Totally Awesome Crown Runthrough!

Here’s to the 12-hour rehearsal days out in the summer heat in the good ol’ USA. Here’s to countless repetition, here’s to that damn metronome, here’s to rehearsing so much that you literally HAVE DREAMS OF REHEARSAL (YES I have literally marched in my sleep during everydays - I have witnesses - Mr. Matt McCarthy in the house??? Hahaha)...Here’s to those long bus rides from city to city, the funny tan-lines, the nonstop sweat, the nonstop soreness of one’s muscles, the nonstop striving for perfection (while catching Excellence), to the moms & dads who volunteer and go out and cheer for their kids or their corps.. here’s to the alumni - to the corps that folded up long ago before this year-off hiatus... here’s to the educators who are just as passionate about teaching as the members are for performing. Here’s to the future of the marching arts - to all of the people who are so hungry to get on that field & give it everything they’ve got (and paying almost everything they’ve got to do so). Keep that dream alive. Keep striving.💖🤝🙂

Circle of Sound (with Crown)

Carolina Crown’s jaw-dropping brassline this year (earlier in the season). This is an awesome view from ‘outside of the circle’ with one of the world’s best brass sections in marching music. Probably the only corps this year to give me chills & tears (due to their otherworldly level of musicianship). GO, CROWN!

Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps

Carolina Crown (based in Fort Mill, South Carolina) is my personal favorite and one of the finest drum corps in the acitivity. Here’s some footage from last season, with an Outstanding show called “Beneath The Surface.”

This corps is truly inspiring. Crown’s contributions on the field throughout the years has helped shape the activity as we know it today. This corps never ceases to amaze me. There have been so many absolutely awe-inspiring moments that have come from this corps - with such power & finesse. I have seen this corps grow through the decades and I am so happy for this organization’s accomplishments throughout the years. I have friends who have marched in Crown in various years and all Crown folks are really, really cool (that kinda goes with most drum corps folks anyhow; well for the most part - such is life right?). This corps deserves all of it’s success & praise. Absolutely Awesome.

Carolina Crown’s Brass section this year is SO AWESOME!

Only one week left until DCI World Championships Finals! My favorite Brass section is Carolina Crown (I think they’ll get the brass caption) this year - although so many different corps have amaaaaaazing brass sections. I wouldn’t be surprised if Crown pushes into the Top 3 since their show is so awesome (those top 6 corps have been putting in SO much work this year and it truly shows)!

I’m so happy for everyone marching & teaching this year! I applaud every corps as I think this has been one of the best DCI seasons thus far (and that’s saying something). So many brilliant things happening in all corps this year. I’m very happy for those members out there and their parents, too.
