Hey everybody, meet Domino!

She’s a two-time teen mom down on her luck, but she’s left her bad home situation behind, gotten vaxxed, spayed and treated for fleas, and now she is ours!

The first time I saw her, I thought from her size she was probably six months old, but that’s what happens when dumbass humans let their four month old kittens get pregnant, and then don’t fix her afterward so their eight month old kitten gets pregnant again! Poor Domino’s body has spent most of her life growing other kittens instead of herself. She’s skinny as a rail and about 2/3 the size of Callisto in all dimensions, but she is sweet and brave and we all fell in love with her instantly. (Except Callisto, who is getting a supervised introduction, but we are pretty confident that these two yearling girlies will become friends and playmates.)

As for Callisto, she is very unsure about this new development, but she does like the “getting wrapped in a blanket” portion of scent introductions.

Last week I TNRed this very sweet void, and now she is available for adoption at the Austin Humane Society!

She is newly spayed, chipped, and vaccinated. Approximately 1 year old and about 9 pounds, sleek and solid. She's a little nervous at first but once you sit down and start petting her, she will love you. She even started grabbing my hand with her front paws and pulling it to her face to nuzzle. Please give her and the other AHS cattes a visit if you are looking for a kitty, and remember to please please please FIX YOUR CATS!!!

History of St. Gertrude: The Patron Saint of Cats

St. Gertrude of Nivelles’ patronage was never made official by the Vatican, but her association with whisking away mice and rats made her, by default, the saint that all cat lovers worshipped. While modern media has associated her with cats in most portrayals, there’s a lot more to the patron saint of cats than just being deemed the cat lady of the Catholic church.

According to history records, St. Gertrude was born in the city of Nivelles in 626, which we now know as modern-day Belgium. As the youngest child of four, St. Gertrude was meant to follow in the footsteps of her eldest sister Pepin when it came to agreeing to an arranged marriage. Devoted to her faith and with the help of her mother, St. Gertrude escaped the bindings of having to agree to an arrangement by opening a separate female-only monastery. Here, she devoted herself to her faith until she left the monastery to tend to those in need.

Most claim her association with cats stems from a feline’s predatory instinct to catch and chase away rodents. During her time serving in her city, St. Gertrude was frequently summoned by the townsfolk to ward off illness and rodent infestations. People swore by her energy to chase away anything disease-ridden, and ultimately this is why she was canonized after she passed away on March 17 at age 33. Many churches were built in her memory, and many claims of miracles have happened at her hands.

In remembrance of her, many Catholic people also celebrate St. Gertrude’s feast day on March 17 alongside St. Patrick’s Day. Each fall, Nivelles holds Le Tour Sainte-Gertrude, a parade around the city that draws many pilgrims and features a mass in honor of St. Gertrude. When you’re donning your favorite green gear for the lucky holiday, give your furry friend an extra pet in honor of our favorite cat lady!

I'm sorry for asking this but do you planning to hmmm idk what it's called. neutral her? Make her can't pregnant? Idk how to spell it in English.

Are you planning on doing that to her?

Birdie is going to be 2 in May, and she is a girl!

I adopted her while I was working for the SPCA, who ‘fixes’ (neuter = male, spay = female) all pets before adoption, and is included in the adoption fee!

So birdie is spayed, meaning she can’t get pregnant (she’s an indoor cat as well, so she also can’t get feline aids or FELV, etc etc)

Where I live, we are over populated with cats and there are so many feral colonies in the area, so it’s important for owners to spay/neuter their pets so we don’t add to the population 🫶

Also a few days back the white cat and the orange cat were going at it and they love hanging out in my garden so if the cat distribution system doesn't come for me this time im gonna throw hands

Eddie definitely feeds the stray cats in the trailer park. One morning he goes out to feed them breakfast and when nine scruffy little cats show up he says, "My! The whole fellowship decided to join for a meal together before their quest." The cats rub against his legs and meow at him ❤️

We had a cat on the surgery table with a hot pink towel and most of the ones we have are white so my coworkers are saying how the cat is all fancy and without thinking I blurted out "This Barbie is getting spayed"

just had to release a raccoon from the live trap that i set up for the strays. the raccoons here are really docile so thank god for that.
