally this passage of Brotherhood where Anakin admits he sees Padmé as a guide in his life in her own way. The amount of respect and high regards he must see her in to view her as something so special 🥹 he admires her morality and determination to do her duty, that he feels inspired by it.
Tumblr media
Which brings me to my favourite page in “A Jedi’s Journal” where Anakin sketches a picture of a feisty Padmé and writes about how he doesn’t want to look like a failure in her eyes. Her opinion of him matters to most to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of my fave Vader comics (Vader and the lost command) where Vader dreams up an AU where Padmé lives and he defeats Palpatine, and the clear vision of seeing Padmé as becoming the Chancellor because he always saw her as the only person fit to rule over the galaxy. And in this particular page, we see Padmé doubting herself and Anakin reassuring her that she’d never make the wrong decisions, that she was “born for this role”, that there couldn’t be anyone better for the job. A testament to how much faith he has in her and her capabilities even as Vader ♥️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moving onto the next page from the same comic, we see how Padmé is referred to as the “the galaxy’s true guardian of peace and freedom”, and reminder that this is still Vader’s vision, and that means it’s truly something Anakin/Vader thinks of Padmé (despite that it is in fact true.) as I mentioned, he always sees her in the highest regards.
Vader even dreams of their kid “Jinn” making note of how with Padmé in power, the use of the Jedi will become “obsolete” and Anakin himself replies “we can only hope.” It’s like he sees Padmé as the true hero and not himself, the ‘Chosen One’ and ‘The Hero With No Fear.’ or the Jedi. 🥹
Then it ends with Anakin stepping up to Padmé and tells her how everyone adores her, because that’s exactly the kind of respect and love Padmé deserves, he knows it, and he envisions it so clearly. Cause that’s how things SHOULD be.
Padmé is the reason why Anakin is the man he is, she’s responsible for making him into the hero he’s become and Anakin really said it himself in Clone Wars: Wild Space pretty clearly without hesitation:
“The point is that without you, I’m nothing. Without you, Anakin Skywalker doesn’t exist.”

confession.... i never liked the idea of ezra and thrawn being anywhere close to amicable in canon.
NOTE: IF YOU LIKE THE FANON VERSION, GOOD FOR YOU! I LIKE IT TOO! IM NOT HATING ON YOU! Also this is not about Thrawn, this is about Ezra's thought process. This is about mainly some people saying that "oh why didn't Ezra stay with Thrawn" (Star Wars tiktok and twitter is a weird place with many rabbit holes)
Point one: Ezra is still pretty hot headed, he's not crashing out with a sith holocron but even in S1 he easily got angry. He's just been separated from his family, his planet, and is stuck alone surrounded by his enemies. I do honestly think that he absolutely thought he was supposed to die like Kanan there, or thought he'd be able to hitch a ride back with the purrgil (Peridea is like idk man both an elephant graveyard and their home??? Im done w star wars lore)
Point two: He does not like Thrawn. He's away from his family, and stuck with the man who helped oppress his planet, stole Hera's kalikori, facilitated the torture of Hera and to him, is a big reason that Kanan is dead. He absolutely was not about to go on Wild Space adventures with Thrawn.
Point three: Even if Thrawn made contact with the Chiss, I don't think Ezra would have gone with them at all. Ezra is really narrow minded and thinks in black and white when he's stressed, (and he's also like fucking 17) he probably reasons that if he goes, he's going to get tortured. Even if Eli showed up, Ezra still wouldn't go. Ezra perceives all Imperials as evil (which is a fair mindset, they supported and engaged in fascism). And Ezra is not trusting some random human.
Do I think the Ahsoka show was the pinnacle of Star Wars? No. Do I think it was a good show? Also kinda no. But it's the most logical course of action of how Ezra and Thrawn would have played out (not really Thrawn but more Ezra running away from Thrawn.)
Anyways I love Ezra Bridger and I get annoyed when people misunderstand how he thinks and works :3
