Day 1: January 1, 2023 - “New Year Present - Blankey”

New Year Present for William for his 2nd New Years is a special blankey that we really hope becomes his comfort item.  We had Jane’s neighbor Kay, who had made a baby quilt before William was born, circle back and make a blankey out of his old onesies that we love.  A lot of great stories and memories wound up in that fabric, including the one that we left the hospital in for the first time (Dream Big Little One), the sharks he wore in San Carlos, and of course two of my all time favorites (Eat Local and Homemade Cookie), and the one I always imagined was his favorite “Mighty Little Dude.”  Its really neat seeing the final product and how it came together.  William opened it up after New Years Brunch and he hugged it and pointed out the sharks and the elephants.  I explained to him that it was special and his only.  “This is yours” - your special blankey.  A keepsake for us, but a loving living comfort item for you to take you into another year.
