Chapter 2: The Shipwright's Brig and It's Captain

Powers: (Y/n) has powers of the Sut Sut No Mi. The Step Step Fruit. Which allows the user to walk on any surface and in mid air. Summary: (Y/n) Shristi also known as Captain Brig, a well known underground shipwright, has her own huge ship that harbors up to 8 other ships in docks that allow’s her crew to fix up other pirate ships that are in need of fixing or upgrades. (Y/n) who was a student under Dr Vegapunk for 8 years, after a tragic incident that caused her to lose both arms and legs. Dr Vegapunk took her in, gave her arms and legs prosthetics to allow the girl to walk and still be an adventurous teen, there (Y/n) learned and became a brilliant scientist and inventor. Back to the present where her mighty ship and mighty crew full of shipwrights, come across two struggling men in the sea, and then a whole crew and their ship split in half and in parts of their beloved vessel floating in the ocean…The Heart Pirates, and the Kid Pirates…How strange. Note: So this is after Law and Bepo escape Blackbeard, and Kid and his crew is fucking decimated from Shanks. Enjoy lovelies!! This is def not following the canon events-

Fire, blood, pain. The buildings around abalzed, screams filling the air, men shouting and laughing. Laying there in pain crushed underneath burning beams. Unable to move, both legs and arms numb with no feeling. Her left blue eye looked around, blood seeping from her right eye unable to close fully due to a shard of wood embedded into her eye. Why can’t she just die and have all this pain go away? All that her family and village was doing was celebrating…then the damned marines had to ruin their fun. Turning her head to the side to see her parents laying motionless in the rumbles of use to be home, then down to her arm where a huge beam smashed into her arm like a pancake. All she could do was let the tears roll down her cheeks and hope to die, her throat sore and hoarse with screaming and calling out for help, now all that came out was strained air. She just wanted to die. She wanted the pain to end.

Finally the light appeared before her, and she closed her eyes accepting the light coming forward, finally to be at peace, no more worries, no more sadness and greif, no more pain. Hearing footsteps quickly approach, she didnt care. She slowly slipped away into the light where there was no pain.

She walked through the halls of the Labophase, following close behind Dr. Vegapunk. Passing by a room, the door slightly ajar, looking in only being able to see someone with lavender hair. But she didnt pay too much mind to it, looking forward to quickly picking up her pace to keep close to Dr. Vegapunk. Reaching her hand out to his, he would take it gladfully looking up at her with a soft smile. “My little Inventor Brig, someday you will be able to sail again, like your parents did. Imagine all the things you could do with that little smart head of yours!” he would coo up to the young adult holding his hand, following him like a little duckling with its mother. All she could do was smile softly. “Someday my little inventor, someday you will be the greatest inventor and sail across the whole world and Grandline. I just know you will!” He would laugh, and all she could do was just giggle softly at her mentor’s words.

“Maybe Dr Vegapunk, maybe.” (Y/n) would smile softly, towering over her mentor, her silt feet tapping against the tiled floor as she walked, and her cool metal hand meeting the warmth of her mentor’s hand. She saw him like her own father, and she would do anything for him.

Both Kid pirates and Heart Pirates are already up and in the galley with Angus and Yael eating breakfast. They were there later so they didnt have to deal with the large crowd of people in the galley so they could talk with one another.

“So Yael what are the plans today?” Bepo would spueak looking over at Yael. Yael would simply turn her head over to Bepo with some food dripping from the corner of her mouth. Bepo couldnt help but chuckle at Yael’s antics.

“Well, besides the rest of your crew, joining up with the other shipwrights, you two caps and your best men are going to be going into the warehouse to meet cap today after we show you around the ship.” she would talk with her mouth full, wiping the corner of her mouth of some food, then with a big gulp swallowing her food happily.

“Fucking finally! You keep fucking talking about your Captain but hardly say shit about them..” Kid would grumble, taking a bite of his food. Yael would just chuckle.

“We have our reasons.” Angus would hum softly as he would finish off his food, shoving the last piece of his pancake into his mouth. Killer would watch this man with such intrest, such a large man that everything about him screams to be a beast of a man, but yet such a teddy bear.

Soon with breakfast coming to a close, they would all take their plates, bowls, and cups to the dish drop. Killer's eyes made contact with the same white haired woman from yesterday. She quickly pulled the dishes onto a loading cart, her eyes meeting his, only giving Killer a soft nod before rushing back towards the kitchen. Angus and Yael lead the way out through some doors, and heading down a long hallway with many doors on the sides of them, soon opening a large door, and sunlight filled into the small hallway. Walking out one by one, they would be awestruck by the sight before them.

A huge deck in the shape of a U, with four docks on each side, 8 in total. Three large main masts with crows nests ontop of each one. The deck flooded with men, women, and non-beanies running around doing their chores. Children ran on all four with rags in their hands as they cleaned the deck having fun. A ship docked in the middle inner of the U shaped boat. This ship was MASSIVE. Not as big as the Gran Tesoro but definitely a large scale ship. The ship was a beautiful mix of browns and some gold and silver accents to it. Kid’s and his commanders, including Law’s and Bepo’s eyes were large and marveled by the sight.

“Holy shit! Who fucking built this ship?!” Kid would snap his head towards Yael and Angus who were just laughing at their shocked faces.

Angus would smile pointing to what seemed to be a warehouse at the end of the inner part of the u. “Cap Brig did and quite a few of us aswell. But with Brig’s science and technology, it definitely made the ship go by faster, still took 3 years to build.” Angus would chuckle.

“ONLY THREE FUCKING YEARS?!” Kid’s eyes looked like they were going to bulge out of his eye sockets. Yael couldn’t help but break out into a roaring laughter, tears escaping from the corner of her eyes. Kid was so astonished that only their captain and a few others built this massive ship in three years. But the fact that they say that Captain Brig has technology that sped up the process by alot was also intriguing. Law’s eyes were just wide as he looked around, and this stunning massive ship, the crew though seemed happy and unbothered, enjoying their lives, working hard making sure the ship was nice looking that everything was working properly with no loose ends. Law himself was just impressed as well. Bepo’s eyes shining with amazement looking around at this new environment.

“Now, now, come! How about we go see Captain Brig now, hmm?” His Rosey cheeks present with a large smile, his arms and hands resting on his hips as he looks at the guest crews. All they could do was nod, still eye candying the ship that they were on. They would begin to make their way up the stairs to the upper deck of the ship. Small buildings all around with signs on the doors with various metals, woods, and more. Supply sheds. They would head towards a small building with the words ‘Wearhouse 2’ above a pair of heavy swinging metal doors.

Inside was a small group of 3 women and 4 men seemingly to be working on a boiler. Law's eyes would widen upon looking at it, it was the Polar Tang's boiler that they were working on. A woman would be hammering out the dents in the metal of the boiler along with a man. The others putting mechanical pieces together and talking with one another. One of the men would peek up seeing Angus, Yael, and the visiting crew. “Angus, what brings you here?” The man would question tilting his head.

Angus would wave his hand heading towards another pair of heavy metal doors on the other side of this small wearhouse. “Taking the guests to go meet Cap!”

The man would nod his head looking back at what he was working on. “I will warn you, Cap was saying some pretty nasty shit earlier and now there's just loud music that can be heard from in there. Guess Cap is having a hard time with The Victoria.” The man would huff softly while screwing a piece together. He was right. They could hear the booming music playing now, and the distance muffled sounds of metal clanging.

“Thanks Path!” Angus would nod his head. Yael quickly made her way over to the new pair of double metal doors, and when swinging them open, the loud music would fill the smaller wearhouse. “Fuck I guess she really is mad.” Angus would laugh making his way in with Yael. Kid and his commanders followed hot on their trail at the mention of their ship beyond these doors. Law and Be possible stood there for a moment watching the men and women working on the boiler. Law could immediately tell they knew what they were doing, and they were doing it with precision and care, but Law would quickly go along with Bepo joining the Kid Pirates, Yael, and Angus.

Walking into the larger wearhouse, music loudly blasting, it was a sight before their eyes. Two huge cranes with chains and ropes holding the split in half Victoria in the air, along with two huge robotic claws holding the ship as well. Loud clanging in the corner of the wearhouse, as sparks were seen flying from welding. Stopping as a loud crash happens, and the a loud curse of a female “YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME! I'VE WELDING THIS PIECE OF SHIT OF METAL FIVE TIMES ALREADY! GOOD FUCKING PROPS TO WHO MADE THIS SHIT! JUST FUCKING GREAT!! MOTHER FUCKING BASTARD OF A FUCKING RETARDED FUCK WHO DOESN'T KNOW SHIT!” suddenly a large piece of metal would go flying and crash near the group that just walked in. Law, Bepo, Kid, and his commanders quickly backing away from where this sheet of metal is now gouging into the wall and floor. Though Angus and Yael didn't even move or flinch, just smirks on their faces. Kid's eyes wide with hearing such a colorful mouth from a woman no less.

“Yep she's mad alright!” Angus would boast, barely even being heard over the loud country music. Suddenly the shadow or a woman spiriting across over to a huge pile in the corner of the room full of metal quickly digging through, one finding a good sheet of metal would make her way back over to where the welding parts were. Quick sounds of hammer banging, and then sparks of welding once again came to a stop once again. Suddenly they would see the woman in full. 6’9, prosthetic metal arms with glowing yellow cores in the middle, prosthetic silt legs as well, a white lab jacket over her tall slender frame stained from rust, oil, and maybe blood. These sunglasses like goggles on her face covering her eyes, but her brown hair fading into a red, and the same classic black shirt, and brown overalls with the Jolly Roger presented on front with a tool belt over her waist. A strange red tattoo on the left side of her face near her ear. But this lady had gauges, pricings, and sharp teeth presented in a wicked grin of hers. As suddenly jumping into the air, she walked through the air towards The Victoria suspended in the air.

Stopping before she would slap the piece of metal onto a inner beam of the ship, taking out some nails from her tool belt and placing them in their places that she needed them. With ease she would back away grabbing what seems to be a large hammer with a very short handle, until swinging it, it would extend, and hitting it against the nail. With one heavy hit from the hammer and one hard hit the nail was fully in with ease. But she continued with a swift and smooth pattern, she would hit each nail with every hit. Then after a good few more swings, the nails are perfectly straight and perfect.

“Captain!” Yael would shout but the music was too loud, as the female was still in her own little world checking over her work. Yael would sigh “Angus! Do the thing!” Angus would sigh looking around finding a bolt on the ground picking it up and chucking it at the supposive captain.

Right about the nut was about to hit her, her hand would fly out quickly, the metal hand catching it with ease crushing it. As the female's head would turn to look at the group, the sunglasses goggles covering her eyes as she stared them down. Dropping the crushed bolt to the ground below her, she would reach up a hand to her glasses pushing them up with a finger to rest on her forehead. Her blue and yellow eyes staring down as she looked at them with a quirked eyebrow. Then pushing a button on her hand, the music would suddenly stop. “The fuck you want” she would speak.

“Cap, guests!” Yael would shake her head with a devious smile on her face. The female captain's eyes would turn to look at the guests. Standing up and suddenly stepping down through the air towards the group then landing on the ground in front of Kid. Her tall frame looked down at him. Her head would tilt to the side glaring daggers at him.

“So you're the captain of th-” Kid would try to speak till the woman would hold her hand up to his lips shushing him.

“Shut your fucking mouth… do you know how fucking broken you ship is?!” She would snap at him, Kid's eyes would widen. “The fucking fact that you have old rotting wood, broken beams, nails not where they should be! And not to fucking mention your ship is in fucking half!” She would yell towering even more over Kid. Killer would quickly make his way pulling his friend away before he could snap back. Angus would pull away the female.

“Captain Brig, calm please. He wasn't intending for this to happen.” Angus would speak hushed, as Brit's eyes full of rage slowly softened while looking at Kid without fear.

“Fine.. You're lucky that your ship is one of a kind and designed beautifully or I would have your head as decoration… “ she would scoff, turning away. Kid’s eyes were full of rage and curiosity of this woman. This was the Captain of this beautiful large scale ship? Law watched the scene before him. “Anyways, pleasure to meet you all the name is (Y/n) or known as Captain Brig. You all can just call me Brig.” she would sigh, dipping her head towards the group in greetings. Now noticing her accent had a southern accent to it, the accent strong but smooth. Law couldn’t help but look at her arms, and legs, the metal a dark grey with glowing pale yellow lights in some parts. The stilts for her feet, noting some small thrusters on the back of where her calves would be. More than likely used to make her run faster when needed. But another fact was, how did she walk through the air when there were no surfaces for her to walk on. Was it the small thrusters on the back of her calves or was it some sort of power like a devil fruit? Only saying a question could answer that.

“Miss Brig, we thank you for your hospitality. Now if you wouldnt mind answering a few questions for me?” Law would quip up, his amber eyes looking up at the tall captain. Brig’s eyes would snap towards Law, crossing her arms over her chest as she stared down the doctor. Her cold hard eyes would send slight shivers down his spine upon a look like that from such a woman.

“Sure.” was the only thing she would quip back at him. Those eyes of hers not easing up one bit.

“How did you exactly walk through the air? There are no surfaces that I see for you to walk on. By the looks of it, you have small thrusters on your calves. So did you use those to walk through the air or do you have devil fruit powers?” Law wouldn’t tear his gaze away from the cold stare she was giving him.

“Devil fruit. The Sut Sut fruit. It allows me to walk, run, sit, and lay on any surface of my choosing. That Includes water and air.” she would raise a brow now her own curiosity peaked.

“Intresting. Other than that, how long will it take for you to fix mine and Kid’s ships?” Law would flash almost a smug smirk on his face seeing that he caught Brig’s curiosity.

“Hmm…Well with your boiler of your ship almost being finished as is, the framework though is going to take a while. Your ship partially imploded once it hit a certain depth.” Law’s eyes would widen. “But doesnt mean im not up to the task of fixing it, cause I know I can fix it. But on a rough but good estimate for both of your ships…about another week give or take. At most two weeks.” A smile would finally start to spread across her face, the excitement of fixing these wonderful interesting ships, and getting them up and going and maybe seeing if she can do upgrades for them. Finally her eyes are not cold anymore but determined and almost have a light spark to them.

Kid would grumble quietly hoping that Brig wouldn't hear. Killer would nod his masked head, “Thank you we greatly appreciate your help in fixing our ship. We will do anything for you while we wait for our ships to be fixed, and once done we will leave, and hopefully sometime in the future run into you again and pay you back.” Killer would sigh thankfully at Captain Brig’s words. She would simply smile, nodding her head at Killer.

“The pleasure is all mine. Angus and Yael will ask you what your best attributes are, and you all will be set in different places to help around as payment for now.” (Y/n)’s smile now a gentle and endearing smile instead of the cold stature she had moments ago. “Now excuse me, I must continue to work on your Victoria cause fucking hell it won't fix itself.” she would chirp happily, as turning back around and with quick steps, back into the air she goes towards the Victoria, reaching her hand up tapping a button on her hand again the loud music continuing from where it stopped.

Angus would motion for them to follow, and they would do so, Wire though couldn't help but stare back at the Captain of this ship with such marvel. A ferocious but caring understanding woman. Wire turned his tall frame back towards where the others were headed, and he would quickly follow, catching up.

Kid was assigned helping with fixing machinery, Killer was assigned in the kitchen, Heat and Wire was assigned in helping make sure the sails and the ship was clean. Law and Bepo were assigned to help in the medical bay.

Kid was having the time of his life talking with other tinkers while talking about how he could help them, as well as giving him some time on things. For once, Kid wasn't snapping back at people. Killer was enthralled to work with people who knew how to cook. He also learned that the white haired lady was the second in charge of the kitchen, her name being Umai comically enough. Both of them got along with one another quite well, having the same interest of wanting to hide their faces due to being insecure about their faces. Wire and Heat had fun getting to know the shipwright crew that they were working with, some of them being kids who marveled at Wire's height and Heat's scars. Law and Bepo felt like they were in heaven with the amount of medical supplies they had on this ship. Yael, also being the doctor and herbalist of the ship would just cackle at their faces, upon seeing how much stuff they had, and items that would also help with injuries.

Time would fly as they did their business, helping the shipwright crew with their daily business and chores. Soon in the distance, kinda muffled, the lunch bell would ring twice. Everyone would begin to make their way to the galley to eat.

Kid's crew would sit at one end of the many tables, and on the same table at the other end was Law's crew. Already food piled onto their plates as they began to eat and talk with one another of how everything was going with their respective assigned jobs at the moment.

“Fuck man! When I tell you I have never been this rock hard then ever before, well i fucking am! It's so fucking nice to geek out about shit with other people for fucking once.” Kid would laugh loudly. Killer would roll his eyes under his mask, his shoulder shaking a bit saying that he's laughing quietly.

“Not the rock hard part, but I agree. The cooks in the kitchen are all very nice and welcoming. They definitely know what they are doing.” Killer would slurp some of his noodles through his mask.

Law on the other side of the table hearing this would roll his amber eyes, shaking his head softly. Though he did have to agree with Killer. Yael knew a lot of stuff and was glad that he and Bepo got to learn some new things today from Yael. Everything about everyone on this ship knew what they were doing and seemed to do everything with a passion.

Though Law's mind would go back to (Y/n). Thinking of how she lost both of her legs and arms to have the need for prosthetics. Who built her prosthetics? Did she perhaps build them herself? How has she managed to be under the World's government knowledge for so long, not a single peep about the Shipwright Pirates. So many questions spiraled around in his head while he ate. Bepo was talking to Shachi and Penguin about what Yael had shown him and Law in the medical bay. Penguin and Shachi got to help around on deck making sure everything was clean and tidy with a small group consisting of a few kids, teens, and some adults.

Yael would stroll past their table, Law's and Bepo's attention turned towards her as she walked toward the grand staircase headed towards where Grid's wearhouse was. A plate in her hand, and repeating what she did the other day, hitting the metal doors with her foot, slowly the huge metal doors ever so slightly opening, and the same metal hand reaching out grabbing the plate and receding back through the door as it closes. Yael would quickly make her way back over to the table where the two crews sat, sitting in between Law and Kid. Setting down her own plate full of food she would begin to dig in eating it like an animal.

Kid would glance over at her with wide eyes, this woman herself is definitely beating him by how fast and animalistic she was eating her food. She must always be hungry…remind him of a stupid monkey of an emperor. Kid would shake his head turning his attention back to his food to continue to eat happily and being in his own world while talking with his commanders.

Then all peace and comfortable loud speaking in the mess hall would come to a close and the loud panicked bells ringing. Everyone eating would freeze quickly getting up and rushing out of the messhall leaving their plates of food on the tables. Yael choked on her food coughing then hitting her chest violently trying to help her catch her breath. Law seeing everyone panic leaving the messhall quickly he would look over to Yael with a concerned look in his amber orbs. “Yael what's going on?”

“The alarm bell! We have marines on us! Quickly up! UP!” she would scream as she would get up rushing out towards the door that leads to the deck. The Heart Pirates and the Kid pirates would share a look with one another before quickly standing and following after Yael quickly.

Rushing down the hallway to the deck, emerging out onto the deck they would see the shipwright pirates rushing around getting the cannon’s ready, the smaller ship that belongs to the shipwrights, slowly being hauled up into the air by large chains and rope so now the inner part of the ship was empty. “Find your groups that you were with earlier! Get with them and ask them what you need to do! We are going to need all the help we can get! Law Bepo you are with me!” She would turn heading towards the stairs that led to the upper deck where the Helm was. Angus is already up there talking with some of the Helms men and women.

Yael with Law and Bepo following close to her, keeping up with her, they would get onto the helms deck. “How many Marines do we have on us?” Yael would run up to Angus asking quickly.

“We have three sinkers!” Angus would yell while then barking orders at helms men and women. Sinkers? Law would then look over to where Angus was pointing for Yael to see the marine ships. They were large scale Marine ships, but not as big as the Shipwright’s Brig. So they must have code names for different types of marine ships, which was actually pretty genius then giving the marines credits for calling them their actual names. “Turn hard port! We need to face them head on!” Angus would cry out angrily. It had been months since they last had their run-in with marines.

“What are you going to do? If you go down the middle of them you will get sunk!” Law would turn his head towards Angus, what they were doing was something really sketchy that could sink their large lucious ship.

“Dont worry, we know what we are doing! There is a reason no one knows about us yet!” Angus would laugh, as suddenly the sounds of huge metal doors were opening, looking down he would see the huge door’s to the warehouse opening. Suddenly a long metal track would start to extend down the middle of the ship to the very tip of the ship. Suddenly sounds of things coming to life as suddenly this large scale cannon would zoom out, and ontop of this cannon was (Y/n) with a vicious wide smug grin on her face. Violence and a crazed look to her eyes.

What the hell were they doing now?

Notes

Everybody is all smiles for the group picture, from heroes to villains and everything in-between. Even characters who were otherwise sticks in the mud like Hank genuinely smile for the picture. Villains such as Muntz, de la Cruz, Lotso, Thunderclap and his gang, Syndrome, Evelyn, Randall, Waternoose, Hopper, Skinner, and Ercole, as much of evil psychopaths they were, are seen tenderly and respectfully singing along. Even Sid, who was a massive bully to Hannah, is seen giving her a kind brotherly embrace. Also, most movies’ main cast seem to be cramped together. Even the villains stand near their respective heroes, everyone in a healthy relationship with their families and loved ones are tenderly holding each other close, and many of the larger characters offer their bodies for the smaller ones.

Forky, Heimlich, Dory, Jack-Jack, Mater, WALL-E, and one of the triplets wave at the camera.

Dim and Wee Dingwall give the camera dopey smiles.

The egg-shaped bluebirds and the gawky bird stand perched above the entrance. The bluebirds are happy to have the gawky bird with them, a far cry from how they treated him in their short.

Sulley carries Boo tenderly in his arms. Helen does the same to Jack-Jack, as do Presto with Alec, Carl and Russell with Kevin’s babies, Elinor and Fergus with their triplet sons, Embarrassment with Envy, Massimo with Machiavelli, and Izzy with Sox.

Terri attempts to dance before his other half stops him.

Hank carries Marlin, Dory, and Nemo in a coffee pot.

Voyd and Abby giddily bounce in place, clearly the most excited for the photo.

Linguini carries Remy while Colette holds Django and Emile.

WALL-E and EVE hold the umbrellas from The Blue Umbrella.

HAN-S still can’t stay still, shaking aggressively as the photo is taken.

Kevin and her babies take the time to mimic Carl once again.

Maudie and the Clan Dingwall hunk share a loving look.

Young Macintosh flexes his pecs while giving the camera a cocky smile, the same type of smile given by characters like Terry, Darby, and Clod.

The Witch has her Crow standing perched on her shoulder.

Being stationary volcanoes, Uka and Lele are unable to leave their photo. Thankfully, they have Thunderclap and his gang to hold it so they can be in the group picture.

Nostalgia sticks her head out from behind Embarrassment, clearly hiding from the other emotions.

Riley, Grace, and Bree all carry Knick together while Riley’s parents carry the Miami and Florida knick knacks, Val and the Fire Hawks carry the Egypt, Jamaica, Palm Springs, Israel, and Death Valley knick knacks, and Coach Roberts carries Sunny Atlantis in her fish bowl.

Cindy, Son’s fiancée, winks at the camera as the photo is taken.

Machiavelli gives the camera his standard bored look.

Mei has her red hair, panda ears, and panda tail, continuing to embrace her panda.

When the 3DS version came out, I was thinking that maybe these guys would be part of the sequel. I was REALLY disappointed when the console version didn't have any of my ideas. Do you have any fancasts for who should voice/play any particular characters in a Metroid show/movie? Of course Samus is a more loaded topic, and some characters like Raven Beak and Anthony have VAs, but what about Ridley? Mother Brain? Kanden? If you wanna get really speculative, what about Sylux?

Okay okay this is my time to pitch for Mother Brain either Cate Blanchett (for her role as Hela in Thor: Ragnarok), or Angela Bassett (for her role as Shatter in Bumblebee); I’m leaning more towards the latter because Bassett’s performance was specifically an evil duplicitous robot who puts on this friendly facade, that either reins in or lets loose her more sadistic, reckless male counterpart that has big child with a magnifying glass and ant hill vibes (AKA Ridley). There’s this very sickly sweet yet condescending and insincere tone to Mother Brain in my head. I’ve been sitting on this fan cast since forever and I’m so glad for the opportunity to bring it up. I’ve also considered Lorraine Toussaint, for Shadow Weaver from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and Masago from Star Wars: Visions. Lots of gaslighting “Join me in bringing order to the galaxy” and “I totally backstabbed everyone for good reasons” vibes.

Can’t think of anything for anyone else, at least in terms of specific actors. But for voice HCs… For Kanden, I’d prefer him to just be silent entirely, and for the rare times he speaks it’s in a low, rumbling, presumably Enoema dialect; That way it still preserves the idea of him being incomprehensible, alien, not quite heard or understood by the viewer.

For Ridley, it’s hard to describe but I like to have him with this almost buzzing filter, like he’s speaking through a radio; No static though! So not necessarily a raspy voice. I HC him as speaking the way parrots do, so his mouth and lips don’t necessarily move. Despite my previous comparisons, no I’m not considering Justin Theroux as a fan cast, too deep unless he shows a lighter vocal range. At which point it’d feel too perfect not to pair him up with Bassett again lol.

Kraid I’m still figuring out because despite him being a fave I’m obsessed with, somehow I’m still struggling to nail his personality and dynamic with Ridley and Mother Brain… But I am kinda inspired by this brief, slavering line by Benedict Campbell’s performance as King K. Rool, used in this fanmade Captain N reboot trailer, since I see a lot of similarity to K. Rool and Kraid;

K. Rool is often paired with Ridley because they were revealed back to back in cinematic trailers for Ultimate, being heavyweight villain entries to Day One franchises in Smash that otherwise had only heroes, with a huge amount of hype and demand about them for years no less. They’re even both reptilian pirates!!! Sakurai evidently picked up on the similarities because when doing Kraid’s Spirit battle, he used K. Rool to represent him. Sometimes I consider taking my perception of K. Rool’s personality and just transplanting it into Kraid, because it’s not as if I’m imagining doing a pitch for a(nother) Donkey Kong show haha…

I always thought Kraid’s Super design gave me vibes for a voice like Polpo’s from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, either his original VA Hideo Ishikawa or Brook Chalmers for the English dub. I’ve considered Polpo as an inspiration for Kraid since they’re both huge fat villains who spend all their time in a room they somehow managed to fit in, and rely on a bunch of defenses to even get to them; But are still incredibly dangerous and high-ranking themselves, giving out orders from within their ‘cells’… They even have some strange regeneration going on with their fingers.

Polpo is a wealthy guy with a taste for the finer things in life, and Kraid seems built for defending things, more on that in another post; So characterizing him as a dragon with a hoard of treasure (making both Space Pirate lieutenants dragons, fittingly) and leaning into the material greed aspect of the Space Pirates, feels appropriate. Though sometimes I worry about leaning into fatphobic stereotypes by characterizing Kraid as a hedonist…

Of course, I consider the Dread design the new standard for Kraid now, and the vibes there feel more K. Rool to me… But at least more stereotypically piratey, which is good because I want to hearken to the OG vibes behind the term ‘Space Pirate’ before Metroid evolved the group into an entire military coalition. There’s also Darin De Paul as Sloth from Darksiders III, who even resembles Kraid, esp the more insectoid interpretation that almost made into Prime. Sloth’s vibe is meant to be more apathetic, but that might be relevant to Kraid’s static position, and even if toned down is a way to foil the more aggro ambition of Ridley and Mother Brain; He relies a lot on minions, something I also consider for Kraid. And simply for vibes is Clancy Brown doing Hades from God of War III, there's the deep and gravelly inflection, plus a monologue for vengeance that could hearken to Kraid outliving all of the other Space Pirates.

Monkey D. Luffy x Reader

Summary: Luffy rescues his wife from the Big Mom pirates

Warning: based on whole cake island arch. Do not proceed if you do not want spoilers.

Part V

Now looking back, you could kick yourself silly for not taking Luffy up on his offer to join his crew when you had the chance.

In your fears of being chased and caught by the marines, you denied your a chance for adventure with the Straw Hat pirates.

It was so fun being with them that night. Why did you refuse Luffy’s offer?

Now you get to bask in your regret after having been chased and caught by the Big Mom pirates.

Standing before the pirate emperor, you wished you hadn’t gone aboard the merchants ship, when instead, you could’ve been on the thousand sunny, sipping cocktails and sunbathing on the deck grass.

A long fight later, and the merchants ship crew are long dead, and your fate remains at the mercy of Big Mom who took a keen interest in your strength.

“Ma-ma-ma-ma! You’re quite an interesting find! You must be the strongest Haki user I’ve ever seen, and by my experience, that’s definitely saying something. I think I’ll spare you.” Big Mom announces making you feel grateful at the prospects at your survival “You’ll be quite a fine addition to my family.” The feeling of relief is quickly fleeting, spiralling to defeat.

Once you’re married in, there is no escaping Big Mom.

“I’m already married.” You say, hoping to any god listening that Big Mom will spare your life and not force you to marry someone from her hoard.

“I’m well aware Monkey. Y/n.” Big Mom waives your excuse. “I think you would suit my son Katakuri just fine. Two strong Haki users are bound to heir a strong Haki protege.”

“Hell no! Listen here lady. I’m not marrying anyone! I’ve already got a husband, and that’s how it’s staying!” You challenge. Fears be damned, if you’re loosing your freedom, then it’s not a life worth living for.

“What makes you think you’ve got a choice girl?!” Big Moms voice seeps with venom. “You’d seriously rather die? What kind of idiot are you?”

“There’s no life if there is no freedom!” Your yell back, voice booming across the room with determination.

“Don’t you throw out your conquerors Haki to me you little brat! Listen here girl, that rubber idiot is on his way to my Island to take back his crew mate Sanji.” Your eyes bulge at the news. “Yes, that’s right. Vinsmoke Sanji is here marrying my daughter. Marry my son with no fuss and I won’t squash Straw hat.” You stare up unbothered at her threat. “Mark my words. If you become difficult, I’ll make sure Sanji has a hard and unhappy life.” Big Mom grins at your crumbling resolve.

You thought of Luffy and all of your past adventures together, and many more adventures ahead. That’s all you needed to reinvigorate your resolve. “Shove it hag! Sanji is a big boy, I’ll remind him where he belongs!” Big Moms vein pops from her forehead. “I’m not gonna marry your son and I’m not gonna join your stupid crew, because I already have a Captain! And my husband- he’s going to be king of the pirates!” You yell with all your might, making sure everyone felt the authenticity of your claim.

“Marriage or Death?!” Big Moms voice booms. But not a moment sooner, Luffy blasts through the wall, his hand impossibly inflated.

“That’s my wife you Jerk!” And with all his might, Luffy’s fist comes smashing down.

Besides Smash, yeah DQ even crossed with Mario before. There was a boardgame themed game Fortune Street for one.

Then the two Captain N episodes. Both S1 and S2 used Mario sound effects and the term Warp Zone, plus the former had some SMB/SMB 2 music. Also the S2 episodes premiered in the block "Captain N and The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3".

The Nintendo Power Handbook if you want to get even more technical shows you the naming feature and has Mario, as well as Link and Nester as possible names for the Hero.

Sadly, The Hero being in Smash is pretty much my first experience actually engaging with the franchise. Clearly, they needed more crossovers! XD

So like, Sheik (a!oot) is a fighter in smash but in-game...kinda gets his shit handed to him at every turn lmao. Same with TP Zel, so those two are up for debate. Child!OOT has virtually no fighting skills but when she grows up she might participate in the Imprisoning War to yeet Ganon into the Twilight realm so its also a shrug for her. (Tho they both can wield bows!). ALBW is also a fighter in smash but afaik there's no real evidence she can fight outside of it.

Tetra fights in HW! And, of course HW Zelda/Sheik can fight in a variety of ways. Good for her! ST Zelda ALSO fights in HW! Though it's as her ghost/armour form so she'd probably need some training for her hylian one. Unless post-game she retains the ability to go ghost?

AOC can also fight since yknow that's the flavor of game and she'd be one of the nukes. Sksw Zel would also be a nuke BUT! she's also a melee fighter! Remember that she was in the knight's academy too! She knows how to wield a sword! And while I don't think BOTW Zelda would be too helpful-- a lack of training and also the Hylia's powers fading post-game, there's a case to be made with TOTK Zel since she spent however long in the past participating in THAT Imprisioning war plus whatever power you hc her keeping from the secret stone deal.

ALTTP/LA Zel defo has some kind of magic ability (tho whether its combative is up for debate) but I know in the manga she can wield a fencing sword and tried to attack Agahnim with it (and also DID attack Link with it lol).

OOX Zelda has no evidence of fighting or magic afaik. Neither does FS, FSA, or MC.

(edit bc I forgot the original games lmao) (and wanted to add the unofficial ones)

LOZ1 Zel has no fighting ability OR magic ability in canon but like... that is a world overrun with monsters. IMO she's got to have SOMETHING. AOL Zel is finniky bc in game she's asleep and clearly failed the fight with the evil wizard what's-his-face BUT in all the supplemental material (cartoon, manga, comics) she's a fighter on par with Link (but without magic afaik).

NOW ONTO THE UNOFFICIAL/UNRELEASED ZELDAS

EOW! You cannot keep her from the front lines after her adventure. She is NOT going to watch the people she cares about get spirited away again. No idea if she's going to lose her wand at the end but even if she does she'll find a way, she's very creative. Would be more than happy to learn from the others.

COH Zel- she's already a fighter, tho she might dance while doing it. Same with Shadow Zel from the same game.

FOE Zel didn't really do anything? But by WOG she's become a boss bitch protagonist. Good for her!

ZA Zel is also a boss bitch protagonist and has genuinely seen the Horrors. With regular tloz stuff? Easy. A nuke not because of magic, but because she can just DECIMATE them.

Hilda-- that bitch BITES!! She is a FIGHTER!

Styla (TH)....Is not a fighter. But she is very good at stealth, so maybe a scout? If she were to learn, she'd be the rogue.

Already mentioned the original cartoon BUT Captain N Zelda is also a bad bitch u can't keep her down. She doesn't bite but WILL go for the throat <3

If I ever write a Zeldas meet au (it'll happen soon) it'll be over in like 10k words/10 in fic minutes. They wouldn't have trust issues or whatever they would just fix it immediately by pointing the nuclear bomb Zeldas at the problem. Maybe soften it up a bit first with the melee fighters. Only reason it would take longer was if the problem wasn't right next to them to start with

Captain N: Adventures in Smash

Chapter 4

AN: This was written in 2 AM btw. Also, the old fanfics of Captain N: New Adventures that I’ve written in the past few months are now considered prototypes of this fanfic series I’m currently writing. Constructive criticism is appreciated.

A couple days has passed since the day they’ve entered Cyberworld. There hasn’t been much trouble around, leading to the three teens doing things on their own. Most of the time it’s taking care of their families and personal needs, especially with jobs.

Wren is studying and practice driving to get her permit and license, along with working at her family’s restaurant that they own nearly 2 decades ago. Chester is also working at his job, most of which being side gigs like pet sitting and yard work. Melody likes working online but hasn’t gotten herself a job yet.

On Friday night, Wren just got back from work and is currently bored. So to curb that, she decided to call up her friends on Discord.

Wren: Hey guys

Melody: Hey Wren, hey Chester. How’s your day going?

Wren: It was a little tiring. And slow too. We barely got any customers while I wrap some noodles until my aunt took over, which by the way I taught her how to do that.

Chester: Same as always. At least I got some money and energy out while walking dogs.

Wren: Nice, Nice. So anyway, do you guys want to go to Cyberworld?

Melody: Heck yeah. I want to meet up with the actual fighters there, maybe even see the smash house myself.

Chester: Sure. But before that, I made a sort of golden rule here. We must not let anyone know about this. Not even my dad.

Wren: Got it. But if anyone asks about our belts, can we tell them that it’s a sort of fashion thing?

Chester: Yeah. Sure. Whatever floats your boat. Anyways, let’s go.

With a press of a button, the three were then transported to Cyberworld. They then landed onto some ground and in front of them is the Smash House.

Melody: Woah. Cool.

Chester: So this is the smash house. Must be something similar to college dorm rooms at home.

Then they heard a swoosh.

Chester: What was that?

Then they heard it again. And again, and again. Wren became well aware of the sound, similar to that of a bird. More notably, it sounds similar to Pit’s wings. When the time struck, she grabbed the arrow that was aiming towards Chester.

The attacker landed himself on the ground.

Dark Pit: You did good on catching that arrow, for a mere human rookie.

Wren: I knew it was you Dark Pit!

Dark Pit was taken aback by her statement. How did she know his name? That doesn’t matter, all it matters is to win the battle behind these 3 strangers.

Dark Pit: Seems like you know me well. I heard about the conversation that Pit and Palutena talked about you guys, with one of them being the captain’s son coming here to protect us. If one of you truly is the next captain, then I challenge you for a fight.

Chester: I’ll do it.

Wren: Chester don’t-

Chester: I have to

Chester steps up and pulls out the joycon, turning it into a blade. He puts up a stance, getting ready to fight. Dark Pit does the same.

Dark Pit: Oh this is gonna get interesting.

Chester: Bring. It. On.

As they start running up to take hits, a certain angel went in between them, stretching out his arms, and yelled.

Pit: STOP FIGHTING!

Both boys stopped. Pit looked at the two.

Pit: What are you two doing?

Wren: Pit! Look I can explain what’s going-

Chester: *Points to Dark Pit* He started it.

Wren: Damnit, Chester.

Pit sighs, shaking his head.

Pit: Anyway. I’m sure you already knew Dark Pit. But incase you haven’t, he’s a mirror self of me.

Melody: Like your brother, right?

Pit: Something like that, yeah. What are you guys doing here, though?

Wren: We got a little bored so we decided to check up on you guys and meet up with the other fighters. To be fair, we all have personal lives.

Dark Pit was sulking at the back as the conversation went on. He decided to cut in on their talking.

Dark Pit: You’ve gotta be kidding me! My fight with the original captain’s son, or at least he is, has been wasted by you.

Pit: Oh cheer up, Pittoo! You could fight Chester again in an arena or training room.

Dark Pit groaned. Pit turned to the others wanting to show them to everyone in the Smash House, knowing how eager these three teens want to meet them.

Pit: Come on, let’s go inside.

Once everyone got inside, they could see so many fighters in one room. Many of them were talking and hanging out with each other. Half of them were missing, likely because they were in their own rooms. Megaman looked at them as he finished talking with Shulk. He walked up to them in greeting them.

Megaman: Hey guys. What brings you all here?

Wren: Oh y’know, just saying hi to the other fighters. Just recently met Dark Pit thanks to Pit, albeit in an unexpected way.

Pit: Hey Rock!

Dark Pit: …Hey…

Megaman: It’s nice that you met another one of our roster. I hope that everyone else likes you all too.

Melody: Hey Megaman, can you give us a tour of this place. Maybe knowing some stages and other places would be nice.

Megaman: Sure thing. Although it’s a little late at night, however.

Chester: Don’t worry. We’ll be free this Saturday and Sunday.

They all laughed as Dark Pit left the group, not wanting any part of the group whatsoever. Two people walked up to them, Megaman looking behind him.

Samus: So this is the infamous captain's son, I see? I’ve heard about you from a few people.

Megaman: Oh hi Samus, hi Simon.

Pit: Hey Sam, Simon. These guys are Chester, Wren, and Melody. *turns back to the group* Everyone, these two are Samus Aran and Simon Belmont.

Simon: Pleasure meeting you three.

Chester: Nice meeting you too, Simon. *shakes hand* You too Samus.

It was Samus’s turn to have her hand shaken. It truly is a nice and warm welcome for the newcomers, especially if they were fans of the characters and their games. Wren decided to walk around a bit, taking a good look at the place.

Wren: I wonder what comes in store to these worlds, especially to where they came from. *bumps into Little Mac from behind* Oh I’m sorry I didn’t mean to!

Little Mac: It’s alright. I wasn’t looking but- hey, you’re new here. What’s your name?

Wren: My name’s Wren Chaiya and I came here with these two. *points to Melody and Chester* It’s a long story, and a complicated one at that. By the way, their names are Chester and Melody.

They looked at each other with Wren having in a sophisticated look before breaking down into a laughing fit. Little Mac joining in.

Wren: I thought it’d be funny or cool in my head in introducing my friends that way! *wheeze* Now it just looks so dumb!

Little Mac: Oh c’mon, I think it’s a great way to introduce them! *laughs* I’m Little Mac, by the way!

Wren: It’s great meeting you, Little Mac. It’s just that I want to say hi with everyone in this house. Say, do you think that there could be over 30 fighters in here?

Over in the distance, a couple people are looking at the others talking and greeting each other. One of the persons looking over is non other than Palutena, the goddess the teens met days ago.

Palutena: Seems like they’re getting along well with everyone.

here’s part one!

# BENNETT

where: your palm!

why: this man does not know how to stfu, so when you have to forcefully shush him, your palm is the best spot for his lips to kiss.

“It’s awfully quiet today,” you murmured as you turned on your heels, hearing the whirlwind of a boy coming your way. He nearly tumbled—so close to crashing at your feet but fortunately caught himself before he could hit the ground. He stood up straight, dusting his clothes with a breathy laugh before yelping out a pained, “Ow!”

“What happened?” You ask as you reach out to cup his face, checking his head and skin for any injuries.

The male chuckled with a closed eyed smile, “I got hit by a rock!” His voice echoed within the city, making you slightly cringe when your ears ached. He was quick to go off on a tangent, babbling about some nonsense that made you even more confused than before.

“Bennett,” you call out to grasp his attention. The moment he turned your way, you slapped a hand over his mouth with an amused smile. “I know you’re excited and want to talk, but we should move away from the Knights of Favonius headquarters before Captain Kaeya kills us.”

He kissed your palm gently, eliciting a ticklish sensation in your hand that made you pull away. Before you could do anything about his sneaky kisses, he grabbed your hand and began dragging you away, talking about some adventure team he was putting together.

# CHONGYUN

where: your shoulders!

why: he likes the smoothness of your shoulder when he lays down behind you and can rest easily without being judged.

The bedroom door creaked open to reveal the blue haired male who stood in the doorway with a pensive look on his face. Upon seeing you lying in your shared bed, he exhaled deeply and you could practically see relief wash over is features. “[y/n],” he breathed out as he shuffled into the room, scurrying over the bed to climb onto the silk sheets and lay himself in the spot behind you.

He wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling your body into his chest as gently as possible. As hesitant as he was, he was way too tired to be reluctant about holding you even thought you clearly felt the same need for touch as him. “’m so tired.”

After a long day of training, he was exhausted and was in desperate need of your touch in order to replenish the energy he had depleted earlier that day. It was only much better now that you were both living together and were able to cuddle as much as needed after work.

“Welcome home, my love.”

He buried his face in the crook of your neck, doing his absolute best to push away the strong emotions that burned inside of his heart. He refused to flare-up in front of you ever again, but with you unknowingly doing things to stir him up, he was always struggling to keep calm.

Peppering kisses along your shoulders, you felt a shiver run down your spine at the cold sensation of his lips on your skin. It was a blissful feeling, warming up your heart with love despite how cold his body truly was. Too beautiful.

# RAZOR

where: your eyelids!

why: this one may sound weird but he just gets curious when he keeps watch and tends to do it without a thought.

Razor stood tall at the peak of the mountain that you both temporarily resided on. His chin was held high, chest puffed out with a sense of responsibility flowing through his veins at the thought of watching over you while you slept to keep you out of harms way. It wasn’t necessarily a demanding duty but for you, it meant a thousand times more than it usually would have.

The boy approached your sleeping body. You were rested on the ground under his jacket that barely shielded you from the cold weather tonight presented to you both. He gently tugged his jacket further up your body, covering your arm that had been slightly exposed.

You were cute like this, sleeping so peacefully with so much trust in the guy who could barely communicate yet you loved him so much. It was amazing.

Subconsciously, he bent down and placed a chaste kiss on your eyelid. You stirred in your sleep, forcing him to jolt away in surprise before settling when you murmured something sleepily, smiled and then relaxed. Your behavior was new to him and yet, it brought so many different feelings into his heart. Unknowing to you, he smiled genuinely and patted your head gently.

“You rest. I keep watch.”

# XIAO

where: your forehead!

why: he just thinks it is less embarrassing than trying to kiss you on the lips openly + less chances of him getting denied the kiss.

His expression was rather dark as you stood in front of one another. It looked like he was thinking deeply about something but you brushed it off, assuming it was just his way of sulking since you two were about to split for the night.

“I packed you some Almond Tofu, so you can eat some on your way back. I also got you a jacket to wear since it might be a little cold in the evening. I know you don’t sleep and stuff, so I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” Your rambling about his well-being wasn’t new to him, which is why he didn’t interrupt you. He watched with the same dark expression that seemed scary but if you looked closely, you would see just how soft those eyes had become after spending so much time with a “mere human” like you.

Grasping you by the back of you head, he pulled you forward and leaned in briskly, kissing your forehead softly before pulling away and turning around. You barely had a second to recover as he adjusted his mask on his face and disappeared from your sight, muttering nothing but a simple, “be careful.”

You smiled at the tingling sensation on you skin, knowing he had only escaped to avoid feeling any type of emotion after kissing you so brazenly. As mean as Xiao seemed, he really was a simpleton with you.

# XINGQIU

where: the back of your hand!

why: do i have to explain?

“Xingqiu, where are we going?” You asked with a tired smile on your lips as you allowed yourself to be dragged along this upward slope with no set destination in mind. The boy simply laughed, pulling you faster until you were nearly tripping over your own feet. By the time you had planned to complain once more, he came to an abrupt stop and you almost bumped into his body if it wasn’t for your quick senses. “Where are we?”

“Take a look, my liege. Quite fascinating, is it not?” He said as he took a seat on the branch perched on the top of the hill, big enough for the two of them to sit on. You plopped beside him, admiring the sun that was beginning to set while Xingqiu opened a book to the page he had left off on.

“My life seems fulfilled when I am sat here with a book in my hands and you by my side. Don’t you agree?” HIs words were sincere, surprisingly void of that mischievous tone he usually had these days.

“I’m not particularly fond of books like you, but I am extremely fond of you. So, yes, I do agree.” You said with a cheesy smile, leaning in his direction. The boy abruptly stood up, and you rose an eyebrow in confusion.

Bending his body slightly, he held out his hand to you until you placed yours on top of his. Once you did so, he pressed his lips to the back of your hand and flashed you an easy smile. “With this, I owe my life to you, my liege. A vow much greater than marriage.”

# ZHONGLI

where: your lips!

why: I legit couldn’t think of a non-lips spot so i gave up. mans just likes the way your lips taste like his favorite wine. two good things.

He admired his cup with bright eyes, absolute taken with the way it tasted on his tongue and hadn’t changed in all these years. It was a beautiful emotion that was a mixture of happiness and nostalgia, plus a bit of romance considering he was here with the one he loved.

“What do you think?” Zhongli asked, eyes full of curiosity as he turned in your direction. You hadn’t said anything all night and he assumed you weren’t enjoying the wine he had presented to you so happily.

On contrary, it was way too good to be wasted, so you chose to drink it slowly in order to savor the beautiful taste that somehow reminded you of Zhongli himself. Maybe it was because he talked about this wine too much.

“It tastes good,” you murmur, leaning into his side to gain a bit of warmth from the male who shared the emotion, leaning into your touch.

You glanced up at him, smiling softly when you already saw his eyes on you. “Stop staring so impolitely. Where are your manners?” You asked jokingly, giggling softly when Zhongli looked down and chuckled.

Leaning in, he cupped your cheek and smashed your lips together. He could taste the Osmanthus wine on you and it nearly made him melt into the kiss that he had long suppressed.

When he pulled away, a small smile settled into his lips, satisfaction in his eyes. “Osmanthus wine tastes the same as I remember.”

Fluff Alphabet - Monkey D. Luffy

a/n: hi hi hi! thank you for requesting! I hope you enjoy 💗

A-Activities (what do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?)

Luffy is a complete child at heart. He enjoys doing anything and everything! So long as you are there with him, he doesn’t particularly care what it is you are doing – if it’s with you he knows he’ll have the time of his life.

However, if Luffy were to pick something as his favourite activity to do with you, he would choose a water fight (weird considering his vulnerability to water but that doesn’t cross his mind in the moment). Chasing one another around, stomachs aching from laughter, cheeks sore from grinning too much. He’s never had so much fun, and he can’t tell if it’s because of the activity itself, or because it’s with you (ultimately, he decides that it’s both).

B-Beauty (what do they admire about their s/o? what do they think is beautiful about them?)

One of the things Luffy admires most about you is your unquenchable thirst for adventure; it’s own that rivals his own. You want to explore, live life freely and on your own terms. In Luffys eyes there is nothing more wonderful than that.

Honestly, Luffy thinks everything about you is beautiful. Every. Single. Thing. Right from the top of your head to the very tips of your toes. But, there is something about your laugh that he just finds so unbelievably intoxicating. When he hears you laugh - so carefree and so happy - his grin grows even wider. He wants nothing more than to hear that laugh for the rest of his life.

C-Comfort (how would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?)

This captain is a lot more emotionally intelligent that people think. He’s very in tune to what people like and dislike and he uses this knowledge to help comfort people. For example, on thriller bark after they find Zoro injured luffy attempts to give him a whole ass barrel of sake because “Zoro likes sake so it’ll make him feel better.” This same logic would apply when he’s trying to comfort you. He’ll find or do something you like because well it’ll make you happy. If food makes you happy, he’ll get you some food. If cuddles make you happy, well then you best be ready to be suffocated.

Another way I can see Luffy comforting you is by trying to make you laugh and smile. When people are laughing and smiling, they’re happy, right? So, by that logic all he’s gotta do is be goofy and then you’ll laugh like you usually do!

D-Dreams (how do they picture they future with their s/o?)

When he becomes the pirate king, you are right there with him. He can’t see himself settling down (by this I mean living in one place permanently). Luffy wants to travel the seas with you forever, going on adventure after adventure after adventure. He hasn’t really thought much about kids or anything like that, but all he has thought about is you and him growing old together.

E-Equal (are they the dominant one in the relationship or rather passive?)

Luffy is definitely not the passive one in the relationship, but I also wouldn’t say he’s the dominant one. He’s dependent on you and you’re dependent on him. It’s a relatively equally balanced relationship but it could even be argued that it’s only that way because of how Luffy is. He often just does what he wants when he wants regardless of your opinion. However, he also allows you to do the same. That’s not to say he doesn’t sit back and listen to your concerns if you voice them.

F-Fight (would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?)

Fights are a very rare occurrence in your relationship. Luffy isn’t one to maintain an argument for very long often cracking a joke or doing something silly causing you to laugh and break the tension.

On the very rare occasion that you are having a serious fight, Luffy can be extremely stubborn. Once he’s got something in his mind, its hard to make him think otherwise, so more often than not you will have to be the one to apologize if you want to move on from this.

G-Gratitude (how grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?)

Luffy is very aware of everything that you do for him, and he absolutely gushes about it to everyone he comes into contact with. He can’t stop talking about you. People who have never met you before suddenly seem to know about every single time you gave up a portion of your dinner to Luffy because he was still hungry but Sanji wouldn’t let him have anymore because dinner was over.

H-Honesty (do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?)

Luffy is an open book. He cannot keep a secret to save himself. Not even a good secret like a surprise party for you or something, in fact, the crew have to be the ones to plan surprise parties for you on luffys behalf cos he gets too excited and just blurts it out straight away. Basically, if there is something he isn’t telling you the only explanation is that he genuinely forgot. But as soon as you ask him, he’ll tell you - without hesitation.

Being with Luffy has helped you to be a little more carefree. He has taught you to embrace your youth. What’s the rush in growing up? Why does everything need to be so serious all the time? It’s okay to loosen up, and goof around as long as you are still dependable.

J-Jealousy (do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?)

Luffy does get jealous. But, not in the usual sense. He doesn’t get jealous of other people interacting with you, or with you interacting with other people. He trusts you fully, so there’s no reason for him to be jealous in that front. However, what he does get jealous about is you spending time with others, without him. Luffy gets serious FOMO, so if you’re doing anything and he’s not invited, that is when he gets jealous. This sweetie just wants likes to be included! On the off chance that you are doing something without him and Luffy starts to feel jealous, he will simply insert himself into the conversation or the activity. He does NOT care (LMAO).

K-Kisses (are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?)

Luffy is a very energetic kisser. There’s no real rhyme or reason to his movements he just smashes his lips against yours. He’s eager and enthusiastic, which can make him a bit sloppy at times, but he doesn’t care.

Your first kiss took you completely by surprise. The two of you were just hanging out then before you knew it, he had kissed you. It happened so quickly they you barely had time to process what happened, but he was just sitting there looking at you while giggling his little heart out.

L-Love confession (how would they confess to their s/o?)

When it comes to telling you how he feels, he approaches it as he does everything else; directly. He’s never been one to beat around the bush, rather always speaking his mind and being up front. With you it’s no different. The second he realizes how he feels about you, he’s on his way to tell you. No hesitation, no doubt, just 100% honesty. It doesn’t matter where you are or who might be around, Luffy will tell you in that very moment.

M-Marriage (do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?)

Marriage isn’t something Luffy has really thought about. The two of you are together constantly, you know you love each other, so why would you need to get married? It’s not that he’s against getting married, it just isn’t something he’s particularly concerned about. Well… that is until he hears the words ‘wedding’ and ‘party’. Once he’s heard that Luffy is set on getting married right then and there (that’s basically his proposal too). Any excuse for a party.

N-Nicknames (what do they call their s/o?)

To be honest, Luffy mostly just uses your name. He likes it because it belongs to you which makes it special. He does like to find out what nicknames you had as a child, he thinks those a pretty fun and makes him feel as though he’s known you for your whole life, so he does also use your childhood nickname/s.

O-On cloud nine (what are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?)

Luffy gets even more clingy. Clingy may not be the right word, but it’s the best way to describe it. When he’s in love he feels an overwhelming urge to be near you all the time. He craves your presence and your attention so is constantly asking you to play or chat or anything! He really just wants to spend time with you, more so than usual. The whole crew actually picked up on it quite instantly because they noticed the lack of Luffy in their day-to-day schedule. They knew it was more than platonic relationships Luffy had for you when he was five minutes late for lunch because he was too overjoyed by your attention.

P-PDA (are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?)

He’s all about showing affection both platonically and romantically. He catches you (and others) so off guard because one moment its silent and the next thing you know you’re hearing “gomu-gomu no…” and being tackled to the ground by a pair of rubbery arms. If Luffy wants to kiss you, he’s going to kiss you. He doesn’t have a care in the world about who may see.

Q-Quirk (some random ability they have that is beneficial in a relationship?)

Can promise you a life full of excitement. You never need to worry about your relationship getting ‘boring’ or ‘being stuck in a rut’ because that will never happen with Luffy. Each day is filled with adventure and something new to experience. There’s a whole world out there that you can experience together.

R-Romance (how romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?)

Many people wouldn’t expect it, but he is indeed romantic. It’s far from cliché and strays from the typical notions of ‘romance’ but it’s romantic, nonetheless. Luffy is just unapologetically himself. Because of this anything he does for you (even the littlest of actions), you know it’s sincere and comes from the heart. That is what makes Luffy romantic.

S-Support (are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? do they believe in them?)

Not supporting you in your goals and dreams goes entirely against Luffys character. He truly believes you, and anyone else for that matter, can do whatever they put their minds to. He is your number 1 supporter, actively helping you every step of the way. No one believes in you more than Luffy.

T-Thrill (do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship or do they prefer certain routine?)

When you’re with Luffy you don’t need to worry about spicing up your relationship. You will never once experience a boring day. The relationship is constantly filled with new places to go, and new things to see, and you’re fortunate enough to be able to do all of it together.

U-Understanding (how good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?)

Contrary to popular belief, Luffy is very emotionally intelligent (I said this earlier actually). He can read people freakishly well, and his s/o is no different. In fact when it comes to you his emotional intelligence only multiplies.

V-Value (how important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?)

As with most of the other relationships (platonic and familial) in his life your relationship is very important to him. For Nico Robin, he declared war on the world government. For Sanji, he went up against a Yonko and her crew. You would be no different. He would go to the ends of the earth (maybe further) for you. It’s just how he is. His relationships and his dream to be pirate king are not mutually exclusive, meaning, he can’t have one without the other.

W-Wild card (a random fluff headcanon?)

Brings you random little knick-knacks, or like a little memento from EVERY SINGLE island you go to. The items range from a pretty shell he saw on the beach to a funky looking figurine he spotted in a market.

X-XOXO (Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?)

Luffy loves to kiss and cuddle. He’s an extremely affectionate person. He practically clings to you like a koala bear. That physical contact is something he enjoys a lot; it’s really reassuring for him.

Y-Yearning (how will they cope when they are missing their partner?)

As long as Luffy is distracted and kept busy, he’ll be able to cope. He entertains himself and slowly counts down the days until he can see you. He builds up the excitement and he becomes like a child the night before a school unable to sleep or keep still; he just wants to see you.

Z-Zeal (are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind?)

This has been established already. All relationships (platonic, romantic, familial) hold a special place in Luffys life. He declared war on the world government, fought countless fearsome opponents all for the sake his friends (sometimes even people he just met). Your relationship with Luffy would be no different at all. In fact, for you, he would do all of that and much much more.

King sighed, staring up at the roof of his room. It had been a day since you all had left Vaizel and since you had been stuck in that pit of darkness.

You haven't been the same since. You flinched at loud noises or at quick movements. Your hands tended to shake at times when you held things. Not only that, but that night you woke up from nightmares, tears streaming from your eyes and screams ringing out through the Boar Hat. King and the other Sins were incredibly worried.

King's brows furrowed at the memory of what happened before you guys took off to the next village.

Ban dodged and ran as the flurry of daggers came flying towards him. With a grunt, he jumped up and kicked a dagger towards King, which he stopped right before it hit him.

"Are you screwing around, King?" Ban demanded. "Take this seriously! Attack like you're trying to kill me!"

"'Kill you,' huh?" King said, tilting his head. "Why?"

Ban's eyes narrowed. "I guess I wanna smash the Holy Knights and take back the kingdom as soon as possible."

He leaped and appeared behind King. King yelped as Ban threw his head down, barely being able to avoid crashing into the ground.

"'Take back the kingdom'?" King repeated, regaining his balance in the air. "I'm surprised to hear that out of your mouth. I thought you didn't care about anyone but yourself."

Ban turned to King, raising an eyebrow. "Ain't it the same for you?"

"I suppose," King said, summoning Chastiefol as a pillow and laying on it. "But I have my own special objective of helping Diane."

"I have one of those too," Ban said. King looked at him, surprised.

"We'll save the kingdom, and I'll take the Trumpet of Cernunnos that's hidden underneath as my reward," Ban said, fists clenched.

"The Trumpet of Cernunnos?" King asked in disbelief. "That's a ritual device used to commune with the Goddesses! What could you possibly want with that?" King's eyes widened in realization. "Wait, are you—"

"Yes," Ban nodded. "I'm gonna have them bring back Elaine!"

"Ban," King gasped. He then raised an eyebrow at Ban. "What about Y/N?"

Ban's eyes widened. He looked away from King, eyes conflicted. "I..." He shook his head and looked up at King. "I need to bring her back, King! I can't leave her like this. Not after all that she's done for me!"

King sighed and looked at Ban. His eyes widened when he saw how much pain he was trying to hide. King's eyes softened. "You're worried about them, aren't you? The Captain and Y/N?" Ban's breath hitched in his throat.

"I thought so," King said, floating closer down to the ground. "Deep down, I'm a mess too. They way they looked... It was like—"

"One more word, I dare you," Ban suddenly yelled, grabbing King by the collar. "I'll knock all your teeth out!"

"B-But surely you can see it too," King said, startled.

"Like hell!" Ban yelled. "Y/N and the Captain are nothing like those monsters! I'll never believe it!" Ban's eyes were filled with rage and fear at the memory of the demon that flashed in his mind.

King's eyes widened when Ban let go of him and gently pushed him away. "Ban..."

"The Captain said to follow him," Ban said, glaring down at the ground. "He said it to a crappy man who lived a crappy life since the day he was born and was shunned wherever he went!

"And Y/N... She accepted me for who I was. She didn't care who I was raised by or what my past was! She saw me as an equal and fought by my side. She put up with me all these years and trusted me enough to tell me about her problems! She killed and risked her life just to get me out of that stupid prison that I got myself into!" King's eyes widened at what Ban had said about you.

Ban took a shaky breath, refusing to look at King. "The only three easy-going weirdos like that are Elaine, the Captain, and Y/N."

King shook his head, sighing.

"AH!" You bolted upwards, breathing heavily. Your stared at the bedsheets as you tried to catch your breath, chills still running up your spine. You rubbed your forehead and sighed.

"Still can't manage to fall asleep, huh?"

You turned to look at Ban, who was sitting up and looking at you.

"Yeah," you sighed, annoyed. "I can't even manage to take a nap without these nightmares."

"That might be a problem," Ban said. "We're already almost to the next village according to the Captain. You need as much rest as you can get."

"Kind of hard to do when I can barely stay unconscious for two minutes before waking up screaming," you laughed, rolling your eyes.

Ban chuckled for a moment, then looked at you with a serious expression. "Y/N. Are you okay? Like... are you really okay or are you just pretending to be okay?"

You blinked, surprised. Your eyes softened at the thought of Ban worrying about you. "Yeah, I'm better. I try to joke about it so that it's not as scary as it seems, you know?"

You looked down, furrowing your brows. "I can barely even remember what happened, but at the same time I remember everything."

Ban nodded. "Well, if you aren't feeling okay, just tell me. You don't have to lie or pretend to me. I trust you and you trust me, remember?"

You laughed, your heart fluttering at the fact that he remembered what you told him a few years back. "Yeah, I remember."

"Good," Ban said, a small smile on his face.

You smiled back and looked back at the ground. 'I really am lucky to have someone like you in my life.'

You turned to Ban, not meeting his eyes. "Ban, could you... hold me again?" Your cheeks flushed red at the memory of when he held you that night when you broke him out of Baste Prison.

You shook your head. "I-I mean, I feel like it would make me feel safer and maybe that could help me sleep—! You don't have to if you're uncomfortable—"

"Just get over here already," Ban said, laughing. You glared at him, blushing.

You laid down on your right side and wrapped your left arm around his chest. He put his left arm under your head and his right arm around your waist. Your legs were wrapped around each other's.

"Captain said we'll be arriving around noon," Ban said. "Until then, get some rest."

You laughed. "Yeah, I'll try." You breathed deeply, taking in Ban's warmth that contrasted the cold blankets.

"Goodnight, Y/N," Ban said, looking at you with his glinting red eyes.

You smiled, finally feeling safe in Ban's arms. "Goodnight, Ban."
