This time of year can be truly joyous, but also truly stressful. Chores, errands, events, entertaining - there’s so much to do, it’s enough to overwhelm even the merriest of holiday merrymakers. Think of all those pesky relatives and shopping crowds to overcome. After all that, who wants to cook? Cooking for the holidays is no small feat - fortunately, in this as in so many things, cannabis can help. Make sure to have a little toke first as you whip up one of the recipes on our list.
A few brief notes for stoner chefs: edibles are a different ballgame, even for experienced smokers. Prepare your dishes with care and make sure you are aware of the potency and dosage per serving. Never give cannabis-infused food to someone without their knowledge and consent, and keep away from children and pets. If you are looking for a device to make your own cannabis-infused butter (aka cannabutter), the professionals at your local Beyond Smoke shop will be happy to assist you. Now relax and enjoy! Happy holidays from all of us at Beyond Smoke.
Cannabis Glazed Ham
Ingredients:
1/8 cup whole cloves
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup apple cider
½ cup orange juice
¼ cup cannabis-infused oil
¼ cup Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
Pinch salt
Smoked cured ham, 8-12 lbs
Heat oven to 300 degrees.
1. Place the ham on your work surface. Stud the ham with the whole cloves.
2. In a medium saucepan combine the brown sugar, canna-oil, apple cider, mustard, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Allow to reach a slow simmer, stirring frequently. The longer you cook the glaze the thicker it will. Allow the mixture to cool for at least 30 minutes.
3. Liberally brush the ham with the glaze. Bake for 1-2 hours, basting frequently. Allow to stand for about 20 minutes before slicing.
Cannabis-Infused Roast Turkey with Herb Gravy
Ingredients:
FOR THE TURKEY:
1 whole turkey (about 12-14 pounds), thawed and patted dry
1/4 cup cannabis-infused olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 lemon, halved
2 onions, quartered
1 bunch fresh rosemary
1 bunch fresh thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
FOR THE HERB GRAVY:
Drippings from the roasted turkey
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken broth
2 tablespoons cannabis-infused olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Marinating the Turkey:
Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, mix the cannabis-infused olive oil with minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Marinate the Turkey: Rub the cannabis-infused oil mixture both inside and outside of the turkey. Place some rosemary, thyme, lemon halves, and quartered onions inside the cavity of the turkey.
Refrigerate: Let the turkey marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for better infusion.
Roasting the Turkey:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
Prepare for Roasting: Remove the turkey from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. Place it on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
Roast: Place the turkey in the preheated oven. The general rule for cooking a turkey is about 13 minutes per pound. So, a 14-pound turkey would take about 3 hours to cook.
Baste: Baste the turkey every 30-45 minutes with the pan juices.
Check for Doneness: The turkey is done when an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 165°F (75°C).
Rest Before Carving: Once done, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute.
Making the Herb Gravy:
Collect the Drippings: Pour the drippings from the roasting pan into a bowl, leaving the browned bits in the pan.
Make a Roux: Place the roasting pan on the stove over medium heat. Add the cannabis-infused olive oil and flour to the pan, whisking to combine with the browned bits.
Add Liquids: Gradually add the chicken broth, continuing to whisk. Bring to a simmer.
Simmer: Cook the gravy until it thickens to your liking, usually about 10 minutes.
Season: Season with salt and pepper. Strain the gravy to remove any lumps, if desired.
Serving:
Serve the Turkey: Carve the turkey and serve it with the warm herb gravy.
Cannabis-Infused Green Bean Casserole
Ingredients:
Two nine ounce packages frozen cut green beans, thawed (you can also use canned and drained green beans)
Eight slices bacon
10 chopped cremini mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
One 10.75 oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
¾ cup of crispy fried onions
¼ cup melted cannabutter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and place the green beans into a casserole dish.
Fry the bacon until brown and crispy, remove from the skillet and drain most of the grease from the pan, leaving just enough grease to cook the mushrooms.
Saute mushrooms until tender and season with garlic and onion powder.
Pour in mushroom soup and bring the mixture to a light boil.
Pour the mixture over the green beans.
Crumble the bacon on top and sprinkle in the cheddar cheese.
Cover with the fried onions then brush with melted cannabutter.
Season with salt and pepper, then bake for 20 minutes until the sauce is bubbling.
Serve and enjoy!
Cannabis-Infused Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
5 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, (cooked, mashed)
2 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese
¼ cup cannabutter*
¼ cup regular butter
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped (optional)
Ground white pepper to taste
Directions:
Place potatoes in a large pot of lightly salted water. Bring to a boil, and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain, and mash.
While potatoes are still warm, in a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, cannabutter, milk, butter, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, and pepper. Sprinkle fresh rosemary on top. Serve and enjoy!
Cannabis-Infused Pumpkin Pie
Yield: One 9-inch pie
4 grams cannabis flower
2 14-oz cans sweetened condensed milk, divided
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 tsp kosher salt
¼ cup heavy cream
1 15-oz can unsweetened pumpkin purée
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 pie crust, store-bought
whipped cream, for serving
| Preparation – Cannabis | To prepare the cannabis, preheat oven to 200˚F. Grind your flower up finely. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in oven for 70 minutes. Remove, and let cool completely. Add decarboxylated cannabis into the top of a double boiler with 1 can of sweetened condensed milk. Bring to 220˚F, and keep at that temperature. Cook for 45 minutes to infuse, stirring every 5 minutes. Add about ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk, or more as needed, to replace what has evaporated. Strain through cheesecloth into a separate container. To strain, secure the cheesecloth around a heat-safe cup with a rubber band or tape, so you can properly push and strain liquid. Thoroughly squeeze through. Be sure to wear disposable gloves, as it gets sticky. Let cool.
Preparation – Pumpkin Pie | Preheat oven to 375˚F. Whisk infused milk, pumpkin purée, egg, 1 egg yolk, heavy cream, kosher salt and pumpkin pie spice in a medium bowl. Place chilled dough on a generously floured surface, and (if needed) roll out to an 11-inch circle, adding more flour to your rolling pin as needed. Carefully roll dough onto the rolling pin, then unroll over a 9-inch pie dish.
Press dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the dish. Trim any excess dough and form around edges. Fill pie crust, and distribute the pie filling evenly. Lightly tap the pan to settle the filling. Bake for 20 minutes or until crust is brown and filling is set. Let cool, and top with whipped cream.
| To Serve | Serve chilled or at room temperature. Cut pie into 10 equal slices.

What I discovered tonight while high
My wife had showed me a short video of people making quesadilla nachos and it looked stupidly good. So we were trying to figure out what to eat tonight and I started to think about what we had on hand that could be yummy like the video we saw, but without so much work.
And then I remembered we had a big box of chicken and cheese mini tacos from Costco in the freezer. So I put eight of those in the toaster oven. When I took them out, I laid them on a plate and smothered them with shredded cheese, and then put it in the microwave for 45 seconds to melt all that cheese.
After that, I spooned some salsa on top of the cheesy top layer, and then put some sour cream on top of that.
And I… I can’t believe how utterly delicious that was.
I mean, it was super simple, made with what I had I hand, and the result was SO GOOD!!
And if that’s not irrefutable evidence that cannabis should be legalized EVERYWHERE, then I don’t know what is.

Okay this is extremely random and hopefully you don’t mind me asking *inhale* BUUUUUT I ate an edible for the first time today and since I do believe you have experience in the weed business you could help me understand this more cuz like I ate about a third of a full edible n im not sure how many mgs were in it but like do you think it was too weak because I thought it’d be like… me tripping out and discovering the secrets of the universe and making jokes so uncharacteristically hilarious that it scares people but all I did was get so loving and joyous and horny and laughing at everything to now im just hungry as fuck. Overall I felt different for about 5 or 6 hours. But it wasn’t like crazy or anything, all it did was put me in a relaxed and happy mood but physically I felt nothing. Was that liek a weak dose or does that sound normal and would eating more next time get me more fucked up … if you know. I’m sorry if that question is stupid like i said it’s my first time n idk what im doing 💔
NO UR GOOD DON'T WORRY it's good to ask people but i gotta say im unfortunately not as experienced as id like to be, ive only ever tried smoking and homemade edibles :/ BUT i might still be able to help you here!!!!! it sounds like you were only a little high like in one of the lowest "levels". i get like that when im smoking and only take a few hits. barely feel anything physically but i do get hornier and more relaxed (and sometimes sleepy)
the first time you try weed it's very common that one of two things will happen: either you won't feel almost anything or it hits so hard you might even get a bad trip. that's like a very common thing, most people react like that and it was like that for me too (the first time i ever tried it i was at the beach and barely felt anything at all, just kept staring at the waves wondering when it was gonna hit and then i got sleepy and went home). another thing is if you're eating it the effects can take a long long long time to actually hit. like to me personally it's usually almost two hours until im actually feeling it and then three hours until it peaks. when it does i get a really good trip for around three or sometimes (depends on the mgs and what else i consumed during the day) even four hours and then it starts going away. there are some things you can do to feel it faster like eating it in an empty stomach but i don't recommend it at all. also if you eat it with chocolate or milk for whatever insane reason it tends to last a little longer i have no idea why?? but it's a real thing, it's why pot brownies (or any recipe involving chocolate) are so popular
did you have a trip sitter or just anyone else with you? if they had tried it before and ate as much as you did and managed to get high it was probably just because it was your first time. if you didn't eat as much as them it's also possible that you didn't eat "enough" (BUUUUT if you didn't cook it yourself it's like always better if you start by eating very little then you wait like an hour to see how you feel, if you don't feel anything THEN and Only Then you eat some more. if you didn't cook it yourself, you don't know how strong it is yk? better safe than sorry you don't want an unexpected green out). and if you ate the same amount and it was also their first time then maybe you just have a stronger metabolism it happens sometimes. if you wanna try again i recommend eating the same amount and waiting, if you only feel the same thing again maybe try eating some more and waiting even more
if it's eating not smoking it's good to take like a whole evening for that because like i said trips from edibles last way longer. can go for even eight hours sometimes
i hope this helps :]
#there's also the quality of the stuff you bought and whether whoever cooked it managed to decarb it correctly but if you don't know#who made it personally it's more likely you'll just have to trust them and assume it's good#if you wanna try cooking it yourself i recommend looking up cannabutter recipes and making sure the decarbing process is timed right#and the buds don't burn entirely!!!!!#i can send you the recipe i usually use but any you look up online would probably work tbh#cooking it is a lot easier than i first expected when i started lol#i hope this helps :DD#feel free to send more questions if you wanna#im not like a weed professional or anything at all but i do have Some experience so here it is#tagging for safety#cw drugs#cw drug#tw drugs#tw drug#i honestly don't count cannabis as a drug but better safe than sorry#drugs tw#drugs#cannabis#cannabutter#hotsingledadsdotcom#mutuals#moots#mutual#lovely asks#asks#ask#mine#not to be taken seriously#tw

WHY IS HEMP MILK THE BETTER ALTERNATIVE FOR YOU?
As consumer awareness continues to grow, an increasing number of individuals are making the switch from traditional cow's milk to plant-based alternatives. This shift is driven by multiple factors, including concerns about the health implications of consuming cow's milk and the rising incidence of lactose intolerance among the population. It is also amazing to ponder why humans are the only species on Earth that consumes milk from another species, hinting at the need for a closer examination of the nutritional and ethical aspects of this practice. In this context, the spotlight is on hemp milk, a highly nutritious and protein-rich plant-based alternative, which is becoming increasingly popular for its health benefits and versatility in various culinary applications.

Grandma will soon be reporting back on how her cannabutter cookies went - my first time attempting a proper bake :
Step 1/2/3/4)
The cannabutter was created many, many months ago, and has been frozen, but although the seal of the container was compromised. I have gone ahead and used it anyway. As expected, defrosting in the fridge, and then microwaving at small stints to bring it to a density that I could work with. I find cannabutter is much more dense, and thus, requires this. Microwaving the brown sugar helped greatly in improving its malleability, (molasses). A full bag of chocolate chips was definitely required, but I found the instruction to "sift the baking soda" a little unnecessary.
Step 5) I baked for 15 minutes at 180°C. This is longer then I would generally allow for something like a shortbread biscuit (for example). But I thought less moisture in the end might be better for storage (like a weed equivalent to sailors hard tack). The predicted 13 servings was remarkably accurate.
These are not beautiful cookies. They will not win any awards. But one hopes and prays that the result will be amicable to my tastes. Unlike my weed butter shortbread which smelt so repulsive I was totally unable to eat it. I will report back in a new edit on Tuesday, with the review.
13/01/25, Monday
D-Day for weed cookies has come. I have just had the smallest one, in full. The smell could be better, I can still smell the cannabutter (which does not appeal to me). BUT THE TASTE WAS LOVELY, the cookies are slightly crunchy, but have a nice, crumbly texture as you eat. I will report back later with a measure of their effectiveness.
16/01/25, Thursday, delayed appraisal
most effective,
with a duration of roughly five hours, one must say, that the results were very satisfactory. They were of a delightful strength, not to strong, not too weak. Although the duration was roughly five hours, they left a grogginess that was present for the next two days. During the described five hours, I played the piano and played Minecraft. I literally don't think I did anything else. This Saturday I shall attend a party with dear friends. The remainder of the cookies shall accompany me there, where they will then be shared, I shall try to ascertain the group opinion after (or during) the event, and I will report back.
20/01/25
My final update, a reflection on the mass taking of the remaining cookies at a party.
I believe, six or seven people, had by the end of the night, had a cookie. Results, in the moment (I myself was feeling it and unable to judge social situations with certainty). I felt a great disappointment, In order of memory I will recount individual reactions, whilst making full names hidden.
A1 - Felt strong effects on a single cookie. This individual had two individual experiences with these cookies, having another one two days earlier, which also caused a strong reaction. I was elated to hear that on the first occasion of their trying a cookie, after several hours they fell asleep, and then woke up hours later, still cooked. This individual decided following the party that they would not be trying edibles at a party again.
A2 - Felt low/ambiguous effects on a single cookie. I believe that this friend may have a stronger tolerance to Cannabis, but this remains to be proven. It would have been interesting to see how a second cookie would enhance the effects, but poor experiences with edibles in the past, made taking that measure an unattractive prospect. This friend instead drank in moderate quantities at the party, rendering the true extent of the effects of the cookie ambiguous.
D - Felt strong effects on 1.5 cookies. I was not able to ask for a true appraisal, however, they did report that they continued to feel the effects into the next day, as I had when I tried it for the first time. When I asked in the group chat for peoples thoughts, suggesting that I was disappointment with the effects, they countered: "speak for yourself, hit me like a truck".
Z - Felt strong effects on 1.5 cookies. About 45 minutes after taking a cookie, this friend sat on the floor and said, "I can feel my heart beating really strongly in my chest". At the time this genuinely made me a little concerned, and I was quickly placed in the frame of mind of "uh oh". But no unwanted frame of mind seemed to come over him. Although I did have not asked them specifically in any detail. They seemed satisfied with what they experienced. "All an all, they were pretty successful".
B - "Felt it" on 2 cookies, this is another friend who I think may have a higher tolerance to Cannabis. They did not report any interesting effects.
T - Felt reasonable effects of 1.25 cookies. Reported that it took a long time to kick in (when everyone else left the party). But that they felt very sleepy. Possibly due to a higher CBD component due to the process?

2 Main Misconceptions Around Hemp
We're here to clear up some common misconceptions and reveal the truth about this incredible plant HEMP.
Myth #1: "Hemp gets you high!" Well, hold on a minute! While hemp is related to marijuana, it's all about promoting health and wellness, not getting a buzz.
Myth #2: "Hemp is illegal!" That's not accurate anymore! Hemp is legal with the February 2022 judgment of the Delhi High Court, and people are falling in love with its environmentally friendly fibers, nutritious seeds, and potential health benefits.
We're here to shed light on these misunderstandings and show how hemp can create sustainable products, nourish our bodies, and contribute to a healthier planet. It's time to rewrite the narrative and give hemp the recognition it truly deserves!
