Chapter 26: Quite The Team

Lucy looks forward to returning to the safe house to finally reunite with her sister, but she and Garcia run into some complications on the way.

I keep the tentative "publish to AO3" dates up-to-date on TRLT's AO3 page, on battleshipgarcy.com, as well as in this pinned post on Tumblr. The plan is to publish a new chapter in October, November, and December. Then (🤞) one chapter every couple of weeks starting in February 2025 until the story's final chapter.

All remaining chapters are written, and only need to go through the editing process. And I so cannot wait to bring them to you ❤

As it's Timeless' 7th birthday, I decided to start a(nother) rewatch today 😁

Pilot: interesting time-travel premise and opening ep.

I didn't (and still don't) find it one of the strongest eps in S1, it's a little run-of-the-mill until we get to the last Hindenburg section as seen in the above gif.

The instant chemistry between Lucy and Flynn and the intriguing chat about her diary grabbed me by the throat and pulled me in.

Also the twist at the end for Lucy!

I also took an instant liking to Rufus and an instant dislike/distrust of Mason and Denise. I wish we'd seen more of Stiv too.

It does always grate on me as to how dismissive Lucy and Wyatt are of the casual racism of the 30s towards Rufus in this ep, they don't really seem to notice and certainly don't acknowledge it!

I would also like to thank the costume dept for putting Goran Višnjić in a tank top for one scene ❤️ they sure knew what they were doing with his wardrobe in this show 😁

Watching the pilot again is like. Watching Lucy be overjoyed that her mom is better in the revised timeline and knowing that this same mom is going to be the worst fucking mom ever in the near future. Fuck Carol Presron.

i love all the aus where thad has a happy ending and stays with max & helen & bart because how tf would they explain that to bart’s civilian friends. how would they account for the sudden appearance of a long lost twin brother. bart and carol stay up all night workshopping possible explanations and write a whole soap opera about how they were separated at birth that’s frankly more ridiculous and unbelievable than the real story. preston decides that enough crazy shit has happened in bart’s life that he HAS to make a documentary about it and ‘shadows’ bart to get day in the life content. cue incredibly typical close-call shenanigans featuring bart shoving his costume in a closet while preston’s back is turned, talking about ‘his cousin wally west from keystone city- OH HAHA not THAT wally west,’ etc etc. this is how preston finally accidentally finds out that he’s impulse, because after bart does everything he can to keep it secret thad just shows up in his inertia costume and waves hi. preston is less mad about the whole impulse thing than he is about the fact that now he can’t share his documentary

The Road Less Traveled

Previously on TRLT... In the afternoon after their first time making love, Maria called Garcia and Lucy with a warning: Rittenhouse is on their way to NOVUS and may be on their way to her home to capture Lucy. Less than an hour later, they arrived at NOVUS, Rittenhouse had already taken control of the building, and Maria had been able to escape to the safe house using one of her two time machines. Lucy allowed herself to be captured to give Garcia a better chance of retaking the facility on his own. And after Lucy saved Garcia's life in the shootout, they entered his mother's second time machine and took a moment to breathe before making their way to their team.

And now, I bring you...

Chapter 27: In All But Two

Word count = 17,728

Lucy's reunion with her sister doesn't quite  go as she had expected. After that goes down, Lucy and Garcia prepare to leave so they can live in the past for the next six years.

Timeless re-rewatch - s1e02 (because I have no willpower)

Th Assassination of Abraham Lincoln: so a lot of the US eras/events that Timeless visited, I didn't know much about, being a Brit. However, I did know a fair bit about Abraham Lincoln's end which helped in this ep.

As someone with a keen interest in historical fashion and an occasional costume maker, I love that we get to see Jiya helping Lucy into her 1860s undergarments 👍

Paperweights - you think Connor? 😆

I do love the Timeless intro with the date travelled to each ep featured. Simple but effective.

I like the plotline with Rufus (or Denzel Washington 😁) and the soldiers of colour.

First sighting of Karl, yay! Followed by the the world's worst Irish accent and the world's worst game of Operation 😆

Lucy goes tovthe train station and gets a date for the evening, but there's still more chemistry in the following scene with Flynn, even when they are yelling at each other 😁

Love that dress on Lucy, really want to make a cosplay of that one day 😍

I was unaware of the plot to kill Grant and Seward alongside Lincoln, so that was interesting to learn on first viewing.

The show is certainly not afraid of making Flynn the definitive bad guy at this point, making him kill Abraham Lincoln sermed a bold move! I love that Lucy managed to foil his attempts to change the timeline by killing , even though she's about half his size! The looks on both of their faces when he bursts in though 😱

"I wish I could have saved your father" "There was nothing you could have done" Guilt trip!

The paperweights seem to be working well 😁

I love the looks at the revised histories that they do in most eps and how members of the timeteam sometimes appear in them.

Double bombshell for Lucy at the end 😱😱 She deals with having a sudden fiance she's never met before way better than I would have done!

Starting to get bad vibes about Carol Preston there too ��

No because do yourself a favor and Don’t imagine Helen waking up one morning and grabbing the paper from the door and dropping her coffee mug onto the floor. Don’t imagine her reading the headline FLASH MURDERED over and over, reaching for the phone to call Bart to ask what the hell happened to Wally, only to read the first few lines and it’s Bart… Bart took on the Flash costume. Bart was killed. No one called her. There’s a huge funeral, all of his hero friends and hundreds of others will attend. They outed his civilian identity. It’s miles away and no one knows that she’s Max’s daughter; the daughter of the man who taught Bart what he knew. No one called her. She doesn’t know anyone who would know to call her.

Don’t imagine her dropping to the floor and hugging a confused Dox to her chest. Don’t imagine her sobbing for her missing father and the death of the little chaos whirlwind she’d come to love.

I think preston is a YouTuber who makes documentaries from his bedroom but he's actually decent at it and has a pretty good patreon
