Alright, Garcy fans, I've been considering that AU engaged idea of mine some more and I honestly think it would work so well. There is a lot of ideas I recall from back when I was so obsessed with the show I was helping with the saving of it and planning the saving of it and all that ... anyways I remember Garcy fans loving the idea of Flynn sneaking into Lucy's lectures before he stole the mothership.

It is rather true that we don't get a lot of things concluded within the series but thats okay this is why fanfic exist. So, lets say we go with this idea of upon the return from the Hindenburg with Lucy getting back home and learning all this new shocking things about her changed life ... we also get Flynn getting a phone call, from Noah (lets no take the Carol route, she wouldn't put herself that close that early - and its clear in the show that Rittenhouse has a means of monitoring the changes).

Noah is very likely a Rittenhouse member as well - it would make sense that Carol Preston wants her kid engaged to and having a future with another Rittenhouse member, keep that 'royal' line going. We never even got Noah's last name for all we know he was actually a direct line descendant of the Rittenhouse family. Which honestly, would go in line with some of the stuff we saw later in the series. Anyways, back to the AU stuff .... basically the returns happened. Lucy walking through her door calling for Amy. Jump to Flynn back as well and walking through his bunker or wherever he's landed, a phone starts ringing. Back to Lucy, calling for Amy, heading through her house. Back to Flynn, diary in his hand. Maybe Anthony behind him in the background going for the phone on the table - confused as he looks at it, maybe one of the other goons doing this. Then back to Lucy as she finally gets that turn point where its her mom and not Amy and she's stunned because her mum is well. Then back to Flynn and someone telling him the phone is for him, he's turning because who calls him. He doesn't know anyone who would want to call him. Not here, not in the present. They only have a phone for needs of the mission and honestly he cant deny his goons a chance for untraceable calls to their families if they ever asked - he'd get asking. This sort of thing just keeps repeating and repeating bouncing between the two - I could see it on the screen. Playing and playing. Until its Carol Preston asking about Lucy's ring and Noah on the line with Flynn asking him out for beers, making a joke about bachelor days (but not making it clear whose bachelor days - Noahs or Flynns?) Then jump into the Lincoln episode and all that chaos. Flynn processing having a friend/person/someone close enough to want to get beers with him in his life. Lucy processing the loss of her sister and gain of a fiance. Rufus and Wyatt trying to figure out how to help Lucy process her sister being gone. Because how do you help someone just disappearing - not dying just never existing - and they dont even know she's engaged yet. And not to mention that she so easily just seemed to shove it aside when the history date was mentioned and jumped into the mission like it was so easy, and they dont get that.

Then of course, you have the encounters that would happen that mission. Lucy with Robert Lincoln, talking to him, and the way that Flynn would engage with her. The conversations. Her frustration. His boiling under the surface of "WHY DIDNT SHE WRITE ABOUT NOAH?!" And just all of that. Only for the mission to be over and them to get back and Noah is bringing him to a house, a nice house, and Lucy is returning home - her mother frustrated she is late to her own party and how dare she ask about her father on this day - and Lucy is turning from that because she cant and there in the doorway he stands. Noah's left him to go find her mum - update her of course its his job - and she's just there staring at Garcia Flynn in her house and all he could say is

"I guess its me who is getting engaged not Noah." and all she can say is

"You have got to be kidding me"

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (2022)

I actually watched this last year, but for some reason didn't review it. Anyway, I needed a re-watch to remember all the gory details.

This Netflix animation is a good one, friends. They've really hit their sweet spot with Christmas animation. It's the classic Christmas ghost story we know and love with Ebeneezer Scrooge (Luke Evans) introduced at the top as a miser with a soft spot for his dog, Prudence. Honestly, the addition of Prudence made this redemption arc a lot more believable for me. Anyway, so, Mr. Scrooge bumps into his nephew Harry Huffman (Fra Fee), who invites him to Christmas dinner as Mr. Scrooge is shaking down Tom Jenkins (Giles Terera) for 25 pounds on Christmas Eve. Of course, Tom Jenkins doesn't have it and Scrooge doesn't have patience for Tom or Harry (maybe he would for Dick, but who's to say), so Scrooge doubles his debt and heads back to his office with Bob Cratchit (Johnny Flynn).

As usual, the first ghost who visits Scrooge is his late business partner, Jacob Marley (Jonathan Pryce). He tells Scrooge about how his greed in life lead to him being chained in death and how Scrooge needs to change his ways to save himself.

Then, the ghost of Christmas Past (Olivia Colman) shows up and takes him through past Christmases with his sister Jen (Jemima Lucy Newman), his old love Isabel Fezziwig (Jessie Buckley), and his old boss Mr. Fezziwig (James Cosmo). Scrooge relives some of the best and worst moments of his life.

The second ghost, of course, is the ghost of Christmas Present (Trevor Dion Nicholas). Present shows him Harry's Christmas party that Scrooge blew off yet again where Harry's wife Hela Huffman (Sheena Bhattessa) goes on about how much Scrooge sucks. A similar scene unfolds at the Cratchit residence during toasts.

Finally, the silent ghost of Christmas Yet to Come takes Scrooge to the future where we find Tom Jenkins and all the other people who owe Scrooge money are celebrating his death with song and dance. Inappropriate, but I would do the same if one person dying meant my student loans stopped existing. Scrooge also discovers the unfortunate death of Tiny Tim Cratchit (Olliver Jenkins and Rupert Turnbull).

We know that when Ebeneezer Scrooge wakes up on Christmas day, he's a changed man and he saves Tiny Tim and makes up with his nephew Harry. It's a classic story told several times in several different ways. So what's special about this one? Well, the original songs are a nice touch. It's a little spooky, which it should be! It's a ghost story! The voice actors in this are phenomenal, and the animation is also really beautiful. Overall, 4.5 stars.

As it's Timeless' 7th birthday, I decided to start a(nother) rewatch today 😁

Pilot: interesting time-travel premise and opening ep.

I didn't (and still don't) find it one of the strongest eps in S1, it's a little run-of-the-mill until we get to the last Hindenburg section as seen in the above gif.

The instant chemistry between Lucy and Flynn and the intriguing chat about her diary grabbed me by the throat and pulled me in.

Also the twist at the end for Lucy!

I also took an instant liking to Rufus and an instant dislike/distrust of Mason and Denise. I wish we'd seen more of Stiv too.

It does always grate on me as to how dismissive Lucy and Wyatt are of the casual racism of the 30s towards Rufus in this ep, they don't really seem to notice and certainly don't acknowledge it!

I would also like to thank the costume dept for putting Goran Višnjić in a tank top for one scene ❤️ they sure knew what they were doing with his wardrobe in this show 😁

He blushes deep red hidding behind his soup spoon and speaks up softly.

"She s-surprises me so quick with it at times... its somewhat sweet like honey with a coffee end note... quite soothing but also it wakes you u-up quick. Its like a kick of energy hits you and knocks you out... or maybe i-its just me cause I am not used to such affections."

She giggles with her hand before her mouth.

"Masters kisses are only reserved for me~ And its adorable how surprised he gets when they come out of knowhere... what a cutie... tries his hardest to return them. They have a sweet soft taste as he is. I can't get enough of them!"

She clears her throat with a blush.

"I did catch him of guard at first didn't I... but it feels good to have a kiss shared among us when we are alone. He often has a hint of some of the donuts I brough us to eat, or matches my apple love. Either way its often hard for me to pull away. But he makes sure to remind me if I overdo."

He smirks wide.

"Why yes, Onyx is quite the temptress. The hint of dark chocolate mixed in an addicting aroma... the light pressure as she tries to match me... the glare as if she wants to get me to lose it... its quite tempting in many ways."

It’s a perfect version of A Christmas Carol for this generation of kids. Later Never Comes is such a great song.

Winter had not quite fallen on Night Raven College, but on this cold morning the lawns glittered with frost under the light of the rising sun. Punch rushed across campus, hoping to make it to Sam's shop before it got too busy. There was something he needed to get before class, and he couldn't bear the thought of it running out before he could get his hands on it!

Little bells above the door rang as he stepped inside, cheeks red from running in the cold air. His eyes desperately scanned the shop. There.

On a little table by the register sat his prize, and there was only one left. The special apple puff pastry imported from the far northern Shaftlands was his prize, and it was almost within reach!

Almost. Punch sensed that he wasn't alone. He could feel another pair of eyes in the room, locked in on the same target. He took a tentative step forward, then another, but he couldn't shake the feeling. But as he grew closer to the treat, he saw his competition, and they locked eyes. Even from behind a pair of glasses, he was met with a determined, steadfast gaze, and he knew that he was defeated.

"You know, Carol, if it was anyone else? It woulda been a fight," he said, sagging slightly as she snapped up the pastry.

"Would you have at least shared it with me?" she asked, cheekily.

"... I refuse to answer that on the grounds of you might not want to hang out with me later."

"Harsh."

"Enjoy it, Carol." He snickered, and went to pick up a canned coffee from the fridge. "But next time..."

"Next time, we'll split it."

"That's fair."

"Come on, we gotta GO!"

Security lights flashed threateningly behind them as Bobby and Sindren ran down the corridor, scrambling to escape before anyone caught them. Bobby, unprepared to maintain this burst of speed, started to fall behind.

"Nope. Not leaving anyone behind on this mission," Sindren huffed, and she reached back for him, taking his hand into hers, to keep him up to speed. "Up and out, like we practiced. Ready?"

"Ready!" Bobby nodded, squeezing her hand in gratitude, and they both jumped. Three quick hops brought them up to a skylight in the roof, through which they made their escape. They kept out of sight until they heard the sound of pursuing footsteps fade, and then they slumped against each other, laughing.

"I cannot believe that Mythra had such an alarm system set up in her room, geez!" Bobby pushed his bangs back from his face. "But do you have it?"

"Of course I do!" Sindren giggled mischievously. She pulled the small journal out of the bag on her belt, opened it to a random page, and tucked a photo inside of it. "Now all we have to do is sneak it back into her room."

"All this, just to surprise her with a picture? You're a piece of work, 'Dren."

"It's good practice for real missions! Besides, what's the worst she can do?"

Before Bobby could open his mouth to reply, they both froze. Footsteps echoed on the roof behind them. A feminine voice rang out. "Do you really want to find out, criminals?"

"C r a p !" Bobby and Sindren say in stereo and, still holding one another's hands, jump back inside via the skylight.

The event at Noble Bell was more crowded than Sia had anticipated, and she felt a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of people present at the masquerade ball. Her fellow Night Raven students were all occupied with different events, leaving her alone and intimidated at the edge of the dance floor. She raised a hand to the tiny gold domino mask over her eyes, making sure it remained secure. At least no one she knew would see her playing the wallflower today...

"Why, Miss Sealponte? Is that you?"

Sia's ears flickered in surprise at the familiar voice, and she spun to meet the speaker. A relieved smile crossed her face as she recognized the handsome winged man. "Flynn? What are you doing here?"

"Your institution was not the only one to send a delegation, sweet lady," he said, taking her gloved hand in his and pressing it to his lips. "But I had assumed that you would have been kept safely away from this part of the proceedings."

"Why would you think that?" she asked, cheeks warming at the kiss on her knuckles. "Surely this is an event safe enough for any of our students?"

"Ah. I misspoke. I meant for the safety of the hearts of the students around you." His eyes flashed merrily behind his black mask. "For one look at you would break these poor boys' hearts, especially when they realize you are out of their reach."

"You're making me sound like a tease, Mister Deradelle," she sniffed, quietly pleased with his flattery.

"Not my intent at all, Sia. But anyone else would naturally be disappointed when they see the loveliest lady here leaving with someone else."

"And who might this someone else be?" she murmured.

He puffed out his chest. "Me, naturally. Now, shall we dance?"
